AC 10.0 - necessary components

Hi all,
I'm getting conflicting information on which parts are necessary (mandatory) for the AC 10.0 installation.
We have a
- newly set up machine with an ABAP stack only
- Adobe Document Services running on a different machine
It was mentioned, version 10.0 is purely ABAP based, however the installation guide also lists the following JAVA components as "required":
- Portal 7.02 - only if using an Enterprise Portal as frontend?
- Integration Kit XI 3.1 - only for PC & RM reports??
- IGS Version 7000
Is the SAP GRC Portal equal to the above "Portal 7.02"? As a mandatory component?
Thanks in advance,
Daniela

Hi Daniela,
I know there are some bits and pieces not too clear in the guide, we are working on updating those.
I can confirm that the Java stack is optional as it can work without one. There are some limitations though.
-No print using PDF functionality. You can use an Adobe Document Services from another server in the landscape.
-If you use Portal as your client you need obviously Java, but again this can be another server. If no portal is used you can use NWBC 3.0 or the web-based NWBC provided in ABAP.
Hope that helps.

  • Sun Java System Messaging Server - necessary components

    People, prompt: for Sun Java System Messaging Server besides ldap, what is necessary?

    Hi,
    What is it you want to do with your messaging server installation? If you don't want UWC access (i.e. IMAP/POP access only) then Messaging Server is all you need (along with an LDAP server which may or may not be installed on the same system). A mail-relay system for example requires very little, in fact during configuration you can disable the store to leave MTA functionality only.

  • Discoverer Viewer - necessary components

    Are the Oracle Internet Directory and Metadata Repository necessary to run Discoverer Viewer?
    I'm having trouble connecting to my database locally through Viewer and am wondering if that's the issue. These are not installed.
    Thanks

    Hi
    No these are not required in order to run Viewer. In order to run Viewer you need to have a database account and password, and the correct URL to launch the tool. The server upon which Viewer is running needs to have a TNS Names connection to the database and your Discoverer Administrator needs to have created an End User Layer (EUL) in the database itself, to which you have been granted access.
    An attached Metadata Repository opens up public and private connections whereas OID, in addition to the Metadata repository, opens up Single Sign-On.
    Best wishes

  • Error: unsupported format or damaged file/ one of the necessary components may not have been install

    Hi folks,
    Lately I am unable to attach to a Premiere- project any jpg- or avi-file. The error message above shows every time I try.
    There is a hint (via Quicktime) to add Xvid, but that's already installed (with K-Lite Full, latest edition)
    When I replay a avi-file via QT I only hear audio, no video.
    In other players (i.e. GOM) I have no problem.
    Stranger ofcourse is the impossibility to add jpg-pictures to my project.
    What to do?

    Read Bill Hunt on a file type as WRAPPER http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037?tstart=0

    What CODEC is INSIDE that file? http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440037?tstart=0
    You need to convert to DV AVI type 2 with 16bit 48khz sound... not some other codec "hiding" inside that AVI wrapper

  • Necessary Components to Transfer AVCHD Lite Video to  Blu-Ray Discs

    I have AVCHD Lite HD video footage from a Panasonic Lumix DMZ-FZ35 that I wish to transfer to disc in its full reproduction so that I do not have to continue storing it on SDHC memory cards. Is it true that with an 2009 iMac I can achieve this task by utilizing Roxio Toast 10 Titanium along with an external Blu-ray burner or do I need other hardware or software?
    Also, I understand that the this video content could be saved on DVD-Rs, but would take up multiple discs vs. a single Blu-Ray disc.
    Any websites or forum information available on this concern would be appreciated.

