Accept recognized person

Are there any keyboard shortcuts to accept / reject a recognized person found through face recognition?
I did look at the LR6 shotcut page but did not find any shortcurts related to face recognition.
Sunny greetings from Switzerland
Marc

I'd love to know the same thing!!!

    Possibly you are trying to activate the trial version of Lightroom Creative Cloud version with a perpetual key? that will not work. Uninstall the lightroom application you have installed, this process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences and Personal files but just remove the application.
    Download and install the stand alone version fronm the link below, and run the installation and apply your key. If this is not the issue please report full details about your problem.

    You do not want to use a standard 30 pin to lightning adaptor.
    It would put all the weight on the lightning pin and most likely snap.
    You can use one that has a cable, it would connect but have the device lay flat near the dock.

  • Anyone know how to get Adobe to pay attention? Or am I compelled to be a pirate?

    I bought PageMaker many many years ago (about 1998 I think), and at the time it was a substantial investment.
    I've upgraded regularly since, and now have InDesign CS3 purchased in June 2007 (Adobe Store Australia Recept No. AD000385242U dated 27/6/07).  Okay, it's not the most current version. I might consider upgrading again if I could be confident I could use an upgrade.  What I have is useless thanks to Adobe's unconscionable behaviour and putting their IP rights ahead of their customer's right to use what they paid for.
    I bought a new computer recently. I can't install InDesign because it's an upgrade, and to install an upgrade, I first have to install and register the original product.  Since the original product was an early version of PageMaker, that means installing very old software (not compatible with my current op system!) and then installing and sequentially registering every upgrade to the current one - IF I had every disk set (the first purchase was on 3.5 floppies, which my machine won't even accept), CD, and serial no.
    I have tried over and over to contact Adobe. No response.
    I am taking this to Fair Trading, but pending some satisfaction, the only answer I can think of is pirating!  It may not be legal, but it's perfectly ethical and morally right.  Adobe, on the other hand, is not playing fair. For the first time in over 20 years of software use, my sympathy lies with the pirates!

    Not sure this is going to get through as the forum seems to be down for maintenance...
    At this point I'm sort of lost as to what you have and don't have.
    I THINK I remember that you have a set of disks for InDesign CS3 (not the suite), and that it was an upgrade from Pagemaker, for which you have neither disks nor a record of the serial number. Is that right? Do you have the serial number for your CS3?
    The CS3 installers were the worst in Adobe history and will balk at the slightest provocation, which doesn't help here, but if you are getting as far as being asked for a serial number or proof of eligibility that's a good sign that at least the disk is being read. I seem to recall that a lot of users had trouble with installing from the DVD drives that started shipping with new computers at that time, but that could also have been CS2. My brain is turning to mush on some of the older details.
    Anyway, I'm not surprised that you would have trouble installing CS3 if you don't have the media or the serial number for the qualifying product for the upgrade. IF it's a disk-reading problem, copying the CD to the desktop (or some more convenient location on your hard drive) often works. It's also important on Windows 7 64-bit (if that's what you have) that you install in the Program Files (x86) folder, not the plain Program Files folder, but I think that will probably happen automatically.
    What I was saying in my last post was that if you actually do have the disk or serial number from the CS3 version, you most likely will be successful at installing CS5, even though you can't get CS3 on the machine (wish I was nearby to try to help you in front of the machine with that), if that would be acceptable. Personally, I wouldn't go back to Quark for anything at this point (and it isn't clear that there is going to be a Quark to go back to for very long), so I'm not sure what "other" options you have in mind for competing titles. The only word of caution I would give in the upgrade to CS5.5 scenario is once you convert your files to the new version, there's very little chance to go backward, especially for you. ID files are not directly backward compatible -- only CS5.5 is able to open CS5.5 files, so opening in any other version requires export to the new .idml format, which can be read by CS4, CS5 and CS5.5, but not CS3 or earlier, so you need CS4 to export a .inx file that can be read in CS3, and by the time you've gone through that many conversions the file will probably be a mess. I would also suggest, if upgrading, that any older files you open in CS5.5 should be immediately exported to .idml, then that opened and saved as a new file (don't overwrite the old version) for editing. There have been a few reports of delayed trouble with legacy files and the export is somewhat helpful as insurance.

