About WebDB Installation...

Hi,
I try to install Oracle WebDB 2.2 on Windows 2000 Professional base on Oracle Enterprise Database 8.1.7 in the same PC. And my TNSListener's port is 1521.
I finished all prerequisites the whitepaper provided on Database then process installation. After choosing "Typical Installation" and specify the Host, DAD, ListenerPort, SYS's passwd, and existing TNS Name, the message shows that data I input is incorrect.
I can make sure all data is correct. I can make a successful connection by sqlplus via the same connecting information. And the WebDB Listener's Port(2000) I set is different from TNSListener's Port(1521)!
Any one can help me?
Thank in advance...
Regards,
Eric

  • Indepth information about Solaris Installation

    Hi,
where can I find in-depth information about the installation
process for Solaris (6, 7 and 8) on Sparc machines?
for example I need to know:
There seems to be a limit for the length of the parameter of the (OBP) boot command. How long can the parameter be?
What actions does pfinstall while installing the system? What files are changed by pfinstall in /etc and /a/etc?
Also I need some more information about the sysidtool programs.
I alreay looked in the man pages, manuals and searched the sun websites (www.sun.com, docs.sun.com, etc.)
    TIA
    Bernd Schemmer

The differences would be new features, documented in the Release Notes and README files.
We don't document lists of, for example, bug fixes.
The compilers are forward compatible in the sense that valid source code that worked with C++ 5.5 will continue to work with C++ 5.8, and binary files that were created by C++ 5.5 on Solaris 8 can be linked into a program that is built with C++ 5.8 on Solaris 9. (I say "valid source code" because we don't promise to duplicate old bugs.)
Since you are moving to Solaris 9, I recommend using Sun Studio 12 (C++ 5.9) instead of Sun Studio 11 (C++ 5.8). Using Studio 11 is necessary only if you need to build on and generate code for Solaris 8.

  • A question about Maveric installer created on a USB key? Can this be used multiple times?

I have downloaded Maveric on a Mac Book Pro.
Then without installing utilising Diskmaker X as suggested using a USB key have created Maveric installer.
My question is that I wish to know if the above created USB installer could be used in more than once to install Maveric?
If I put that above created USB on a Mac Book Air and do the install, and could I use the same USB installer on a second Mac Book Air to install Maveric OS?
This will help not needing to use broadband downloads where restrictions apply?

    Thank you Lanny.
That is great to know about Mavericks.

  • Basic questions about JRE installation

I am using NSIS to make a installer, which insalls the JRE 1.5, JMF, Javamp3, then our own software packages.....
Firstly I have some basic question about the general installatio/deinstallation.
1 Why sometimes is it required to reboot computer for the installed software to take effect, e.g.
JRE 1.5. If not, what doest NOT take effect? (Actually in many cases, it seems to work even if not reboot the computer).
    Regarding the JRE 1.5,
    I am wondering:
1 where is the registry entry written in windows?
2 how to make the JRE installation process silent?
    Thanks !

Just click on this link http://mindprod.com/jgloss/registry.html.

  • About AS installation type

    Hi, everyone
in recent project, i plan to use oracle AS9.0.2.1(for windows)
    my question is :
about installation type , there are
    1. j2ee container
    2. infrastrucuture
    3. kit
i heard about the AS have already included a light weight DB, is that true? if true, in which installation type?
    Sincerely,
    wuwei

In 9ias infrastructure, wich is a basic need in almost al the other options, you receive a enterprise vs 9.0.1 database.
In most cases you don'nt want hold production data in the IASDB database.

  • Question about OS installation

I have some problems with hot keys and I want to reformate my system.
Problem is that I havent created recovery cd before, is it going to work if I do it now.
    thanks

    Hi
Please dont worry about recovery procedure. It is very simple to do. Put recovery CD into CD/DVD drive, start the notebook and press down C button and keep it pressed for a few seconds. This will force your unit to boot up from CD/DVD drive.
Follow the instruction on the screen. Standard mode will erase the whole HDD and create just one partition. If you have just one partition I recommend you to create two of them. The first one will be used for OS and application installations. The second one can be used for data saving.
If you need more instructions please write again.

will create its own but you will have no control over placement

  • Some basic question about SCM Installation

    Hi Folks,
Could you please advice me about some basic questions about SCM and its installation -
Q1. Do I need to have an R/3 System to be able to practice OR demo the SCM system?
Q2. If, yes, which version of SCM is compatible with the ECC 5.0?
Q3. What are the basic requirements to install SCM (version compatible with ECC 5.0) and ECC on a oracle db and windows OS?
Q4. Does SCM have APO and BI as an inbuilt functionality OR does the user need to purchase these as an Add-On?
I know these are some basic questions, but these will help me give me a direction.
    With best wishes,
    Krishna

    Hello Krishna -
Q1. Do I need to have an R/3 System to be able to practice OR demo the SCM system?
---> There are various Modules in SCM Like APO (Sub Modules  DP (stand alone), SNP Needs Master data from R/3 and has to pass on transactional Data to R/3, PPDS same as SNP, GATP same as SNP), ICH needs Data from R/3 to work with. Core Interface (CIF) connects R/3 to APO for transferring data.
Q2. If, yes, which version of SCM is compatible with the ECC 5.0?
-->For thorough understanding explore the following links

    -->Refer Above
Q4. Does SCM have APO and BI as an inbuilt functionality OR does the user need to purchase these as an Add-On?
--> APO comes with a small BI inbuilt functionality. you can only perform certain functions using that BI.
    Hope this helps.

