  • Yet another question about AC adapters

    Hi,
    My previous ipod was my brother's old 3G ipod. I only had it for a week before it got stolen, so I don't know much about ipods.
    I just bought a 30GB 5G ipod. I have the old AC charger from my brother's unit. You plug the ipod into a little stand and then plug the stand/adapter into the wall.
    Is this ok to use with the new ipod?
    I know other people have asked this, but I wasn't totally clear which adapters they were talking about.
    Thanks so much.

    You can definitely use the 3G AC adapter with your iPod.
    However-->You will not be able to use the FireWire cable for anything other than charging the iPod.
    The 5th Generation iPod can't connect to a computer via a FireWire cable.

  • About spatial adapters

    Hello,
    Could anyon help me.
    I try use 10g spatial java library.
    I want to use Adapters to change a WKT Polygon to STRUCT
    for SELECT and change a select result polygon to WKT
    String.
    This is My PG:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    import oracle.sql.STRUCT;
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.*;
    import oracle.spatial.geometry.*;
    import oracle.spatial.util.*;
    STRUCT d_Line = Adapters.wktToSTRUCT(douro_data);
    String sql = "SELECT sdo_geom.sdo_arc_densify(sdo_geom.sdo_buffer(?,?, 0.5),0.5,'arc_tolerance=5') from dual ";
    PreparedStatement ps = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
    ps.setObject(1, d_Line);
    ps.setString(2,douro_haba);
    ResultSet rs = ps.executeQuery();
    if(rs.next()){
    STRUCT dbObject1 = (STRUCT) rs.getObject(1);
    if(dbObject1 != null){
    String p_polygon = Adapters.validateWkt(sdoAdapters.structToWkt(dbObject1));
    I can sucessfully ANT this PG,But I fail to run this PG.
    First it thrown <<java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError>>
    Then when I run it,it always thrown
    <<java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError>>
    In old Spatial Lib I need use OracleConnection to make
    a Adapter.
    Does any one know how to use Adapter to change a WKT
    and STRUCT?
    Thanks in advance

    Now I did this:
    select mdsys.sdo_geometry('Polygon((155520000 39541838,156317988 39541838, 156317988 41472000,155520000 41472000,155520000 39541838))',null) from dual;
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY('POLYGON((15552000039541838,15631798839541838,156317988414720
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(155520000, 39541838, 156317988, 39541838, 156317988, 41472000, 155520000, 41472000, 155520000, 39541838))
    So I can change a WKT Polygon string to a STRUCT.
    But I worry if the polygon is very big (exp 10000 points)
    ,the select can work?
    If I do this:
    Select a.geom.get_wkt() from
    (select SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(155520000, 39541838, 156317988, 39541838, 156317988, 41472000, 155520000, 41472000, 155520000, 39541838)) geom
    from dual) a;
    So I can get a WKT Polygon string.
    But I do'nt need the double type X,Y ,so I have to change the double X,Y to long (round number) X,Y.
    In Oracle9i I use oracle.sdoapi.geom.* to do it.
    In Oracle10g I have to make a new Change PG.

  • Simple question about wireless adapters

    I have recently acquired a original Bondi Blue iMac G3 that I have upgraded to os x 10.3. I would like to have this machine run wirelessly, so I brought out a spare linksys wireless adapter I had lying around (Model # WUSB54G ver. 4) to see if it might work. It didn't, as I expected it not to.
    I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make this adapter work with my original iMac
    Thanks!

    I doubt that you will be able to use that adapter. USB wireless adapters require Mac OS drives. Linksys does not have a record of even recognizing that Macs exist.
    A much better way to get your iMac wireless capability is to get an Ethernet wireless adapter. These require no drivers therefore they work with any Ethernet device regardless of OS.

  • About adapters in OIM

    Hi OIM Gurus,
    After completing the OIM VM labs, one gets a feel of the product allright, but there isn't sufficient information about how the underlying mappings and adapters work. One tends to use the default adapters that come with the imported XML files and it works fine.
    However, I need to know more about writing adapters (all types) from scratch, understanding how the form data is mapped to the fields in the external data store, etc. I checked the "OIM tools reference guide" and it contains decent information about all the tabs in the adapter configuration, however I need to know more details like, which APIs, constructors and methods to use for a particular adapter (say create user) for which data server (say iPlanet).
    Is there any advanced adapter guide, or any document that explains the use of these things in detail preferably by an example? Please let me know if there is any such guide. If not please let me know what is the best way to go about learing how to write adapters.
    Thanks, M

    EHLO!!
    Well.. you surely have noticed that OIM docs are referential. This comes from the Thor epoch, with new versions more docs appeared and the main thing, forums like this began to appear.
    For doing a basic connector, the first thing you will develop is a Resource Object. I suggest that you learn then about forms.. and then you create one that matchs with your needs for your connector. Then, go make the provisining process, and create the tasks that will handle an account creation, modification and deletion. You will have to create adapters to reach this goal, and java classes to be called from the adapters.
    In each point, you have very good documentation (almost nothing of examples). Try to make yourself and test-error with the aids of the log.
    In each topic, you should question all your doubts here or in metalink, and after practice you will be gaining control over the oim thing.

