Access connection icon won't allow shrinking of the Sidebar (thick wide icon)

this one is wierd but I can't get it fixed I just installed new HDD with everything fresh Win 7/64 sp1. This ACCESS CONNECTION (v. 5.97) icon won't allow me to shrink sidebar ,even thou in my old HDD I'm able to shrink it. Whole new install is same as on old HDD. I UNLOCK the side taskbar, remove the access connection, then LOCK the taskbar. Then I add ACCESS CON. and the sidebar widens again. helpppp pls :-) How can I fix that ugly wide icon? :-) seriously, its bad

...never mind....downgraded Access Connection to 5.93 and could shrink the sidebar.....good example of how newer doesn't always mean better :-)

I call BS but the tech guy was insistent that the iPhone can detect what plan I have and won't enable the feature and there's nothing they can do about it, short of selling me a larger data plan...

Actually it does.  It's wrong to lie to a customer.  By blaming Apple, they shift the blame and make it seem like there is nothing they can do about it.  If they admitted it was their policy, I could complain and try to get it changed or I could move to another carrier.
If a person killed someone and blamed it on a heart attack, the person is stil dead, does it matter? Either way they're dead, right...  (extreme, I know, but illustrating a point)
    Wow.
It is certainly Rogers policy and is not unusual at all among carriers.
Seems like a non-issue to me, but apparently being "lied to" ( perhaps the employee was simply mistaken, it happens) is a major deal to you.

  • I just used "Erase" via "Find my phone" to erase and rest my MBP. It's caused my MBP to be locked. I entered correct 4 digit PIN and it seemed to accept it, but it won't allow use of the internal drive. Yosemite loaded. Anyone else had same problem?

    Greetings Fraser Alexander,
Erasing your Mac shouldn't harm your internal hard drive but erasing does clear Yosemite and everything else off of it.  Are you not able to restore it with your Time Machine backup?
    iCloud: Erase your device
If you erase then find your Mac, you can restore the information on the Mac using a Time Machine backup. For more information, see the Apple Support article Recover your entire system. If you set an EFI firmware password on your Mac before it was lost, then erase it and later find it, you may need to take your Mac to an authorized repair center to unlock it before you can use it again.

  • Access Connections icon in taskbar

Can someone tell me how to retrieve my wireless icon signal bar in the taskbar.  I think I turned off access connections being shown in the taskbar and cannot find how to turn it back on....help!

Open Access Connections, switch to Advanced view and click on the Tools tab.
Click on Global Settings, then the Notifications tab.  The settings you want are there.

  • Access Connections icon on the left side instead of the right side on taskbar

As stated in the title of this post the icon of Access Connection 5.72 is on the left side. The only way to have it correctly on the right side is to go to 'Toolbars' on the task bar -> uncheck Access Connections -> apply -> recheck Access Connections -> apply -> ok
    Lenovo, please fix this

    @kingskawn,
Could you let me know where can I obtain this SCCM software so I may try to replicate this bug?
Also do update the TVAC to the latest version.
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73682
I understand you are using Update Retriver to download the software but there are some delays in the Update Retriver compared to the Lenovo Support site. Therefore try installing the latest TVAC and then install the SCCM software and see the bug still occur.

  • Access connections wont show more than just the top bar.

    First of, hi everybody o/
second, sorry if this isn't the right section, but isn't sure where to out it otherwise.
I'm not sure what I might have done, but access connections now looks like this:
I haven't been able to find anyting to help, because honestly, I don't know how to describe the problem.
It on a R500 with Win XP.

I had this exact same problem with Access Connections 5.2 and Windows 7 (and have also had similar problems with Access Connections over the years) and it always boils down to updating the following and other drivers to the latest versions:
    Power Manager
    Wi-fi drivers
    Ethernet drivers
    Hotkey buttons and features
NOTE: Don't rely on the Auto Update Utility and always do it manually - sometimes uninstall Access Connections and re-install after appying these updates. I did it and the problem is gone after reboot.
Maybe some other driversalso  need updating depending on the version of Access Conections so read the readme which for AC 5.72 in this case is

  • Suggestion : A Tool or a Window that allow to emulate the font thickness.

    Here's a suggestion for Illustator.
Many fonts doesn't have a "bold" option or even a "light" option. We can do this by redrawing the font, but that's not a smart way to work, since we're using a graphic software. Illustrator must have a tool or a windows that allow you to emulate the font thickness, using a algorithm to determine the font proportions.
If I'm wrong, and Illustrator already have a tool like that, please inform me.
    Thanks

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
but Myriad or Helvetica can be do easily.
Just because fonts are sans-serif doesn't mean they have uniform thickness strokes. Neither Myriad nor Helvetica do. What you are describing is commonly known as faux bold. As has been explained, it is a very amateurish practice, like disproportionately scaling text instead of using a proper condensed. It's a bad idea. Don't do it. For those who insist on such bad practice, it's no big deal to apply a stroke to the text.
It certainly should not be encouraged as a standard feature.

