AC1600/EA6400 - Media Prioritisation Issue

Hi,
I had an EA2700 and used the media prioritisation feature as I  generate a couple of icecast2 streams on port 8000 (1 x 128kbs and 1 x 64 kbs) from within my network. We are "out in the sticks" and have a poor internet FTTC service of around 3.8Mbs up and 18Mbs down. I was never really sure how to configure the settings part of the however I stuck in my downstream figures and upstream figures and it seemed to work well.  I had to get rid of the EA2700 as  for some reason (with MP on or off) it would never give me the full throughput of the cable modem. I couldn't connect to it from IE11 (yes I know..why do I use that...yuk!).
I recently bought a EA6400 as it also supported MP however there is only one box in the settings page and that just shows downstream speeds. I have a server (SFM-SERVER) which I have placed into the priority 1 slot which streams the streams to my icecast server in the states. All of my other machines are in normal priority. If I start to run a speed test on any of my other machines then all is well on my icecast streams for the download test but as soon as Speedtest starts to test the upstream then the prioritised SFM-SERVER stream starts to stutter and then resets.
Before i purchased the EA6400, I checked that it supported Media Prioritisation and nowhere does it distinguish between up and down stream priority.
I also tried creating an application which prioritised the icecast port for TCP, UDP and both and it still wouldn't work properly. I thought I tired and configure a VLAN but the EA6400 doens't appear to be able to support this.
I need a router that supports this functionality but would like to know why this doesn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Clarkerz

Hi clarkerz. I am also interested to know if what did Linksys Support said about this matter.
The routers you have doesn't support VLAN, but I guess Linksys has business class routers that handle this. As far as I remember, the Linksys E2500 supports VLAN setup. With regard to the Media Prioritization, can you send us a photo of what is showing under Media Prioritization Settings? I have an EA4500 router and I can manually set the downstream and upstream speed. This could something basic, but have you already tried upgrading the firmware? Or reflashing it?

  • Media Pending Issue???

Here is the answer for MEDIA PENDING issue,  after you render on Adobe Premiere CC 2014, all you have to do is click on the little eye icon on the left side of the sequence and then un-click it...or click back on it,,,,,,.and presto!!! you can see your wonderful rendered master piece!!!!  Do this for every video line that you're using. I hope this helps, happy editing!!!

OK - this isn't a codec issue.... I have an old copy of Premiere Elements 2
and I've just installed it. I can import the audio and video and they both
conform and index fine, and quickly too. They cut, render out as AVIs...
    they work!
I go back to Premiere Pro CS4 and everything is still pending. How can this
be if it is a codec issue? Surely the codec is there if Premiere Elements 2
    can do it?
So why does it all work at work with Premier Pro CS4 but not at home?
    Any ideas?

  • Media Encoder issue or bug? 720p50 to 720i50

Can anyone confirm a Media Encoder issue, happening when converting progressive 50-fullframe (or 60 for ntsc) to 50-interlaced frames?
I tried to convert DVCProHD 720p50 clips to PAL DVD wich uses 576i50 (25 frames devided to 50 interlaced frames). The result was, that every second frame of the source clip was skiped, so I received a PAL clip in 25 full-frames (25p). And it didn't matter which field-order I choosed (upper/lower/progressive) - the result was always the same.
when converting p50 to i50 I would expect, that AME would convert these 50 full-frames to 50 interlaced-frames with the field order I choosed. For example Canopus Procoder is working this way.
Btw, I lost the link, where to report Premiere bugs to adobe. Can anyone post it, please?

    See:
    FAQ:How/Where do I report a bug?
    Cheers

I can understand your point of view and I respect it in regards to Small Basic being a learning language. None the less, let me make a suggestion that would be more ageeable, I think,  to different kinds of people. Why not make different versions
of this new language: version 1 for beginners that I heard would be out by the end of this year,
version 2 for intermediates and version 3 for more advanced programmers. All this would culminate to the Visual Basic language. These 3 versions would smoothe out the gap between SB and Visual Basic. Your new programmers would
evolve at the same time your versions would come out and Microsoft would have a long term policy of loyal programmers.