  • HDMI to Component adapters

    Hi, I've been searching around for a Apple TV to Component adapter/converter and stumbled upon a few expensive options! (cheaper to buy a new tv)
    I read about the HDFuryII and some other adapters..
    then I came accross this site from Cable Shark.
    http://www.cableshark.com/Apple-TV-Down-Conveters-s/304.htm
    Has anybody tried these? any sucess? It says it supports HDCP.. I'm just a bit skeptical since I don't see any posts on here about these adapters.
    I have a Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3rd gen.
    Thanks

    None of the three lower adapters pictured in your post will do you any good with your MBP.
    1. The VGA-HDMI adapter does the reverse of what you want: it yields VGA output from HDMI input. The opposite is not possible; a VGA input does not contain all the information necessary to create an HDMI output. You'll have to get a direct mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter instead.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1824ZM/A/Moshi_Mini_DisplayPort_to_HDMI_Adapt er?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
    2. VGA-Component: Lots of posters here when the MDP-equipped MBs and MBPs first came out tried adapters like this one with no success. What does work with the MDP (and a VGA adapter) is a converter box like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Startech-Component-YPbPr-Video-Converter/dp/B000G6Y0S6
    3. VGA-Composite: This doesn't work with MBPs either. For Composite or S-Video output, you need a converter box like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/PC-To-TV-Video-Converter/dp/B001CJOLBW/ref=pd_cp_e_2
    or this:
    http://www.startech.com/AV/Converters/Video/High-Resolution-PC-VGA-to-TV-Convert er-with-Remote-Control~VGA2NTSCPRO
    These converter boxes will work fine in combination with your Apple MDP-VGA adapter.

  • Need USB to RS232 and USB to LPT adapters

    Hi, My Toshiba Satellite A100 has only 4 USB ports. I need parallel (LPT) and serial (COM) ports. How to solve this problem? I have adapters USB to LPT and USB to COM, wich work on my desktop, but they not work on notebook. Thank in advance.

    I have read on some sites that not all USB adapters work properly.
    You should firstly google around for more informations about such adapters.
    If you are sure that it will work so you can buy it.
    Anyway, the PCMCIA is a good solution

  • EAP-Fast and Cisco 340 Adapters

    Does anyone know if the 340 adapters support EAP-Fast? The docs that I have looked at talk about 350 adapters... I thought the only difference between 340 and 350's was the anntena.

    Based on this document seems like its supported,

  • Mini DisplayPort adapters

    To save others from a lot of time searching, from what I have read and understand, Apple currently is the only vendor that has cables for mini DisplayPort (to DVI and to VGA). I do not know yet whether this Apple-only (as of now) interface has any legal restrictions regarding third party products for mini DisplayPort. I have contacted a major supplier of audio/video accessories to enquire about forthcoming adapters for this new port. I will post here when I hear back.
    I, and I'm sure others, would like to have a mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable so that we can watch videos on our HDTVs. I know I could go mini DisplayPort --> DVI --> HDMI, but that would be expensive ($29 for Apple's cable alone) and cumbersome (DVI doesn't do audio, so a separate audio cable would be needed).

  • Adapters-shoud i still use "implements or extends" keyword

    hi all...especially Mr. Glen McCluskey...
    i've just read the TechTips using Adapters-9 May 2000...
    there was an example about using adapters...there wasn't keyword "extends or implements" in that example ...
    so the question is:
    if i use adapters, should i still extend or implements my derived class from base class? or this formula is just enough, for example:
    frame.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter(){................});
    the example available at: developer.java.sun.com/developer/TechTips/index.html the date is 9 May 2000 writer:Glen McCluskey ...
    thank you, all...

