Access Enforcer - Manager Approvers from LDAP

Hello
We have AE tied to LDAP, from which its gets user, requester and manager information.
Today we use Customer Approver Determinator, to configure the approvers.
We would like to enable 'manager approval' in AE.
Does AE support 'Manager Approver' from LDAP.
Thanks

Thanks for your answer.
Like I mentioned we have LDAP as the user data source.
But in Custom Approver Determinator, there is no way to set up the LDAP manager as approver.
Can you please shed more light on this?
Thanks again.

  • How can I retrieve/compute an X509 certificate's thumbprint in Python and then use it for accessing Service Management APIs from Python SDK?

    Hello,
I am using Azure Python SDK to perform calls to ServiceManagement APIs.
I have a .publishsettings file generated for my account which includes an encoded version of my X509 certificate and all of my subscription IDs.
How can I retrieve/compute an X509 certificate's thumbprint in Python?
Following is the code snippet that helps us do it in .Net.
Is there a similar approach to do it in Python?
    var publishSettingsFile = @"C:\temp\CORP DPE Account-11-16-2011-credentials.publishsettings";
    XDocument xdoc = XDocument.Load(publishSettingsFile);
    var managementCertbase64string = xdoc.Descendants("PublishProfile").Single().Attribute("ManagementCertificate").Value;
    var importedCert = new X509Certificate2(Convert.FromBase64String(managementCertbase64string));
    thumbprint = importedCert.Thumbprint;
Once I have the thumbprint, how can I use that thumbprint to access Service Management APIs from Python SDK?
    Thank you in Advance!

  • How to access solaris management console from web browser??

    Hi,
I am running Sol9 with the latest patches. The console gui freezes every time I try to admin NIS users in my NIS toolbox. It used to work but now it doesn't. I need to access this thing from a web browser if that's possible since there is no console that I can install on my windows laptop that can connect to the server.
Can this be done?? I can't find any info on docs.sun.com on what URL and port to use.
I did find something that says there is a /usr/sadm/bin/smcwebserver but it does not exist on any of my machines.
    Help?? Please???
    Thanks,
    Tom

On my machine, when I point my browser to http://<hostname>:898 (the management server port) I get a nice message telling me that a web version of the Solaris Management Console is not currently available. Running the console tells me I'm running v2.1 which is what came out of the box.
I think the webserver component you refer to only ships with v3.0 and later. You can go to http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/sunmanagementcenter/index.html and download a base version for free to check it out.
By the way, I don't use a remote console to manage remote servers. It's too clunky. My solution for running the SMC remotely is to start an XServer on my laptop, telnet to the Sun host, su - root, set DISPLAY=<mylaptop>:0 and then run smc directly from the host. As long as there's no firewall blocking port 6000 between you and your host, you should be OK. This should be straightforward if you've run any graphical X apps before.
However, I don't administer NIS and my laptop is a Mac. Your mileage may vary considerably.

  • Accessing Aperture managed images from Adobe Bridge

If I import images as managed, is there any way I can use Adobe Bridge to view them?
    Thank you.
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Aperture 1.5.2

What you could do is to create a smart folder in the finder, which shows all the image files in the Aperture library. This is functionality built in to OS X 10.4 -- it's part of Spotlight.
When you viewed this folder from Bridge, you'd be able to see the image files. The only issue is, they would all appear in one long list -- which could be a real pain if you had 10,000+ images.
Also, it's likely that in that case that Bridge would spray XMP files inside the Aperture folder -- something I would be leery of.
IMO if you want to view the RAW files from Bridge, you should move to a referenced setup. With Aperture 1.5 converting between the two is a cinch.

