Access Desktop button Docs-To-Go failure

On the Access Desktop 6.2 the button for Docs-To-Go Premium 11 is a failure.  It stays cycling until the Access Desktop is killed from the right click menu on the task bar.  So.....what's the purpose of the button?
And yes, I do know that I can access the Docs-To-Go app from the Windows desktop.  However, it was not my choice to put the D-T-G button on the Access app, was it?
I have looked for a fix/patch.  As a subscriber, recent registered purchaser, I expect to be contacted by the vendor for bug fixes.  If it's workarounds we're into, then where's my pay for having developed the workaround?

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
Because you are having issues with the DTG launch button as well as the Media icon (from your other thread), it seems that maybe something went awry in your Palm Desktop installation, or in the DTG installation.  I have both DTG and Palm Desktop 6.2.2 on my desktop, but the Palm Desktop does not have the the DTG icon.  This could be because I installed PD 6.2.2 over top of an existing installation of PD 4.2 but never reinstalled DTG afterwards...could be that eitherh reinstallation of DTG will correct this, or...
This thread posts links to perform a clean uninstall of Palm Desktop, which might help especially if your Palm Desktop 6.2.2 installation was done over an existing installation of an earlier version.
Actually, it is your choice whether the DTG or any other icon for that matter, appears on the Palm Desktop application.  Just right-click anywhere in the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen where the buttons appear, select Customize, and un-check any icons you wish.

  • Access Privileges Button does not bring up pop-up Menu -- SOLUTION

    Hi. I was puzzling for a long time over why my Access Privileges Button did not work under System Preferences // Sharing on the Apple Remote Desktop Panel. I tried re-installing the Remote Desktop Bundle, removing System caches and so forth but nothing fixed it.
    The culprit was that somehow the following support file was missing: RemoteDesktop.bundle inside of the following directory: /System/Library/PreferencePanes/SharingPref.prefPane/Contents/Resources .
    I copied the file from another MacBook by selecting System/Library/PreferencePanes/SharingPref.prefPane in the Finder and then using the option menu to select Show Package Contents.
    I hope this will help anyone else who has run across this problems. Thanks.

    Thankyou VonHamhorse. I was met with the same problem.. EXACTLY. Your solution worked. My situation involved two Intel iMacs. Pre-sharing pane problems, I deleted the extra user from the iMac in question. (I was having to enter in an admin name and password everytime I upgraded the software. I found by deleting the second user that was installed by an ARD Admin package, I no longer had to enter in two sets of confirmations for each time I upgraded software.) However, after that deletion, I no longer could access the iMac via ARD Admin. I was working on that iMac tonight and decided to check out the "Sharing Control Panel" when I discovered I had no drop down menu. A quick search in discussions brought up your solution and in minutes, I had control again! Hopefully I'll be able to rectify my connection now.. Thanks again.

  • Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures

    Hi,
    We have a portlet that allows users to upload files to a SQL Server database and make it available for other users to access. The portlet code is on our remote servers. Everything works fine in dev environment, but certain files fail in pre-prod and prod within the portal, but work fine when the code is executed outside the portal.
    I keep getting this error:
    Error - Portal failed to access remote resource due to network failures. Try again later or contact your portal administrator.
    What could the problem be?
    Thank you for your help.
    Rad

    If the Studio service looks good on the remote server where Studio is installed (check that
    the service is started and look in the Studio logs for any warnings or errors), you should
    also verify the configuration settings in the Studio remote server object. Is it properly
    configured and pointing to the correct remote server?
    If so, check the portal servers access to the Studio server via the port specified in the remote
    server (default is 11935). You can test this by doing a telnet test on the portal server. In a cmd
    prompt (Windows) or on the CLI (Unix), type 'telnet [studioserver] 11935', where "<servername> is
    the name of your Studio remote server. The screen should just go blank, meaning that there is
    something accepting connections on that port on the given server. (We would hope it's the Studio
    app and not another service occupying that port.) If you get "Could not open connection to the host"
    or some such similar result, check that the network between the portal and the Studio remote server
    is open (ie, make sure there isn't any port blocking or a firewall in place that would hinder the
    communication between the two servers).

  • Restrict access to buttons, regions, etc. on a per user basis?

