AC Adapter port question.

Hello, all.
I have a wonderful iBook G4 which I love very much. A couple of weeks ago, it was charging on the table when a commotion happened, and the AC adapter got ripped out of the adapter port. The ibook will no longer take a charge, as there is apparently a good deal of damage to the actual AC adapter port.
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me, is the AC adapter port integrated into the motherboard? I'm taking it in for repairs at CompUSA. They want $169 to fix it, plus parts. If the adapter port is integrated into the motherboard, that will necessitate replacing the entire motherboard, which would be very costly. If it is a stand alone piece, I would feel much better.
Unfortunately, CompUSA will not tell me this until I give them 170 bucks. I would like to know beforehand what I'm looking at.
Any help?

Hi Zack,
No, the DC-In-Board is not a part of the main logic board. It's a fairly inexpensive part. Around $50 or so.

  • Replacing the MacBook Pro Power Adapter Port

There's a short in the adapter port. I have to keep the cord sitting just perfectly to make sure it's running off the adapter or off the battery. The battery has needed to be replaced for a while so when the adapter shorts and it switches to battery power it will shut down before I notice.
Any idea on how expensive it is to replace this adapter? I've never had anything on the inside of my macbook repaired. I bought this 4 years ago so I'm hoping it's not the end.
    Thanks.

  • Power adapter port frying power adapter?

    sequences of events:
    1) travel with madsonline power adapter, months ago when plugged in, cord is yanked, bent the met ring around the male part of the adapter, pried it back to a sort of circular shape, fits back in adapter port and with proper placement charges machine
    2) after months of using original apple adapter at home, always detected and charges, and the madsonline on the road, with some proper setting into the adapter port will charge, when on the road the machine stopped detecting the power adapter
    3) bought new apple brand power adapter, plugged into port, circle is green but machine did not detect the adapter, no charge
    4) went to local apple sales and repair place (not an apple store) and while there, using another adapter, machine detects and charges (the tech at store heard some sort of short or electrical event when connecting), then I used my new adapter and worked, recall slight short/shock noise, the old madsonline did not show anything.
    5) came home, new adapter plugged in, ring goes orange, goes to full charge, remove the adapter and there is a noise like a short, pluge it back in and the adapter ring has no light, machince does not detect adapter.
Q1) Could it be that the damange to the adapter port killed the madsonline and now killed my new apple adapter?
Q2) Since it appeared an adapter we used at the store also made that electrical noise, may replace the 3 day old apple adapter with a new one but if it just shorts another one I guess it is the DC-in adapter port. Anyone guess that this behavior means a replacement for the adapter port?
Sorry for the long story, looking for some feedback or confirmation if anyone has had this type of behavior.
    thanks
    Craig

    update to story, day 2
    1) went to store where bought the adapter, they tried it on a display model and it worked fine so assumed my port on my machine was bad
    2) get home, power down the machine, plug in the adapter and it works, and is working, charging. I still heard some type of pop when connecting it to the machine so something must not be totally correct.
    3) saw the DT&T service as an option, was going to ship it but will determine if there is a way for me to connect and unconnect the power without losing the ability to charge (i.e. always when powered down?)
    I have reset the PMU.
Any suggestions for attaining more reliable power connection or if anyone has this behavior?
    thanks

  • Adaptive RFC question

I have a general question: could you tell me the reason why the RFCs to be called in JAVA Web Dynpro should be designed transferring the table values in the "Tables" parameter tab and not the "Import" and "Export" parameter tabs?

    Re: Adaptive RFC question

    Hi Tania,
You need to know first what is import parameter, export parameter and table parameter.
Import enables you to pass single set of values. Export enables you export single set of values. When you have data that is collection of n number of sets of data, use Table (Stucture) for import or export.
    E.G.
Suppose, you are trying to see result of a student by Importing roll number of the student. You can use Export parameter to display result (a single set).
But if you want to see reuslts for n number of students by inputing n number of roll numbers, you need to use table structure for inputing the roll numbers and outputing the results.
An ABAP developer needs to document these parameters so that the WebDynpro developer can understand what are input tables and what are output tables.
Need to know more ? let me know.

  • XI- Xi Scenario XI Adapter (Port Issue)

    Hi all
              we are implementating <b>File - XIA--|Internet|--
    XIB -File</b>.
At XIA i am using XI Adapter(receiver)
                      Message protocal HTTPS
At  XIB I am using XI Adapter(sender)
                     Messaage protocal HTTP
    Now the issue is
XIA is using HTTPS protocal , that means it will post data
to port 443 ( HTTPS Port)
But at XIB message protocal is HTTP.
<b>So which port at XIB we need to open  HTTP port or HTTPS port</b>
Note: Both XI are at different landscape.
receiver : XIA  communication channel to post data to XIB.
sender :  XIB  communication channel to receive data from XIA

