I have a laptop which has a datacard on another network cause the area im in doesnt have att coverage for my iphone.
what i would like to know is if its possible to connect my iphone to use my laptops datacard internet through a bluetooth connection so i can use apps that need net
or how to setup a network for it through the usb or would anyone know if my hp mini netbook can make a wifi network or would i need an external router?
also when is apple gonna set up a sever for sending push notifications through internet connection? like when my phone doesnt have coverage but does have wifi connection. or is that in the vpn connection can i set that up to get that?

The answer to your first question is no.
If you have a computer with a wireless/wi-fi card that has an internet connection via Ethernet, you can create an ad-hoc wireless network with the computer turning the computer into a wireless router of sorts sharing the internet via Ethernet with another computer with a wireless card or with the iPhone.
I'm not sure if the same is possible with an internet connection with a data card.
Apple has already set up a server for push notifications for use with a 3rd party app that provides/supports push notification. It is up to the app developer for an app to make use of this via an internet with the cellular network or via wi-fi.

Sorry, iOS will pause the music playback when you are on the phone call. You can set iOS to use bluetooth for your audo playback on your music app, and select the earpods for the phone app, but as soon as you answer the phone call, iOS will pause the music playback. This is a core OS feature, so you will not find any certified iOS app that will do what you want.
As a side note, please use extra caution when using your ear pods while driving. It is not safe as you may not hear emergency vehicles, car horns, railroad crossing bells, etc., and it is illegal in many states (in the US).

Trouble accessing the internet through Wi-Fi.

Essentially, my house has a wireless network that works just fine for the computer that uses it. I went into settings and connected to the wireless network in question and tried to use Safari on my iPod, but continuously get the message "Safari can't open the page because it could not connect to the server.". I checked my router and it does in fact see the iPod, but my iPod simply can't get on the internet.
I've tried turning the Wi-fi off for a while then back on, and when I do the wireless network is seen, but without the little lock symbol beside it in settings, then when I try to use Safari again the lock symbol comes back (I don't know if this is significant).
We've got WEP security on the network and the password -was- entered. For all intents and purposes the iPod should be able to access the internet. It's been assigned an IP address and, again, the router sees it.
I'm pretty much stumped, and since this iPod was a random draw gift at my graduation I don't have the receipt, and am currently unable to talk to Customer Service.
Any ideas?

I am having that same problem. Used to connect up with my home's wireles network (Linksys wireless cable router, Toshiba cable modem). The lapotops are working wiressles, but the Touch doesn't seem to be able to connect either to my wireless network or to a neighbor''s unsecured network that I used to be able to log onto.
I did travel and used the Touch to connect to other wireless networks. Since returning, nothing. I have reset all settings, reset network settings, restored to factory settings... nothing seems to help, still hangs up on the "Choose a network". I was hoping that restoring to the factory settings would work... it even prompted me for the WEP key, but still just hung there.
Thoughts? Do I need to go to the Apple STore?

The ability for users to restrict an app's ability to access the Internet is a decision left to the app's developer. Presumably, if an app requires an Internet connection to function that choice would not be a logical one to implement. On the other hand if the app developer decides an Internet connection is optional, the choice is easily implemented in Settings.
In the case of free games such as Subway Surfers, nearly all of them rely upon in-app purchases to generate the revenue required for their development and support. In such cases the developer will not be interested in limiting that revenue source. Users with no money to spend do not comprise a successful business plan.

Mavericks Bluetooth unable to connect to Internet through Bluetooth pan

Im trying to connect my MacBookPro running Mavericks to the Internet through a personal hotspot on my iPhone. This works fine with my wife's MBP running Mountain Lion, but I can't get a connection to the Internet. Diagnostics shows that I have a good connection to the phone and ISP, but Internet and server are red.

If you have access to wifi router you may check its log and see what does it say...
Try set the router for no hidden and no password wifi and try to connect. If you iPad can connect then add password to wifi settings on the router and try to connect again... etc...

Providing internet through router and still keep IP

I have a problem with my knowledge about this not being enough
The situation is this.
I have two computers connected to the internet via a Linksys WRT59GX v.2. The internet is with a non static IP, so i have the computers on automaticly optaining IP and router on DHCP.
From here i have two problems. One being is that without static IP's on the computers, i am having trouble getting the ethernet to work between the two computers, while still on the internet.
The other problem is that i want to get my FTP (from when i had static IP internet provider) up and running again, and for that i need a static IP correct?
Is there some way that i can get the router to connect to the internet (there is no logon procedure), and then share it between the computers, and have them have static IP's? And with that configuration, would it be possible to have an FTP running from behind the router?

Let's verify a few things here. You connect your modem to the internet port of the router. That moment your router is the device that connects to the internet. The router must be setup to use DHCP to get an IP address from your ISP.
Once you have the router connected this way it has nothing to do with your computer anymore or that IP address it has. The router creates a new private network on the LAN side. This private IP address range is 192.168.1.1-255. You do not log into the internet with your computer or ethernet card anymore. You simply set up a local ethernet connection. That's all. In most cases it is enough to simply plug in the cable and that's it. You do not log into your ISP from your computer anymore. If it is setup to dial automatically, you must disable that. The internet connection is always there as the router handles that now.
Again: the automatic IP address setting of your computer has a different "meaning" once you are connected to your router as it is now about your private LAN and not the internet anymore.
I suggest you configure static IP addresses as I suggested before. Also check the router's status page to see if it has an internet connection.
And: you can run a FTP server with static IP, however you must change the port forwarding in your router each time the computer gets a different IP address.

HT1430 I drive a 2011 Ford Escape with sync technology. My iphone 4 on the osi 6 would connect through bluetooth and allow me the handsfree access on the steering wheel to run my music. It won't let me change with osi 7

I cannot figure out why the new upgrade osi 7 will not allow me to use the bluetooth control in my 2011 ford escape to be able to change the song on the steering wheel like I could with osi 6. It's making me log into my phone to be able to change it and I don't text and drive so this is defeating the whole purpose of hands free.