    My application restricts access to buttons, regions, etc. on a per user basis.
    Here is my application logic...
    1. A User can only edit items they own.
    2. A Super-User can edit all items
    So, when a user logs in, I use a post-authentication process to set the user ID to an application level item.
    Now, for example, to have an edit button display on a page, I need to check the item's owner ID against the application level user ID...and check to see if this user is on the Super User list via a query.(which could be set to another application level item upon login...I guess)
    Question...What is the best way to do this? Conditional display? Authorization scheme?
    Would something like the following work for a Conditional Display?
    Condition: SQL Expression
    &USER_ID.=&P6_ITEM_OWNER_ID. OR USER_ID in (select USER_ID from table where USER_ID=&USER_ID.)
    How would I do this with an Authorization Scheme? (I like the idea of updating the logic in single location...but I'm not sure if it is possible because I have to check PX_OWNER_ID would be different on each page.)

    Hi Denes,
    Thanks for your code which allows user to edit (if authorized) and view (if not).
    But some how - I do not get the image to show up - instead it show a small underline.
    From SQL point of view - here is what I get - when i run the sql

    Here is my wrap_image function

    ret_val varchar2(1000);
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('user='||p_user_name);
    dbms_output.put_line('dm_name='||p_dm_name_id);

    else

    Hello there,
    Another option is to create a sap* user( then no other user can login) create another user and try login.
    The steps are given here
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/ToResetAdministratorPasswordthroughConfigTool
    But I guess CE dont have config tool. so you will have to do the same steps at NWA.
    If all these fail, I am afraid only option is to reinstall the Portal.

  • Error occured while trying to access desktop:

    Hi All,
    I've search all the threads I can find on here and tried everything they have suggested but to no avail.
    I have a customer desktop which is working in Dev/QA, it's now gone into Production and I get:
    Error occured while trying to access desktop:"[location of desktop]t". The object does not exit or you are not authorized to access it .if this probblem persiste contact your system administrator.
    The object exists as the main_rules will apply the pcd location of the desktop.
    I've made sure the permissions of all the folders and the objects match QA and the Everyone group and eu role has Read and end user assigned.
    Security Zone permissions match and it works if I assign Super Admin to the user.
    Any help appreciated!

    Hello All,
    I just experienced the same. I had all properties set ok, but no acces for the desktop when loggin in.
    So I did what is written above: just changed the Desktop Id and magically I could login/access it
    Probably PCD inconsistencies is the cause of this issue.
    Best Regards,

  • Access multiple buttons in a loop??

    Hi,
    This is a continuation of my last question and I am hoping Ned will tell my what to do. I am really thankful for all your help so far...:) The problem now is that I need to access the buttons in the following format.
    img1._alpha = 100;
    I tried the following within the loop,
    ["img" + i]._alpha
    "img" + i._alpha
    both are incorrect. Can you please tell me how I can attach the i to img, so that I can call it within a loop??

    the brackets need a lead in object, so if there is no containing object (like an mc), "this" usually works... though you could also probably use _root (avoid using _root unnecessarily/habitually though)
    this["img" + i]._alpha

  • Beachball When I Access Desktop and Screensaver Preferences

    This is strange. When I try to access Desktop and Screensaver Preferences in System Preferences, I get a beachball after a few seconds. The D and S Pref window shows up at first but there is nothing showing for either the current desktop or the current screensaver, and clicking on anything hastens the appearance of the beachball. I then have to force quit System Preferences.
    All other items in System Preferences seem to be working OK. The only other oddity I have noticed is that downloaded files do not appear directly on top of my Macintosh HD icon on my Desktop (like they always had), but they appear on the Desktop in another nearby location.
    I have logged out and in, restarted, repaired permissions, verified disk and even reinstalled the Combo 10.4.11 updater. I have also trashed com.apple.desktop. plist, all without success.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Steve M.

    Thanks for responding baltwo. After puzzling over my problem, I finally arrived at the idea that somehow the screensaver I was using had developed a problem. So I pulled my WorldBook 2003 screensaver to the Desktop and logged out and back in and lo and behold my Screensaver Preferences worked as normal!
    Since my WorldBook installation is not very current, I suppose there may be conflicts of some sort with 10.4.11 (of course I don't know for sure when this problem started).
    I guess I could put the WorldBook screensaver back in place and try deleting the prefs you suggested and see what happens. I'm a little leery of deleting systempreferences prefs for fear of losing a bunch of my settings. Since I don't really need the WB screensaver I may just leave it out permanently.
    By the way, what exactly is meant by the ByHost preferences?
    Thanks,
    Steve M.

