Absence hours

Hi,
Currently our system is calculating half day / full day loss of pay for any no. of days entered in the infotype 2001. Now we have a requirement to deduct the salary based on no. of hours in the infotype 2001. For example If we enter 2 hours for any day, system should deduct the salary only for 2 hours for a particular day.
Please let me know some steps to configure.

Rule XPP1 to me modified,
TSAU** to be used instead of TKAU**, but simply this will not solve your queries... you need to understand what exactly all these are, and how it is floated.
Press f1 and proceed.

We are implementing ESS UI5. The create leave request screen defaulting Absence Hours as NaN, even after the Daily workschedule is showing planned hours.
We are at SP 007.

Hi All,
Yes, SAP has released Note 2140301. After implementing the note, the NaN is not populating, however after clicking on Check or send button the application is unresponsive.
We have updated to SAP already.

7 hours absence hours

Hi All,
1. I have created 5.25 hours daily work schedule on wednesday and thursday and 8.75 daily work schedule on friday. Monday, tuesday, saturday and sunday are off.
2. When I create absence on thursday, system is showing 8.75 absence hours. but I want to show 7 hours in IT 2001.
Please anybody help me, where I need to do changes for getting 7 hours in IT 2001.

Hi,
As the working hrs on Thursday are 8.75 system will show 8.75 only. You can manually enter 7 in absence hours field.
And if you want those 7 hrs to come automatically put 80% (instead of 100%) in the hrs quota multiplier field in the counting rule.

Limit Absence Hours increments of 4 or 8 ESS/IT2001

Hi Experts,
I only want my employees to be able to take vacation hours in increments of 4 or 8 in ESS and record onto Infotype 2001 as well. I have gone to ESS-Specify Processing Processes for Types of Leave but I am unsure if this is where the change should be made in configuration. Please advise.

You can write a validation to allow employee to request the absences only in increments of 1/2 day or full day based on the WSR.

Infotype 2001 (Absences) - storing absences in hours

Hi, how can i store absences in hours instead of days? the only unit of measurement avialable is days. We need to be able to have the user enter absences is hours and it can be more than 24 hours. Is this possible?

Below is the screen. We configured 25% Quaterly Deduction Loss of Pay. it is showing Absence Hours : 17:00 The system is picking total number of working hours Suppose for example : If I input 25% Absence Type for 2 Days It should show in Absence Hours : 2 Hours but Payroll calculations are happening correctly
Formula: 8hrs divided by 4hr = 50%
4hrs divided by 2hrs = 25%
Absence Hours = 2hrs
Experts please throw some light on this

     I need a report to show from wich quota was an absence used.
    Example:
ABSENCE HOURS   QUOTA   DATE..

    I know how to see it by using tables (PTQUODED) but I need a report for users, and before coding a new one I would like to see if there is one standar available.

Yes dude, but those reports dont show me for a given absence from which quota it was deducted.
I have some absences that can deduct from more than 1 quota (depending on the amount of the quotas)... so I need a report that shows me in which quota absences took the hours.

Negative Hours into CATSDB

HI All,
How do we post Negative Hours into CATSDB table? We have a program that creates records and posts them into CATSDB, but I would like to know how we can post negative hours. The problem is, when we are trying to post negative hours into CATSDB, the record errors out saying 'only positive hours can be posted'.

Hi you cant not post the negative hours in catsdb table... either you post absence hours as mentioned by one of the friend in the lead...otherwise if you wish to post negative hours than its mean that time event will follow like this

mean leaving to workplace which actually a time event which should be posted after coming to workplace need to posted before coming to workplace in order to sytem to get the difference of time as negative hours which cant be a business scenario..
if you r not agree than please elaborate the business scenario under which you would like to post the negative time in catsdb

How to create an absence on a non-working day?

Hi HR experts,
Is it possible to create an absence on a non working day or holiday? I tried to do so and I get all these information messages, until it finally saves. But it wont accept any number of Absence hours. Is there a way to allow it to accept 10 hours of absence for a holiday?
I'd appreciate your insight, thanks in advance!

I think you have got 2 possibilites.
you have to change the absence definitions for entering on free-days
table: V_T554S
are you using TM?
if yes, you can change in a rule the working hours.
or second solution would be changing T556C for this absence. also and this i have not tested changing the day type.

But my client wants the report in following format:

FMLA standard hours infotype 2001 not editable when working with date range

Hi All,
The issue described below arises at the Juncture between FMLA Workbench and Absence Infotype IT2001.
When we try to tie a FMLA Request to Absences the process takes us to the Infotype PA2001 screen wherein we would like the Absence Hours Field to be Editable so that we could enter Hours (less than full day).
The process works fine when the FMLA absence is for a single day, i.e. if an employee availed a FMLA leave on a day (whether full day or part of a day) the Absence Hours field (PA2001-STDAZ) is editable and the user can enter any number of hours of his choice.
But the process faces a glitch when the FMLA absence spans over a period of time (i.e. an employee availed a FMLA leave for over a period wherein each day may or may not be a full day absence, in this scenario it would be best if the system allow the user to enter Absence Hours so that the User could enter the exact number of Absence hours correctly. But unfortunately, when an absence spans multiple days the Infotype 2001 screen dynamically turns the Absence Hours field (PA2001-STDAZ) uneditable (grayed out) and the system forcefully enters hours equal to the sum of the work schedule hours for each working day covered in the span of period for which we are trying to enter FMLA Absence Hours.
I have used the USER EXIT and the BADI route and tried to change the Screen Table to editable, but with no luck.
Wondering, if anyone of you could help me out of this glitch.

