Ac power failed of E4500

This week, our E-4500 server restarted 2 times automaticlly.
At first time,I can't find any error in /var/adm/messages
but I found some infomation in "prtdiag -v"

Yesterday, the server restarted again.
I can't find any error in /var/adm/messages too.
when i check in "prtdiag -v", i get the infomation again

i confused. where is the true cause?
i must find the cause ASAP. Please help me!

With AC power faulures especially when you have 3 PSU in the server it is not always straight forward, and the first part you think of might not always be the one at fault. for example, it could be power cables, power strips in the cabs, a problem with the power distribution, etc.
What I would do to narrow down the problem is as follows.
1. Change all of the power cords
2. Move the power cords onto a power strip that either other servers that have not gone down are connected to. Or even better that is on a different UPS.
Once this is down try passing the server through diagnostics for 3 or 4 hours and record the console output, this might show something.

  • Bit locker drive encryption failed due to power failer and hard disk corrupted

I ran Bitlocker drive ecryption drive D. My pc is windows 7 ultimate, while it was in progress of 1% due to power failer the encryption failed, when power resume the drive didn't showed the file format nor the size but it shows the size in disk management.
It showed like this in My computer
I do Have the recovery code password and back of recovery password so I ran the "manage-bde-_unlock D:-rp[my code ]
and my pc got hang  no other option rather than to press the restart button.
then I used commang "repair-bde -force D:I:-rp[my rp] and following info showed but it stucked in 1% about 8 hours, and there was no increase in the pecentage
I also connected the hardisk to mac but all othe partation showed but didn't showed the encrypted one.
I had lots of memorable picture and other backups so any one kindly help me to get out of this problem. Thanks for help

    Hi,
The BitLocker encryption and decryption processes can be interrupted by turning the computer off, and it will resume where it left off the next time Windows starts. This is true even if the power is suddenly unavailable.
    Bitlocker-repair (repair-bde)  tool
can't repair a drive that failed during the encryption or decryption process.
In addition, could you please explain a bit for what drive you are trying to deal with? external one?
When you first restart your PC, have you seen any signs that indicate that the encryption is in process?
Regarding your scenario, please take a look to see if the following articles could help here:
Scenario 11: Recovering Data Protected by BitLocker Drive Encryption (Windows 7)
Besides, when running manage-bde command, did we followed the steps mentioned in the below article?
Scenario 14: Using a Data Recovery Agent to Recover BitLocker-Protected Drives (Windows 7)
    Best regards

  • Facebook timed out while writing a post.  Any attempt to open FB, now shows post that was in progress and immediately crashes app.  Cannot clear timed out item.  Have power failed and done warm reboot on iPad.   Is Delete/Reinstall only option?

Was writing post, as part of sharing article from my newsfeed.   While writing, Facebook timed out.  Display cleared.  App recycled and returned to newsfeed.  This has happened previously and for all purposes, the original post, since it had never been "loaded" onto FB servers effectively was deleted from iPad memory.  That appeared to be the case yesterday; as I was able to continue reading, sharing and commenting on other articles.
Later, as I was shutting iPad down for the night, scrolled through open Apps and discovered the original FB window was still "open" I'd apparently been working on a 2nd or mirror version of the app.  Attempting to access the original page; it opens, but I am unable to "interact" with the display/app, pressing "cancel" on my original post has no effect.  Within 5-6 seconds FB crashes.
I power failed the iPad, left it over night and today am encountering the same problem.   Tapping FB icon, brings up the post that was timed out.  It displays for 2-3 seconds max, then original article and partial post disappear.  Newsfeed appears to be loading as that and contact columns are visible in light font indicating they are preparing to load.   2-3 seconds, that vanishes.  Am left with blue header band, spinning wheel indicating it is trying to communicate or process something.   2-3 seconds and then screen goes black and I'm returned to my app desktop.
If I immediately tap icon to reopen I get white screen, with blue header band.   2-3 seconds, black screen, back to app desktop.   If I wait 2 minutes, I get the full shared article, partial post as described above.  I've confirmed in the problem log that this is failing in Thread 0 and showing up as system crash.
Based on feedback to somewhat similar FB problem I found in forum; in addition to doing power fail.  I also did warm reboot (Home and Sleep keys) in hope app would reboot along with ios.  No change.
At this point, I'm assuming my only viable option is to delete the app and reinstall it from App Store.  Easy enough to accomplish.  But wanted to see if there were any other recommendations, or whether anyone else has experienced a similar failure with FaceBook.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • H330 won't switch to UPS when power fails