  • Update: E4200 Media Server Issues

    Dear All,
Late last week engineering released beta firmware for the E4200 that should resolve the media server issues many have experienced.  This firmware release will go through a cycle of testing internally as well as with members of the community that we have been working with. Once the firmware has gone through the required testing and approvals it will be released publicly.  There is no ETA at the moment but we will update the community once a release window has been identified.

    Dear All,
Here is an update on the media server issue.
"The media server issue is definitely a software issue as confirmed by the engineers. A fix has been built, tested and is close to release. The firmware is currently going through the Engineering release process. This process is time consuming as this firmware is open-source and requires that Cisco follows strict guidelines to ensure that they are in compliance with the GNU General Public License. Estimated release date is around 3rd or 4th week of September if there are no other issues."
As promised, we will keep track of this issue until a fix has been released. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

  • AC1600 (EA6400) In Bridge mode

My AC1600 (EA5400) is setup in Bridge mode, all is working correctly except that on the main router which is a Linksys 4200 it will not acknowledge the parental settings, on the EA5400 I only have 3 options Conectivity, Troubleshooting and Wireless. on the 4200 the same 3 settings are plus  Device List, Guest access, Parental Controls, Media Prioritization, Speed test, external storage and security. I am sure if I cascade the routers I will have the options but will have to maintain the Parental Controls on both, is there a setting a am missing that will not allow the Parental settings to work?

What Parental Controls settings are you trying to do? And which router are trying to set the Parental Controls? If the EA6400 is on Bridge mode, it will have limited settings since most of the settings will only work when on Router mode. I agree on using EA6400 as the main router and cascade the E4200 as an access point. Set the Parental Controls settings on the EA6400.

  • Media Encoder issue - The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)

I've just installed Adobe Media Encoder CC and upon opening the application I receive this error:
    How should I fix this?

This is a Dynamic Link error.
DL is technology linking DVA applications together.
Do you by any chance have mixed versions of DVA application?  Like Premiere Pro CC 2014 and AME CC (2013)?
That could possibly cause such issue.  You should use matching releases as much as possible.
So if you update one video product (Premiere Pro, AE, Prelude, AME, Audition) you should update all the other ones.
If that's not the case, open up task manager, Force End Dynamic Link task.  Then try to launch AME.
If still no help, reboot the system and then try to launch AME.
If still have this issue, hold the shift key then launch AME (This will reset AME preferences).

  • Media offline issue in premiere cs6

I recently had my copy of Premiere CS6 fixed due to a handlertitler.dll problem. However, when it was finally fixed there was some playback issues, and about a third of my media is offline. How do I relink the media to where I can hear and see my video on Premiere CS6?

Media Offline is most often caused by the links to it, which are absolute Paths, being changed. It could be a drive letter, a file Rename, or similar.
I agree with Jim, that the best course of action is to let PrPro relink that media, when it asks "Where is file ____ ?" This article goes into more detail: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4598705#4598705
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - if you have not Moved, or Renamed anything, I would definitely check my HDD's, to make sure that they are functioning at 100%.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Issue Help

    Hello all,

    "Adobe Media Encoder

It has only started since the last update about a month ago, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks again!

    Any help please?! Thank you!

  • MEDIA ENCODER ISSUES...PLEASE HELP!

IVE BEEN USING ADOBE CS4 MASTER COLLECTION FOR 2 YEARS AND AM NOW HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MEDIA ENCODER! I CAN OPEN NO PROBLEM...BUT WHEN I TRY ADDING A SUPPORTED FILE TO ENCODE IT FREEZES?....IF IT DOES MAKE IT PAST THAT POINT WHICH SELDOM IT DOES WHEN I HIT TH EQUE BUTTON IT WILL SAY CONFORMING AND AFTER 30 SECONDS OR SO IT BECOMES UN REPSONSIVE! ANY HELP WITH THIS ISSUE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Please try downloading the trial version of Premiere Pro CS5.5 and see if you still encounter this hang. You can get it here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_pro&promoid=DJDVF
As for diagnosing why AME suddenly started having this problem, here are a few things to think about/try:
You say that you've successfully transcoded mpg files to avi, but I presume you weren't always transcoding the exact same clip to the exact same avi settings. So....
maybe there's something different about the current source clip (a different codec used to create it, some glitch in the data stream, greater length). Please try encoding an mpg clip that succeeded previously.
if you're using a different AVI preset or custom settings this time than you've used in the past, then please try encoding to a preset that has worked before.
Has anything changed on the system that could explain this new behavior:
update to the OS, Adobe software, or graphics driver
change of hardware such as a new graphics card.
installation of a new codec pack
If none of the above helps, then I suggest deleting AppPrefs file for AME and, if that doesn't work, then the media cache files. If you don't know where to find those, then please indicate which OS you're on so we can give you the exact paths.