  • How to download but not install OSX Mountain Lion on Mavericks

    Hi all
    I would like to download but not install OSX Mountain Lion on my MBP which is currently running OSX Mavericks.
    This however seems impossible. I think OSX Mavericks were already installed on my MBP and therefore it seems "impossible" to download it.
    Now, why would I to do this? The answer is quite reasonable, due to certain demands related to an application portfolio I need Mountain Lion, because the portfolio is not upgraded to run on Mavericks. And, it is more reasonable to downgrade a version of OSX, rather waiting for the portfolio upgrade which can take years.
    Yes, I need to downgrade my secondary MBP which also came with preinstalled Mavericks. This can be done, if I only could download but not install Moutain Lion.
    It should be easy enough; download Mountain Lion, make an installer and make a bootable thumb usb stick. Then erase Mavericks and install Mountain Lion.
    I have previously bought Mountain Lion so it is accessible to me in the App Store, but whenever I try to hit the Download button, I get a message saying this can't be done, since I am running Mavericks.
    This bugs me, it should be obvious users needs the flexibility to swap whatever OSX version they need. It is still software.
    So, how can I download but not install Mountain Lion on my newer MBP that came with preinstalled Mavericks?
    I would like to see answers like:
    "In order to get this to work, you first have to disable the locking mechanism in [...] " instead of "No, this is impossible to do"
    Regards

    Thanks for your reply Eric
    Can't help wondering thought, people are ok with this?
    Basically Apple are saying: "Do not attempt to install an older version of OSX which came preinstalled. If so, expect multiple failures." Really?! Has it always been so? For me it's not like I'm going to install Snow Leopard on my Late 2013 Retina MBP, but I would expect some form of backward compatibility between the previous version and it successor. Apparently this is not possible, and how is this even acceptable?
    Personally, I am not going to downgrade, as if I had a choice, but I would and I expected however, the possibility to at least download the previous OSX version. What do you do if you have bought several applications, not necessarily online from App Store and buy yourself a new Mac with preinstalled Mavericks and after installing your "old" applications they fail to work properly? What do you do since downgrading apparently is not an option. So... again, what do you do?
    If you don't have friends with an older Mac, you could be facing serious problems. And I'm not talking about gaming, but serious business.
    I find this quite disturbing actually, and please tell me it's not so. There gotta be a way to do this?
    I simply want to download the OS but I expect some registry values (like windows' registry) keeps preventing this.
    It should be possible to simply download and not download and install in one operation, shouldn't it?
    Regards

  • Big generic problem

    I'm having a big problem. Look at this:
    public class Person {
    public class Employee extends Person {
    public class Bank {
    private List<Person> people = new ArrayList<Person>();
    public List<Person> people() {
    return people;
    Now the problem:
    public class Test {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    Bank b = new Bank();
    b.people().add(new Employee()); // This was to be forbidden, but
    // the compiler doesn't complain
    In the class Bank I declared a list to contain only Person objects:
    private List<Person> people = new ArrayList<Person>();
    and a method to return it, with the same generic type:
    public List<Person> people()
    so, how could the compiler let me add a person of type Employee in the class
    Test? No matter if I change the declaration of the people() method to accept
    only objects of class Person and above, like this:
    public List<? super Person> people()
    it still compiles and I still can add Employee objects to the list that were
    supposed to hold just Person objects.
    So, the question is:
    HOW COULD I RETURN A LIST IN A METHOD WITH A GENERIC TYPE THAT HAS SUBCLASSES AND THAT I CAN MAKE THE LIST TO ACCEPT OBJECTS JUST OF THAT TYPE, NOT OF ITS SUBCLASSES? So, this is type safe. I don't want the list of the example above to accept objects of type Employee, just Person.

    so, why can I add Employees to a list declaredthis
    way
    public List<Person> get() {
    return people; // <--- list of Person
    }I don't see how it can be said any more clearly -
    BECAUSE AN Employee IS A Person!
    wouldn't it be to behave the same way as you
    said?
    Is
    the proplem related to a param and a return
    type.
    With params with works, but not with returntypes?
    I don't understand your point!Look if I'm really understanding this thing:
    public void add(List<Person> p)
    private List<Employee> e = new
    ArrayList<Employee>();
    obj.add(e) // Error. It's not exactly a PersonNow:
    public List<Person> people();
    private List<Employee> e = new
    ArrayList<Employee>();
    obj.people().add(new Employee()); // Ok. But why?An Employee is a Person. But in the first code it
    didn't let me add an Employee to a method acception a
    Person. That's what I want. But why the second code
    worked. Isn't it the same thing. The param type in
    both examples is a list of Person.To be more clear in the first code:
    public class Obj {
        public void people(List<Person> p)
    private List<Employee> e = new ArrayList<Employee>();
    Obj obj = new Obj();
    obj.people(e) // Error. It's not exactly a Person

  • Contact request: Is this a scammer?

