You can create user-defined selection screens in executable programs (reports), function modules and module pools. There are three ways how user-defined selection screens can be called.

Sorry, can't agree that they are obsolete... I've done dozens of dialog programs over the last few years, with more on the current "to do" list... it depends on what you client site are doing - if they want online data entry transactions inside the SAPGui, then that's what you build.
As you can't have screens in a class pool, so you're going to need to define these dynpros somewhere else (although my usual preference is having them within function groups rather than module pools).
But I do agree that getting your head around ABAP OO is unavoidable - and can add a level of elegance to your code if implemented well, and add a level of future-proofing when it comes time to change your presentation layer to Web Dynpro or whatever, or exposing some logic via web services.
However you can stil make "classic" ABAP elegant - there's little difference between the readability of :

How to take backup of an entire module pool program with code,screen,etc.

I have some important data in the ides server for which i want to take backup of them.
I have some question regarding the same.
1.How to take backup/download of an entire module pool program with code,screen,etc.
2.How can we take backup/download for a DB table with its structure?
3.How can we take backup of a search help?
Please give some suggestions abt the same.

Hi,
May be just for viewing, try downloading from SE80 transaction from the others option.
Here just try issuing the print, it will generate the spool.
Now using the spool, download to your desktop as required. It will have all the information regarding the attributes, fields, elements everything.
The only issue is, may be you need to take all the screens separately.

Module Pool Info REQ???

I need some info abt the deque-nque concept in module pool,also abt the commit area statemnts in it.
I had an issue,in which the user runs an application in mdoule pool,like 3 users simaltenouly at a location,if any time they press the SAVE button at the same time,the application generate a unique no. all time,but in the case of same time SAVE butting pressing,one 1 no is generated & is same displyed to all users,thus only 1 records is stored in the table,but in actual it shd be 3.
So i need to solve this ,can any one tell me how to do ?
I sthete any deque-nque concept whcih can be applicabe here,or any think like I can lock the no of users at a particular location or i can find the no. of users & than generate the no. at a location based on the users.also in the case of same time SAVE button pressing.

Current the application is there,but the bug is there,which i hv to remove,it has to work in the same way as u written above.

Sharing Screen in Module Pool

My Requirement is an application to be developed in Module Pool where one screen will be responsible for create,change and display.Let's talk abt an application to create sales order using module pool,this application will have 1 screen where user will input all the required data to create sales order and same screen will be used for displaying and changing sales order . Help is appreciated.

The same screen will be used.
But in Background what is happening...?
If it is create they open the Fields for Input.
if it is change they open the fields for edit/input
if is display then it will be in Display mode.
We can achieve that using LOOP AT SCREEN and modify the screen fields.
If you take the same example
T180-TRTYP contents 'H', "Creation
T180-TRTYP contents 'A', "Display
T180-TRTYP contents 'V', Change
in sales order creation based on the parameter TRTYP , the screens will be changed from Display to Change etc.
According to the Parameter value the coding is done in side sales order application.

Module pool to output report!!

I need to output some layout based on the module pool parameters , ie need to process the module pool parameters process it build an internal table n then display...whats the way out, how shall i go abt this?

Hi gunjan,
This depends on what basis do you want to display the result? Is it an alv based or table control. And depending on that u can either use alv grid control using OOPS concepts or go for table control in module pool. Get the data from the user from one screen, and then pass the internal table to the table control and the rest would be taken care by the system itself. For this you need to create the table control with wizard so that the system generates the code for you. In case of ALV , you need to create the custom control and wirte the code yourself.

I want to delete the row after the display of table control. I have created push button as delete row. If I click on this push button, the selected row should get deleted.

Error while transporting modification in module pool of a specific infotype

While transporting some modifications that have be done on the PAI of a module pool of a specific infotype, we have an error with code return = 8, the error is --> Original object R3TRPROGMP900730 must not be changed!!!

Module pool - table control - update ztable

hello , i doing a module pool that will have few screens , now i have one screen with a table control that fetch the data from a ztable when screen is call the table control is showing the data and is in grey and no editable i add a pf-status for change that mode i can delete the row from the table control but i don't figure out how update to the ztable when i press save , i wan't too another button for add a new row ( and remain the already in grey ) for add new entrie in the table and update the ztable

Module Pool - Table Control - Data not getting displayed in Control

I have a table contol in my module pool program. In my processing I am filling an internal table & then in my PBO I am linking the internal table to table control. The issue is that even though the internal table is getting filled correctly (found through debugging), the data is not getting populated in table control. Nothing is populated on screen. I am writing part of code below

           When ever you need to do anything with the table control, i mean if u want to display data in table control or you want to validate the data entered in table control Should be done within Loop and Endloop.(PBO or PAI's which ever is appropriate)
Here the data is not bieng displayed in ur table control because you have not used the MODULE fill_data between
LOOP AT lt_table_cont WITH CONTROL TBL_CONT cursor TBL_CONT-top_line.
ENDLOOP.
so do it like this
LOOP AT lt_table_cont WITH CONTROL TBL_CONT cursor TBL_CONT-top_line.

this will solve your problem.

Text elements in module pool

Hi,
How can we print Descriptions and other text as text lable in module pool????

IF you want text for box heading in moodule pool...
than just double click on that box and write for lable in text part of attribute window.

Edit a field in ALV tree in a subscreen of a module pool

Hi
I want to make a field editable in the ALV tree based on some condtions in a subscreen of a module pool. I used the edit = 'X' field in the fieldcatalog still it is showing the field as display and not edit.
Please help me to get the field as editable and save it to the database table.
Please not this is ALV TREE

I am using oops method.
I tried making the field which is to be made editable as wa_fieldcatalog-edit = 'X'. But its not working. I didnt get you when you said edit in layout object.
I also went through the demo programs but these programs are not having editable fields.
My code is as follows:
