AC Adapter for Equium M50-163?

My AC adapter for the Equium M50-163 basically melted, however, I can't seem to find a suitable replacement part (my model's not even listed on the site it seems). Does anybody know what would be a compatible replacement for it?
Kind regards.

Hi
I wonder why you did not find the right AC adaptor for this notebook.
Do you know the Toshiba European Options & Accessories site?
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ -> Products -> Options & Accessories
There you can choose the right notebook and you will get these parts listed:
AC Adapter (19V, 3.42A, 65W, 3-pin) PA3467E-1AC3
AC Adapter (19V, 3.95A, 75W, 3-pin) PA3468E-1AC3
AC Adapter, 15V DC, 5A, 75W, 3-Pin PA3378E-3AC3
Hope I could help ;)

  • Need drivers for Equium M50

    Hi,
    I have an equium M50-216 PSM57E that im trying to repair for a friend, he did a clean boot of XP but didn't back up the drivers, and now im trying to find the network controller driver, as well as two video adapter one of which is (VGA) to get things up and running again.
    Anyone know where I can find these drivers? As its driving me crazy trying to find them!
    Thanks in advance
    Ben

    > have downloaded all drivers off the Toshiba website for said laptop, and still i have the 4 drivers not installed.
    You dont say what drivers you need so I can only say that the Toshiba European driver page provides a Installation Instructions txt file.
    There you can find all drivers which must be installed.
    Check the whole list and you will find out what drivers are missing or haven't been installed

  • Recommends memory for Equium M50-164 does not fit

    I have the Equium M50-164 in its original configuration.
    I wanted to add more memory so, on the recommendation of the Toshiba Product Support page, I purchased the Toshiba PA3411S-2M1G memory module (from eBuyer).
    http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/individualOptions.do?service=UK&OPTION_ID=118626&t oshibaShop=true&selCategory=4700
    On attempting to fit the memory module into my machine, I found that it does not fit! The plastic 'divider' between the two contacts in the laptop does not match the position of the notch between the two sets of pins on the memory module.
    Tosh recommends Part Number: PA3411S-2M1G 1024MB (1GB) Memory PC2-4300 DDR2 (533MHz)
    The memory that arrived has PA3411S-2M1G 1024MB (1GB) Memory PC2-4200 DDR2 (533MHz) on the box.
    Someone in the forums says PC2700 PA3313U-2M1G is the part number.
    The manual that came with the M50 states that PC2700 memory is required.
    Does anyone know the correct part number, or a suitable alternative by a different manufacturer?
    I'm quite annoyed, as the support helpline suggested I phone their Sales department! So they can sell me more incorrect memory modules?!? Now looking forward to the running the returns gauntlet with eBuyer...
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hi there,
    I believe its annoying since they told you the wrong information. I wish you good luck for returning the memory module, maybe you can also try to sell it to another ebayer.
    Regarding your memory: I agree with Ghost UK, you have to use DDR1 memory and not DDR2.
    Dont forget to assign some reward points to GhostUK, I think he would appreciate it. ;)
    Cheers guys

  • Equium M50-163 has sound problems - permanent echo

    As the title suggests, my Toshiba laptop has some problems with sound. For almost a good 7 months now (I think I got used to the sound, I don't hear an "echo anymore) my laptop sound, be it music or speaking in a movie, has a permanent 'echo' sound (as if the sound was on hall mode).
    There is also little to no bass. I've tried adjusting the sound settings but nothing helps, and it isn't the laptop speakers because the sound is the same with external speakers connected to my laptop.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks so much

    Hi
    Do you have this echo effect only watching movies or did you notice this playing games or streaming a video from the internet???
    From my experience many different 3rd party applications support additional sound effects. Such settings could be responsible for you echo.
    I can remember also that the M50 series supports the virtual sound software. This little program changes sound effects too.
    Check this. You should find it in the Toshiba Utilities folder.
    As far as I know you can change the sound settings for built-in speakers, external speakers and headphones
    Choose the built-in speakers and opens details settings.
    There are some options which could create the echo effect

  • I need drivers for Equium M50-216

    Please assist me.
    I am having problem getting my model drivers on your site. I upgraded my o/s to windows vista and the sound just stops working.
    Please, what should I do?

    You can find drivers in ARCHIVE. So open Toshiba download page and under Product type choose ARCHIVE. Problem is that your notebook is not supported for Vista and you will not find sound driver there.
    I found info your notebook has Realtek ALC 250 AC97 sound card.
    Try to find Vista driver on Realtek support page. Please let me know if you found it.

  • Equium M50: Which cable can I use to connect to TV?

    I want to hook my computer up to my TV. I went into my local computer shop but they showed me about 5 different cables and I had no idea which one would work best or work at all. Can anybody advise me on which cable would work for my computer the Equium M50-192? Or can I even buy such a cable online?
    Thanks in advance.

