Server starts fine and the access file type is ascii text
As soon as someone hits the site the file type changes to data
These were migrated using the interface and I ahve also tried tobuild a new site and get the same results.

If the server gets a small request GET /f5/proxy.html all is fine. When it gets its first request longer than that it starts corrupting and you can see part of the first request in the second request log entry. It happens on any every server I have that was migrated . I have also created a brand new site through the GUI and get the same results.
Once I stop and start the site the logs are fine until a first long request.
All of this started when I migrated to this version.
Thanks for all of your help!

After installing Acrobat/Reader on Windows 7 or Vista, icons of all applications/file-types change to Acrobat/Reader icon and double clicking on any icon/file launches Acrobat/Reader (instead of the native application associated to the file type). Is there an easy fix for this problem?

I'm sorry, but I wasn't aware of a native PDF viewer for Windows.
Nonetheless, if you want to change your default PDF application in Windows, you need to right click on any .PDF file, select "Properties",
    then "Change",
then select the program you want to open a PDF with.

  • File type changing during "Save As" - Help!

Good Morning!  I have a set of tif files converted from RAW that I'm resizing for an order for a client and every time I do a "Save As", the file gets changes to an extension of $CB, then Adobe and nothing else will recognize it.
    The history;
Converted RAW to Tif in Bridge CS3
Opened in PSCS3 extended - cropped to size - do the Save As, still shows the file as a Tif in file type - reopened the original to make another size and noticed that file I just created is not there.  No, I didn't save the file with the same name, thus Save As.
My normal file naming, I just add a designated letter at the end of my file name to indicate the finished size ie.. legion post 576_001D.tif (D = 8 x 10)  The original file would be    legion post 576_013.tif.  I did this on 3 different computers, using PS 7.01, CS2, CS3 and CS4, all the same results.
Also, I can view the original tif in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer - as I normally am able to, however, this new one comes up with the error and unrecognizable file.
Now I'm wondering did the RAW conversion did something.
Help, I need to get these off to my printing service!
    thanks,
    Jan

    Never mind!  Found the problem!
For some reason, there was a check on the “Hide Extensions for Known file Types”.
I had to Go to Tools – Folder Options – View and uncheck “Hide Extensions for Known file Types”.  Would have never guessed that one!
You know one of those places your always changing things in!!!!! NOT!
    Anyway, it works!

  • File type changed to Unix Executable File

    Hello:
I restored a corrupt Word file from a back-up drive (files are backed up using a special rsync that splits data and metadata forks. I did not assemble the two forks before copying the file back to the production volume) into a production folder in a local machine. Now when I browse the volume from my networked computer all Word files without extensions show up as Unix Executable Files. I've cleared the Launch services in the networked machine with no results. If I browse from other networked computers file types are set correctly. The problem seems to be with this specific networked machine. What an I do to restore file types as they should be? Please, note the problem seems to be with the client machine not the file server.

Thanks, Kappy. I've tried that but I get an error message saying "An error ocurred while changing...because not enough information is available." Could that mean that the action cannot be done because these files don't have extensions? When I go ahead and select to use Word to always open the file it only takes effect on that file. But the file remains a Unix Executable file.
Could anyone provide any further help with this issue?

  • Provisioning log is not available on Access request type Change Account

    Hi,
So I have and issue when I try to submit a request to add a role to a user and I'm trying to understand what could be the reason for it.  Basically I have a workflow that works perfectly for a "Change Request".  I can see that all the steps are executed and then at the end of the request when is suppose to do the actual role assignment I see the message "Provisioning log is not available" then the approval path is finish and the request is closed but when I take a look at the user in the back end the role is not assign.  In terms of access I have try giving SAP_ALL to WF-Batch, nothing shows in Yellow or Red on SLG1 and in SPRO->AC-> User Provisioning -> Define request Type I see "Change Account" with SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST.  What else can I do to troubleshoot this error?
Note: I when back to the  to the AC 10.0 Pre-Implementation From Post-Installation to First Access Request and everythings looks right in terms of the AC Configuration settings.

    Hi Jonathan,
In my question I was referring to SPRO - GRC/access control/user provisioning / maintain provisioning settings. Those need to be setup (min. global provisioning settings) in order to have role being assigned to user at the end of path.
Change account option you can see under request type is referring to change user master data(e.g. password/ account validity / details).
Is this system maintain by CUA? If so settings have to be different (see CUA settings in SPRO)
I would recommend moving to SP14 as in SP13 there were many bugs, by the way I believe the worst SP ever since beginning of AC is SP13 (maybe due to number), as it destroys many working functionality.

  • Signatures File Type change??!?!

I am wondering if there is any way for when you save a form as a PDF and have multiple signature areas if there is any way to have a user upload a .tiff file instead of the digital ID files. (.p12, .pfx, .apf) Any help would be great! I have no idea..

Actually, I guess it's possible you were using paid-for Adobe software and didn't realise it.
Can you remember the steps you followed to make a PDF in your old system?

  • Newbie stuck - how do I change the file type of a photo I am formatting from a TIFF to a JPG?

I am new to Aperture and struggling to figure out some of the basics, even with the tutorials.  I need to submit a photo for an art competition - the master is a TIFF and I need a JPG under 1.8 MB - how do I change the new version's file type and keep it with the master?
    Thank you in advance.

