Access_PIDEV log file has not entries during DEV hang

Hi.
Could you help me, please ?
During a DEV instance hang, the application did not register entries in Access_PIDEV log file. The serviceout file has some entries, but it does not indicate any problem, although the CMA application was not running (it runs over DEV instance). This forced me to restart the DEV instance in order to recover the DEV and CMA service.
Do you know anything else that I could see ?.
Thanks in advance,
DEF

A colleague's PC has a log file on the desktop, created 28th October. Its title: 'hs_err_pid3268.log'
Initially we were both concerned since Kaspersky had detected some viruses on his machine on it's nightly scan, however, looking at the log file I'm not sure whether to be worried or not! - It looks legitimate, if a bit odd...
If somebody more knowledgeable could tell me firstly if it's anything sinister and secondly (if not) what may have cause it and whether it's an issue I should investigate on this machine.
Thanks in advance, below is the contents of the text file. (As you can see I'm brand new to these forums, apologies if this is not the correct section for these kind of questions). It is a crash file from the Sun/Oracle VM.
It either got on the desktop because a user manually moved it there or because something is probably misconfigured (at least to me) in the environment.
If you are creating java applications (programming in the java language) then you would need to figure out why the app crashed.
If you are using java applications then you need to tell the vendor that it crashed. And you would not do that here.

    Hi
I am setting up a ADS server. (NW2004s)
When I test using FP_PDF_TEST_00, it returns me the version information
    (Version Information: 705.20051005114147.242570)
But when I test <b>FP_TEST_00</b>. I get the error
The render log file has been written to <Drive>:\u(200101)
Now in the server I went to <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\AdobeDocumentServices\renderErrorLog\errorFiles
I check the error file ithas the message <b>No Error Reported</b>
If there are no errors, then why is the program FP_TEST_00 is not displaying the result in pdf format?
    Thanks for your help

  • HELP - Receiving error message "The file has not been processed. An error has occurred which stopped the processing of the PDF"

Have been using Adobe CreatePDF for many months successfully.
Only recently over the past few days I have been experiencing errors for periods between 3-5 hours on every attempt to convert/combine files. The error reads: "The file has not been processed. An error has occurred which stopped the processing of the PDF"
It will stay like this and no amount of refreshing the cache, logging in and out will help. I'm running Firefox 34.0.5, windows 7 64bit. Only solution I've found is to wait until the next day and it seems to be working again. Only explanation i can think of is some unexplained maintenance adobe is running behind the scenes because I'm often working late between 12am - 4am.
When this problem happens, no file types will convert/combine I've tested JPEG, PDF and word docs to PDF.
I log in and out of my account, I've cleared my cache, I'm using Firefox 34.0.5 which has always worked in the past I just don't understand how this error is happening for such long periods. Starting to reconsider this product when there are free alternatives to simply combine my PDF docs! please help.
    Tom.

I am still experiencing this problem. Customer service from Adobe has been abysmal!
I called Adobe tech support at 2am Australian time ( >1 weeks ago) and got onto a help centre in India. I was walked through all the troubleshooting steps and they remotely accessed my PC and confirmed that It was not my PC that was at fault. They reset my password and dialed into my adobe account from their end to attempt a simple conversion and export to PDF which failed. I was told that this problem is not something they can fix, and is a result of something on the back end of their software.
They advised me that the problem would be passed to a fixed within 12 hours and they would call and email me to confirm everything was OK. I gave my phone number with (area and country code) my email but have not had any communication back.
I am extremely dissatisfied, and just want this software to function. Is that too much to ask?
Note: This problem is happening always now, regardless of time being used.

    Hello Experts,
    I have successfully installed a ECC 6.0 System-ABAP + JAVA (DB2 v9.5 windows server 2008-x64 bit).

However now i suddenly cannot connect to database and SAP is down.

    Also, regarding DB2 licensing,i have a query:
    db2licm -l gives the following:
    C:\Users\db2dsq.DUCATI>db2licm -l
Product name:                     "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition"
    License type:                     "CPU Option"

I have applied both sap and DB2 license. Is everything ok regarding licensing of DB v9.5 for using with SAP?
I am new to DB2 database and looking for expert guidance regarding the above mentioned issues.

  • Merge in no logging mode has not been implemented

    Hi,
I've tried to run a merge query and got the following exception:
TT0805: Merge in no logging mode has not been implemented -- file "comp.c", lineno 2999, procedure "sbCompCacheAllMD()"
Can I change the logging mode so the merge will be supported?
    Thanks!

You get this error because you are running in 'No logging' mode (Logging=0). MERGE is only supported with Loggign=1 (disk based logging). In fact, the great majority of TimesTen features are only supported with Logging=1. No logging mode is a 'special usage' mode and has many, many limitations. You should think very carefulyl before using it and it should not be used as a matter of routine. Is there some reason why you need to use Logging=0?

  • Log files are not purged

    Hi All,
I have a TT data store, with setting LogPurge=1. There are lots of transactions manipulating the data store. If I'm correct, the log files, that are older then the older checkpoint file are to be deleted automatically by TT, if there are no operations holding them. In my case the log files are not being deleted, so an ls -ltr command prints:

As you can see, I have 67 older log files than the older checkpoint file. Now if I enter the DS in ttIsql, and call ttLogHolds I get:
    Command> call ttLogHolds();
    < 0, 38034792, Replication , APPDBTT:_ORACLE >
    < 67, 44319520, Checkpoint , appdbtt.ds0 >
    < 88, 45855168, Checkpoint , appdbtt.ds1 >
    3 rows found.
    What can be the problem?
    Thanks in advance:
    Dave

    This bookmark
    < 0, 38034792, Replication , APPDBTT:_ORACLE >
indicates that the AWT bookmark hasn't moved from log file 0. Since AWT is performed by the replication agent, it maintains a bookmark to track where its reached in reading through the transaction log files looking for transactions against any AWT cachegroups. This looks as though somehow a transaction against an AWT cachegroup has not been commited, meaning that it cannot be sent to Oracle, acknowledged and the bookmark moved on. Once the bookmark moves into a new transaction log file, all old log files can then be purged.
You might be able to identify any uncommited transaction by using ttXactAdmin and checking for locks held against AWT cachegroups.

