About Viewer Builder [1.3] ?

hi all i just want ask about Viewer Builder , is that for money ??? i mean the program for only who pay to adobe or for any one to use ?and if its for free any V for windows ?? ,
the second thing is that i use indesign cs5.5 with DBS tools but when i make my folio with many articles i cant resort the articles , that make me crazy ??
the last thing i want ask about it how i make a thumbnail for my foilo on the adobe digital publishing ??

I want to make sure I understand:
- Clearly Builder 1.5 doesnt change for the version generated for IPAD (still the 1.4 version in fact) => so problems remain unresolved (folio charge still invisible, just tested, and probably many other)
- A solution was found for android which has the viewer in 1.5 witch is seen to work (testing yet in progress for us)
I understant better now the board or not to update production tools as Adobe Viewer is not validated and available on the app-store ..
If this is the case it's just a trick to give us a bone, and reduce the discontent on the forum ...
If i'm right this is just "incredible" .....from a firm like adobe

How the iTunes Subscription (Viewer Builder 1.5.1 with Professional Edition account) works?

We're looking for some information appropriate for our purpose, about iTunes subscription on DPS viewer.
Please look at questions below.
Q1. What does the "subscribe" button mean at the library screen? If we set a subscription product with one month duration and then our customers purchase for this, can they download all the folios at the library for one month?
Q2. Why an addiotional "subscribe" button appears on below of the latest folio's "purchase/download" button? Is there any specific reason?
Q3. We set everything for an iTunes Subscription viewer with 1 month subscription product both on the Viewer Builder 1.5.1 & iTunes connect in-app purchase manager. And we're now testing the developer version's functionality with an iTunes connect test user account. But when we click on the "subscribe" button and follow all the process, the result is nothing different that each folio, independently set as in-app product, is still showing "purchase" button, not "download". Do we misunderstand the function of iTunes Subscription on DPS viewer?

Did you try if it actually charges you again ? Maybe it's the same problem like the one users have with already purchased songs, apps, folio's, etc. Upon buying it once again (after removal from the device), the store prompts something like "You've already bought it" ("Yeah I know, me stupid", I always hear my inner voice say) "Would you like to download it again?" ("Of course, why else should I bother, you stupid?") So maybe it's just the wording that might throw you off. Just like I don't like the "Achive" button next to folio's, that actually means (and should say) "Remove" ("Remove from this device, but retain your license"), just like the red-dotted x does with apps. Hey, why not show a red-dotted x ?

Uploading with viewer builder v11

Is it still possible to upload folio files with viewer builder v11?
I know, it's prerelease, but for various reasons we have to use this workaround.
Today we are getting messages saying "communication with server failed".

There is one information missing in this conversation: we of course immediatelly built a new app version and uploaded it to Apple.
We still desperately want to publish our issue as soon as possible, old or new app.
I cannot believe that our distribution push notification certificate is invalid. If that were the case, I wouldn't have been able to build a new version of the app on wednesday. I also wouldn't have been able to upload it to Apple. That said, i don't believe any of our certificates are invalid.
If there is a misunderstanding, please explain.
On the other hand, there seems to be a misunderstanding about the "please update your app"-topic. I know what the message means and I know why and when it is shown. As you can read above, the problem was, that the message didn't show up anymore.
It doesn't matter any more (maybe it had to do with us changing the product ID back and forth; only thing that comes to mind). We installed the app again and now the "plaese update your app"-message shows again. Which is what we wanted, rather than showing a sandbox-purchase-box.
And last, i noticed you marked your own answer as "correct answer" again.
Allow me to note that I am still not convinced. It simply doesn't work.
And i hope you understand the frustration on our side as this is a highly serious problem for us. We are three days behind publication date and losing trust of our readership.

Viewer Builder / Newsstand Issues

I am having some confusion in the Subscription Details section of the Viewer Builder.
There are 2 input fields that are not making since to me, Optional Library Subscription Tile URL and Optional Remote Custom Dialog URL.
The info for Optional Library Subscription Tile URL says "Specify a URL with a 180-pixel wide banner that is displayed at the top of the library view."
This does not seem to do at all what the info says, it actually opens a Custom Dialog with the graphic (or HTML) when you click on the Subscription Tile graphic (not the Subscription button in the interface)
The info for Optional Remote Custom Dialog URL says "This URL will be loaded in a dialog when the subscription process completes."
This does not seem to do anything.