    Picking up on my original post about H264 - as I have a dual boot machine I also have a clean  installed Win 7 /64bit partition which I use for general bits of work.
    On that I have CyberPowerDVD SW installed which plays all Video files fine including BluRay material etc.
    Interestingly when I try to play the file that AME has created from the BluRay H264 preset it says 'It cannot play the file as it is a format it does not recognise...'
    This is really weird and would suggest AME is not encoding the file corrrectly??
    I have already removed and made a re-install of CS4 on my main [video editing] partition but there were some fragments of CS4 left intact
    How do I completely remove everything?
    I tried the CS4 clean script but it said it relied on Microsoft CLean Up utility and gave a link
    When I loooked on Microsoft web site the link to download it had been removed?
    Also Adobe say the CS4 remove script is no longer supported ?
    Can anyone advise on the correct tool/procedure to completely remove CS4 from a Win 7/64bit installation so I can then try re-install of CS4 one more time....in case the installation is corrupt in some way
    I can't explain why I am having this problem otherwise if other people find AME encodes OK with H264 BluRay preset.

  • What components are necessary to install?

    To install i9AS, it takes 3 GBs, but OC4J is only about 10Megs.
    Do I need to install all of i9AS to run the portal?

    Hello Ambarish:
    To install SAP PLM 701 - what are the necessary components?
    This is a wide open question and the answer depends on what you currently have installed in your environments. Typically to enable PLM 701 you will need ECC 6.0 with EHP4 or greater.
    To have "PLM UI and cFolder" u2013 Do they need EP?
    PLM UI itself is a front end component hence may not require EP but depending on how you want your cFolders to be set up you may need a portal.

    Depending on the data you exchange between the two systems, you need to activate the necessary components.
    These components form the basic framework where the data in your order document gets stored in the respective components
    For example:A double-level order document, use the components 1HDR (header) and 2IT2 (item). For a triple-level order document, use 1HDR (header), 2IT3 (item) and 4SDL (schedule line).
    As mentioned by Nikhil and Sandeep, the above notes help you, in activating the necessary ODM's
    Kindly read the help document available is SAP IMG for further understanding.

    Kindly let me know which version of SAP Xi is to be installed or what required patches do i need to apply in order to get these components.
    I would appreciate if anyone let me know the basic steps and componets i need to take care while integrating Triversity to SAP-IS retail. Please guide me who has already done this kind of integration.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    You need to install XI for Triversity. If you dont want to use XI completely, you require PCK(Patner Connectivity Kit) for temparory acessing data from R/3. Its a tool provided by XI no need of complete XI in your Target side.

  • Utility for checking OTM Components

    Hello
    I have installed OATS in several systems (Sand pit, Dev, Test etc). The integration of OTM and open script for EBS works perfectly in some systems and does not work in some other systems. The systems where the OTM integration is not working, we are removing the components including Oracle and reinstalling them. But still they do not work.
    Is there any tool which can check whether all the necessary components are installed for OTM to work properly.
    Ramesh

    Hi,
    I have the same problem.One of my two systems,i can run the script prepared in open script for web functional from OTM,but i couldn't run the script for Oracle EBS from OTM,in the report i can see the error "exception occured when running the agent".The other system works perfect.

  • ML installation stops  - couldn't download components

    Hello, the iMac has had problems with the automatic software upgrade for a while. Small file sizes are ok, but wiht large downloads (more than 1 GB) comes a message (when trying to open the dmg) saying that the software couldn't be verified, wrong count (I am translating from the german message).
    Now I have downloaded and installed the Mountain Lion successfully on a macBookAir and on another iMac.
    The problem iMac won't allow anything: neither could I reinstall lion freom a dvd, nor install the combo update 10.7.4, I downloaded the mountain lion several times and never got over the first two minutes of the installation (couldn't download necessary components.
    I trief the installation after having bootet from a USB-Stick with an install dmg on the usb stick, (couldn't do it (can't download missing components).
    Now I'm at my wit's end.
    Can anybody help?
    Heidelberguser

    Yeah, I wish I could, Although everything important is backed up maually I don't back up the OS. I just want to avoid having to do a clean install.
    Digging though the net I found that re downloding the ML installer could fix it. I actually got past the "Can't download..." error message with the newly downloaded package, but then got a new error message re missing components... And that i should contact the software maufacturer...
    So right now it is "downloading additional components" Another hour to go...
    This process doesn't fill me with great confidence in my mac...

  • What are the Necessary Componentsfor  an EJB ?

