AC adaptor/charger Palm V.

Does anyone out there know where I can find an AC adaptor/charger for an old beloved PALM V?. I am desperate.  The PAlm does not seem to be charging in the cradle using the USB connection
to my computer.  The red light that I think was always on is not on.  It is synching but the battery is dying for real.....

Sure, you'll just install the new Palm Desktop software which comes with the new device right on top of your existing installation.  It will recognize the existing installation and migrate all of the data.  There are a few easy steps to take to upgrading, which mainly involves renaming the Backup folder in your device's Palm folders on your desktop.   Then, you can sync your new device to your existing Hotsync ID, and import all of the data, without also importing certain system and preference files which could harm your new Palm.  This thread discusses the upgrade procedure and links you to the Upgrade Guide:

As for which new Palm handheld, there are three of them which are in an ever-shrinking supply because Palm is no longer producing them.  The TX is the top of the line and lists for $299 in the Palm Store (currently comes wtih a free XM sattelite radio for your car...or find it cheaper on amazon.com).  Next is theh $200 E2 which is now out of stock in the Palm Store but is available elsewhere if you look for it.  Lastly is the Z22 which is the $99 entry model.  Small screen, no expansion card slot.
Good luck.

It rained in my window last night, on my power strip.  My macbook adaptor (charger) and iphone adaptor were both plugged into the strip.  The power strip is dead.  Iphone is fine.  Macbook will not boot up and charger light doesn't go on. I borrowed another charger and still no luck.  What should I do?  (Charger wasn't plugged into Macbook until I dried it off.)

And, don't think that just because it was two teaspoons and not a glassful that there is a difference.
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
    Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
    Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage.

  • Sparking ac adaptor/charger

Even tough it has always seemed to work ok, there is often a slight spark at the outlet when I plug in my ac adaptor/charger Any thoughts?

Not a problem. Almost anything you plug into an AC outlet (or unplug from it) may do the same thing at the moment when contact is made or broken. It's most noticeable in a darkened room.

  • Charging Palm Treo Pro (Vodafone - UK)

Have now had two treo pros that have had issues charging.
Palm had full charge - went to Europe - wouldn't charge.  Tried to charge once home using Socket charger and Car Charger to no avail.  Only charges if plugged into laptop.

If I may ask where did you buy this device? Was it in the States? If so do you have a voltage converter? It could be the charging adaptor you are using is the wrong one for the device.

  • HT4061 My iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped charging even though I have used different cables and adaptors. The cables adaptors charge another phone so nothing wrong at that end

My iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped charging. Have used three different cables and adaptors to no avail. The cables charge other phones so something wrong with the phone only. Need advice on possible solutions?

    Always try
    a reset then
a restore first with back up then as new ,as required
If still no improvement visit Apple Store genius bar
BUT first check there is no debris in charging socket

  • Using power adaptor charger while playing iPod

I have a charger for my iPod Mini. I think it's called a "USB-based power adaptor." When I got it about a year ago it cost about $20. Uses a cable for the iPod into it and then plugs into a standard outlet.
I am also able to run my iPod through one of my more high-end stereo systems. A great advantage, particularly for "home recording," to listen and get full stereo sound.
    The question is:
Can I use the charger adaptor while the iPod is playing? Either through the stereo system or using the iPod just by itself?
It would seem that should be no problem. Wouldn't it be the same principle as using an iPod "dock?"
If I can do this, the nice thing would be that I could keep my iPod fully charged while playing. Either through the stereo system or playing just the iPod alone.
Could any harm be done by doing this?
    Thanks in advance.

In theory, it shouldn't do any harm. The reason I added the qualifier is that its possible that a non-Apple charger could in some way, not be quite up to spec and could behave oddly. Of course, Apple chargers can go bad, too. iPods will stop accepting a charger once they are fully charged. I have used chargers while my iPod has been connected to speakers with no difficulty and no harm to the iPod.