  • Firefox is saying it is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections and won't allow me access after months of using it. Uninstalling and reinstalling has had no effect. Help!

Recently McAfee recommended I block 'roaming.dwm.exe' which I did. Could that have caused the problem? Since then I have swapped to AVG which found 3 Trojans and removed them, but I still cannot access Firefox. I have checked my Internet Connections settings and nothing is entered there.

    Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Connection
Try selecting the "No Proxy" setting. If it doesn't work, select "Use System Settings". If this still doesn't solve the problem, leave the setting at "Use System Settings", then check your connection's settings (in Windows, not FF).

  • Adobe Browserlab - Tells me network connection settings won't allow connection

I can use the Dreamweaver --> File --> Preview In Browser menu to test from so maybe it's no big deal but was just wondering if I was missing something by not having Browser Lab and if I am how do I modify my Mac Network connection settings to get Browserlab to work?

    In this one http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/846/cpsid_84665.html
    On Mac OS X
    Do the following:
    Quit all CS5 applications.
Open the Apple Property List Editor (supplied with the Apple SKD) or other property list editor application..
    Open the file [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeOnlineHelp.plist.
Select Root to see the subentries.
Locate the string object AdobeOnlineDefault. if the key does not exist, you'll need to create it.
Double-click this string value and set it's Value Data to "0" to disable CS Live access.
    Save the com.adobe.AdobeOnlineHelp.plist file.
    Quit the plist editor.
I put that value to 1 instead of 0 and it made everything work. The CS Live button in the Tool bar in all Adobe applications is for access to various online Adobe services, BrowserLab among them. I don't have Property List Editor but used Prefsetter and it worked. I've for a long time had my Adobe applications saying that they are not connected to the internet. But doing this setting today solved it for me. CS Live is not only for groups. I am a one-person operation but the CS Live button is the easiest way to reach those services you want. Provided the application don't says that it is not connected to the internet... The Adobe technote describes how top turn it off, not how to turn it on. And it is only the AdobeOnline Default that needs changing. Nothing else.

  • The iPad just won't allow apps without the code. Can anyone help?

I live in Ireland. Not the UK. So I don't have a postal code. Without a postal code I have no billing address. Without a billing address I can get no apps. Any ideas?

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get.

  • Won't allow to install the design and web premium cs6

I have downloaded the trial version for CS6 Design and Web Premium, my OS is windos xp pro, I run the Adobe Support Advisor and doesn't find anything, can anyone help me solve this issue.

Installing on Win XP requires service Pack 3, which apparently you do not have. run your windows Update and install the service pack, then try again.

  • After recently updating my copy of iPhoto to 9.5.1 I can no longer access my projects; I can see them in the sidebar, but when I click on one of them all I get is a spinning wheel.

I recently update my iPhoto software to version 9.5.1 and since the update I have been unable to open any of my projects. I can see the project folders in the sidebar, but when I click on one of them all I get is a never ending spinning wheel. Any help wouldbe much appreciated.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.

  • Access Connections and Tools won't install properly

I have followed advice uninstalled the wireless driver, access connections, hotkey, power manager. . Reinstalled all ( latest versions) except access connection. Wireless connections work correctly and all hot keys function appropriately ( including Fn +F5 ). Then I let TVSU download Access connections. An icon is placed in the task tray. Clicking on it nothing happens. Also none of the hot keys work including the blue ThinkVantage key. Once I uninstall Access connection I am back in business with the wireless connection and the hot keys working. ( for all these installs I turned off the Microsoft virus scanner and the firewall).
Have similar problem with ThinkVantage tools in that I get the Icon in the task tray and then the program freezes. No problem in reinstalling  PC doctor5

    Hi dulverton,
I find lenovo drivers and software rather eccentric; since they need to be installed in a particular order to work properly.
First uninstall your wireless driver and access connections, thereafter reboot your system. Then install wireless driver first, again reboot, subsequently install access connections, reboot again.
Further this is the order in which the following drivers must be installed for each of them to function desirably:-
    1) Lenovo PM driver
    2) Lenovo System Interface Driver
    3) Hotkey driver
    4) Wireless driver software [reboot]
    5) Access Connections [reboot]
    Hope it helps.