   I don't think this is possible.
   You cannot make the Hours field editable for a date range.
   I don't think its feasible to enter absence hours on a day basis given a date range.
   Better think of creating a custom infotype to enter absence hours .
   (Design would be : based on the date range entered , say 01.01.2011 to 05.01.2011 , you should get five input enabled
     boxes(dynamically) for five days to enter the absence hours , this is not possible in standard infotype ..... )

Absence amount in infotype 2001 without taking wrok schedule into account

We are using CATS. For the purpose of available hours of an employee only the total of a week is needed. So for instance 25 h/week. We set up a week workschedule 25h/week with day schedule of 5 hours per day (hours evenly spread over the 25 hour week). However, I run into the problem that when I want to enter a leave in infotype 2001 for a certain day only 5 hours is allowed. But I need/want to enter 8 hours in infotype 2001 (user works 8, 8, 4, 5, 0).
If it works in infotype 2001 then it will also work in CAT2 and CAT6. Can anyone explain me how to set this up. I checked the following:
V_001P_D- Group Personnel Subareas for Attendances and Absences
V_T554S-Define Absence Types
V_554S_O - Determine Entry Screens and Time Constraint Classes
V_T551C - Define Counting Classes for the Period Work Schedule
V_503_E -Group Employee Subgroups for Time Quotas
V_001P_I - Group Personnel Subareas for Time Quotas
V_556R_B- Deduction rules for absence quotas
T556C- Counting rule
V_554S_Q - Assign Counting Rules to Absence Types
V_554Y_B and table V_T554Y
But I got lost somewhere in the tables above, the entries seem fine. I thought I had it with table V_554S_O where I set the availability on 9, but that did not help. The field "whole day" (P2001-ALLDF) is grayed out next to the field number of absence hours (P2001-STDAZ). We only us HR for CATS purposes.
I think I'm overlooking something for a particular setting in one of the above tables? I'm not an HR consultant so .... tabel V_556R_B is a very cryptic one for me. Further in table T556C I checked and unchecked "Work according to daily work schedule", but still no effect, also other combinations..... Also this table T556C I do not understand....
What I only need is specfic settings so that I can enter more absence hours in 2001 then in the workschedule is permitted. No updates in any other infotypes are necessary. From the help documentation it seems possible, but I don't seem to get it working....

We need to implement HR as lean en mean as possible, so time evaluation is no issue. Just want to post 0190 (Leave) in infotype 2001, 8 hours for a workschedule day that for instance only has 5 hours. Else user needs to create 2 lines in CAT2, 5 hours and another on same day with 3 hours. During CAT6 I get the problem that the 3 hours cannot be posted, besides the fact that this workaround is very userunfriendly.
Hoping that setting up infotype 2003 is not necessary, makes just things more complex (HR is just a means to an end for using CATS). Does it mean that I then need to create and absence type that is attached to infotype 2003? How does it work?

Infotype 5 to 2006 conversion - Handling retro updates to absence record

Greetings,
My query is related to IT 5 to IT 2006 conversion and the required configuration to correctly update the quota balance for past dated changes to absence hours.
The scenario:
Infotype 5 is converted to 2006 effective 01.01.2009 and the remaining entitlement balance is transfered to quota IT. An absence record which is prior to 01.01.2009 is then changed to correct the hours (say from 8 to 4). In such a case the desired result is: addition of 4 hours to quota (in IT 2006). However, this does not happen. We have simulated the scenario. Neither IT 5 nor IT 2006 is updated.
Kindly help with approaches we could take.
There are a large number of absences having complex user exits. Creating new absence is therefore not suitable. We have considered options such as updating through absence user exit or populating PTQUODED during conversion. Looking for an optimal solution.

Off-Cycle Payroll Run with reason Absence.

We are trying to execute Off-Cycle Payroll Run with reason Absence, however the /559 and /560 are showing Zero amount.
We are running it via Offcycle workbench. Would it really make a difference?
Here are the main configurations I have done:
1. We have executed the regular payroll run for past one month (Jan 2010).
2. We have maintained a 10 days absence for next month (Feb 2010)
3. The Absence valuation is configured to generate WT 3000, in which I am able to pull the number of absence hours.
My question is how to I get the per hour rate multipled by number of absence hours AUTOMATICALLY. I am looking to do it with configuration instead of PCR. Any thoughts?
Scenario: Current month (Jan) regular payroll is over, and employee applied for half month leave in next month(Feb). Now, employee wants to take salary for those 15 leave days before going for leaves.

I am not sure, if this functionality can be achieved without a PCR.
I guess you need to write a PCR for this....
Still you can try this using constants dependent on wage types path is IMG ->Payroll->Time Wage Type Valuation->Valuation Bases->Constant Valuation Bases->Constants Dependent on wage types.
I have a question here, if you are paying the employee for the half month of absence before he took the leave, how will the system know when you run the regular payroll for him at the end of the month that employee already got paid for the half month absence?
You should make sure that system doesnt pay him twice......

MSS Calendar View - Details of employee's request displaying 0 for hours

In MSS Calendar view when a manager views their calendar they can select the employee's time off request and the details will dispaly below. The details consist of the type, date and hours of the request. It appears that for some managers they are able to view this correct format. But for other managers when they click to get the details there will be a table format that displays with multiple rows displaying the following: Type of leave, From Date, To Date, Start, End, Absence Hours equals 0, Status displays as Informed, Used. Has anyone else encounted this issue where some managers view the correct detail format and others are viewing a table format that doesn't give the details and 0 for hours?

Thanks for the clarification on the text of the status. It appears that the hours are being posted and deducted from the employee's quota. After further testing yesterday we narrowed it down to either testing and implementing on a different platform or security.
