Ac adapter for hp simplesave model MD2000h

lost or misplaced my ac adapter for hp simplesave  model MD2000h.  The external HD does not have any spec requirements written by the serial/model number.  I don't remember how the ac adapter looks like either.  Help?

Hi Silvana,
To find the right adapter there are a couple of ways we can do that. First, I found a link to the user guides for your external drive and from the User Manual I got support information. Their website is http://hpsupport.wdc.com and their toll free phone number is 1-866-444-7407. Try contacting them and they should be able to tell you the correct adapter.
Link to User Guides:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=4023092&
You can use the actual product number which you should be able find on a sticker on the external hard drive or the box it came in. If you find that product number you can order the part from HP Parts Store and I have included a link below.

I believe that your best option would be to contact their support.

    Model No. A1021
Cord seems to be fine, just need the brick.
    Thank you!!

The '12 PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz now uses the same power adapter as your iBook G4 does. The '12 PowerBook G4s originally shipped with the 45 power adapter brick Model A1022 but they started catching fire so Apple immediately recalled them. Just tell who you talk you on Apple's Support hotline that you want the power adapter that the '12 PowerBook G4 or iBook G4 uses.

  • What is the correct part number for dvi to vga adapter for macbook pro model A1260

Can someone tell me the Apple part number for the DVI to VGA adapter that came with a Macbook Pro model A1260? (Early 2008)
My adapter has reached the end of useful life.
    Thanks!

You have a MacBook Pro 15" Early 2009 (MacBook Pro 4,1)
The Mac's port is a Dual-link DVI (VGA, Composite and S-video with adapter)
The DVI connector  connects to the Dual link-DVI port, thus you need a DVI to VGA adapter.

You also can search the Apple store online for the part, but it's so basic and simple that paying more for Apple's version is just for looks.

  • Mag safe adapter for macbook pro 15 inch mid 2009 model

is it safe to  use a 60 watts mag safe adapter for my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2009 model. i went to istore to have a battery replacement and they advice me to change my 60 watts mag safe to 85 watts because it is not compatible.....

    use the 85w charger.
"Power adapters for Intel-based Apple notebooks are available in 45W, 60W, and 85W varieties. Although you should always use the proper wattage adapter for your Apple notebook, you can use an adapter of a higher wattage without issue.
For instance If you have a MacBook (13-inch Late 2009) that normally uses a 60W adapter, you can also use an 85W adapter with that computer. You would not use a 45W adapter with that computer; it would not provide enough power for that MacBook. "

  • HP SimpleSave 2TB md2000h Software missing

I have a HP SimpleSave 2TB External Hard Drive (md2000h), it has stopped working properly after a recent reformat. The Application Back-Up Software no longer loads when i execute HP Launcher.exe, it appears to be missing. it is over 2 Years old, so out of warranty, tried all of the HP support options for this item, but there is no longer an option for Software/Driver downloads listed for the HP SimpleSave 2TB md2000h External Hard Drive? Has any one got any solutions or options where to get the Original HP Automatic Backup Software.exe download from for the HP SimpleSave 2TB model?

Welcome back to the HP Community Forum.
I have a copy from my own SimpleSave Drive of the software that you can download --
    Version 1.0.2.36
    SimpleSave_HP_Software –BlackCat_1-2TB_V1-0-2-36
Understand this archive is not from HP -- that source is no longer available.  This is from my personal Archive.  The only reason the Archive contains the name "BlackCat" is to emphasize the "Non HP" source -- and because the Drive from which it was removed was called "BlackCat".
The software was never used, by the way.  I can attest only to it's availability and that it is clean of "bugs and dirt".  I never used the program; the hard drive was used as external archive until its failure a few months or so back.
The download / software matches that of another HP Expert's Archive -- we were hoping to find an HP source and compared notes a few months back.  The HP site is closed and HP software is not any longer available for download from HP.
I would strongly suggest that when you can get to the data on the disk again that you do so and then copy the data to another external drive.  Do not any longer depend on this Drive - certainly the software is not any longer supported and should not be used longer than absolutely necessary.

