Accepting changes in iPhoto

If I edit a photo and want to replace the original with the edited, how is this done Now, the edited version is kept in a separate folder?

Save (share) the edited version to the Camera Roll and then use the Photo App to copy it to a different album. Or share the edited version to your computer using the file sharing method and then move it to an iPhoto album to replace the original.

How do you change an iphoto to 300 DPI high res for exporting to email?

Short answer: the dpi is set when you decide what size you're printing at.
Long Answer: Dpi means nothing in the digital world of your computer. There are no "inches" to have "dots per..." Size is measured in pixels. That's the same on your camera. It doesn't take 10 x 8 or 6 x 4 shots. It takes shots measured in megapixels. For instance 4,000 x 3,000 is a 12 megapixel camera.
Using that example, that shot from that camera has 12 million pixels. So that's how many "Dots" there are. To decide the ratio of dots per inch, you now need to decide the "inches" part. And that's printing. Print at 10 x 8 and the dpi will be 4,000/10 or about 400 dpi. At 6 x 4 then it's 4,000/6 or 660 dpi. Work the other way: Print at 300 dpi and the resulting image will be about 13 inches on the longer side.
So, your photo as a fixed number of pixels. Changing the dimensions of the print will vary the dpi, changing the dpi will vary the dimensions of the print.

Accept Changes button visible in Approval link but not in Check Status

Dear Experts,
We are on SRM 4.0 .
After a SC is rejected partially the requester can see the SC under Check Status link with the status In Your Inbox
When the user clicks on the Detail icon, there is only CHANGE button but when the user clicks on Approval Link
he can see Description as 'Your Shopping Cart xxxxxxxxx was change/rejected in part.Please Check' and when he click on the Detail icon there are two buttons at botton Accept Changes and Change .
Why is the Accept Changes button not there in detail display of SC under check status link?

Hello,
This is the standard behaviour of SRM4.0.
When a SC has been partially rejected the the SC goes to the requestor approval inbox. Requestor can either accept the change or he/she can change the SC and order again.
If requestor accept the change that means requestor has been accept the rejection, so requestor will not be able to create the PO for that line item. He/she needs to change the SC depending on the approval note and order again.
Check status transation is used for check the status of the shopping carts. Due to that reason the Accept change button is not exist there.

Apply changes in iphoto from ipad to mac?

I made some changes in some pics on my ipad's iphoto. I tried to apply those changes on the pics I had in my mac by syncronizing with itunes, but changes were not made.
Any idea on how to apply changes?

Changing where iPhotos are stored

I want to change where iPhotos are stored. My computer HD is getting full. How can I change to an external HD?

1 - make sure the EHD is formatted OS X Extended (journaled) with ownership set to be ignored:
2 - drag your iPhoto Library package from the Pictures folder on your iMac to the EHD.
3 - when the copying is done launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and in the next window select the library on the EHD.
4 - once you've confirmed that the EHD library is working properly and has all your photos you can delete the library from your Pictures folder.

Hello all
I am investigating the possibility to create a program which will Accept Changes on all rejected Shopping Carts in mass.
I tried to run FM BBP_PD_SC_STATUS_CHANGE but it gives me error message activity not allowed.
Table TJ05 holds permitted activities for Shopping Cart,
How is it possible to customize the table TJ05???
Accept Changes activity is done usually by SC Requestor after it was rejected by approver.
Does have anybody a hint on this topic?

Changing How iPhoto stores files

Hi,
Okay so while i plan on dumping my webmail accounts for a .mac account, im still curious about the answer to this question:
- Lets say i want to email photos through my university webmail. Lets assume im not using the (unsupported) httpmail extension for mac mail client either . When i get to "upload files" and start browsing my harddrive, the 'photos' directory is a complete mess! All the photos are stored by the date they were saved, instead of say, the album they are in. Which makes it very difficult to find the photos i want to send. Now, obviously one solution to this is - everytime i want to send something via webmail, goto iphoto, select the photos, and then export to some temp folder on the desktop, and then select that folder when uploading, and then delete the temp folder. But this seems like an unecessary extra step. So really im curious if its possible to change how iPhoto handles the storing of files on the HD (I think this is due to my ridiculous Windows behaviors coming out).