  • SOAP adapter: port, logging/tracing, http/https

    Hi,
    several questions concerning SOAP adapter:
    SAP XI 3.0 SP19 used.
    <b>Scenario 1:</b>
    SOAP request adressing J2EE port
    http://host:8000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=Partner:Service:SOAPSenderChannel
    <b>Scenario 2:</b>
    SOAP request adressing ABAP port
    http://host:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=Partner:Service:SOAPSenderChannel
    <b>Question 1:</b>
What happens with a SOAP request adressed to the ABAP port?
Obviously it is forwarded to the J2EE port but where is this forwarding function documented
and is it allowed in every case to send SOAP messages to ABAP port?
    <b>Question 2:</b>
What logging and tracing functionalities do i have in both scenarios before the message enters (before RWB)?
E.g. where can i see unsuccessful requests (e.g. if there is mistyping in SenderChannel).
Then it not visible in Runtime Workbench but whereelse?
If the ABAP port is adressed i see something in SMICM trace file, but very cryptic and not conclusive.
Do you know further trace/log files for both scenarios (Visual Admin?) ?
    <b>Question 3:</b>
What is the difference if https is used concerning logs and traces?
Do i have more or less possibilities?
Thank you very much in advance for comments.
    Michael

    Hi
The URL sent to the ABAP port and the J2EE port are different.
The URL to the ABAP port is documented in this blog by Stefan,
    /people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/09/21/using-the-soap-inbound-channel-of-the-integration-engine
    http://<server>:<ABAP-port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<YourService>&Interface=<YourNamespace>%5E<YourInterface>
Answering question 1 --> As the URL are different, the Request in case of the ABAP stack hits the Integration Engine directly - into the pipeline of XI and bypassed the Adapter Engine competely.
As stefan's blog states - you cannot post multipart SOAP request to the IE directly.
Question 2  - If the URL is incorrect, if the request hits XI then you will have the log in XI  ( in MONI in case of ABAP port ) and in RWB -Message Monitroing ( in case of J2EE port)

  • HTML (XI) adapter port

Hi, I have configured scenario with sender HTML adapter and RFC receiver adapter. When I run the test tool in ID, everything seems to be fine. My problem is, how (or where) I can find out the port value, on which third-party application should send an XML message to SAP XI. I have downloaded the testing tool (Client Http Adapter for XI 3.0) so I know how url address should be formated, the only question is the port value. Is this configurable? If yes, where? if no, is there a way how to find out the port value? Or the port value is the same on all SAP XI instalations? (if so, what is the port value?)
    Thank you very much.

It should work ideally as mentioned here.

  • Catch Soap fault in HTTP send adapter port

    Hi All,
I am using BizTalk HTTP adapter to call webserice . But HTTP send port is returning HTTP 500 internal server error and couldn't show the actual soap fault which webserice is returning (I confirmed that the webservice is returning the soap fault by using
    WCF port).
I gone through the link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa561642(BTS.20).aspx
But don't know the exact steps to subscribe NACK.
Please anybody can guide me to subscribe NACK.
    Regards
    Kundan

    Hi Kundan,
Refer the following article on guidance in catching SOAP faults in orchestration.
How to handle Fault Message in BizTalk server
Also ensure you have proper exception handling around sending request to web service.
I understand that you have seen SOAP fault being returned when you used WCF port. But during the development phase, I would use tools like Fiddler to see the message packets
exchanged between BizTalk and Web service. This would shed some lights on whether received message is a SOAF fault or HTTP-500 error.
Using BizTalk with Fiddler (Though this article used WCF adapter for demonstrating
the Fiddler usage, this also applies to HTTP adapter)

  • IMac Adapter Out Questions (Mini-DVI to VGA)

    Hi everyone,
I've got a 2.4ghz C2D 24" iMac. For two years I had the iMac hooked up to my LCD tv via this route: iMac -> Mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter -> 75' VGA Cable -> LCD TV. I recently upgraded my TV, and no longer have a VGA port on the TV. I'm not looking to replace any cables because it's quite costly, and at this point in my life I'm not willing to spend that much to replace the setup.
My new TV has a DVI-D port on it. This is a very random connection, and yes, it is DVI-D (NOT DVI-I or DVI-A). What I'm wondering is if I get another adapter, a DVI-D male to VGA female adapter, will the iMac recognize the TV? I'm not sure how the video card treats the exterior Apple Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and am wondering if a simple $5 adapter will suffice.
Any help or information regarding this would be great.

That is a common adapter and it works, but the way it works is digital-to-analog. In other words, you plug the male DVI end into your computer and the female VGA end into the VGA cable (which then goes to your monitor/TV/whatever). Unfortunately it would not work if you went DVI(Mac)-to VGA cable-to DVI(TV) because it cannot convert the analog signal back into digital.
Those adapters are handy to have anyway so you could always buy one and try it out, but I'm sure you'll just get a blank screen (or the dreaded "no signal" message). Sorry

Hello, I am interested in buying this week of a mac mini 2011 withintel graphics HD3000 but I'm not sure it looks good with my Samsung SyncMaster 933HD monitor. How would it look better.... with the hdmi-dvi connection built in, buying a HDMI 1.3 cable and HDMI-making or buying an adapter hdmi display port - vga and connected through the port thunderbolt

  • Another port question - multiple Macs behind the same firewall

I've searched for this issue, but I can't seem to find a topic directly on point. I know how to forward the right points for this to work, but...
I'm coming from outside the network, and I need to control multiple machines that are behind the same firewall. I can't forward a port to more than one machine. How do I control all these machines?