  • GRC 5.3 CUP SP16 - User info not loading from LDAP into CUP

    Hello,
We have multiple LDAPS that we needed to connect to our CUP system to authenticate the userids before a request can be created for them. And also to bring in Manager ID and manager email from LDAP as the first level approver for requests.
My client hasn't maintained the actual LDAP userids, Manager and manager email fields correctly, so we utlized three other custom fields in LDAP and then did field mapping in CUP for those fields. But even when the connection to all the LDAPs is successful, there's no user information being pulled in from LDAP into CUP.  I noticed that when I use our backend SAP QA system as 'User Data Source' while using multiple LDAPS for 'User Detail Source Data' , it only reads data from SAP QA system SU01 area and even when I'm trying to create requests, no Manager info is being pulled from LDAPS for that user id.
SAP does not allow the use of multiple LDAPS for the configuration-->User Data Source , top option.  So, if a client has userids in multiple systems, it can only read from one data source.  But even when I temporarily assigned one active directory LDAP to the 'user data source' option, it stated, no records found. So, something is up that no data is being pulled from LDAPs even when the connection to those systems is successful. I just asked our AD guy to temporarily assign domain admin rights to that LDAP connection ID to see if it's access issue, and still I am not getting any LDAP data to read into GRC CUP.
Anyone else has had this issue? Is there especial access that the LDAP connection id needs access in LDAP to be able to retreive data into GRC? Is there any jobs that need to be run to read LDAP data. I thought it should be live as the system is connected to LDAPs. I don't understand if the connection is successful, why the user info is not being pulled from there and even after the LDAP custom field mapping is done, those field values are not showing up on requests.
We need the following to happen:
1). Authenticate the custom userid field in LDAPs to ensure this user exist as an employee b4 request can be created for the user. For this I have configured the multiple LDAPS for the 'Authentication'. But it doesn't seem to confirm that option when creating a request for a user.
2). The user details info source should bring in the custom manager id and manager email into the request to send the first level of approval via workflow to that manager. Since SAP doesn't give the option to define approvers per user group values in CUP, we had to actually map all the User Owner approvers this way since their direct managers are not aware of  what to request as the User owner approvers per user group are.  So, we added custom fields for Manager id and Manager EMail into LDAP to be ready automatically into the request when reading user id while creating request.
I will greatly appreciate anyone's help on how they got the LDAP field values to be read into GRC CUP for request processing and what type of encripted access can a LDAP connection id have without assigning it complete domain admin rights on an open port 389 for LDAP and GRC CUP connection.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Alley

    Hi Alley,
1). Authenticate the custom userid field in LDAPs to ensure this user exist as an employee b4 request can be created for the user. For this I have configured the multiple LDAPS for the 'Authentication'. But it doesn't seem to confirm that option when creating a request for a user.
This is not possible. You can have only 1 LDAP. Why you want to authenticate the user in different sources?? CUP looks at only one user source, not many. The below wiki explains you the configuration part:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b089fb71-a3b7-2a10-64a2-8c77243b0664
Based on user group is not possible. However, if you wish to maintain the Manager's Field, ensure that the CUP mapping is done correctly from the Configuration, Field Mapping, LDAP Mapping.
While defining the workflow, take the approver determinator as Manager. This will route the request to the users manager. Also, ensure that LDAP is the source in all the confiuration areas in CUP.
Check note 1228996 for more information.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Best practices for accessing remote management

So, I've been looking into consolidating and moving our servers and such to a colocation datacenter. A problem for me that arises from moving is, what do we do about our remote access? In a private office enviornment, I haven't ever opened up VMWare vCenter to the open internet, nor have I ever opened up DRAC/iLO past our firewall to the net. I've always just had all that management stuff hanging out on its own subnet/VLAN and I haven't ever bothered with giving remote access to anyone, really. (Well, I did once set up a windows box to allow me to RDP in and opened up the firewall for that RDP so I could then access that management VLAN from that PC)Moving to a colocation facility makes me wonder, what does everyone else do for this? Would one have a VPN configured on a router in their colo space and remote in that way, and if the...