I have an APC XS 1000 UPS with updated PowerChute software that worked fine with my former desktop (Dell), but my Lenovo H330 will not switch to it if the AC power fails.    Windows 7 says the APC is working normally, it passes a self-test, and all of the peripheral devices that are connected to it switch over without a problem.  But the H330 just immediately shuts off.  Anyone have any ideas?  .

    hi America2468,
    Welcome to the Community.
Assuming all peripherals are connected properly to the APC XS 1000 UPS and it's not exceeding the 600 Watts load (as per this specs sheet) then most likely the problem is with the battery. As per this article, newer UPS units will power up on a dead battery (your UPS maybe included on the list).
Check if the replace battery light is ON and replace it accordingly - see this article as a reference.
    Hope this helps

  • Can no longer view photo library, after power fail (during LR upload)

    Good day.
My computer power failed during a LR3, beta2 upload.
After restarting, I can no longer see any of the images in my library (~50k images) that were not part of the upload...but they are still there.  In the 'grid' screen, gray boxes appear, but instead of images within those gray boxes, I see lighter gray portrait/landscape rectangles.
I'm certain that the images are there, but I can only see the images if I am in the 'develop' window, 1 image at a time.
I am hesitant to reinstall lightroom, as I do not want to loose my LR catalog (and have not backed up in a bit...yes yes, I know).
Any help would be greatly appreciated*
    Thanks!

Those are the classic symptoms of a corrupted preview cache. There is a folder named <whatever>previews.lrdata that lives next to your lightroom catalogue which is named <whatever>.lrcat. Delete the .lrdata folder (and all its sub-folders) (but NOT the catalogue file!) and restart lightroom. It will rebuild your preview cache, and all will be well.

  • TS1717 iTunes not starting after power fail and reinstall

I'm using a Samsung NP700 series laptop, with a dodgy battery, running Windows 7.
I was doing some work when the power failed and my battery failed soon after. When power was restored the system ran CHDISK during boot up and found several problems. I then started getting Win32 exceptions from CFNetwork.dll during start up and whenever I tried to start iTunes.
I followed the advice in the support pages and ended up doing a complete clean and reinstall. After this the exception had gone but iTunes failed to start. I got nothing, double click the icon nothing, open iTunes from the start menu, nothing. No reports, no errors it just failed to do anything.
I had installed the 64 bit version but it wanted to install in 'program files (X86)'. Was this the problem?
In desperation I ran iTunes using 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' that suggested XP SP2 mode and it worked. iTunes complained about being in compatibility but it ran.
Switching off compatibility mode reverts back to iTunes not bothering to start.
Oddly enough iTunes remembers that I was using an external drive for my library, I had expected to have to set that up again after the clean uninstall.
Still I am working, iTunes is not happy but I am working. In the next few days I hope to upgrade to Windows 8 - only God knows what problems that will cause.

Okay, things have gone from bad to worse. I checked the event log again after another failure to start and found that iTunes hadn't started because of an exception thrown by AUDIOSES.DLL. Sfc failed to fix it so I tried a restore to an earlier date.
That's when things went badly wrong. After the restore my system refused to boot. Even the recovery disk failed. Fortunately I was preparing to upgrade my system to Windows 8 and already had the upgrade disk.
One clean upgrade to Windows 8 later and my computer is working again. All I have to do is install all my software again. This is not a big problem as I like to do this every so often to clear out the junk. Haven't got around to iTunes yet (still doing BIOS, drivers and firewall etc first). Hopefully I will be all back to normal in a couple of days. Good job that I am retired.

  • PXI 1010 Chassis power failed.

Now one PXI 1010 backplane power failed on PXI section, but SCXI side can power on.I ever checked nad reset circuit breaker, no help. I need your help! Who will give me a kind hand?

    Roger,
If you have already checked the circuit breaker and have verified that it is not tripped, more than likely there is a power failure with the PXI portion of the power supply. I would create a phone service request at www.ni.com/ask. We can only handle returns through our phone support. At that point, if you indicate that you have a damaged product, we can work with you to get it fixed.

  • Power failed during update now won't restart

Had a power failure while the iMac was doing updates. Now I have a white apple screen and the grey spinning wheel on start and that's all I get. What do I do now?

I wonder would a UPS hold on long enough for updates to finish, even if set longer than five minutes? That seems to be asking a lot from a battery, especially if it's not brand new and may be getting weaker.
That isn't a yes or no answer, it depends on the UPS, what is plugged in and health of the battery. Mine will last about 20 minutes, the average update doesn't take that long however some can.
I also agree that it is wise to have backup, even better than TM or a recent clone is having both. Backups can fail too.

  • IPhone 4s power failing within 3 hours with only 2 calls after charging overnight

My wifes iPhone power is failing within 3 hours of overnight charge, after only 2 calls and reading about 4 e-mails. My phone however works fine. Both are the same model 4s. Any ideas?