    I don't understand why you say "there wasn't keyword "extends or implements" in that example ", I read the article and see:abstract class A_ADAPTER implements A {
            public void f1() {}
            public void f2() {}
            public void f3() {}
            public void f4() {}
            public void f5() {}
        } which clearly implements interface A, and the class that uses this adapter must extend the adapter. So yes, your adapter must implement the interface it is adapting, and the class that is using this adapter must extend the adapter to "use" it.

  • Difference between variuos SAP adapters!!

    Hi,
    Can anyone please explain the differences between BAPI,RFC and ALE?
    Please tell me more about SAP adapters particularly BAPI.
    Looking forward your reply,
    Thanks in Advance!!
    Regards,
    Venkatesh.R.

    Hi
    a BAPI is an RFC enabled function module. The BAPI is different in that it encapsulates a complete business object. For example, "Create Sales Order" the BAPI for this allows you to create a sales order with a complete interface. BAPIs are also well documented in transaction BAPI.
    RFC is just a remote enabled function module which you are allowed to call from outside the system, doesn't neccesarily encapsulate a complete business object.

  • Messaging adapters question

              Hi all,
              I installed evalution copy of WLS 6.1 sp3 and would like to
              use the messaging bridge. It was mentioned about the adapters
              need to be installed (jms-xa-adp.rar, jms-notran-adp.rar and
              jms-notran-adp51.rar). I couldn't find these files under lib
              directory.
              Where can I download these files?
              If I am using sonic or mqseries as jms provider, do I need
              a special adapter for them?
              thanks

    Please contact BEA customer support to get patch CR081511_61sp3.jar,
              which contains the newest version of the adapters.

  • Before posting about the speed Increases for Infin...

    Hi All
    We started taking orders  12-04-2012 for Infinity 2 on bt.com and since then many of you have raised questions on the forum. Here's a heads-up on what to expect when ordering and what happens next.
    I've placed my order but no speed increase
    1. Check the order tracker to see when your order is due to complete - it won't complete before this date and please note that orders are completed between midnight and 6am on the day. (link)
    2. Check your own equipment - this covers your own setup up to the Openreach socket. Remember to test with a wired (Ethernet) connection if having problems on a wireless setup (more on this below)
    3. In a small number of cases you may need to switch the Hub off, and on again, before experiencing any speed increase.
    Remember that whilst the service is 'up to 76Mb', the speed you receive depends on your line - If the line can support 60Mb then that is what you will receive - you can check the estimate for your line here: (link)
    My order shows as completed, what speed should I expect?
    We would have given you an estimate of your maximum broadband speed when you placed your BT Infinity order. You can check your actual speed at any time at speedtester.bt.com.
    Your speed test results will show you your current speed, which will vary at different times of day depending on:
    1. The way you connect – a wired connection is significantly faster than a wireless one
    2. Your computer’s speed – older computers are usually slower
    3. How busy the Internet is – the busiest times are evenings and weekends
    4. The speed of websites you visit – e.g. some sites cap speeds in busy periods
    Please note that it can take up to 10 days for your BT Infinity speed to stabilise so bear this in mind when doing speed tests during this initial period.
    How to get the most out of your new speed
    Are you using a wired connection? Your connection will be faster and more stable if you use an Ethernet cable(s) to connect your computer(s) to your Hub. At these faster speeds, we recommend a wired connection. Wireless is best reserved for connecting only your mobile devices and laptops.
    Are you using the latest wireless kit? The Home Hub uses ‘n’ standard technology, which gives the fastest wireless connection. You may need to buy an ‘n’ wireless adaptor(s) for your computer(s) to take advantage. If you are unsure about wireless adapters you can ask questions in our community or find out more at bt.com/nwireless
    Are you using our broadband software? Our Desktop Help software will optimise your computer settings for your new faster speeds. Download it from bt.com/desktophelp. Within this, using the PC Healthcheck feature regularly is particularly important to get the best speeds.

    Right ok, its not the master socket or wiring as my connection as dropped again this evening. I was getting no connection at all and wouldnt open a single web page. These were my router stats before I restarted the router.

  • Easiest (and best) way to stream video from iMac to TV

    All,
    Trying to look for the highest quality, easiest & least expensive ways to get HD video from my iMac to my TV.
    I could run wire - but that's sloppy, and a pain in the butt. Probably least expensive though.
    Could get a Mac mini - but that's expensive.
    Looking into getting a USB device (they sell them on TigerDirect.com) that beams the signal to a receiver - but they seem to be Windows based.
    I do have a PS3 & XBOX360, and I know there are some programs out there to do this, but I've never been satisfied with the quality - major stalling or streaming issues gumming up the entertainment.
    Can you folks weigh in with your tips, tricks or suggestions?