  • Access Enforcer LDAP mappings

    Hello everyboby,
I have Access Enforcer 5.1 VP1 and I would like to know how use the LDAP mappings.
For example, I want recover the manager's name into LDAP automatically on Access Enforcer during an user request.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
    David Heang

    Hi,
First you need to connect the Connector for the LDAP when the Connector is working, You need to define the LDAP Mappings.
For Recovering the Manager Name in to Access Enforcer from LDAP (Active Directory) you need to Map the  LDAP Entry classs object "<b>manager</b>" to the Access Enforcer "LDAP Mappings"
Now the Manager for the User will be picked up if the Relationsip is defiend in the LDAP Directory.
LDAP Objects are different for the Different LDAP Types.
    Hope it Helps,

  • Access Enforcer 5.2 - LDAP connexion fail

    Hello everybody,
We realised an upgrade Access Enforcer 5.1 VP1 to Access Enforcer 5.2 with SP03 but we can't connect LDAP to AE. Before, the connexion to LDAP was ok.
However, when we test the connexion in AE 5.2, the message " Connexion successfull" appears but the connexion fails when we try to authentificate to AE for a request or when we try to search user data fo example (the AE message is "action failed").
Do you have the same error with AE5.2 ?
Thank you very much for your assistance,
    Best regards,
    David Heang

There is a query below that you need to list in the SQL box, but this address varies based upon your support pack.  If you're up to date (or close to) on SPs, enter the following address into your web browser AFTER logging into AE:  http://<server>:<port>/AE/opensql_test.jsp.
Paste the following query into the SQL box:
    SELECT DISTINCT
    WPHST.REQNO,
    WPHST.REQPATHID,
    WPHST.PATHNAME,
    WPHST.STATUS AS REQUEST_STATUS,
    TBLPATHSTAGE.STAGENAME

when i try the same with a nwdi managed web dynpro component i run into problems regarding references to used dcs. for instance, i need to reference used dc SAP_JTECHS/tc/epbc/pcm/adminapi/java because the build needs tcepbcpcmadminapijava.jar which is inside the mentioned dc. but access permissions of this dc don't allow the dependency. when i try to "add used dc ..." in nwds i get the error message: illegal dependency: access list does not allow use of ...
has someone any solution for this problem? are there other ways of accessing pcd-objects from java web dynpro (nwdi managed!)?

  • Accessing Managed Beans from Code

    Hi,
How can I access managed beans from my code? I am too new to JSF to know if what I am doing is right from a design perspective. But what I am trying to do is to use Actions as sort of a Web Facade that aggregates state from other beans (all of them Managed beans right now) to build up state that is necessary for displaying pages.
    Thanks for you help
    Suhail

Just answering my own question. The answer was given in a different thread (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=427&thread=427057&message=1901909#1901909) . JSF has provided various Factories (look at the FactoryFinder API) that allow one I presume to access the internal state of a FacesContext. One of the factory is ApplicationFactory. This factory from what I can make out essentially gives you access to everything (actionlisteners, navigationhanlder, components etc) in you application. My original question was about accessing something (for some reason) named ValueBinding. I can access the managed beans declared in my faces-config.xml by invoking getValue(facesContext). I can naturally also set the value of a bean by invoking setValue(...). I just needed the getValue and it seems to work.
Ofcourse keep in mind that the underlying managed bean will not necessarily be initialized when you access it so test for nullness. As a general rule I think its best not to create the beans but access them using this facility. After all its not for nothing these are called Managed Beans.
Now if only the faces implementation would persist the changes to Navigation hanlders that one makes in the code ;-)

  • Virsa Access Enforcer Upgrading from 5.1 to 5.2

    Hi,
we are upgrading Virsa Access Enforcer from 5.1 to 5.2 GRC acording to the Access Control 52 Product Migration Guide.
All required steps were finished successfully.
After this not a single request in AE can be displayed (Error:Request Approval Screen is not displayed because Request Status has changed),
One example of the error from the AE log:
    2007-11-08 10:24:32,160 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_12] ERROR SQL Exception in insert : [NWMss][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__VIRSA_AE_WF_STGF__149DFBA3'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.VIRSA_AE_WF_STGFLD'. ==> VIRSA_AE_WF_STGFLD : {FLD_NAME=Request Role, WFTYPE=AE, FLD_DESCRIPTION=Request Role}
neither the audit trail can be displayed (Erro:No audit trail found for given range or invalid range specified).
In AE52 there are four new tables where has new column REQPATHID added:
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WPCLD
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WPFWD
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WPHST
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WPTRN
Entries to this tables were copied during upgrade from tables:
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WFCLD
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WFFWD
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WFHST
    VIRSA_AE_RQD_WFTRN,
but REQPATHID entries was not properly created.
Btw. when did AE52 installation from scratch, not upgrade, on PROD system, i was copying table entries manualy and also had to insert REQPATHID values manually in above mentioned tables.
What I am expecting, when upgrading, this should be done by the system automatically.
Has anyone similar experience with upgrading and how you handle with this.
    Thank you.