I have been getting 2 - 4 days use on my 4s after each of the 7.x upgrades.
I haven't had 7.0.3 for that long, but my phone now shows 14hr 55 min standby with 2 hrs usage and 76 percent battery left.

  • BigBang X-Power Fails to POST Following ANY Changes in Cell Menu

Whenever I try to manually enter any settings for the CPU with the aim of overclocking or underclocking (even if it is only a 5MHz increase in base clock from the stock 133MHz) the machine will not boot correctly. I don’t get any video signal so I'm assuming that it doesn't even post.
Is there anything special that needs to be enabled or disabled, or are there any tricks that need to be done in order for overclocking to actually work on their boards, in particular the BigBang X-Power??
I purchased this board last week and I can't figure out why this keeps happening.
Everything runs fine under fail safe/default configuration and I've confirmed nothing is dodgy with memtest/prime95/3DMark tests, although, I already know all my hardware is fine because the only thing I have replaced is the motherboard.
Prior to the swap over I was able to run 4GHz no worries on the UD3R, however now I can't even raise the base clock 5MHz without it dying! It's not just when the base clock is adjusted either, bringing the CPU, RAM or Uncore ratios down in line with the 3 step overclocking guide also has the same effect.
I noticed that when it dies that the post debugging display shows C0 which equates to "early CPU initialization" in the manual. Also the board comes with two 8pin CPU power connectors however I have only connected one power connector – it doesn’t say anything about absolutely needing two 8pin connectors so I didn’t bother connecting two. I have also tried multiple BIOS versions but still nothing.
I’m pretty close to asking for an RMA but I’d like to get some opinions first and maybe speak to MSI directly.
    All help is certainly appreciated!

what BIOS version are you currently running? Including the latest betas?
I've tried 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 BIOS versions - I am currently using 1.5. Addmittedly I haven't tested any of the beta BIOS options but, , I'm not running anything super new or out of the ordinary. I'm 100% sure that this is not a BIOS issue.

Amps on the PSU +12V rail(s)? Connecting power to both JPWR2 & JPWR3 is not mandatory, but does help balance the load in the higher clocks.
No idea exactly how many amps I am pulling over the +12V rail. My PSU has a single 12V rail with about 60amps available - I have plenty of head room there.

This is a user to user forum, so direct contact with official MSI support would be a ticket submitted to MSI Tech Support.
Yeah sorry what I was trying to say was that if I couldn't get the issue resolved by posting here then later I'll get into contact with MSI.
Thanks for the super quick replys guys.

  • While working on FCPX project, power failed. Power on, restarted, opened FC, Project Library shows blank icon, no clips. Click on icon, nothing happens. Haven't done back-up. Can project be recovered?

While working on a FXPX project, there was a power failure. Power back on, restarted FCPX, project name in Project Library is a blank icon, nothing happens when I click on it. Believing back ups were automatic and continuous, I made no back up. Can the project be recovered?

Years of fine internet use via WIFI then randomly it starts dropping then one day (weeks later) it is no longer accessible at all and even saying "No hardware installed" when I click on WIFI icon at the top right on screen. Here is how I finally fixed it!:
For six months I wallowed in this problem and had to connect my macbook pro to the internet via ethernet cable which as you can image was very restrictive :/
I have had numerous laptop technicans befuddled by this WIFI problem and most concluding with how my WIFI card must be broken and that I will need to buy a new one. The last suggestion I had on the matter was to buy a USB wifi dongle.
So I ended up buying this one, http://www.asus.com/nz/Networking/USBN10_NANO/Unfortunately my macbook pro didn't want to read the install disc and it didn't autorun so it didn't work. After reading more forums I saw that you could download the program from the net and sure enough it worked.. BUT STRANGER when I took the USB dongle out the WIFI was still working!! The program appears to have reminded my four year old macbook pro that it is indeed WIFI capable.
So to find this miraculous program its located herehttp://www.asus.com/nz/Networking/USBN10_NANO/HelpDesk_Download/
Same link as above just under SUPPORT>Driver&Tools
You then click on a file when its downloaded and a file called MAC will appear, then click on install. Within 5 minutes you should have your WIFI back. My macbook pro crashed again today but without having to get the shortest ethernet cable you've ever seen out again - I was able to install the program again and WIFI was up and running once more. Moral of the story - didn't need to spend any money to fix this and not even using the USB dongle.
So happy!! Hope it works for you too!
This also worked on a MacBook that lost its WIFI when a user accounts password was changed and the keychain password wasn't known to them - another random way to lose WIFI apparently