  • WebDB Installation problem

I am attempting to install WebDB on my
laptop. I just installed Oracle 8i (v. 8.1.5) on the same machine which has Windows NT 4.0 Workstation OS. When I run the WebDB install (v.2.0.5 for NT), the
first thing it asks me in the Oracle Installation Settings window is the Oracle home, which I specify as 'DEFAULT_HOME' which is the home I set up for the 8i installation. For location, I provide the location of 'D:\Oracle\Ora81' which is where it was set up. Language is English of
course. I get a 'General Information' message that says:
"The location specified, "D:\Oracle\Ora81' is already used as an Oracle home for 'Oracle 815 Production'. It cannot be used as an Oracle home for 'nt'."
I click on OK, and I am taken back to the Oracle Installation Settings, and I am not able to get past this.
Also, not knowing what I was doing, I thought I would specify a new Oracle home and I typed in the name: 'WEBDB_HOME' and location: 'D:\WEBDB' and clicked OK. It prompts me to choose between Typical
install and Custom Install. I choose Typical.. and say OK. It asks me
for the SYS password, and I type it in (change_on_install) without changing host name (my computer name) or port# (80) info, and click OK. I get an error:
"PL/SQL Web Toolkit does not support multiple installations, and therefore cannot be installed on 'WEBDB_HOME'. It can only be installed on 'DEFAULT_HOME'. In order to install PL/SQL Web Toolkit, please run
the Installer again, and select 'DEFAULT_HOME as the target location."
But I already tried that! I say OK and the installation software closes.
Can someone tell me how I can fix this problem? I have tried both
approaches and dont seem to be getting anywhere.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Raj

I've experienced a similar problem when installing against Windows NT, which I solved by explicitly set ORACLE_SID from an MS-DOS prompt, and then running the installer from there. I don't know if this info is of any use - sorry if it isn't.

  • Please HELP me!, NT WebDB installation problem

    Hi!
I have been trying to install web db, I have not been able to do
it because of the following problem.
When i get to the "Oracle Installation Settings", Name drop-down
list contains only "EM_V20" (Enterprise Manager)(and the
location points to the location of enterprise manager
(D:\EM_V20)). So, I cannot select any database to install Web
db. And when I continue regardless of what i got, it asks for
the sys password ( I don't know which database it is asking for,
anyway I changed all the database sys passwords to a unique
password say xxx), and I submit xxx, but it did not accept ( Not
a surprise), And it corrupted my enterprise manager also.
So, How can I install web db to my database say "sample" or how
I can choose my database.. (In your Oracle web db installation
handbook, it says choose DEFAULT_HOME, but I got only EM_V20).
    Please help me...
    Thank you..

    Hi Murat:
I think you need to install Oracle 7 or 8 before you install
webdb. Using CHANGE_ON_INSTALL as a password for SYS.
    Good luck

  • Question about initial installation: WRT54GS

    Greetings!
I am trying to install a WRT54GS... I have a Motorola SBV4200 Cable Modem (using RoadRunner) hooked into my desk-top PC...
    Here's what I'm finding:
I plug everything in, and hit the "Secure Easy Setup" button on the Linksys, and then my laptop finds the signal, and everything's great - I get a super strong signal, and everything's hunky-dory.
A minute or two later, however, the laptop loses that signal, and switches over to a REALLY weak signal from outside somewhere.  The Linksys signal isn't even seen by the laptop. (i.e. - it's not on the "Available Wireless Network Connections" list)
So I started reading these boards, thinking that maybe I could find out what was going on... I thought that maybe RoadRunner has a dynamic IP Address, and that when it changed, the LinkSys and the laptop just weren't speaking anymore... So I followed everyone's reccommendations to go check the default IP  for the two...
Here's where the next problem occurs... I tried to go to 192.168.1.1, and of course I got to the Username/Password sign in... I left the Username empty, and used "admin" for the password...
    Nothing...
Tried EVERYTHING - Admin, ADMIN, admin, Administrator, default, DEFAULT, tried putting stuff in for the username, EVERYTHING (or at least everyhting i could think of...
I tried resetting the LinkSys, and re-tried all those things again... Nuthin'
Does anyone out there have any ideas where to go next?  Like i said - it's frustrating because the thing works... for about a minute.
The nice thing is that the guy across the street is an IT guy for a HUGE company (one of the biggest in the state) - and he was stumped too!  So I know it's not just me...
    HELP!?!
    Thanks all -
    Tom

Make sure you're hard-wired to the router when you try to access it's address.
Check also if all LEDs are lit up properly. Power LED should always be solid.
Check if the router's still giving you an IP address.
