Access mobileme account + emails on my mac/me accounts.

I am unable to access either my mobileme account - via the system preferences or mail nor can I send or receive emails via .mac or .me email accounts. Something happened to my password and unfortunately I cannot retrieve through keychain - the password stored there is not working. I am seriously concerned re the security of my account. Cannot stress how much time I have wasted trying to get help from Apple!

MobileMe closed over a year ago, after numerous warning emails and online notices. Did you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before the end of August last year? If you did not, you can probably still use your address (which is an Apple ID) to open an iCloud account (Lion, Mountain Lion or iOS 5/6 required) but your emails previously stored on MobileMe have long since been deleted and are not recoverable by any means.
If you did migrate to iCloud your first step would be to go to System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud and sign out, then sign back in again, chacking Mail in the checklist there.
If that doesn't work, go to http://appleid.apple.com , sign in anc change your password. You will then need to sign out of iCloud again and sign back in with the new password.

  • Problems adding a new email address to .mac mail account

I'm trying to set up a second email address on my new .mac mail account and I'm stuck. What would be the account description/type/ingoing server/outgoing server for a new account. I've read the directions on mail help to no avail. Also, suddenly my "saved email" option on the left vertical bar is gone. I assume it's because the box got too full (i really liked it . Does anyone know how to access/empty/make it reappear as a mail function ?
    Thanks for your time.

Yes, I am a new .mac subscriber. I have a main mac address: [email protected] and then have my old aol address ( [email protected]) mail 'shunted ?' into my new mac address.
My partner now needs an email address for his own online banking account. I'm looking for the easiest way to do this under my mac account.
Saved email folder was an option on the vertical pane under "Inbox" "Sent Mail" "Junk Mail." I used it to store important incoming emails.
Thanks so much for your time,

  • How do I set up an alias email with Mac Mail, so that my alias shows up when I send email from my Mac Mail account?

I am have an email forwarding service, not an email account, which I want to set up as an alias for Mac Mail so that my email appears in the "from" address when I send messages from Mac Mail. I'm having trouble figuring out what I need to do to set up this configuration. Thanks so much for your help!

There are a couple of ways of doing this. The easiest is probably to just add the secondary address in the Mail.app -> Preferences -> Accounts field.
The specifics of which vary a little based on the OS/Mail.app version you're running, but in Yosemite:
    Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts
Select your iCloud account and change the 'Alias' popup menu from your iCloud address to 'custom'.
Doing this enables the 'Email Address' field. In this field you can enter the email address you want to appear in your From header.
If you want to use multiple addresses (e.g. your iCloud address and your other alias), you can enter a comma-separated list of addresses - e.g. '[email protected], [email protected]' and then you'll have a pop-up menu on each new message where you can choose the address to use for each outgoing message. You can also set the default address in Preferences -> Composing -> Send new messages from:

  • I need to verify my new account through the new email I set up in iCloud   I can't access my new email until I verify my account

I'm trying to set up iCloud on my old 4s for my mother. I created a new account for her through my iPhone 5 iCloud account
I have verified her rescue email address but am told via the phone that I still need to verify the actual account that I created for her.
The problem is that I can't access the email through iCloud to be able to verify the account. I'm stuck in a perpetual catch 22.
No access until I verify. No verifying until I access. Help!!

Have you forgotten your password? - if so, you have a problem if the email address has gone dead.
If you know your password, go to the iTunes Store, click on Account. log in and you can change the associated email address.
If you don't know your password, and have no email address, you are going to have problems because it's difficult to see how Apple are going to identify you as the authorised owner of the account. Contact iTunes Support: go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them.

  • Accessing MobileMe (not email, from the browser) on Blackberry Curve

I wanted to access my .me account from my blackberry (the web page, not the email), and I got to the login page, and after entering my info and pressing login, nothing happened.  I scrolled down and found the info about not working well with IE, etc., so guess the browser is an issue?
Does anyone else access their .me account on a blackberry?  If so, how do you do it?
    Thanks in advance!

Well, the good news is I have the URL correct.
But regardless of whether I use http://icloud.com or http://mail.icloud.com, I still get prompted with a dialog box which says the following:
"Setup iCloud on a device to use iCloud.com"
If I click "Close" I end up back up at the sign in screen and have to enter my username/password again.
If I click "Learn More", my only other choice, I end up on some sort of help page that tells me how to set up iCloud on this device.  Which is precisely what I don't want to do.  I just want to access a webmail page like, for example, gmail.
I don't see any "Mail" icon there.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Can't add email to my mac mail account.

