Access report to PDF
I am using Access 2007 and would like to mail a report using the email option from the home menu but get the followingmesage:
Microsoft Office Access can't save the output data to the file you've selected.
*The file may be open, if so close it, and then save the output data to the file again.
*if you are usinh a template, check to make sure the template exists.
*if the file isn't open, check to make sure that you have enough free disk space.
*Make sure that the file exists on the path specified.
*Check to make sure you have permission to write to the specifice folder.
Thank you
Thank you for your reply,
The issue at hand is that users are used to have the option to create and send PDF file in one way that no longer works. Some users have difficulty to cope with changes.
Attaching PDF to email works but not the way users ate used to and add to that the fact that an access data base uses the none working function.
Thank you

Microsoft Access report to pdf-hyperlinks don't work
Hi,
Does anyone have a solution to hyperlinks not working when a Microsoft Access report is converted to a pdf? The hyperlinks work when I am in the Access report, but once I convert to a pdf (Acrobat 9), the links don' t work.
Thanks,
JamieHow did you convert? In looking at the PDF Maker options for AA8 in ACCESS 2007, there does not seem to be a link button in the preferences. That may the issue and I do not have a solution for that.

Microsoft Access Reports to PDF - preserving hyperlinks
Can someone help me figure out how to preserve hyperlinks from an Access report? I've built an application that stores project information along with embedded hyperlinks to source files on our shared server. Although I've been successful with preserving links in Word documents when converting to PDF, when I try to print or convert from the Access report, the links are no longer active in the PDF (although they show up as the familiar blue hyperlink text.)
Thanks,
JeffGenerally you would use the create PDF icon (what is called PDF Maker) on the toolbar. You can set the properties in the Acrobat (or Adobe PDF, depending on versions) menu on the Access menu bar. PDF Maker allows for adding links and such to the PDF. If you print to the Adobe PDF printer, you will simply get something that looks identical, but will have no bookmarks, links, or related items. Basically PDF Maker is a preprocessor for the printer that adds PDF Marks that are required for creating the links from ACCESS. Otherwise, the links that you see in the PDF are the best guess of Acrobat or Reader when it sees what appears to be a URL.

Print MS Access report to PDF with digital signatures.
I know it is possible to print a Microsoft Access report to a PDF file. However, we need to be able to add digital signatures to the resulting PDF. Is it possible to predefine the PDF signature fields in the Access database so that when the report is printed to PDF it is ready from employees to sign off on the PDF?
This is doable with the ability to do a security.importfromfile which provides the ability to import a certificate.
This is critical.
Just create the PDF and then open it up in Access. Be sure to have a reference to the Acrobat Type library. -
Access Reports to PDF cause weird grid lines
I have created reports in Access 2010, with no padding and grid lines to be hairline thickness. In Access, when viewing it under report view it looks perfect; however when I export to PDF I always get bold lines in random order and space between the rows.
I have tried to show a picture but it won't allow me.
I appreciate any and all help.
Thanks!Hi,
Do you have some special formatting or date in the report? For example, if you have conditional formatting rules in the report, it might appear some weird grid lines. See the thread :
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d61feb68-b662-4250-86de-5033d9f61b5e/is-there-a-way-to-use-alternate-back-color-and-conditional-formatting-at-the-same-time?forum=accessdev
And we may try some methods to check if they are helpful:
Update the PDF Reader version.
Install Office 2010 latest patches.
Disable Access 2010 add-ins.
Repair Access 2010.
If the issue still exists, please upload the image or a sample of the database through One Drive and share the link to me.

HTML links from Full Check Accessibility report do not open the corresponding PDF links
I regularly generate full Check accessibility reports for the PDF user guides I create in MSWord. However, when I click the links in the HTML file/report generated, they are supposed to link/highlight the corresponding errors in the PDf file. Instead, I get an error message that "There was an error opening this document. Bad parameters."
How can I get the links to work so I know which section in my PDF has the error (inaccessible items).
ThanksI understand you are creating HTML reports and then using them to find errors/view the PDFs.
Is this a new problem or have you always had problems with the links? If it's a new problem, what has changed on your system?
Can you view other PDFs in your browser?
Have you moved any of the files since you created the report -- as you may know the HTML report references a specific lcoation on your hard drive and if you moved the PDF after creating the report, it may not be able to find the file. -
Linking a pdf to an MS Access report.
I am looking for a way to link a pdf file to an MS Access report. I have a table with the pdf file name and the path to the file. It also states the number of pages in the pdf. What I am looking for is a way to link this to a report for viewing and printing. I have used custom tools by pdf-tools which works great, but I am looking for a way to do it with Adobe, since I already own the professional versionsand would not have to pay for the additional license that pdf-tools requires. The vb code would have to have a way to view and print selective pages. I have the report built and it works with the viewer from pdf tools, but want to be able to modify the report to do it with Acrobat pro. Below is the code that I use with pdf tools and again it works great and is real simple to setup and use. Is there any way to replicate this using Adobe Acrobat Pro version 7.
'Code added to print the pdf file.
Dim Viewer As Object
Dim PDFPath As Object
Set Viewer = Controls("PDFViewer1").Object
Set PDFPath = Controls("DocPath")
'Viewer.DPI = 600
Viewer.FitMode = 0 '0=Actual 1=Fit Page, 2=Fit width
Viewer.Open PDFPath.Value
Viewer.Page = pdfPageNumberDo you need to know what the primary key value is before you
do the insert? Do you need to know what it is after? You should let
Access create the value as an AUTONUMBER field, which means that
you would insert all of the fields
except the primary key (ID) field. If you needed the ID
value, you would have to immediately query to get it (select
max(id)...), and probably use cftransaction to ensure that your
insert and select were in the same database transaction, otherwise
on a busy site, you might get the wrong ID value. (SQL Server and
Oracle have better methods for obtaining the last ID values, so
when using Access it is kind of a kludge.)