    Hi,
    I received a contact request yesterday with the (in my language) default invitation message from a Skype account I don't know. Said person has a picture of a heart with 2 puppet-like figures looking at it.
    Even though I've never had random contact-invite issues before, I'm smart enough to guess this might be a scammer and I should not accept this person.
    However, The only information shown on the profile of said person says that this person is from the same city as me.. Which is what kinda confuses me.
    So my questions are,
    do scammers fake being from the same city on their profile?
    Could it do any harm for me to accept said person and ask who they are? (I have no added phone number on my Skype profile, so that's secure). Or is there a different way of finding out who they are/where they are from?

    possible, scammers might employ such tactics to entice their targets to accept their contact request.  Generally, it is not advisable to suspicious contact requests.  I think if that user is indeed someone who knows you, they may have attached a short message in their contact request to introduce themselve.

  • IChat AV "Do not response" problem

    Hi,
    I've been having problems with iChat AV since getting my new iMac Intel based. Everything was working fine on my old iMac G5.
    Let me explain the problem: when initiating a video conference, I get a response back that I've refused the connection. That seems to occur once the person on the other side accepts the conference. Even odder, after clicking "accept", that person then receives the message that they too have refused the connection.
    I don't understand what's wrong with, because I've configured well the preferences.
    I'm really not sure where to go next in troubleshooting this, so I'd appreciate any guidance.
    Thank you!!

    Hi Llu,
    iChat minimum is quoted as 100kbps for 1-1 chat. This is the updload and download speed needed.
    Mulitchats need a speed of at least 384kbps in both directions.
    iChat will fail to connect in Video chats if it detects a speed lower than 50kbps and will dsplay an error message.
    As Defcom says the Quicktime setting should match what you get from the ISP or set to a max of 1.5.meg.

  • How do I change the color of a calendar? It keeps changing back to the wrong color.

    I have tried to change the color of the calendar on iCloud, on the iPad, on the Mac desktop, and on the iPhone.  It will not change as per the instructions in the help guide.  It changes for about 1 second, then reverts back to a color I never chose.  How can I get it to accept my person preference?

    Please just have a look in the Support Communites and you will find multiple threads discussing the exact same issue. I would assume that it is a bug and Apple will solve this issue with an upcoming software update.

  • Connect Pro Meeting Users Groups Participants question

    I have Connect Pro Meeting.  Here is what I want to do:  invite and register only certain people for certain webinars. I offer teacher training webinars so they are a different group of people for each webinar.  I am the only person in my "company" so I am the only one registered for now.  How do I set up a list of participants I want to invite for each webinar?  I'm very confused about how Adobe works in regards to doing this.  So far I've been merely setting it up so I have to accept each person who comes in, but I'd like for them to be able to come in on their own (without it being public for anyone who gets the URL to go into).  The same is true of recorded webinars.  I want to let those who have paid for the webinar view them, but I don't know how to set it so they can see them.  Can anyone direct me to somewhere that gives this information?  I feel like I'm running in circles trying to find answers in Adobe's help files.

    You can manually enter your users into the server.  Go to the Administration tab and click Users and Groups.  Here, you can create registered users.  When you create a new Connect meeting, make sure you choose to only allow registered users.  When a users clicks the link.  They will be prompted for to log in before entering the room.  Only users that you added to that room will be allowed in.  You can also upload a list of users (in a CSV) file if you have a lot of users to create.
    Once users are added to your server, you can put them into groups (i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Admins) to make it easier to invite participants.  You can add the Doctors group to a meeting and anyone in that group will be allowed in.
    If you have any questions a good place to look is the Help files.  For example, when  you are in the Users and Groups section, click the help link in the upper right corner to see the help files for Users and Groups.

  • Sync Unavailable

    when i try to sync i get an error of
    An unknown error occurred while performing a sync operation. Please check your account and network settings, then try again.
    the odd thing is if i click on the iDisk tab it will find all my info on how much space i have left so i think my login details must be correct. I have tried turning of my fire wall just in case i was blocking some thing but that had no effect.
    my internet is over an airport if that makes any difference.
    Does any one have any ideas.