It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

  • HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer.  I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1.  I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available.  I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

    Hi @Raider83,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode.  It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.
Thank you for posting, and have a nice day!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • AC Adapter for T430 -- which FRU to choose

I just purchased an extra adapater for my T430, as well as a docking station.  I used the wizard on the site to select the ac adapater, but noticed that the FRU/Part Number differs from the one that came with the laptop.  All three adapaters (the one that came with the laptop, the extra one I got from Lenovo, and the one that came with the dock station), all have similar output voltages (20V at 4.5A), but the input voltages vary slightly (the original one is 1.2A input at 50/60hz, whereas the two other ones are rated at 1.5A at 50/60hz.  Is this slight difference a concern?
I mainly don't want to risk burning out the laptop.  But again, these are the adapaters that were suggested by Lenovo's site.  They all output the same amount (the 20V at 4.5A).
Should I be concerned.  I cannot seem to find a Lenovo branded AC adapater that exactly matches the FRU / Part number of the one that came with my computer.  Does that FRU maybe indiciate that it was bundled with a computer and NOT sold separately as an additional adapater.
Suggestions, ideas, opinions?  Am I ok to use the other adapaters that I purchased even though the input rating is slightly higher and the FRU/Part numbers are different?  (All power adapaters are the 90W models, which my computer requires since i have the NVidia NVS Quadro video card with nVidia Optimus technology).
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As long as you have a genuine Lenovo 90W (20V x 4.5A) adapter you should  be fine. I don't know why the input current draws differ. It may be that the circuitry in one is more efficient than in the other. Nevertheless what's important is the output voltage and current (or wattage) rating,
Many people use adapters from their previous ThinkPad as an extra adapter for their new one. People in office environments often use each other's adapters, either intentionally or by accident. This sort of interchangeability is common. If it caused damage to ThinkPads then that too would be a common situation and there would be warnings about the risk of swapping adapters. I've never seen either.
Incidentally, even a smaller 65W adapter will power your T430 under most circumstances. But it's simply not powerful enough to power your T430 under all circumstances, e.g. if you're running CPU/GPU intensive work while watching a DVD and charging the battery, all at the same time.
    Cheers... Dorian Hausman

  • Common power adapter for Macbook Air and Macbook Pro?

I have both a Macbook Air and a Macbook Pro at home, and it would be really nice to have one magsafe adapter by the couch rather than two...
I have actually tried the Air 45w adapter on my Pro and it works fine as long as the Pro is not fully discharged. If the Pro is unable to start up on battery, it's also unable to start up on the 45w AC. But otherwise it seems fine.
In the reverse direction, normally I use the 85w Pro adapter for both the Pro and the Air. That also works fine; the drawback there is that, since the Air receptacle is mounted at an angle, and the magsafe connector on the Pro adapter is straight-ahead, I have to put the Air on a pillow and even so the connector comes out frequently.
The obvious solution would be an 85W adapter with an Air-style right-angle connector. I find the angled connector is not a problem at all on the Pro.
    A few questions therefore:
    1) Am I doing any damage, in either direction, using the 45W adapter on Pro or using 85W on Air? My guess is that the adapter and the system are smart enough that it's not a problem. Put another way, I suspect the designers accounted for the possibility that idiots like me would plug one computer's adapter into a different model, and they made sure it was not harmful. But that's speculation on my part. Anyone got any real information?
    2) I have done the obvious web search and can't find an 85w with a right-angle magsafe connector. Am I missing something obvious?
    3) My next step is to snip both cords and splice an Air connector onto a Pro adapter. I'm not super handy so it will probably be kind of an ugly job. Anyone got any suggestions on the cleanest way to do this?

    Hi Ottosmo!
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    1) While it's certainly recommended to use the appropriate wattage on the charger, I too have often found myself using a MacBook Pro (85w) and MacBook (60w) with my MacBook Air. I've yet to encounter an issue in the almost 10 months I've been using my Air. The wattage on the power adapter, to my knowledge, is an indication to the amount of potential power that the charger can deliver to the unit. I know I've read various "blogs and forums" indicating that the power adapter is smart enough to 'scale' back power appropriately.
Now with that being said... should something happen, for whatever the reason, with you using the non-supplied adapter then you'd be taking matters into your own hands. (take that as my own little disclaimer)
    2) Correct, the 85w adapter does not come with the right angle adapter. The adapter on the 24" LED Cinema Display does have a right angle adapter that supports up to 85w. But I realize that's not what you asked.
    3) Regarding "modifying" the cabling. I'd strongly recommend against it, especially if you don't feel comfortable with splicing and then insulating. Too much room for chance and potential problem/failure. If someone else wants to instruct you on how to do this, that'll be their prerogative.
I ended up purchasing an iLap 13" for using my MacBook Air. It's been fantastic and I have it set off to the side just enough to allow plenty of room for a MacBook or MacBook Pro adapter. Not to mention it allows me to easily use the Air in my lap without any ventilation issues.