    You need to be able to connect to the CMS port. If this is not working even via telnet then there must be a firewall rule somewhere preventing it. Unless traffic is allowed to pass to the CMS on it's configured port (6400 by default) then any further troubleshooting is unnecessarry.

  • Palm ACCESS desktop for 6.2 error

    Everytime I tried to open the month of April on my palm desktop - it would give me an error and shut it down. Now that we are in the month of April, I cannot even open palm ACCESS desktop - it immediately says it encountered an error and must shut down. I uninstalled and reinstalled Palm ACCESS desktop 6.2 and the program will open again, but if I try to click on the month of april, it does the error/shut down again - HELP!
    Post relates to: Treo 700p (Verizon)

    Try doing a clean uninstall of the Palm program to resolve your issue. Here are the clean uninstall instructions:
    You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
    happens. You can find your data files by going to Start --> Documents -->
    Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and
    copy. Then go to your PC desktop right click on a blank spot and select paste.
    Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
    with Palm Desktop from your computer.
    Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below.
    C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or
    PalmOne
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata
    *Note you may need to view hidden folders to get to appdata. To do that go
    into your control panel and open folder options. Go to view tab and uncheck
    hide hidden files.
    Once this is done you will need to delete some registry keys from your PC Operating System.
    Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
    from starting up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
    you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
    PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to delete. To make sure we have a good copy of the current registry, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
    Go to start on the PC, in the search field type "regedit.exe" without quotes.
    Highlight COMPUTER, go to File --> Export. Should pop up with a Save As box.
    Current location is fine, should be in My Documents or save to a location you will remember. In the file name on the bottom type "backup[todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Next, the hard part.
    The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
    If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
    BUT do not turn off your computer.
    The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
    but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer.
    Once your computer has been rebooted you are ready to reinstall the Palm Software. If you are using Windows XP we recommend you use the Palm Desktop 4.1.4e or 4.2 versions. If you are running Vista we recommend using Palm Desktop 6.2. You can locate these programs on www.palm.com under the support page.

  • Access IBM button doesn't work

    For some reason my Access IBM button doesn't work. I'm not sure if it has ever worked. This is a refurbished ThinkPad R50, Windows XP Pro. Is there any way to fix it? Thanks.....

    Hi,
    in case you just want to have back to F11 option by system startup, then all you need to do is following:
    - check if you have "Rescue and Recovery " application installed
    - If yes, then uninstall it
    - if not, then go to Lenovo.com and download the latest version of Rescue and Recovery
    - once it's downloaded, simply install it
    This installation will modify also the MBR of your system and the F11 option will be present again. Although it might not create a physical partition, but it will instead create a virtual patition, but you will have the F11 option back.
    IMPORTANT: In case you have already captured some backups using Rescue and Recovery, then DONT! uninstall it, just reinstall RnR .
    Cheers

  • How to access a button inside a MovieClip which is the source of a scrollpane?

    Hi Everyone,
    I have created a crollpane in my flash file and the source of the scrollpane is a movieclip which contains a buttons.
    Now I want to add a gotoAndStop function to that button to link to a frame on the main timeline.
    Could anyone tell me what is the right as3 code to access this button?
    Thank you!

    Hi Ned,
    I'm still getting a error message. This is my code:
    MovieClip(spane8.content).AppsOptimizerBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, gotoApp1);
    function gotoApp1(event:MouseEvent):void
              gotoAndStop(21);
    This is the error:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
              at MyAssests_Scene2_fla::MainTimeline/frame11()
              at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop()
              at MyAssests_Scene2_fla::MainTimeline/gotoAppStore()
    Frame 11 is where my scrollpane is.
    "gotoAppStore" is a function that I used at frame 1 to link to frame 11.
    Any idea what is wrong?

  • 'Desktop' Button Perma-faded

    Hey all...
    I just got the new iPhoto 6 and something is bugging me.
    The 'Desktop' button that used to make the selected picture my background is faded out. Ive tinkered with a few things both in iPhoto and in the System Prefrances and still nothing.
    I could just go through my files in the Desktop pref. pane but I liked it better when it was a push of a button.
    Thanks ahead of time!

    Hi OS G and the others that jumped in on this thread with the same problem,
    The only things others have reported on working for this problem is
    -make sure the person changing the desktop image has administrative and/or
    Go into system Preferences>Security
    uncheck the box that says "require password to unlock each secure system preference"

    Hi ..
    Unfortunately, you're stuck between a rock and a hard place until Yosemite is released this fall. Hopefully sometime in October.