    Please, I am new to EJB. I need you to answer the following questions for me:
    1. What makes a Java class an EJB?
    2. In terms of implemantaion, what are the necessary components like libararies, inherted components, etc an EJB must contain?
    Thanks
    'Femi

    You are not going to get satisfying answers when you ask such generic questions about technology for which whole books have been filled. But anyway:
    1. What makes a Java class an EJB?When it is properly annotated and packaged such that the container will manage it as an EJB instance.
    2. In terms of implemantaion, what are the necessary components like libararies, inherted components, etc an EJB must contain?You need an enterprise container such as Glassfish, JBoss, Websphere, etc. which deliver the implementation of the Java Enterprise Edition specification. Generally to compile you'd use an IDE and let it setup your project such that the proper jars of the enterprise server are added to the compile classpath of your project, but alternatively you can compile against the generic JEE API jar or use Maven with a specific set of dependencies.
    If that blew right by you: that is to be expected. You really need a decent book to get started with JEE technology, especially the EJB component.

  • Removing components post installation

    My Macbook harddrive died, and I mailed it into Apple. I borrowed a friend's Mac for school. He had done a complete re-install, and gotten his Tiger footprint in under 10 gigs. When my Mac returned, it had a footprint of around 30. Is there anyway to delete all of the un-necessary components (foreign language packs, etc) without a re-install? I can't risk a re-install right now as I'm in the middle of finals, but I'd really like to reclaim that 20 gigs of harddrive space. Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Finish your finals, and backup your data as my FAQ* says:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
    Once your data is backed up, you can follow these procedures* to clear up space:

    It is never wise to make changes right in the middle of mission critical times.

  • Quicklook no longer working with AVi files in 10.7

    Howdy,
    Mysteries abound!  Updated to 10.7, and ever since, I have been having two problems:
    1.  AVI files no longer open open using QuickLook; all I get is is the AVI icon, and the "Open in VLC" button.
    2.  The icon preview for AVI files is no longer displayed as well; only the generic VLC icon shows (and yes, I have the "Show icon preview" box cheeked in the Finder preferences).
    Is anyone else having the same problem?  Does anyone know how to remedy this?  Thanks in advance! (^_^)

    Flip4Mac (installed) and Perian (installed) provide this support. As a matter of fact, I can play AVI and WMV in Quicktime 10.2 and 7.6.6. It's the Finder or the QuickLook subsystem what has a problem.
    Besides that, having those QuickTime components installed, there are no problems in a new installation from scratch in a nother disk. But I'm trying to avoid that and to restore in Mountain Lion part of the functionality of my Mac under Snow Leopard.
    There should be a preference, cache, temp file or something like that that is impeding QuickTime or the Finder to access the necessary components to preview and quicklook AVI and WMV files.