    The cable you need is S-Video however not all TV/Video equipment provide full S-Video support resulting in a black and white image. This minor issue can be resolved using a S-Video to Composite adapter such as one sold by Maplin at the sacrifice of quality

  • Equium M50 will not recognise the LAN port - error: Network Cable unplugged

    I own a Toshiba Equium M50 and have problems with the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.
    I used to connect via an 'ADDON' Modem/ADSL Switch and had no problems. I then replaced the ADDON with a 'NETGEAR' DG834G ADSL Modem/Router to gain the wireless port, and since then my machine will not recognise the LAN port. <error: Network Cable unplugged>.
    I know that the cables are OK as I used them with other laptops and had no trouble. I can also plug in a PCI card to connect without any problems. It looks to me as if the Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller has a problem with the netgear Modem/Router.
    Anyone out there with a similar experience and some advice/suggestions?
    PLEASE

    Hi
    For me it doesnt show like a LAN card problem but your router is a problem.
    Check the device manager if the LAN card was properly recognized. If there are no yellow exclamation marks so everything is ok!
    You can try to delete the LAN card from the device manager and after new reboot install the LAN driver again.
    The issue has stared after installing or connecting the new Netgear modem router.
    Therefore I would recommend to checking firstly the settings or to update the firmware on this router.
    I have found additionally these useful websites

  • Equium M50 - Touchpad issue using Win XP home

    Equium M50 sm59E with XP home
    I went from everything fine to an optional update from ideacom from windows knocking out my touchpad and keyboard (lots of other people have done the same and their is a growing army of us growing ) I have resorted to a new install that i have done twice now .............
    I have got the keyboard working in that if you start up then put in stand by.
    Then bring out of stand by. The keyboard stays on (if you dont ....then when you press a key it nocks the keyboard out ).
    The touchpad i was puzzled as it wasnt even showing in device manager even though i got the relevant driver from toshiba download site.
    But then i found it as a hidden device in device manager with a *!* on it and it says the driver is either not installed, not working, or the wrong one.
    I also have none usb devices as hidden devices that are all ok except one that says, serial, but it has no option for to install a driver .
    I read somewhere that a man had the same problem with XP and he used a download of Toshiba for downgrading OS and that worked for him but he cannot find it now .
    This is reported to be a problem because of human interface updates that are messing up keyboards and touchpads ...................due to touch screen softwares in updates .
    Can anyone help me out here i'm at all time low now and have exausted all avenues

    This horrible driver crippled my friend's PC with Windows Vista even uninstalling the device driver does not restore the functionality of the mouse. According to some sources it disables the PS/2 port so just how to restore this I'm not sure without further investigation.
    For now a System Restore is the only feasible way to restore the mouse the only problem is not everyone is familiar using the keyboard for navigating but for the most part it would involve cursor keys, tab key, and the space bar.

    Hi have a Equium M50-244 with a problem. Seems to work fine but suddenly goes to blue screen with message:
    A problem has been detected has been shut down to prevent damage.
    The problem seems to be caused by following file ati2dvag.dll
    If this is the first time you have seen this stop screen restart computer if this screen appears again take these steps
    The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop this usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.

    Of course there could be a fault with chipset but diagnostics does not identify any problems. If I run windows in safe mode display is ok.
    Other forums seem to report similar problems with this model and ATI chipset, but no-one seems to have solution. Can anyone help?

    Hi
    Check this thread http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=16605
    By the way: the Internet is full with such discussions but the fact is that this happen on different desktops and laptops. It has nothing to do with YOUR notebook model directly.

  • Equium M50-164: IE not displaying pages correctly

    I have a Toshiba new Equium M50-164, but it will not display my internet page correctly at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/lorne.anderson/Bridge/
    It should look like this:
    http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/lorne.anderson/NormalView.gif
    with the Bridge anaylser logo in the header but on my Toshiba it looks like this:
    http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/lorne.anderson/ToshibaView.gif
    I have 4 other computers that all display it correctly (running XP,2000,98SE) and several friends say they can see it OK. If I look at the unlying html code via right click and view source in IE the bit that displays the logo should read:
    "align="left"></p>
    </td>
    <td width="610" align="center" height="65"><a href="../index.html" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="Images/Bridge%20Analyser.gif" width="311" height="57" align="left" alt="Opens my software home page to see more programs">
    </a>
    <font face="Arial Rounded MT Bold" color="#000080">
    <a href="../index.html">
    but on the Toshiba view source displays:
    "align="left"></p>
    </td>
    <td width="610" align="center" height="65"><a href="../index.html" target="_blank">
    </a>
    <font face="Arial Rounded MT Bold" color="#000080">
    <a href="../index.html">
    Note the 2 blank line where the code to show the logo should be. If I open the page from files on my hard disk it display correctly so my guess is that Toshiba have done something to overide default IE security settings but I can't see what. How can I get IE on my Toshiba to work the way Microsoft designed it to work?
    Just as a check, can anyone using this forum read the page correctly or do you also get the missing logo?

    Out of curiosity are you running any toolbars, add-ons or content filtering for IE?? As you pointed out the source code isn't the same as the original it's been altered and since the <IMG> html tag is missing that would explain why Internet Explorer isn't loading the image.
    I can't see anything particularly wrong with the code however your filename does have a space in it "%20" and might be triggering some kind of content filtering.
    As a suggestion rename the image file removing the space then update your html page and try again.