Optional Library Subscription Tile URL - Specify a URL that is displayed in an in-app browser window when the customer taps the subscription tile. This webpage can include messaging that is not necessarily related to subscriptions.
Optional Remote Custom Dialog URL - This URL loads when the customer completes the subscription process. For example, you can request user information or provide additional details about your products.

Viewer Builder 1.7

Have spent the last couple of hours trying to install the viewer builder. 1.7.0
Uninstalling and clearing cash in my browser, etc, etc
And though it states that it is indeed version 1.7 it looks and feels like one of the first viewer builder tools.
I get no choice between publishing for android or ipad
And I have no viewer details tab for enabling the newstand features ?????
Any insight into this ??? as I'm about ready to bunk my head against the nearest block of concreete.

Please try this:
Quit the Viewer Builder.
Move the following file to your desktop:
/Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.ViewerBuilder.plist
Restart the Viewer builder.

This is my first time publishing a magazine using the Viewer Builder.
Which ID should I use in the first window inside the Viewer Builder, ther it asks for "Title ID"?

Its a Multi-issue App I wont to create, and I have read and watched a lot of videos and iformation, but I have not find exactly information about the Provisioning step in Viewer Builder.
And I see that I nedd certificats. I have create an developer.p12 anda a distribution.p12 certificate (but if they are right I dont know ...)
Is it a place where I can find more information or can you tell me a easy way ;-)

Viewer Builder Error - requires authentication

I keep getting this message when i try to log into DPS in the viewer builder.
I have CS5.5 master suite and viewer builder installed on my work setup and i can log in to accts via the viewer builder there fine.
I installed the viewer builder on my home computer (no CS5.5 suite) and i get this error message for any acct i try to log in to.
Is it a requirement for viewer builder that indesign is installed on the system? might there be some other error causing this, or a workaround?

I have the same problem.
I just had produce a new single veiwer app to appstore.
After 2 days, when I try to produce another single viewer, I meet that problem, both ipa and zip have the smae error information.
I pretty sure both our "Development Certificates" and "distribution Certificates" was right and I try to re-produce those again and again,
Even our developer and distrubution p12 files.
Do you have any suggestion about this situation??

Hi Ben,
We're using version 1.5. Basically the 1.4 version when launched generated an error. Something about it having been expired, and we removed it and downloaded and installed the 1.5 version.
Additional info:
Mac OSX 10.6.8 run with 8Gb Ram.
By the way...something different... in the provisioning account set-up we requested just the one email for Viewer Builder. Should we be using dedicated emails instead for each publication that'll be iTunes Subscription? (this is our first magazine we're transfering, so we've not got a conflict yet, but could have in future).

Endlessly spinning wheel in Viewer Builder

Hi everyone,
We just Tried to produce a new App woth Viewer Builder. unfortunately the process seems to be hang up. Every step went fine and the production process started successfully.
But the productn never ends. It's about three hours now, and the wheel still spins. Also after we rebootet the Mac.
We were able to produce the App with a second job, which successfully ended after acouple of seconds (as it usually is). So we don't have a pressure here in terms of time.
Still we don't want a broken App with a spinning wheel in our Viewer Builder. Especially because we are not the only ones from the company that use this account.
Is there a way to stop this broken process? It's not possible to end or delete it.
Or is there anyone, who I can contact because of this issue?

Yes we are using the newest version. A client of ours is experiencing the exact same problem with a completely different setup (different location, different mac, different accounts, different app)
Maybe it has something to do with the ftp server restart AdobeDigitalPub mentions on twitter
(@richardbrammer is it still happening? We restarted one of our servers earlier this morning due to slow FTP transfers.)

Tip: Quickly Adding Files to Viewer Builder

Here's a new v22 feature that isn't documented (yet). With the v22 Viewer Builder (soon to be renamed the DPS App Builder), you can drag and drop files -- icons, splash screens, and so on -- from Finder into Viewer Builder. Colin found out about it and quickly created a video before I could update the documentation. Well played, Colin, well played.

Viewer Builder and Bundle IDs

Hi everyone,
I just added another application into my itunesconnect. I used different bundle id and in order to do that, I created another apple id in apple id section in developer website. Then I named my new bundle id, came back to viewer builder, put all the certificates and rest of the stuff there but once I went to the last page, it showed the same bundle id like my previous applciation. Can anyone tell me how can I see my new bundle id in viewer builder page?