  • Windows Media Player Issues

I'm creating a DVD with only one video track and one button on one menu. I am using the "Satin Red Cover" template. I am using DSP 4.0.2
When I put the disc into a Windows machine, and play the disc using Windows Media Player, the one button doesn't show up (even when you mouse over where it should be).
Here's the weirdest part - it only happens on some machines. I've tried it out on about 5 PC's and 3 of them worked and two didn't. Some even have the exact same version of WMP.
    Help! Please!

I don't know if this will help, but I have seen when DVD + R media is used, that some of those issues with PC tend to go away.
How ever, DVD - R media has the most compadibility between desktop DVD players.

  • Mac - Windows Project Sharing: Media Linking issues

I just got a Windows 7 machine to experiment with using both my old Mac Pro and Windows 7 CS 5.5 to work on the same project.
I am using the Mac Pro as a server, a bunch of fast drives are hooked up to it. Right now I'm using Mac 10.7.3 and sharing those drives via the SMB protocol. This has some issues, like sometimes Windows can't connect to the Mac, but if I reset the Mac's SMB sharing and reboot it seems to fix this (fingers crossed.)
The main issue is that Premiere Pro cannot find some files on the Mac Pro's SMB shares. I'm not sure how many it finds or doesn't or why it finds some and not others, but it first asks me to locate a file, which I tediously do, and then PPro churns a bit and then asks me for another one. I'm using a lot of AVCHD material, so in some cases the media files have the same name, such as "00000.MTS". Premiere Pro doesn't seem to be able to provide any information on the original path of the file it wants to find, though I am sure that path info is somewhere in the Project file. It just doesn't present it to me when it asks me to locate it.
This makes finding non-unique files pretty hard.
Have others encountered this issue and what was your solution? Is there a utility I can use on Windows 7 to allow it to see the Mac SMB shares in a way that it can interpret the paths seamlessly?
The good thing is that PPro Windows is finding most of the files after I point it to one or 2 files it can't find, so sometimes this is working, though mysteriously.
    Thanks much for any advice!
    -Keith

Thanks Jim, however I do believe that the Premiere Pro project contains enough metadata path information to find the files. For example I do similar things with FCP and it will provide the exact path to what it couldn't find, chosing to search within it's interface will eventually find the correct file. PPro (at least 5.5) doesn't present this interface. That is a PPro issue.
I also believe that camcorder manufacturers could help by allowing unique names for the AVCHD MTS files. I don't think there is really any limitation on this, it's just lack of understanding of workflow on the manufacturers' part. I need a solution now, I don't think writing letters to manufacturers is going to get me what I need right now.
As I say, for the most part, with very little work for me Premiere Pro somehow found many of the correct files, even though they had identical names. It somehow made that association. However, in how it interacts with the OS and how rigorously it searches drives is mysterious and possibly buggy. I'm looking either for a solution for Premiere Pro, or some utility or searching workflow that will help PPro find the finds it really does know about. I am sure that my lack of familiarity with how Windows does this on shares is part of my problem, I'm looking for real solutions that people have used, I'm sure many have been in the exact situation, either by taking a drive over to another windows edit machine or whatever, and they hopefully have worked it out.
Anybody been in my situation and what did you wind up doing?
    Thanks much!
    -Keith

  • Re: Satellite P - Windows Media Center issue

Without any visible virus problems or bug threats Windows Media Center starts to crack out in video release.
Simply random loosing pixels on a screen, and all other similar programs such as wmp, vlc media player, mv2 and Intervideo Win DVD working correctly?

I don't know what notebook model do you have exactly and what is wrong there but if you want to have well working Media Centre install OS using delivered recovery media.
After doing this it will work properly.
Maybe you have installed some codecs or some third part application that can have negative influence on WMC functionality. To be honest your posting doesnt offer some relevant info to this issue and it is not possible to say for sure what is wrong there.
