Absence of "Prompt Background Color property" in Property Palette

The "Prompt Background Color property" is specified in Form builder help topics but it is not present in the Property Palette.
How can we set it at design time ?
null

It sounds like lyuo have upgraded to the base release of 6i - this was fixed in a later patch - please apply the latest patch.

• Where is Background Color Property for Text Field Prompt in Developer 6i

I update all my works from developer 2000 to developer 6i (forms 6.0). All my screens are now irregular becoz, the text field prompt background color property is not present in forms 6i. Can you help me how to solve this prob.
(one more solution i found is, can do the prompt as separate canvas object, but is there any way to set the background color for prompt entered in text field.)
Thank you

Hi
I think there is a bug in the first release of Forms 6i,
where the prompts got the same backgroung color of the
related item (in fact, it must have no back color,
because it has no "background color" property).
Try applying a patch over it.

• Prompt Background Color in Forms 6i

Hi all.
I try to explain my problem....
I have problems using the property Background Color in forms 6i.
If i try to use another color (i.e. red) instead of color "unespecified" , and then execute the form, the prompt background color is the same with the item background (boths background colors are red). The normal is that Prompt background color are gray not red.
P.S. In Forms 6 patch 7 there isn't problems.
Any suggestions?

This is Bug 1269402, which is fixed in
patch 1 for Forms 6i. The patch is scheduled
to be released next month.

Thanks in advance.

• Picture contol background color property

Does anyone know what property I should set to change the background color
of a picture control?
sincerely,
Aaron

At design time: use the color tool.
At run time : draw a filled box same size as the control.

• Selectable mx:Label background color property

How can I change background color of selected text in my mx:Label when selectable=true. Default color is blue.
thanks in advance

Hi,
I think you should use something else for this use instead of Label.That will be better.
But if you want to do this with Label only then the solution is as below.
Create you own Label class which extends Label class of flex.And then use as I hv used it in my application.Below is the source
code for both.
CustomLabel.as
package
import mx.controls.Label;
public class CustomLabel extends Label
public function CustomLabel()
super();
public function getTxt() : *
return textField;
MainApplication
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="vertical"
xmlns:local="*">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private function onCreationComplete():void
customLabel.getTxt().background = true;
customLabel.getTxt().backgroundColor = '0xFFFF00';
]]>
</mx:Script>
<local:CustomLabel id="customLabel" text="Hello world" selectable="true" creationComplete="onCreationComplete()"/>
</mx:Application>
Let me know if u hv any issue.

• Where is background color stored in CS3 Bridge?

I would like to change the background color of the Bridge interface to match my desktop and Photoshop (both of which are currently #C0C0C0, or (192,192,192). I can go into Edit/Preferences/General, and play with the User Interface Brightness and Image Backdrop sliders and eyeball it, but I'm looking for something a little more precise.
Is the color saved in an XML file somewhere? (I looked in Adobe Bridge Panel Preferences.xml, which seemed like the most likely candidate, but did not find anything that looked like it.)
Any thoughts?

• How to change the background color of a Tab Canvas

Hi All,
I accidentally changed existing background color of a tab Canvas to ' gray' which is not matching with main canvas (which has default).
How can I change background color to default. Please help me.
-Thanks

In the property palette of the tab page, click on the "Background Color" property and click the "Inherit" button on the top of the property palette, this will revert the value of the property to the default when the tab page was created which is <Unspecified>.
But if your tab page has inherited the color from a property class it will revert to what was specified in the property class.

• Background color change of a column in Advance table

Hi,
We have requirement to change the background color of column in advance table based on some condition. We tried putting code to change background color in Custom.xss using background-color property and setting newly created css dynamically based on condition but it seems it only changes the background color of text not the complete cell. We want to change the color of complete cell in an advance table.
Please let me know if there is any other way I can achieve this requirement. Any help would be highly appreciated.

• Background-color css ignored?

Hi there.
I am designing the layout for a new site, but for some reason, on my footer the background colour is being ignored by browsers.
I have checked in firebug and it doesn't even appear in the style window as having a background color property, but my CSS file definately has.
The site is http://www.hwaassociates.co.uk/home.html
I have attached the css file to this post.
Basically, its the footertop and footer divs in the html page that aren't bringing the background colours through.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Craig

I wish I had a good pair of eyes!
I can't believe I missed that! I've even got it right further up in the other div's in the CSS.
Thanks very much to you both for the replies. What an amateurish mistake to make!
Regards,
Craig
p.s. Vikrish21 - did you have any luck with my issue last night with the heights of the hover effect for my menu?

• Changeing Canvas Background Color

Hi !
Once I have defined background color property(at design time) then how i can not change it back to <Unspecified> or Null? It doesnot except <Unspecified>. is it a bug?
Regards
Neeraj

hi
after clicking right of "background color" part,
click "Inherit" button which is at the top of the
"Property Palette" window..
your background color is now <Unspecified> as you want..

• Resetting Background Color to default

I made a change to the Background Color Property for the Canvas and now want to reset it to the default (so that it will use the color scheme set in the formsweb.cfg file). How do I do this? Typing in "<unspecified>" or "DEFAULT" does not work (it won't allow these values). I can't tell which of the swatches in the color picker would be the default value.
thanks,

Guys, the original issue is to re-set the canvas
background color without drop and re-create it. Thus
that 'Inherit' button on top of the property will not
work for canvas, but for items on the canvas!
Worked for me. (Forms 6i Version 6.0.8.22.1, patch 13)
In fact, I was about to ask how to set the background color of radio buttons, and just saw this topic. I tried the same thing for the radio buttons, and the Inherit button works there, too. (Thank you, Kevin!)

• FormatType="number" sets different background color too

Hi all!
I have an af:table element and af:column inside that has formatType="number" to get the right-justified text. But beside right aligning the column values the column becomes gray. I don't like having text columns white and number columns gray in the same table. Is this a deliberate feature?
I would like to set the background color to white, but background-color property for this column is not considered. If I set the background-color property for af_outputText inside this column I also don't get the desired look.
Thanks!
Take care!

Hi Frank!
I've created ADF read-only table for my view object. If I run the page immediately after this, all columns are white with gray headers which is OK. Then I change only the formatType property for one column:
<af:column sortProperty="Mass"
sortable="false"
headerText="#{bindings.MyView.labels.Mass}"
formatType="number">
<af:outputText value="#{row.Mass}">
<f:convertNumber groupingUsed="false"
pattern="#{bindings.MyView.formats.Mass}"/>
</af:outputText>
</af:column>This makes the text in this column to be right aligned but also the column becomes gray.
Hope to hear some more suggestions from you.
Thanks, bye!

• Set property for background color for JButton

I am attempting to change the colors of the UI for JButton. The change does not appear to be taking. The reason appears to be that JButton, and for that matter JLabel setOpaque(false); How can I globally change this to setOpaque(true);
Second is there a way to save the default property hash table after the changes are made so that it will run the next time the program is executed.

Thank you for responding. I don't feel that I have been clear in the statement of the problem. I have written a medium size desktop application(20,000 statements). I am trying to customize the color scheme by modifying the default laf properties color entries. I can modify JPanel through a put to the properties hash table. When I attempt to change the background color for JLabel and JButton it doesn't seem to take. I believe that the reason it doesn't take is because opaque(false). Is there a property that allows the overide of opaque to true or do I have to change all of the numerous JButtons in my program.
I have decided to store all changes in a file and make the changes at the point that the program initializes each time its run.
I am not looking for specific code but an approach.
I would appreciate your advice.