Option to email a pdf from an access report does not appear.
I upgraded to windows 8, and now the option to email a pdf from an access report does not appear.
Hi anne,
Could you please let me know what Acrobat and OS version are you using.
Does this happen in case of any particular PDF or all PDF files?
Try repairing Acrobat and then again check.
Hope to get your response.

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advanceHi ,
One 'simple' way is by using the DBMS_SCHEDULER db package and the procedure CREATE_JOB(....) using as job_type the value 'EXECUTABLE'...
Read for further info in 'PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference'.
If you have access to OEM ... you can configure this there using wizard.....
Other way is to use the External Procedure call capabiblity of Oracle DB Server...:

ThanksHello Andrea.
I searched through the SAP Notes for the error that you are encountering. There is an SAP Note that exists titled the following:
1332907 - Report being exported to PDF format using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime, errors with the exception: PdfExporter: caught Exception in PDFFormatter.finalizeFormatJob
Since you may not have access to the SAP Notes, I will extract the details that are mentioned in the note here:
=============================================
Symptom
Attempting to export a report to Adobe PDF format using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime results in an exception.
The exception indicates "PdfExporter: caught Exception in PDFFormatter.finalizeFormatJob"
Environment
Windows 2003
Apache Tomcat 5.0
Crystal Reports for Eclipse version 1.x
Reproducing the Issue
Using the Crystal Reports for Eclipse runtime version 1.x attempt to export a report to PDF format that has the "Repeat Group Header on Each Page" option enabled.
Note: This does not occur if this option is enabled in a subreport.
Cause
When the "Repeat Group Header on Each Page" is enabled for a group in a main report the Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x runtime is unable to correclty format the PDF document which results in an exception.
Resolution
Updating the application to use Crystal Reports for Eclipse version 2.x runtime will resolve the issue.
The most recent updates to the Crystal Reports for Eclipse runtime can be freely downloaded from the SAP SDN Website.
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/crystalreports-java
=============================================
Since you are on JRC 11.8.4.1094 which is Crystal Reports for Eclipse 1.x, this may be the cause of your problem.
I hope that this helps.
Regards.

Remeber i am talking about online version of mscrm
please helpHello Devster,
Thank you to post your question on TechNet forum.
After reviewing the whole post, I have a question to you. You can access the report via the link, http://myServer/Reports_DEVPROJECT/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fData+Mgmt%2fSample+Letter.
From the URL, I can see that the report is located at: /Data Mgmt/Sample Letter, instead of /DataMgmt/Sample Letter. In addition, I found that the target report is "/DataMgmt/Sample HAP Letter" instead of "/DataMgmt/Sample Letter" as the error described. I
am not sure whether you post out the correct code segment.
Please check the above things on your side, and hope it is helpful to you.

How to generate a report in pdf from a stored proc
Hi, i need guidance on how to generate a report in pdf from an oracle stored proc.
The environment is oracle 10gas + 10gdb.

many thank'sHi Ludek
Thank you for your response. I have installed SP3 and ProcMon and still the same result.
I applied a filter on ProcMon to filter out items where the path contains 'export'.
There are a few items where the result is 'NAME NOT FOUND' but I don't think it necessarly had anything to do with the barcode. These include items such as 'EXPORT\MailDestType','EXPORT\DisableExportLiveOfficeSupport'','EXPORT\ExportDirectory' to name a few.
What drew my attention was the ACCESS DENIED result on specifically the EXPORT\PDF folders. The detail for these are Desired Access : All access, however the very same entry appears a little futher on as a SUCCESS but this is detailed as Desired Access: Query Value.
So in summary it looks something like this:
User : Server\XXX
Operation : RegOpenKey
Path : HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
Result : ACCESS DENIED
Desired Access : All Access
User : Server\XXX
Operation : RegOpenKey
Path : HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
Result : SUCCESS
Desired Access : Query Value
There are a few other entries that follow this pattern that exists in other locations such as HKLM\Software...
Could this 'ACCESS DENIED' be the problem? and If so how do I, and should I give user XXX this ALL Access its looking for.

Hi,
in my Crystal Report (2008) is a chart, designed with Xcelsius 2008. The report is displayed well. When I export my Flash-Chart from Xcelsius to PDF the chart is displayed correctly in PDF document.
When I export the Crystal Report to PDF my Flash-Chart is displayed completley grey in PDF document. There is the same issue when I schedule my Crystal Report to PDF on BO Edge-Server.
Is this a known issue and can be fixed?I am bringing this subject back up because I am still having problems with this. I am using CR 2008, Xcelsius 2008 and Edge 3.1 Enterprise Server along with a Visual Basic 2005 program. I have Adobe Reader 9 loaded on both my local machine and the server where Edge is installed.
I have a report that is passing flash variables to an embedded .swf file which is a pretty simple horizontal stacked bar chart. When I view this report in CR on my local machine everything on the report is correct and I can print it to PDF and it is correct when I view it with Adobe Reader. I can also print the report to a printer and get the desired result which is the most important thing here.
My next step is saving the report to the Enterprise server. I then run my Winform Visual Basic program that passes the paramters to the report and schedules it to run on the server. The report runs fine and we access it with InfoView. Again the report looks fine because when we open it, it opens with Adobe Reader on the server. The problem is when we try to print this instance of the report from the server the chart keeps doubling up the stacked bars so there are two of them instead of the one.
Does anybody have any ideas????
Thank you in advance.
