Access denied on download of acrobat 10

I get the error message:

what is this?

If you were attempting to download thru the ProDesigntools site you need to follow the Very Important Instructions to the letter or else the download will fail.  You can get a message such as the one you posted or you can get the download for the latest version instead.

  • Trying to access link to download Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 software

    Hello,
I recently received a link from Adobe to download this software but cannto access it. I have tried it with Internet Explorer and Firefox to an avail. I do not think it is the link since I had it checked from Adobe. It seems to be something in the browser that I cannot find. BTW I have downloaded and tried the trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9.0 and it was downloaded and works just fine.
The message I am getting is "Windows cannot find" and the file that I was given is listed. Check spelling and try again!
    Any thoughts...?

I just received it 4 days ago from Adobe. This is due to the fact that my original disk software was destroyed and I do not have a usable back. I contacted them about this and was sent this link:
    ftp://adbecust:[email protected]/Acrobat/WIN/v8_Professional/Acrobat_Pro_8.zip
I have tryed to use it but to no avail. Customer service says that the link is correct and it is good until Oct 16th so I need to get this done asap. I am using a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro for some work until I get this fixed.
    Can you help?
    Mike

  • Acrobat Reader XI fail to open file from unc path "Access Denied"

    Hi,
When we try to open a pdf file from an unc path by double-click on it there is an error message : "There was error opening this files. Access Denied"
If we do "File -> Open" the file open correctly. Same if we copy the file localy.
After looking around Internet and other thread Acrobat Reader X got the same problem but seemed to be resolved with an update.
If we desable "Enable Protected Mode at startup" the file open correctly (it is not a solution).
Does anyone have a solution to this problem ?
    OS : Windows XP SP3
    Acrobat Reader : 11.0.2
    Regards,

I have also seen this occur with one user's computer.  Another user with similar privileges and software setup does not exhibit the same issue however.  Would love Adobe to investigate and address this issue.

  • When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.
When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:
9/23/2009 3:18:45 PM Blocked by Access Protection rule NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\iPod Service Common Maximum Protection:Prevent programs registering as a service Action blocked : Create
Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

  • Acrobat Shared Review: Access Denied?

One of the guys on our network is on a Mac, the other two on PCs, and we all have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. He is trying to send out a shared review, but whenever we click the link to the review in the "Please join this shared review" email, we get a popup message saying Access Denied.  If we navigate through all the folders to find the file manually, we can open the file, but the link will not work.
One thing I did notice is that when he sends out the email, his link is slightly different from ours; it starts out with "smb:".  What's different about the way his reviews are coming out, and how can we fix it?  Thanks in advance for any helpful input!

Try to edit the smb: link as mentioned below and then try to open it from a windows pc.
    1) Replace smb:// with \\
    2) Replace all the / with \
The way we access the network folders is different for win and mac and hence the difference in the path. So the link generated from windows machine will not be directly accessible from a Mac Machine and vice versa. A work around can be that when you send the shared review, choose the option to send as attachment after the server selection step. In this case the file will be attached to the email that is sent out and hence there will be no dependencies on the path of the file.
    Thanks,
    Abhilasha

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • "Content-Disposition" + download + "Access denied"

    Hi peoples,
I am using a simple servlet to modify some header info on a response object wrapped round an RTF file so that the user is asked whether they want to open or save rather than just opening it in IE.
I am surprised to find that doing this causes all the other elements in the window to jam up and display an "access denied" error when ever I try to use them.
I have searched around and seen that this is a bug in IE 5.5 (even though I use 6.x) and remedies that have been suggested are to use an IFrame (which to the best of my knowledge do not work in many browsers = unacceptable). Others include opening another window and triggering the download from there then closing the window.
None of these solutions are acceptable and I am hoping that someone out there has a decent solution, so if so could you please post it here.
    Cheers in advance.

  • Purchased a Digital Download of CS5, get Access Denied message

I've just purchased a digital download of Adobe Photoshop CS5 for a Mac, and the online company has given me the links and key for the download. However, following the company's directions after downloading the Adobe Download Assistant, clicking on the link sent by the company gives me an Access Denied message:
    Access Denied

Any thoughts on why my link to download CS5 doesn't work?

Well, not to state the obvious: You have been had. A company selling digital downloads of CS5 now that CS6 is out and then pointing to the trial versions? Do you need any more evidence that this is a scam? The download issues can be resolved following proper procedures as described here:
Direct Download Links for Adobe Software
Still, probably a moot point since your serial numbers will be most likely useless...