    Hi Christof,
The VB codes used in the excel sheets are only excel dependent. I don't think Microsoft has any backward compatability issue with 2003 to 2007. Similarly the VB commands from 5.1 is maintained in 7 so you should not face any major issues there too.

  • Upload of role in Access Enforcer 5.2.

    Hi All,
I need to upload roles in Access Enforcer from SAP ECC system. Actually i have uploaded the roles in Access Enforcer, but all unwanted roles have also got uploaded.
Now i need some way, first to clean entire uploaded roles & then upload selected roles.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pravin

    Hi Pravin,
       Here are the steps:
    1) Download all the roles into an excel spreadsheet:
Go to configuration -> Roles- Search roles -> Click on 'Export' button. This CUP, go to 'Search Roles'. Click on 'Search' button without providing any search criteria. This will return all the roles available in CUP. Now, click on Export button. CUP will export all the roles into Excel spreadsheet in the format which CUP understands.
    2) Delete all the roles from CUP: Now, in the same screen as above, select all the roles and delete them.
    3) Delete not needed roles from spreadsheet and upload it into CUP:
Now, delete all the unwanted roles from CUP and play with the spreadsheet to manipulate other parameters like role approvers, systems, business process etc and upload that spreadsheet into CUP.

  • Access Enforcer Import Role Automation

We would like to automatically import roles from SAP.
We do know that you can use Role Expert which in itself can be used to automate the import. However, we still have to manually import into AE - even if RE is used as the role source.
Is there a way to periodically automate the import from either SAP or RE because it does not make sense to have to manuall import roles every time a new role is created in SAP.
    Thanks

    Actually, it does make sense.
One of the prime features of Access Enforcer is that you don't import all the roles, but just the ones you want users to be able to request.
For each of the roles, it's useful to put them into some kind of category (functional area, business process, sub-process), which makes handling for users a lot easier, and you have to assign approvers.
One way to do that is to use an Excel spreadsheet and manage the data there. Easy to use and update, and quick to upload into AE.
    Kind regards,
    Frank.

  • Access Enforcer Implemntation

    Hi,
I have experiance on CC &FF and never installed Access enforcer. So our company planned to go Access enforcer on exising landscape.
So how I can implement access enforcer, is there a step-by-step document?
Can I implement on same system where we are running CC?
Do I need to install any additional add-ons or components ?
How long will it take to implement for this compoenet?
    Please give your thoughts.
    - Jim

    Jim,
As it is suggested by Frank, need to have the product knowledge thorughly before going to management.
As implementation of CUP will require lot of understanding of other areas including your landscape design, workflows with different modules & configuration HR trigerrs.
Please find the few features from CUP :->
    1)  Automates, accelerates and tracks the user access request process using  workflow for SAP and non-SAP systems
    2) Integrated risk analysis and mitigation capabilities keep the system clean  during compliant provisioning
    3)  User authentication from either LDAP or SAP systems
    4) Password Self Service for end users
      5)  Automated email notification to appropriate parties
6)Actually provisions user accounts and access changes into the backend SAP  systems

  • Access af:table values from JavaScript array (for google maps task)

    Hi!
I have JSP page with af:table where latitude and longitude for google maps are stored. I am using these tutorial [https://blogs.oracle.com/middleware/entry/integrating_google_maps_with_adf] and I know how to access latitude and longitude from output text (for one point). Now i need to do something similar with loop for all table rows. How can I achieve this?
I have JavaScript code which uses Google Maps API and can display many points on one map. Also I have longitude and latitude data in af:table (bindings), each table row has one point. My task is to take data from af:table and pass it to JavaScript.
May be it is better to use managed bean as you said. Firstly I will access binding data from managed bean. Then I have to pass this data to JavaScript method? Can you suggest some example? I have "Using JavaScript in ADF Faces Rich Client Applications"
