Access music on your Ipod

As far as I understood now.....you have to drag your albums from your Itunes library to your Ipod on your left side (Ipod icon in Itunes). This way you can play it on the Ipod later on. However....Itunes is messing everything up completely. Gives an album for every new song etc. Its a chaos. Anyway, I'll sort that out later.
First more important is...how can you modify songs (artist and album tittle) once you have moved them to your Ipod. For now I see that he stores the songs in different folders, while that should really not be needed. How can I modify the folder so that I can keep all the songs in the album it belongs, instead of different folders.
Second...how can I change the order of the songs on my IPod. Im a great lover of progressive rock and due the duration of songs, bands tend to chop up the song in specific parts so that its easier to skip to a certain part. However this results in messing up the right order on the Ipod. You can imagine that playing something as Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall not in the right order is not a plesant listening experience. How can I set this right ?
Third..how can I delete songs on my Ipod ? Can this only done by Itunes or also on the Ipod directly.
Fourth...where can I see what is actually on my Ipod ? I have the feeling that I have moved much more than eventually ends on my Ipod.
On my Pc it took me ages to get this done (I have about 600G of music) and with large storage.....in order to find something back...its extremely crucial to organize everything in a proper way...Else you can never find it back....what is about the most irritating thing you can have as a music lover.
So assistance, tricks and tips from experienced users is greatly apreciated.

I second the whole iTunes folder approach.
If for some reason you have split the media folder from the library files then the media folder needs to restored to the same path it used to have while the library files can be copied into the music folder of your new profile.
If in dobut, backup up the entire Documents and Settings folder before wiping the infected drive, but be selective about what you restore as many viruses drop active components capable of reinfecting the compuer in the temp folders and internet caches. It is much easier to backup more than you need than to discover after the fact that you no longer have access to some vital project you'd been storing in a folder on the desktop.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. the only exception is ituens purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

You cannot put music onto your iPod without using iTunes, that what iTunes is for.
It's also not a good idea to wipe the music from your computer and having it only on your iPod. We see countless posts here from people who have done just that - and then lost everything when the iPod needs a Restore. Even if you never need to Restore your iPod, what happens when you eventually replace the iPod? You'll be back here asking how to get the music from one iPod to another. That's not easy to do, we see countless posts about that too!
A much better idea is to buy an external drive (a proper external drive, not simply an iPod) and put your large amount of music onto that drive. Then point your iTunes Library to that drive. However, you need to remember two things:
You still need a backup of that Library.
Using an external drive as your iTunes Library means that the drive must be connected and ready to read before starting your iTunes programme. If it isn't, then iTunes will look on the C: drive - and you will find no music in your Library. (Once again, lots of posts about that as well!)

You can only transfer purchased music from your iPod to iTunes using iTunes. However there are third party utilities that you can use to retrieve your music, just do a google search or have a look on http://www.versiontracker.com

There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

I gave my grandpa an ipod shuffle for his birthday and we got all the songs that are now on his ipod are from my itunes account.

Hey,
I am trying to transfer some music files from my iPod on to my hard drive. I have tried dragging them on to the hard drive and I went through all the options and configurations and yet I can't seem to figure it out.
Can someone please help me out and tell me how to get music from my iPod on to my computer hard drive?

You cant drag your music from your ipod to your computer, you have to use a third-party program to do it. There are many you can use, so try searching it on google. Some i can rememeber are yamipod, and copyipod.