  • Capture Web Cam image in APEX and Upload into the Database

    Overview
    By using a flash object, you should be able to interface with a usb web cam connected to the client machine. Their are a couple of open source ones that I know about, but the one I chose to go with is by Taboca Labs and is called CamCanvas. This is released under the MIT license, and it is at version 0.2, so not very mature - but in saying that it seems to do the trick. The next part is to upload a snapshot into the database - in this particular implementation, it is achieved by taking a snapshot, and putting that data into the canvas object. This is a new HTML5 element, so I am not certain what the IE support would be like. Once you have the image into the canvas, you can then use the provided function convertToDataURL() to convert the image into a Base64 encoded string, which you can then use to convert into to a BLOB. There is however one problem with the Base64 string - APEX has a limitation of 32k for and item value, so can't be submitted by normal means, and a workaround (AJAX) has to be implemented.
    Part 1. Capturing the Image from the Flash Object into the Canvas element
    Set up the Page
    Required Files
    Download the tarball of the webcam library from: https://github.com/taboca/CamCanvas-API-/tarball/master
    Upload the necessary components to your application. (The flash swf file can be got from one of the samples in the Samples folder. In the root of the tarball, there is actually a swf file, but this seems to be a different file than of what is in the samples - so I just stick with the one from the samples)
    Page Body
    Create a HTML region, and add the following:
        <div class="container">
           <object  id="iembedflash" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="320" height="240">
                <param name="movie" value="#APP_IMAGES#camcanvas.swf" />
                <param name="quality" value="high" />
              <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
                <embed  allowScriptAccess="always"  id="embedflash" src="#APP_IMAGES#camcanvas.swf" quality="high" width="320" height="240"
    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" mayscript="true"  />
        </object>
        </div>
    <p><a href="javascript:captureToCanvas()">Capture</a></p>
    <canvas style="border:1px solid yellow"  id="canvas" width="320" height="240"></canvas>That will create the webcam container, and an empty canvas element for the captured image to go into.
    Also, have a hidden unprotected page item to store the Base64 code into - I called mine P2_IMAGE_BASE64
    HTML Header and Body Attribute
    Add the Page HTML Body Attribute as:
    onload="init(320,240)"
    JavaScript
    Add the following in the Function and Global Variable Declarations for the page (mostly taken out of the samples provided)
    //Camera relations functions
    var gCtx = null;
    var gCanvas = null;
    var imageData = null;
    var ii=0;
    var jj=0;
    var c=0;
    function init(ww,hh){
         gCanvas = document.getElementById("canvas");
         var w = ww;
         var h = hh;
         gCanvas.style.width = w + "px";
         gCanvas.style.height = h + "px";
         gCanvas.width = w;
         gCanvas.height = h;
         gCtx = gCanvas.getContext("2d");
         gCtx.clearRect(0, 0, w, h);
         imageData = gCtx.getImageData( 0,0,320,240);
    function passLine(stringPixels) {
         //a = (intVal >> 24) & 0xff;
         var coll = stringPixels.split("-");
         for(var i=0;i<320;i++) {
              var intVal = parseInt(coll);
              r = (intVal >> 16) & 0xff;
              g = (intVal >> 8) & 0xff;
              b = (intVal ) & 0xff;
              imageData.data[c+0]=r;
              imageData.data[c+1]=g;
              imageData.data[c+2]=b;
              imageData.data[c+3]=255;
              c+=4;
         if(c>=320*240*4) {
              c=0;
              gCtx.putImageData(imageData, 0,0);
    function captureToCanvas() {
         flash = document.getElementById("embedflash");
         flash.ccCapture();
         var canvEle = document.getElementById('canvas');
         $s('P2_IMAGE_BASE64', canvEle.toDataURL());//Assumes hidden item name is P2_IMAGE_BASE64
         clob_Submit();//this is a part of part (AJAX submit value to a collection) two
    }In the footer region of the page (which is just a loading image to show whilst the data is being submitted to the collection [hidden by default]) :<img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#processing3.gif" id="AjaxLoading"
    style="display:none;position:absolute;left:45%;top:45%;padding:10px;border:2px solid black;background:#FFF;" />If you give it a quick test, you should be able to see the webcam feed and capture it into the canvas element by clicking the capture link, in between the two elements - it might through a JS error since the clob_Submit() function does not exist yet.
    *Part 2. Upload the image into the Database*
    As mentioned in the overview, the main limitation is that APEX can't submit values larger than 32k, which I hope the APEX development team will be fixing this limitation in a future release, the workaround isn't really good from a maintainability perspective.
