Access movies in other lanugages

Hey All:
How can I access the German movie data base on my computer, and iTV? I cannot seem to figure it out. Do I just need to set up a new iTunes account for use in Germany, and have the other one for use here in the States?

Thanks - I didn't realize that. I'm also embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to transfer the audio files from my iPod to the iTunes library on my computer. When I select a book from the list on the iPod, the only option I see with the right-facing arrow symbol is "Show in iTunes Store ". I back the iPod up to this computer so I guess those files must be on it somewhere, but all I can recognize in the iTunes folder under " Music" are the music files found in the "iTunes Music" folder. (There are also a ton of files named "iTunes Temp (some #).) The Books list on the computer shows some but not all of the audiobooks - I purchased the rest on a different computer that is now unfortunately dead. I'm guessing now that those didn't transfer over when the new computer was populated from the old one, so the iPod may be the only place where those audiobooks now reside. I hope that made some sense- any additional advice would be appreciated.

i just purchased a file that had videos in it. i put them in the itunes library on my pc where i first downloaded them. i was able to transfer them to my other pc, a laptop, through my home network. i am now trying to get them on my mac pro desktop and my ipad2. my mac pro can see the other computers on my home network but i cannot get it to connect to them. i know the operating systems are different but was hoping i could transfer pictures and files from pc to mac this way. haven't been able to get it to work yet. the videos i am trying to get my mac to see came in a folder with both mac and pc versions. i thought if i got the videos i purchased into itunes that i would then be able to get them to my mac pro and my ipad2. i am new to mac/apple and have always been pc-centric so trying to marry it all has been difficult. i speak pc pretty well but am just learning apple. am i trying to do things that are not possible? i sure could use a knowledgable friendly soul to walk me through my issues of having pc and mac on the same network. i have been able to get all computers and ipad to print on my network. thanks.

Mov is a container format, you'd need to look at the codec used by the movie file inside the container to know whether it will work with the Apple TV or not.

How to access code in other projects?

Hi all,
I ran into an issue in FlexBuilder I'm not sure how to resolve, hopefully someone here can help. I have several projects in my workspace right now I'll call them project A and B. I have one project in particular, call that project C, that needs access to code contained in a couple of other projects, A and B. I don't want to copy all those files from the other projects into this one cause there's a lot of files, it's tedious, and unmaintainable. I don't want to make all those files into a flex library either cause it's not really necessary.
I tried adding the folders in project A and B into the source path of project C but when I tried to import those files it did not work. So does anyone know of a way that I can access code from other projects in the same workspace? If you could provide an example also that would be greatly appreciated.

Additional info: The code complete for the import actually shows me the files in the source path are available. In fact, when I hit F3 it points me to the proper file in the other project. However, FlexBuilder keeps telling me the type was not found or it isn't a compile time constant.

No, ActionScript is not purely OOP, but what is? The only language I know of that is considered "a pure OOP language" is Java. Does that make other languages less good? Definitely not. Just because AS 3.0 does not support overloading it does not mean that OOP principles can't be applied and nor does it mean that it's not a valid OOP language.

Well, sice I don't know ehwhoknows and I have no idea how new he is ( he may be new to Flex but that doesn't mean that he is new to programming ), I took "the risk" to add an additional opinion to his post saying that "sure what ntsiii said is totally cool but in the future, you might want to read up on OOP and design patterns because they offer much more than mixing projects in a barbaric manner".
Obviously, if he is new to programming ( a detail that I don't see being mentioned in his post ) then he should stick to the simple things, but does that mean that we can't point out other solutions that may be more complex and harder to understand for a newbie at the moment. Everything has it's time, but without telling him that "hey, solution A si ok, but solution B would be much better on the long run" then how do you expect him to find out about solution B? By accident?
I wasn't trying to prove anyone wrong, all that I wanted to point out is that there are other solutions out there too that offer much more on the long run. If he can't handle OOP at the moment, no problem, but at least give him the chance to try it out.
@ ATIF FAROOQ: I totally agree that it would be nice if the guys at Adobe would implement overloading and not only, abstract classes would be nice too ( and I mean "real abstract classes" like in Java, not workarounds ).
@ Muzak: Totally agree, I said to use a Library mainly because that's what I use most ( beside simply pasting classes from a project into another; I do this occasionally and sometimes when I'm lazy ). In either case, the final goal is achieved: reusability.

I know of no way to "tell" the Apple TV to look for anything. It is pre-programmed to look for iTunes, iPhoto, etc.

There are innumerable things AppleTV could do, there are many I wish it did, there are others I hope it never will.
The problem with Apple is they do things their way like it or lump it.
Direct playback from a NAS would be great I agree, but their model revolves around iTunes purchases and rentals and no NAS can handle authorisation of protected content like iTunes (so maybe AppleTV should!).
There are too many country specific thinsg like Hulu, iplayer in Uk but to compete they probably need to look at things that are standard on modern 'smart tv's'. You can get many local content options using Airplay on iOS devices but it's an expensive and in my view immature technology with content provider limitations in many cases (eg no Airplay or audio only).
I do find it bizarre that we get US Sports channel content, WSJ etc outside of the US which really clutters the interface with things you don't want - I can disable Vimeo, YouTube and globally available things but not US centric stuff!!!!!

I'm not sure that I will ever understand why anyone who is not intimately familiar with the internal workings of iSync would ever want to do this - just to be able to see a more desirable icon appear - but, that said, here is how to do it:
Rename a copy of your tiff file: SET610.tiff
First, make a copy of iSync. No, really. [The process of reinstalling and updating iSync 2 is rather painful.]
Control-click on iSync and select Show Package Contents, then navigate this path…