    Well, I've had this problem too for the longest time (it seems!) it was sometime after 10.4.0 but before 10.4.3 (I remember hoping that the last two updates would fix the issue, they didn't!).
    I have two Macs, an iMac 17 and an iBook 14, the iBook started with the error, but the iMac would still sync.
    Anyway, did a search again today and found your entry, leaving me not too hopeful, then I found another about an unrelated problem with isync and it suggested where the files that 'support' iSync were located (I foolishly assumed they'd be in a directory named with "iSync" somewhere in it, not just "sync"!) That locale is ~/Library/Application Support/Sync Services (remember the "~" means your 'Home' directory, not the root directory of the drive).
    NOTE: I would read the following through once then go back and step through again to make sure I had a handle on this process! I am NOT a tech writer and assume NO responsibility for system screw-ups or data loss 'cause anyone reading this did NOT understand where I was going with this! If you don't feel like you understand what I'm suggesting with these instructions or aren't clear on the steps, then take this to a Mac Tech and see if they 'get it'. Anytime you are working with system files you should have a confident understanding (and acceptance of personal responsibility) for the risks and dangers of such, if not DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!
    Well here's what I've done, deciding if it did not fix the problem I was looking at a complete rebuild of the iBook's drive (not a happy thought, that's why I kept 'hoping' an update would fix it since Apple seems to not know the problem exists!):
    1) Make sure on the system (or a system) that can connect to the server (this can even be a new blank user account that you make on the machine for this purpose, since it is a problem that (in my case) is specific to the user, not really the machine or the .Mac account, and access the .Mac System Preferences control and go to the Advanced tab and remove the 'error Mac's' registration. (click on the line with the error Mac id and then the Unregister button)
    2) (if you're working, like me, with 2 or more Macs) Go to all the working Macs and under the Sync tab of the .Mac System Preference set each remaining registered system to Synchronize with .Mac 'Manually' and then click the Sync Now button (allow it to finish before moving on...). That way the data on .Mac is the latest and greatest from the 'good' Macs.
    3) Find the ~/Library/Application Support/Sync Services folder on the error producing Mac and remove all it's contents (would love to be more exacting about this, but I just don't know what is damaged {HELLO Apple?!?}), empty trash and reboot. (just 'cause we want a clean slate!)
    From this point on, you will be seeing all kinds of dialogs about "'such and such' needs to access the keychain for 'such and such'" or "are you sure you want..." answer Yes to all these (and Allow Always to those who give you that option) and don't panic (like I did!) when you see some message about .Mac can't sync or any other errors, just keep going forward!
    4) On the rebooted error Mac, go to the .Mac System Preferences and select the Advanced tab and click the Register button. Now if you do not care about the data on the error Mac anymore, that your other Mac's data is too far 'away' and there is not enough on the error Mac to worry about loosing, then click the Reset Sync Data button and tell the system that you wish to replace all data on this Mac with data from .Mac (that's an arrow flying from the globe to the screen). IF you want to keep and attempt to mesh the data on the error Mac with the data from the other Macs, then don't touch this button!
    'Meshing' data assumes, like me, that you did little to the data on the damaged Mac, that you have been refraining from trashing any part or whole of the data sets involved, hoping for an answer. If you HAVE 'mucked' with the data, then just do a Reset Sync Data and be done with it.
    For safety's sake, you might backup on the good Mac your Address Book data and your iCal data, and you might want to check the total number of entries in the address book (at the bottom of the Address Book window, make sure your looking at the "All" Group with no entry in the search field, then the number reflects your total addresses), just to see if later it looks like for some reason the system thinks every address in the error Mac is a NEW entry... (worked OK for me!)
    5) Now if your here, you did NOT reset the data and you want to attempt to mesh the error Mac with the data from .Mac, so go to the Sync tab and select the data sets (ALL in my case, heck I wish there were more!) and make sure you're set to Manually sync and click the sync (here's where you're going to get a lot of dialogs popping up, hang in there) resolve all inconsistencies (there may be if like me, you came to making duplicate edits on information like addresses on both machines) and finish sync.
    Now, I got a few dialogs about .Mac not available or not accepting password, and so decided to reboot at the end of this process, and do one more sync, and all seems well!
    Hope this works for you, if you've got questions feel free to email. (I hope not to be coming back to this board!!!)

  • Where do I find the things that MS has removed fro...