  • Appended log files are not well formed XML?

I'm working on a retrofit of our home grown logging class to use the new java.util.logging classes. It works beautifully with one exception. If I need to instantiate the logger in the same day, appending to an existing log file, I get a second (or third, or fourth) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?><!DOCTYPE log SYSTEM "logger.dtd"> tag inserted at the beginning of the new log entries. This causes the log file to not be well formed and therefore cannot be parsed.
I've looked and looked, but can't find a method to suppress these extra tags. Anybody know a way? We want to use this on a development server that will be restarted several times a day. If I don't append, it wipes out my previous logs for the day.

You'll have to do something to prevent your logger from appending to old logs that have been closed. Sorry if that is not very helpful, but I'm not familiar with the logging features in SDK 1.4. For your interest, though, Log4J (which you can get from Apache) also features XML logging, and it solved that rather obvious problem thus:
"The output of the XMLLayout consists of a series of log4j:event elements as defined in the log4j.dtd. It does not output a complete well-formed XML file. The output is designed to be included as an external entity in a separate file to form a correct XML file."
In other words, you would have to wrap the output in an XML header and a root node to be able to use it, which is not difficult to do.

  • I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied.

I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied. However I have received all archive log files to my physical Standby db
I have created a Physical Standby database on Oracle 10gR2 (Windows XP professional). Primary database is on another computer.
In Enterprise Manager on Primary database it looks ok. I get the following message “Data Guard status Normal”
But as I wrote above ”the archive log files are not applied”
After I created the Physical Standby database, I have also done:
    1. I connected to the Physical Standby database instance.
    CONNECT SYS/SYS@luda AS SYSDBA
    2. I started the Oracle instance at the Physical Standby database without mounting the database.
    STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initluda.ora
    3. I mounted the Physical Standby database:
    ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE
    4. I started redo apply on Physical Standby database
alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session
    5. I switched the log files on Physical Standby database
    alter system switch logfile
    6. I verified the redo data was received and archived on Physical Standby database

    Please help me!!!!

    Hi,
After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
    DGMGRL> show configuration
    Configuration
    Name: avhtest
    Enabled: YES
    Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
    Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
    Databases:
    avhtest - Primary database
    avhtestls53 - Physical standby database
    Current status for "avhtest":
Warning: ORA-16610: command 'ENABLE CONFIGURATION' in progress
It there anybody that experienced the same problem and/or knows the solution to this?
    With kind regards,
    Martin Schaap

  • Data Guard.

  • Redo log files are not applied in DR of primary

    Hi All,
I have a DR database of primary on QA Serevr. The Redo log files are not properly applied in the DR database.
The Oracle version is 11.2.0.1 Some of the files get shipped and applied to DR database automatically but not all.
SQL> select status, error from v$archive_dest where dest_id=2; gives following massage
ERROR     ORA-16086: Redo data cannot be written to the standby redo log
    Please suggest.

  • DNS: The selected log file does not exist

    Hi to all,
I am using Lion Server on a Mac Mini and everything seems to work fine. However, when I want to check my DNS log file (Server Admin > DNS > Log) I get a message that "The selected log file does not exist"! Stopping and starting the DNS service doesn't help. Anyone any idee how to view the log file within the Server Admin app?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ewald.

    hi John!
if you have time, patience, and squared balls (just for laugh! ):
Use "strace" to trace all system calls a binary make... System calls like "open" file and "close" file =)
That's say, we are going to "trace the files opened by specific application".
"Strace" in MacOSX comes with Developer Tools, so you'll need to install these to continue.
First you have to know which are the Applications in the game, because "Server Admin" is a client-server application, there will be a client application in the client machine, and a server application running in the server.
You have to trace the server application running in the server. It will be the one which opens the log file, and sends the data to the client application.
I've made some previous investigation about the Server Admin Log parser (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3352647?start=0&tstart=0).
Also will be helpfull to read a little bit about strace ( http://linux.die.net/man/1/strace )
Here i do my bet, maybe that command line is what you look for:
    #sudo strace launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist | grep "open"
    sudo: do as super user
    strace: trace the binary
    launchctl: system service
load -w file: load, as defined in this file
    | grep open: and substract just the "open file" traces
Let me know if that gives you more clues!
    regards, T

  • Excel cannot open the file beacuse the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file [help]

    Hi,
I have a excel file that I have been using since beginning of year.
Yesterday, I tried to open it but a message comes out "
Excel cannot open the file beacuse the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file"
After I click yes, the page is blank. The file is about 400kb in size.
I have try open and repair and third party repair program and not working also.
I would appreciate a lot if you can help me.
    Thank you very much.

Per your post, this problem might be caused by malware on the affected machine.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2013/09/07/quot-cannot-open-the-file-because-the-file-format-or-extension-is-invalid-quot-opening-office-files.aspx
In order to clean your machine, run Microsoft Safety Scanner (http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx) to kill the malware, and then repair Excel file itself.
If this is not the case, feel free to post back and let me know. Thanks.