The titles you give the photos stay within iPhoto. The file name of the image in the Finder stays the same. I don't know about how you have your window views set up, but for me, when I navigate to the iPhoto Library to find a photo after hitting the attach button, I get a preview of each image I highlight. It may be because I have my Finder window set to columns, and in the Finder view (View>show view options) I have "show image preview" checked.

Changes to iPhoto pics thru Finder now don't appear in iPhoto

I have about 9000 pics in iPhoto6. I spent 7 hours doing a massive organization of them yesterday. Unfortunately, I did all the moving and renaming through the iPhoto library in FINDER. These changes now do NOT appear in iPhoto. I've searched this forum for help and see that TD advised never to do this. Of course, I never suspected changes made in Finder wouldn't be changed in iPhoto. Is there any way to fix or work around this problem so I don't lose all my hard work? We're purchasing iLife8 this week. Don't know if that will help at all?

I regret to say that you've rather wasted all your hard work.
Upgrading to iLife 08 will not solve this problem.
iPhoto is a database, and like any database requires that you manipulate the data via the app itself. In other words: You do ALL your work in the iPhoto Window and let it look after the files.
Are you using iPhoto 6 now? If so, this will create a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Problem in Accept changes using offline

This is a weird problem we are facing, whenever some one accepts changes for a rejected shopping cart from the e-mail , the shopping cart status is approved instead of release rejected, can some body help with any note or any report which I need to look to solve this defect.

Ok, I got a chance to sit down and inspect your code. You are getting an exception, but it is not a DaqException. The code as written will cause an access violation. In ThunkClass::Thunk, you have

CDiomxHandler is not a CWnd-derived class and is not your main window. The c-style cast succeeds as a dangerous reinterpret_cast (you should have gotten a warning C4669) and executes OnDataReady with an invalid this pointer. You see the first dialog box in OnDataReady because you have not yet attempted to access any members on the invalid this pointer. When you attempt to get the reader pointer to call EndReadS
ingleSampleMultiLine, you get an access violation.
If you rewrite the code to pass the pointer to your CDiomxHandler as the "AsyncState" when you begin your asynchronous read, you can retrieve it from the IAsyncResult and get your CDiomxHandler pointer. (AsyncState exists for precisely this purpose). I've attached a simplified version of your program that does this. This example uses a small amount of advanced .NET interop code to package the CDaqHandler pointer into a managed Object* and unpackage it in the thunk. This is just one way to do it, there certainly are other ways.

Need word with track/accept changes enabled for iPad

When is Apple going to provide a version of Word of iPad that includes track changes/accept changes like the full version of word?
This is an essential feature for editing documents.

Apple doesn't provide any version of Word - Microsoft does. Even if MS does develop and release Word for iPad, there is no guarantee that this feature will be there - I don't think any of the leading WP apps in the app store provide tracking changes.
There are two apps that allow you to access a full version of Word through remote servers - CloudOn and Desktop OnLine. They are free for now, so worth checking out.

Auto Accept changes during sync

To Desktop Manager product manager & developers,
Is their any plan to allow for an option to automatically accept changes during a desktop organizer syncronization? I am using version 4.7 with Outlook and was hoping to have this kind of option and not need to answer the "accept changes" prompts.

In blackberry desktop manager v5.0.1, with Outlook 2007, you can enable auto-accept changes.
Go into BB DM > Synchronize > (from left menu) configure-Synchronization > push Synchronization button on right. This will bring up Intellisync - Setup. Click advanced button > Confirmations, uncheck Confirm record deletions, uncheck confirm changes and additions
done and done.