    I was on a Help desk operation for 2-1/2 years and used Skype all the time. That ended a little after MS took the product. After that I was on Skype very little. I didn't upgrade since I saw that MS had removed one feature that I needed. When I came back to Skype a couple of years later, Skype was forcing me to upgrade and I didn't like what I wasn't seeing.
    I used to be able to find Skype users by phone number, email addy, name, etc. In one of the first updates by MS I say that when looking by email addy, MS would only search for Skype users in certain domains, just the MS owned domains. Now I can't find a way to search for Skype users at all! If Skype has a way to do this, how to???
    There used to be a way to see other users computer screen. Though I never used that feature, now I need it. How to??
    There used to be a method for making changes to a message after sending and even deleting a sent message. How is this done now??
    There used to be a way to include icons within a message from a list that Skype provided. How to??
    Is there a list of differences since MS took over??
    There used to be a way to see messages from the past year and from since I started with Skype. How to??
    Thanks Chris C
    I know there are other things that have slipped away, but these are the primary ones that I need in the short term. As I stumble on other things, I'll ask about them.

    Thanks for the excellent response!!
    Even though I’ve accepted your response, there’s some additional things that may be useful to others reading that response and some things where I need to verify my understanding and/or I’d like to have Skype make some changes.
    On the Search function, it’s well hidden.  I also found the facility on the Conversation menu, but that doesn’t really fit well.  Perhaps Skype would create instead an additional item for Search in the bar below the Title bar and cause a click to bring up a small box for entering the type of search and the contents to search for.  And then a user could specify sending a message from Skype or click outside the box to go back to the normal Skype page.  In the older Skype, Search brought up a new page for this.  A small dialog box would work better than a separate page.  From testing which I did, search does accept a persons name also.
    I found the screen sharing option which you mentioned, on the Call menu.  I presume that the operation is only active between the account making the call and the person who has received the call and is activated only when the person receiving the call goes to the Call menu and clicks on Share Screens.  That brings up 3 questions:
        Can the person making the call also click on Share Screens?
        Can this be done on video calls only and/or audio calls?
        Can this allow control of the other persons system (keyboard and mouse)?
    I spent 2-1/2 years supporting FamilySearch.org and we made heavy use of this feature, but for some reason that I’m not aware of, we never used the facility in Skype.
    Edit/Delete messages is very well hidden and I can’t remember how we did this in the older (versions 4 and 5) of Skype.  It now requires a RIGHT click on either the message or the time displayed to the right of the first line of the message.  Skype might consider showing the time in bolded red for as long as the message is within the time limits for Edit/Delete?
    I’m sure Skype gets never ending requests for a longer or lesser value for the time limit.  Perhaps Skype would consider a user defined value for the limit and a default of 1 hour if the user has not specified a value?
    Emoticons are pretty much the same as we had in older versions of Skype.
    Perhaps Skype could consider relocating “Send SMS from Skype”.  Having the message so close results in new users stumbling into that accidently.  It was the same in older versions of Skype also.
    With well over 45k of these in the 3.5 years you’ve been doing this, you would have to average at least 100 of these in an 8 hour work day!  I would guess that you work for Skype and that fact brings great credit to Skype.  Thanks again for your help.

  • DB Design Question From A Novice

    I need help in structuring the code for a javabean that I'm writing. Basically, I want to have the bean run several different types of DB queries (e.g. "check username and password", "list the groups that the player is in", "list player attributes", etc).
    The approach I started taking (out of simplicity) was to write a new method for each type of query I wanted to run. In other words, I wrote one method to "check username and password" and another to "list the groups that the player is in", etc. However, I noticed that this caused a lot of repeating in the code (e.g. con.createStatement(); and stmt.executeQuery() for all these methods). I posted this question on a different forum and someone suggested writing a generic method (that takes a String parameter containing a database query) and putting the output into a Vector object and returning that to the calling method. My question is: "is this the 'common' way of doing things?" Another question is, "are both approaches acceptable?" Personally, I think it seems a little easier to use the approach I started using but, I have to admit, all the repeating code troubles me. I'm learning this on my own so I don't really have someone to ask in person about this. I'm looking for the advice of someone with some experience in these matters. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    My question is: "is this
    the 'common' way of doing things?" Basically yes. There are variations but the general idea is the same.

    Another question
    is, "are both approaches acceptable?" Your original approach would become unmangeable in a larger application. But other than that yes.
    Personally, I
    think it seems a little easier to use the approach I
    started using but, I have to admit, all the repeating
    code troubles me. And the repeating code, from the perspective of learning, is probably a good thing to a certain extent. It allows you to recognize patterns and thus question alternatives. And then when you move on to something else more sophisticated you will understand why it better/appropriate as opposed to someone who just does it one way without ever understanding why. (And for small applications you do use exactly the method you are doing rather than using more sophisticated and thus complex solutions.) Additionally you are more likely to be able to more quickly debug applications because you will be able to seperate out core problems relating to the database versus problems that are related to the intermediate layers.
