Access for Servers tab

We need to give access for Instance manager and Server tab to a group in BOBJ CMC . Access for Instance manger is arranged . I tried to maintain user security for each server node in under Servers tab , but not able to view Servers tab under a specific login .
Any Idea how it could be done ?

Samba - disabling access for certain users on domain member servers

Hi all!
I'm running a small network that has domain logons for windows clients and I want to have single sign on (samba shares and shell accounts) on those three servers I'm running. The problem is, I don't want to allow all users to access all servers.
I have the samba running tdbsam password backend. Do I have to use ldap backend to achieve this or is it possible to do using tdbsam backend? I'd prefer to have all configuration concerning windows domain and passwords in one place...

Access model for smart tabs: Can the new tab have a different access control list then the sources it draws from?
Scenario: Some lecture content is in a private course viewable to course members only and some is put on a public page viewable to all. Can the content on the smart tab viewable to the public have different permissions?
Scenario: Public site starts with small number of courses, say 16, located in 4 sections on the main welcome tab. Administrators have edit only rights to the Welcome page and grant editing rights to each of the course pages to others. A few months later the site has more content and decides to change the four sections on the Welcome page to four section pages with courses attached to it. The new pages would have new editors for them. Can the course pages originally located on the main welcome page be restricted to no viewers and smart tabs put in new courses connected to the new section tabs? The thought here is to avoid rebuilding the site as the architecture changes.

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Accessibility for spry menus and tabs?

How do you activate key navigation for accessibility for spry menus and tabs? What needs to be done in order to use menu for persons with screen readers to tab through?

Virtual servers tab returns error after using jdk 1.4

Hi, I configured Iplanet 6.0SP5 to use SDK 1.4.1_02 and all apears to work, EXCEPT the "virtual servers" tab. When clicking this tab I receive "page cannot be displayed" errors. Additionally, the logfile reports the following (see below). Any ideas on what's going on here ?

Can't Access Internal Servers From Behind An ASA 5505

Hi all.
I am having some trouble accessing some backup Email (Outlook Web Access) and Citrix servers located behind an ASA 5505 firewall at a remote datacentre. Simply put, when I go to the specific URL (e.g. https://citrixdr.xxx.co.uk) I do not arrive at the splash page, I just get a message saying that the server took too long to respond in the web browser. I'm wondering whether I have missed something on the configuraiton or the firewall itself is not letting my requests through.
The remote servers are located at a remote Disaster Recovery site and use the subnet 192.168.4.0/24. I am at head office which is connected to the DR site via a VPN using 192.168.1.0/24.

Hi Jouni, thanks for your response.
Turns out that the Citrix Access Gateway wasn't set up until yesterday evening and by then I had stopped trying for the day. It is now set up and external access is available.
Further to this, my colleague forgot to inform me of the change of I.P. address of the Exchange server. This meant that Webmail requests were pointing to an I.P. address that didn't exist.
I have reconfigured the firewall this morning and external access for Webmail is also working correctly.

Currently I am having a big issue to access within this website's the "SHOP section(tab)" I ca click on the tabs and read the info in each section, except for the "Shop" Tab.
While in the process of paying for my items in my cart, I received a website message saying something
To the affect that this website is being updated. Your items in your cart will be in your cart.
Then the website's screen kicked me out the door.
A few days later I accessed the main page of this website with no problem.
I can read the information on the main web page pertaining to items I need to purchase, etc., with no problems.
I click and maneuver from on one tab to another from the main page within this website with no issues.
When I click on the "SHOP section(tab)" within this website to complete my purchase.
Part of this website an error occurs on this "SHOP tab".
"Safari can't connect to the server".
Safari can't open the page "https://and the name of this website" because Safari can't connect to the server "www.the name of this website".
I click on the reload from the view of the toolbar and I can't access this website's"Shop section(tab) at all.
I e-mailed the webmaster of this website a few times, but no response.
In the past I was able to access the "Shop section(tab") within this website many times to purchase items with no issues.
Now I am at my wits end as I really need to complete my purchase from this website.
I cannot purchase these items from other websites. Only this website.
So, I really need anyone's tech expertise to help me access the "SHOP" tab within this website.
I also have another website that i have visited numerous times within the last 6 months with no issues.