I recently started having problems with my mail account.  I deleted the mail folder and started over and now can no longer add any email accounts besides my icloud account.  When I try I get the following message.
Logging in to the optonline.net POP server “mail.optonline.net” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages.
My mail accounts still work on my ipad and iphone with the exact same information.  Something else I find strange, when I go to add a new account my old deleted account already appears in the email address section.  Why would a deleted account, presumably one it should n't know anymore come up as a suggestion without me adding it?  Does mail keep a copy of the account hidden somewhere else besides the plist and in the hidden library?
I am at wits end.  I can think of any reason that I shouldn't be able to add the email when all the information is correct.  I have also checked my computer for viruses and malware with several programs, the latest one being SOPHOS.  Any suggestions?

Don't know what any of this means:

  • How to delete an AppleID without knowing the password or having access to the email associated to the AppleID account.

My old AppleID is associated with an email that I no longer have access to and I have forgotten my AppleID password. I have a new AppleID but when I purchased my new iPhone it automatically put my old AppleID in for the iCloud. I have been trying to delete this old AppleID from the iCloud on my phone but you need a password to do so. Is there any other way to do this? Please help, I'm stuck. I've already tried to wipe the phone and it keeps grabbing the old AppleID even though my computer is linked to my new AppleID.

Go to iforgot.apple.com and reset your password.

  • HT1277 I've started receiving a mass amount of spam emails in my .mac / .me account.  This is the first time I've noticed this problem.  Can I change a setting to stop getting 30 emails / day?

Is there a setting I can select to stop the mass amounts of emails coming in
    Don

Hi Don, you can change your .mac/.me password for safety, but that isn't likely the problem.
There's no real way to stop it, you can train Mail to learn what is Junk/spam though it takes a bit.
    Might try reporting the spam...

  • Cant recive emails from my Mac Mail?

    Hello
I'm having a problem receiving emails from my mac mail account. have all the correct details and no fire wall blocking my connection to the inter net.
However I go to mac Mail and click get mail were there is a timer and after about five Min's of churning around a strange *Warning icon* appears at the side of my mac mail in box, and eventually a warning pops up
Saying *(Same actions taken the account "MacMail was offline could not be completed Online.*
*Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "On My Mac" in "on My Mac" so that can somplete the actions while online.*
*Additional Information: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 993 timed out.)*
(I have my gmail accounts as well and they seem to be working okay)
    Any help would be great.

    Hi Simon:
Open Mail. Highlight the mailbox(s) you wish to rebuild. Click on Mailbox from the menu bar. Click rebuild. That process takes a few minutes, normally. Frankly, I am not sure what it does, but it does "fix" problems on occasion. The mailbox "help" has a bit more information.

  • Sub-Account Email not working

Although I've successfully created sub-accounts in the past, this weekend I created a new sub-account but the associated email does not seem to be working properly. I can log onto the the account and access the web email for this new sub-account. However, there is only the introductory "Congratulations on your new account" email from verizon in the inbox. I do not receive any other new emails even though I have sent several from various different addresses. I was able to successfully send emails from the new account (although as of this morning that does not seem to be working either).
I have not set up any block senders, there is nothing in the Spam folder. I tried creating another sub-account with the same results. I'm still under my sub-account limit so should be fine there.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Larry

    Grazie
    Giovanni
Hi to everyone I'm trying to synchronize two new email accounts created on mac with iphone 5 and also the iPad but with the new itunes is missing this chance?
Do you have a solution or an alternative is to recreate the email accounts from new devices?
    thanks

iTunes doesn't sync that information. You would have to use Documents & Data in iCloud.

  • Mail "read" in one account marks identical mail in another account as "read" also

    Yosemite 10.10.1, iMac
I just upgraded to Yosemite and now when I read an email in my Mac Mail account, the identical email in another totally separate Mac Mail account automatically gets "marked as read". This is such an enormous problem that I hope there is a team working on it 24/7 until it's fixed. At the very least someone from Apple should weigh in here and give an update on a fix in progress or at least acknowledge that the problem is more than just an oversight on the user's part, if that is the case.
Apple (or anyone), please please assist me in solving this problem so I don't have a Mac Mail client that sabotages communication.
    Thank you, Peter

    Hi Sergey,
    Thanks for the reply.
Both I and my wife have separate accounts with different names, set up in the Mac Mail client through one computer. (Both mail accounts are with Comcast.) As an example of the problem, our children's school will often "CC" the same identical email out to all parents, my wife and I included. When I click on the email and it opens, the email count (number) next to my account name drops by one and the email is now marked "As Read". That's fine. BUT at the same time that I do this (click on the email in my account to open it), I see my wife's email count drop by one also, and when I open her account mailbox, sure enough the identical email is unbolded (i.e. marked "As Read"), but it has not been opened directly.
I've done a Google search and can see that others have this problem; but nobody has posted a fix. It's a debilitating problem if you receive lots of indexical emails, which we do.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks, Peter