    In the sample applications, there is one that demonstrates saving values to the database that are over 32k, which uses an AJAX technique: see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/packaged-apps-090453.html#LARGE.
    *Required Files*
    From the sample application, there is a script you need to upload, and reference in your page. So you can either install the sample application I linked to, or grab the script from the demonstration I have provided - its called apex_save_large.js.
    *Create a New Page*
    Create a page to Post the large value to (I created mine as 1000), and create the following process, with the condition that Request = SAVE. (All this is in the sample application for saving large values).declare
         l_code clob := empty_clob;
    begin
         dbms_lob.createtemporary( l_code, false, dbms_lob.SESSION );
         for i in 1..wwv_flow.g_f01.count loop
              dbms_lob.writeappend(l_code,length(wwv_flow.g_f01(i)),wwv_flow.g_f01(i));
         end loop;
         apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection(p_collection_name => wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection);
         apex_collection.add_member(p_collection_name => wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection,p_clob001 => l_code);
         htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;
    end;I also created a package for storing the collection name, which is referred to in the process, for the collection name:create or replace
    package
    wc_pkg_globals
    as
    g_base64_collection constant varchar2(40) := 'BASE64_IMAGE';
    end wc_pkg_globals;That is all that needs to be done for page 1000. You don't use this for anything else, *so go back to edit the camera page*.
    *Modify the Function and Global Variable Declarations* (to be able to submit large values.)
    The below again assumes the item that you want to submit has an item name of 'P2_IMAGE_BASE64', the condition of the process on the POST page is request = SAVE, and the post page is page 1000. This has been taken srtaight from the sample application for saving large values.//32K Limit workaround functions
    function clob_Submit(){
              $x_Show('AjaxLoading')
              $a_PostClob('P2_IMAGE_BASE64','SAVE','1000',clob_SubmitReturn);
    function clob_SubmitReturn(){
              if(p.readyState == 4){
                             $x_Hide('AjaxLoading');
                             $x('P2_IMAGE_BASE64').value = '';
              }else{return false;}
    function doSubmit(r){
    $x('P2_IMAGE_BASE64').value = ''
         flowSelectAll();
         document.wwv_flow.p_request.value = r;
         document.wwv_flow.submit();
    }Also, reference the script that the above code makes use of, in the page header<script type="text/javascript" src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#apex_save_large.js"></script>Assuming the script is located in workspace images, and not associated to a specific app. Other wise reference #APP_IMAGES#
    *Set up the table to store the images*CREATE TABLE "WC_SNAPSHOT"
    "WC_SNAPSHOT_ID" NUMBER NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "BINARY" BLOB,
    CONSTRAINT "WC_SNAPSHOT_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("WC_SNAPSHOT_ID")
    create sequence seq_wc_snapshot start with 1 increment by 1;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER "BI_WC_SNAPSHOT" BEFORE
    INSERT ON WC_SNAPSHOT FOR EACH ROW BEGIN
    SELECT seq_wc_snapshot.nextval INTO :NEW.wc_snapshot_id FROM dual;
    END;
    Then finally, create a page process to save the image:declare
    v_image_input CLOB;
    v_image_output BLOB;
    v_buffer NUMBER := 64;
    v_start_index NUMBER := 1;
    v_raw_temp raw(64);
    begin
    --discard the bit of the string we dont need
    select substr(clob001, instr(clob001, ',')+1, length(clob001)) into v_image_input
    from apex_collections
    where collection_name = wc_pkg_globals.g_base64_collection;
    dbms_lob.createtemporary(v_image_output, true);
    for i in 1..ceil(dbms_lob.getlength(v_image_input)/v_buffer) loop
    v_raw_temp := utl_encode.base64_decode(utl_raw.cast_to_raw(dbms_lob.substr(v_image_input, v_buffer, v_start_index)));
    dbms_lob.writeappend(v_image_output, utl_raw.length(v_raw_temp),v_raw_temp);
    v_start_index := v_start_index + v_buffer;
    end loop;
    insert into WC_SNAPSHOT (binary) values (v_image_output); commit;
    end;Create a save button - add some sort of validation to make sure the hidden item has a value (i.e. image has been captured). Make the above conditional for request = button name so it only runs when you click Save (you probably want to disable this button until the data has been completely submitted to the collection - I haven't done this in the demonstration).
    Voila, you should have now be able to capture the image from a webcam. Take a look at the samples from the CamCanvas API for extra effects if you wanted to do something special.
    And of course, all the above assumed you want a resolution of 320 x 240 for the image.
    Disclaimer: At time of writing, this worked with a logitech something or rather webcam, and is completely untested on IE.
    Check out a demo: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=trents_demos:webcam_i (my image is a bit blocky, but i think its just my webcam. I've seen others that are much more crisp using this) Also, just be sure to wait for the progress bar to dissappear before clicking Save.