To be able to connect to a workstation from outside it's network, the ports that ARD uses must be open on both ends of the connection. ARD uses ports 3293 and 5900 so those must be open.
If your workstations get their addresses from an NAT device rather than being "real", as seems to be the case from your description, the ports also need to be forwarded in the router to the workstation's internal IP address. ARD uses port 3283 for the reporting and updating function, so if your Macs are getting their IP addresses through NAT, since you can only forward a port to a single workstation, you can only get reports, push package/files to etc. for a single workstation.
ARD uses the VNC protocol for observation and control, though, and there are a range of IP addresses for that protocol, starting with 5900. ARD uses 5900 by default, so that port would be forwarded to the first workstation. You would, I believe, need to install VNC servers on the systems (since the ARD client cannot listen on any port other than 5900 while VNC servers can be set for other ports such as 5901, 5902, etc. You would then forward 5901 to the second workstation (and on to 5902, 5903, etc.). You can then use the following information:
Remote Desktop 2: How to specify a port number for a VNC client
    to connect.
    Hope this helps.

  • AS2 over HTTP Send port question.

I have an application that builds and  sends flat and EDI files to FTP, FILE, SqlAdapter send ports and now they want AS2 over an HTTP port, I understand the AS2 settings (using party resolution, etc.) what I don't get is how/what exactly is receiving
the message on the other side... They don't have a web service nor a page, I created a site to test but what do I do? Send an edi file to a url????
    Bico Bielich

From your question I understand, you have been asked to send message through AS2. Do they also going to receive message through AS2 from their party? Is your question is about how to receive the message through AS2 which you also want to send over AS2?
    You can configure
BTSHTTPReceive.dll to receive messages over HTTP and configure the Receive location with AS2 EDI pipeline component to receive messages over AS2 into BizTalk which can be subscribed by your send port filter or Orchestration ( if you have any process
to be applied before sending the message over AS2 send).
Check the Tutorial-3 part of AS2 which illustrate an example which receives an AS2 message through BTSHTTPReceive.dll.
    Tutorial 3: AS2 Tutorial
And following references shall help you configure the BTSHTTPReceive.dll:

  • Essbase1113 IP Address and Port Questions

    hello,
everyone, i'm puzzled on a question about essbase.
it'll be so kind if you give me some suggestions.
in our project, we install EMP System 1113 on Win Server2003, but it's in local network. there is no problem when we connect it using client tools in local network environment.
however, we wanna connect the Essbase Server through Internet, we map the server address (such as 10.163.163.163) as an Internet address (such as 111.111.111.111).
we didn't use VPN such tools, and, the address is just a mapping, if we don't map the port, we couldn't connect the essbase server.
here comes the question, how do we map the essbase address and port ? i mean which port should we use, so that we could connect it through Internet ?
    thank you so much.
    wish to reply.

  • Sender JDBC Adapter : Urgent Question

    Hi,
I am working on a Oracle - XI - R/3 scenario.  This scenario is working fine currently.  The question that I have is what if I more than 500,000 records existing in the oracle table, then how many records will be picked up by the adapter when it polls the Oracle table .   Will it try to pick up all the records, or does it pick up records in small packages..Can I set up the  package size somewhere ??
I havent found an option in the adapter as such, and do not have high volumes of data in the Oracle table  yet, so havent been able to run tests myself.
    Thanks a lot
    Any help will be appreciated

    Bhavesh, Tim, Sandro ..
Thanks for giving me ideas in getting my issue resolved.  I think I have the solution finally.  I controlled the data being selected using the
SQL Query Statement " select * from zbwxi where  rownum < 5000 and readflag = 'U' "  and in the
    update sql statement I put " update zbwxi set READFLAG = 'P' where rownum < 5000  and readflag = 'U' .
ZBWXI was by Oracle table which has a field called readflag.
I have run a few tests and the results look good to me ..
Let me know if you need explanation on why this worked ..
    thanks for all your help

  • SOAP Adapter (Ports and Interfaces)

Is it true that for every single interface, a new soap adapter needs to be configured? Can one soap adapter handle many interfaces?
Do I need one port for each interface or can I use one port for multiple interfaces. (note, I am using Soap Adapter)
Thanks in advance for your responses

When you are talking about "ports", I assume, that you are using the J2SE Adapter Framework.
Yes, you need a seperate Soap Adapter module (or in XI 3.0 J2EE Adapter Framework a seperate channel) for each interface and for each SOAP Adapter Module you need a different port.