  • Charger / power adaptor gone!

looks like it. From past couple of months it didn't charge the booklet straightaway. I had to carefully align the cable in some perticular way till the power LED brightened up. A slight movement & it used to lose contact. But today it stopped completely. - where could the problem be? it has to be either in the cable from the brick up to the AC-In port or inside the AC port! - Is the AC-In port of some industry standard size to try using cable from some other device? Any known replacements for the cable? or the whole adaptor unit? - I'm searching for the OEM/Nokia branded AC-200 adaptor/charger on Amazon, eBay, but haven't found it yet (not even on UK sites). - Booklet was bought over Amazon in US and will soon shift to India permenantly. There are no Nokia service centres for miles around here, and although there are plenty in India, booklet was not officially launched there so I doubt if I'll get the parts. What remedy do I have? Thanx for reading. Answers welcome! --

    Hi yogeshmk,
Thanks for your post. If your adaptor is no longer working correctly first check with a Nokia Care Point is they can supply you with an original charger. Otherwise you will need a (universal) adaptor which can handle at least 40 Watt/19 Volt/2A. In the UK you can get a suitable charger from Maplin.
    Hope this helps,

take a dry toothbrush to the gold contacts both male and female on the connector and retest.
Sounds like you have a damaged connector or a damage in the DC cord.
Go to the apple store and use a DIFFERENT adapter for 10 seconds, that will immediately tell you the SOURCE of the fault.

  • No charging over USB after Using Firewire charging - 5G ipod

After charging two 5G ipods (30 & 60G models) with my sons firewire power adaptor (charging is supposed to be supported for 5G models just not syncing) both iPods have not been able to be charged using orginal USB cable supplied through macbook pro and have to be rebooted each time I want to sync them using USB (but still won't charge at same time).
I tried resetting etc...nothing. My connections now gives warning that "ipod is connected to a low-speed USB 1.1 port....you should connect it to a high-speed USB 2.0 port"... Trouble is all of my macs have usb 2.0 and since using the firewire (as a charger) it now thinks they are all USB 1.1 ports.
I have even disconnected the battery on the 30G model but this did not fix it either.
    Any suggestions?

Yes, After 5 hours of charging on my Mac, I plugged it in a brand new PC with USB 2.0 for 3 hours. I even tried reseting the iPod (in case it is a software problem...) When I took the iPod of the PC, the battery level was still at 70% and I still hadn't used the iPod Nano. He just refuses to charge to 100% and won't accept firewire charging. My next step is letting the iPod play for a while (untill batterylevel is red) and then recharging, see if it actually charges.
PS: Could it be that charging the Nano with a firewire adapter messed up anything?

  • Satellite L200: Why LCD freezes and lines in the LCD appear while charging?

    Hi!
I'm new here and ive got some problems with my L200. Everytime i charge my laptop while using it my LCD monitor freezes and there's a bit of running lines that appear in the monitor.
The only way that i can use it is to disconnect the charger and run it thru the use of a fully charged battery.
I just want to ask if theres a problem with my LCD or with the adaptor charger?
    Thank you so much!

Everytime i inserted the adaptor it turns off and sometimes it freezes the whole screen and apparently some vertical lines appear on the screen. It's been two weeks and im using it right now thru a fully charged battery. Thank you so much for the reply.

  • IPad 3rd gen not charging via wall socket

Ok I'm really annoyed right now, my iPad 3rd gen has suddenly decided not to charge when plugged via adapter to the wall socket. I thought it was the cables fault so I went into the currys store and bought an apple charger, came home and I have the same problem. When I plug my iPad to the wire to charge the battery sign flashes between between charging and not charging and then I get a message saying maybe this device is not compatible with the iPad and now I just keep getting the message saying "not charging". So I plugged the wire to my MacBook and yay the iPad charges, but its a little bit inconvinient for me and I prefer charging via the wall socket. I've tried everything resetting etc I've even done the software update (ios7.1). Can someone please tell me what's going on, am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated! Oh I've also ordered the apple 12w adaptor charger, do you think this will solve the problem? Thank you

You, say, " I thought it was the cables fault", but then you say, "I went into the currys store and bought an apple charger". Did you buy a charger or a cable?
The problem could be the charger. If so, the new 12W charger should solve the problem.

  • IMAC USB Draining my PALM V battery

My fully charged Palm V is put in the cradle and then connected to the USB port in my brand new iMAc. It will not  Synch and it is draining the battery instead of charging it... Would this item:
Palm 5/V/Vx Charger and Sync Hotsync USB Cable- work in my new iMac , can anyone tell me since nothing else is working...
    Post relates to: Palm V

You can try a new cable but it just doesn't seem like that is the problem. I understand your concerns with the battery. A usual hotsync only takes a couple minutes so it may be the device showing it's age. Either way, it should be able to sync. If the uninstall/ reinstall does not work, let me know. There is still another step we can take.