Man that is an ancient message.
The last time I saw that was using Mac clients connected to a Microsoft (Windows) Server running 'Services for Macintosh' which included the ability to act as an AppleShare compatible file server. Because Microsoft have a different security system for defining accounts which includes the 'domain' as well as username, the standard Mac AFP client did not know how to send that information.
Therefore Apple made it possible to installed a plugin in the form of a UAM or User Authentication Mechanism which added the ability to send this information to login to the fileserver.

However Microsoft have long discontinued 'Services for Macintosh' and now the only way for a Mac to connect to a standard Windows Server is via SMB not AFP. I don't believe this plugin is available to download anymore.

Site list update not working with TED and Zenworks for Servers

Subject: Site list update not working with TED and Zenworks for Servers ,
all on Linux
Description: We have an exiting environment with 6 ZfS Servers and now we
brought up a new Server for another location. I configured all same as on
the other Server and the new one created all NAL-Apps at the new location.
But in the Application Site list on the golden App is this Application
missing. So I clicked on the Link up site list on the Distribution Screen
in C1. On ApplicationSite list the App from the new location is missing.
So I removed all and added the new from the new location and now i see all
in the application site list.When I install an app on the client on the
new location NAL is connecting alway th the same (wrong location-server
and i get an msi error 1612 or id=53272 with path=\Wrong serverpath to
file.
I looked on the other tab on C1 at the golden app an I see the backlinks
are going to all other servers without the new one. Software installation
on other locations are ok

I forgot to mention that you can also set the loging level on the Distributor and the Subscriber to 6. to do this at the Zenworks Server Management prompt type "setconsolelevel 6" if you want to capture this to the log file ted.log then use "setfilelevel 6"
Next delete the Distribution from the Subscriber and then re-push the channel.
What we are looking for here in the log is the creation of the object and the linking information about the gold object. it should look like this (not the failure part ;-))) )

You can check this both ways in the Golden App and in the Distributed Application.

I cannot access the settings tab in the management console

I am in the management console for my verizon d-link router and i cannot access the settings tab..
i got to the router/verizon management console via the default gateway ip address and used the default password which worked and then tried to access settings which im assuming is the same default password.. however when i try to use the default password on the settings tab when im prompted it says that it is wrong.
is there some different password for the settings tab?

Have you tried to go here and select your Gateway, then follow the trouble shooting tips. Most gateways/routers default passwords at one point were changed to the serial number for security reasons. If that does not work, you may try resetting the gateway/router to get back to the default. Never leave your gateway/router with the default passwords. If you get into the gateway/router a Verizon firmware upgrade if it is a Verizon model, may even change the default password to the serial number so it is not the standard D-Link that is used with all their gateways.

Giving access to 'Authentication' tab in CMC

Hi,
We have a user admin role in BO project which has access to only Users and groups section in CMC. We need to give access to Authentication tab in CMC for this group.
The reason behind this is - we have a user role imported from SAP BW to BO. Whenever a new user is assigned to this user its not getting automatically visible in CMC user list. We need to go to 'Roles import' tab and click update always. We have checked the 'Force User Syn' and 'Automatically Import users' checkboxes. Once the user is imported we have to assign it to one group in BO to complete the user creation in BO.
Please let us know if there is anyway we can give access to 'Authentication' tab alone in BO for a user / group

or you could simplify it and create those kind of roles already on the SAP side.

In my opinion - if you have to go down to a user level as part of the role assignments or as part of the rights assignment you are complicating the administration view unnecessary

Can't activate direct data access for VProvider

I try to activate direct data access for BC VirtualProvider 0TR_CM_1. When I open "Activate Direct Access" dialog I don't see any assigned source systems in "Source Syst. for InfoSource 3.x" nor any in "Data Transfer Processes" tabs. Does it mean what non of source systems don't have direct access data sources? Or in other words - why I can't assign any source system for the BC VProvider?

While creating datasource there is an option for direct access.This option shows if the DataSource supports direct access to data.
A RemoteProvider in BI can only get data from a DataSource that supports direct data access.
It is only useful to access data directly if the quantity of data to be extracted can be restricted to a suitable selection.