How to change Bundle ID in DPS Viewer Builder?

Hi there,
we're trying to publish our first ipad magazine app. as this is a one off mag we're just having a single edition app.
but, we're having both a US and a UK edition with slightly differing content and thus two separate apps.
we have managed to load the first app to apple (waiting review), although i am about 10% hopeful of it actually working—but the second app is causing problems.
we have bought a second serial and loaded the exported folio producer zip to the viewer builder but when i check the bundle id it is the same as the other app.
is there any way of changing this? is this because we only have the dps single edition. i am so confused here. i've spent a whole week trying to sort this out.
please help if you can.

I thought i used separate ones.
But with all the complications and confusion trying to load the second app i ended up issuing and subsequently revoking about 4 or 5 certificates.
i guess it's possible that i accidentally used the same certs and mob provis profile for both apps.
i've attached the certificates and mobile provisioning files we currently have.
a problem occurs when i use the DPS Viewer Builder to enter the Distrib and Dev Mobileprovision files.
I get an error saying "Bundle ID inside mobileprovision does not match the bundle ID used for the build which was....".

Single Edition and Viewer Builder (how to launch the VB)

just bought (one hour ago) a licence for single edition.
so i got the email telling me
1: i gotta connect to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com
2: make sure i got the latest version from the viewer builder
and here's the problem: the "Viewer Builder" section is still grey, I got no access to it and then can't do the following
3: launch the viewer builder etc.
4: in viewer builder, chose etc.
can someone help me please ?
maybe i just have to wait longer

Viewer Builder & Preparing for Newsstand

Hello,
I am in the process of trying to get my multi-issue subscription magazine approved at the Apple Newsstand. I am having some difficulty. Can someone please help me? This is how I thought that the process of preparing these files worked:
1. Build a Viewer with Viewer Builder. I made it multi-issue (because this will be a monthly mag.) Is this correct?
2. The Title ID: I thought that the Title ID should directly correspond to the email address that I use to create the folios correct? It won't let me. It highlights that area with a red box. I'm not sure why it won't let me and would appreciate help. I would think that by having the Title ID sync up to the Folio Builder that when I publish future issues they will show up in the Newsstand App?
3. I know this is not an Apple help center, but when I went on their Dev forums to ask for some insight in getting this approved I was told I needed to use a coding software (Xcode) from Apple. Does this make any sense? I thought I was able to just stick with the Viewer Builder in order to get this mag published.
4. I submitted the .ipa file to the Apple store trying to get it approved. It was rejected because "the storefront appeared empty" when they tested it. This is why I think I must be doing something wrong as far as building the viewer and getting them to sync up to the folio builder.
Again - thanks for any help. I have been playing around with this for a week and haven't been able to get anywhere. I feel as if I am close but missing something.

I am having an issue with #2 though. I try to use the Adobe ID that I have been using to create the Folios but when I do it won't let me continue and puts a red box around the Title ID. I have included the screen shot. I remember reading something that had me create a dps.admin@*******.com in order to use this as the Title ID but I think it also said something about not having that attached to any current Adobe account. Would I need to make that dps.admin@*******.com account the one that builds the folios (rebuild the folio) to get it to sync up correctly?
If this helps at all, I work for a company and my boss paid for the Professional Edition. SO that is the email address I use to log in to the Viewer Builder. I am the designer, so I have my own adobe account (the one I am using to post on here). I currently use my account to build the folios for the magazine. It should let me use my ID under the Title ID or do I ened to use the dps.admin mentioned above?

How to open Viewer from other apps? - App 'URL Scheme' has disappeared from Viewer Builder!

The 'URL Scheme' option in the Viewer Builder did let me to specify a url that made other apps open my viewer. But this option has disappeared from the newer version of Viewer Builder. So. How do I do now to let other apps open my viewer?

Is there a spacial reason that the URL scheme option was taken away from ordinary Multi-issue viewers? It was there in earlier version. I'll explain our situation:
Our client want to publish corporate information; annual reports etc, with DPS. Not really magazines or newspapers you subscribe to.
We are making another app where they publish news articles, videos etc. In that app, we want to have a link which opens the viewer with their publications.
To make this simple thing work, we have to create a 'subscription' to content which is not relly good for subscribing (it is free and announced with push anyway). We also have to tell the client to create Privacy Policys etc for this. A lot of hassle for something we do not really want.
Any chance that this option will come back in v19?