I can't recommend the method proposed by Carolyn Samit; in fact, I recommend ignoring it.
Aperture is large, complex, and can take some time to learn to use.  It is also quite powerful, and can handle nearly all -- or all -- common tasks you throw at it.
I have written a very short guide to Aperture which was intended to provide some firm footing for those getting started.  I humbly suggest that you start with a quick review.
One of the things that presents a bit of disorientation for new users is that, in practice, Aperture keeps your pictures in a kind of limbo.  There are good reasons for this -- suffice it for now to accept that you import image-format digital files into Aperture, you use Aperture to organize and optimize these as Images, and then when need a file to use outside of Aperture, you export you Image.  It is at export that you format your Image: you select the file type, the compression amount, the file name, the file size, and more.
In your case, then, you will export your Version, and set the file type to TIFF (recommended above JGP whenever quality is paramount). There is no way to know the file size in bytes prior to creating it.  Start with a full-size TIFF and, if necessary, knock it down by percentage until the exported file is less than 1.8 MB.
There is no reason to attempt to keep this file with the Image in Aperture.  Send it on its way.  Any time you need another file from your Image, you can create it fresh via "File→Export→Version".
HTH.  If it doesn't, ask more.

  • Changing "file type" in Link Information Window (CS3)

    Hola,
I am having a problem in Indesign (CS3), and I was wondering if anyone here might be able to help.
I'm a student updating an older .INDD file for a 47 page book. The pages were all updated as .AI files, but for some reason
3 of the pages in our InDesign document were assigned a .PDF "file type" in the Link Information window.  When I try and "Relink" to the updated .AI files,
the program won't link to the .AI file. It will properly re-link to a .PDF version of the file.
Is there a way to reset that "file type" in the Links Window from .PDF to .AI?
Ultimately I can use .PDF versions for this, but I'd prefer to have them all .AI files.
That would be cleaner and easier for the next students down the road who are going
to inheriet this project.  It seems like this should be an easy thing to do, but I can't figure it out...
Thank you very much for any information you can provide.
    ¡Muchas gracias!
    Javier

    Hola,
Thank you for the quick reply!  I now suspect that I didn't correctly identify the problem.
In the Links Panel for 44 of the 47 pages, they read pathname/*.AI, so no problem there (although the file type is also .PDF in the link window for those 44 pages that can link to the .AI).
For three of the pages though, when I try and link them to pathname/*.AI, I get an error message in the document that indicates that "this is an Adobe Ilustrator file that was saved without PDF content".  When I relink those three to pathname/*.pdf, they work.
So I'm thinking at this point that the problem isn't Indesign, but with the original .AI files that I'm trying to link to. I also suspect that my original idea to change the "file type" in the Links Panel to ".AI" is incorrect, since it's a .PDF file type for all of the 47 pages in this document!
    ¡Muchas gracias!

  • Change icon for file type

how to change icon for all of the tile type? not just one, but all!

Changing the file icon will not enable Quicktime to play Matroska files. Changing the file suffix might.
It could be a 'difficult' form of Matroska file. FYI Matroska is just a container like MOV or AVI, and some mkv have the video encoded with Real Video Codec (RV9 RV10). Perian+QT can't decode this, but VLC will play .mkv files just fine on OS X, as long as they don't use H.264!
It's a bit of a lottery until Matroska decide to support the Apple platform. I have found this:
    http://mkv4mac.free.fr/index.php?lang=en&p=lec
    which may help.
But there may be another workaround: 1. Get Info the mkv file
    2. Change to extension to wmv. Save as wmv and that could work better.
Or this link may be helpful:
    http://www.squidoo.com/mkv-converter-mac
Recently, a poster (ZachP14) suggested this:
"There's a program called Plex that runs .mkv files awesome on my 2.0 ghz macbook."

    Maybe worth a try?

  • Change file type classification? mkv as "Movie"

In short, I would like to make mkv files show up under the class of "Movie" in smart folders and such. I'm assuming that buried in some setting or file there is a list of extensions I can add "mkv" to. I would have thought this was a common question but so far forum trawling has got me nowhere. Can anyone shed some light? The reason, if you care to read is below, but it doesn't have that much bearing on the question.
I have a sizeable DVD collection, I also have a new job that puts me in hotels 5 weeks out of 6 for training. I don't want to carry them around as they'll get damaged and broken. Last week I left my MacPro chobbling away at encodes and now my entire DVD collection resides on a NAS as well as my shelves. I've created a simple automator finder service that will copy the selected files to a "Films" folder within the Movies folder that I've removed from the time machine backup so as not to waste space. This is set to only show up if the selected items are "Movies". As a consequence, it doens't appear for mkv's.
I know I can just alter the service to be there permanantly which is what I'll do for now, but it's not a very elegant solution.

I was able to change the extension in Windows, which then changed the file type. I'm still curious as to how to make the change directly on my MAC.

  • How can I change the default "file type" in the open file dialog when using Firefox on certain web pages?

I work for a bankruptcy attorney. We use the Court's file upload to file our documents. When I am on the Court's site and I have to pick a file to upload, the "open file" dialog box pops up. In Firefox, the default "file type" is always "image" files. I need it to be "all files". How can I change this setting?

    Two observations.
First — "Tools-> ...." is specific to Acrobat X and XI. It did not exist prior to Acrobat X.
Second — Acrobat 9 Pro / Standard (nor earlier release) does not support viewing a PDF page containing a scanned image and performing a right-click  ... Save Image As.
The context menu provided by Acrobat 9 Pro with a right-click on a scanned image is:
The context menu, from a right-click with the TouchUp Object tool selected, for Acrobat 9 Pro is:

  • Changing default open with for file type for all users

    hello
can I change the default app to open a specific file type for all users and not juist for my user?
i am admin for my mac mini.
    tnx
    gil

What applications are offered for open with depends on the application itself informing the system it can open certain files, plus your own custom selections for opening files. Evidently the alternate app you want to use does not claim to be able to open the files you are assigning it. If you have a plist editor and know how to use it you could edit the info.plist file inside the application itself to add the file type you want to the application's declaration of file types it will open. Then restart so the system will read that declaration. I think it would be far easier to simply launch the application and then drop a file you want it to open onto its icon in the Dock.
