AC Adaptor shows its charging..but doesn't?

I have a 20gm iPod picure model. It charges up fine via the USB cable to my PC. When I use the same USB cable that came with the iPod to its AC adaptor, it shows as charging, but actually doesn't. Apple have since replaced the AC adaptor, but still the same result? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried using the Nano USB cable with the iPod to eliminate the supplied cable as the problem? Also, I came across this in an Apple document
"Unexpected Charging Behavior
There are some situations where certain iPods, such as iPod nano and Fifth Generation iPod, may display behavior in which it looks like the battery isn't charging when, in fact, it is"
Have a look at the link and see if it helps: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61127

  • IPhone 5: Screen shows its charging, but it isn't. Its been connected for the last few hours and hasn't turned on?

So this happened suddenly out of the blue last night, I've had the iPhone for a while now and have never had any issues with it till now.
Am attaching a picture to show you what screen I get.
Its been like this for the past 5-6 hours. It just doesn't charge, but it thinks it is charging.
Also before the battery fully ran out, when I had plugged it in, it showed the charging symbol next to the battery symbol, but again it wasn't charging at that time.
Not sure what to do as I'm currently out of the country (UK) and there isn't any Apple stores where Im right now. I wont be back to the UK for another 2-3 weeks.

Tried the reset, but nothing happens, the screen shuts for a bit and then starts back to the screen in the first post.
Had the lint problem a few months back, so that was the first thing I checked when I was having this problem. So not that either.
Tried two different cables, my friend also has an iPhone 5, and I used their cable, which works fine for their phone, but doesn't work for mine.
I could take it to one of the mobile phone fixing guys here, but I don't want my Apple Warranty to go out if they open it up.

  • IPhone 4 shows it's charging but doesn't!

Ok, so I have a 32GB iPhone 4. I use up all my remaining battery on the way home from school and plug it into my MacBook Pro to charge. Immediately I get a random E0000012 blah blah error (or similar, don't remember exactly what error it was, but it definately started with 'E') on iTunes. Then the iPhone doesn't show up in the iTunes sidebar anymore, though the phone has the thunder to indicate its charging.  I look up the error on Apple.com and it says to try again after restarting the computer. I do so, but it still doesn't work. I still get the error, though the phone still has the little thunder. I give it the benefit of the doubt and let it sit there, plugged in for a few hours. It doesn't charge at all, still 0%. So I try to plug it into a wall socket and leave it overnight. Same thing - shows its charging, but 0% the next morning. I try and try using different USB cables and different wall sockets. It just isn't working. What do I do? Help!

    Hi jeein0904,
It sounds like you are having issues with charging your iPhone. I would suggest that you use the steps in this article to troubleshoot -
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
    Specifically -
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • My Mac book pro won't charge. But the connector is plugged in and shows that its charging but it says it has 0% but if I unplug it it will shut off

My Mac book pro won't charge. But the connector is plugged in and shows that its charging but it says it has 0% but if I unplug it it will shut off. It's been like this all day but I didn't notice till I turned it on.

It's either a power adapter issue (not likely) or (more likely) a power supply problem on your MBP. Take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose the problem.
    Good luck,

  • Ipod touch won't connect to Itunes, Only shows its charging. Screen just says connect to itunes. Won't do anything else.

Ipod touch G4. Daughter turned it off and restarted it and now it just says connect to itunes. When I do it isn't recognized but shows its charging. I've tried different usb cords and a different computer, also tried restarting the Apple Mobile device as it tells me in help forum. Any help is appreciated.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    Hi gotwaxed,
If your iPhone is not charging while plugged into the wall adapter, then I'd like you to please follow the information outlined below to help resolve the issue.
    If the battery doesn’t charge
If the battery doesn’t charge, unplug your device and try these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris.
If you're using a USB power adapter, make sure it's plugged in all the way and the power outlet is working. If you're connecting to a computer, make sure it's on and can charge your device. To charge an iPad, you might need to use a USB power adapter and plug into a power outlet.
Try a different USB cable, USB power adapter, or USB port.
If everything seems to be working, reconnect your device and wait for 30 minutes.
If your device still doesn’t charge, try to restart it while it's connected to power. If you can't restart, reset your device.

If your device still doesn't charge or you still see an alert after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.

  • HT1476 Iphone 5 says its charging but just stays at 2%.

When i plug in the Iphone 5 to the wall and my computer it says its charging but its stays at 2%. When i plugged it in at night it was at 2% and when i woke up it said it was charging but still at 2%. Ive tried charging it with my mac but still says its charging and is still at 2%. Can someone please tell me how to fix the issue. My phone has always charged normally and now it wont. Ive tried different cords too.

I understand that, but this doesn't answer my question.
If the battery is actually at 2%, the iPhone would power off with a depleted battery fairly quickly.
How quickly does the iPhone power off with a depleted battery after the iPhone is disconnected from a power source?
Any change after powering the iPhone off and on, a reset which is similar to a computer restart, or after restoring the iPhone with iTunes?
If no change after the latter, the iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

This is the Mac OS X Technologies > iSync forum - you are a Windows user.
iSync is a Mac-only application for syncing Contacts and Calendars to mobile phones and PDAs. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Windows, iPods or iTunes.

I'm having similar issues with my phone.  I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year.  Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas.  When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore.  I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting.  That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore.   I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router.  When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there.  Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.
Hope Apple fixes this problem soon..............
