Access request list

Hi,
Currently all requests are going to the only person who is  in the access request list. Is there any way page owner can receive all access request which are related to only page access. Basically we have individual owner for each page, we do not want
all access request will direct to only to the person who belongs to access request list.
Thanks
srabon

Sorry Srabon, that's a no as well. Take a look at the following link for options on creating your own:

  • How to delete i.e. clear the pending access requests list from Access request page in SharePoint 2013

    Hi Team,
I am site collection admin of a SP13 site. The issue is we have added some of the users manually after we got requests from them for site access. But this has left those users as pending on Access requests page. We don't want that list to stack up.
I can not decline those requests as those users will be notified with declined mail. I searched for clearing the list of those pending requests but did't find any guidelines for this.
Is there any way I can do this. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance

You might consider using PowerShell to remove unwanted items from the "Access Requests" list of the web site.  This list holds all of the access requests including pending, declined and approved.  The following example demonstrates removing
the first item from the list.  Please note, I'm not aware whether or not there are any negative side effects to removing items from this list so doing so would be at your own risk.
    $web = get-spweb https://yoursharepointsite
    $list = $web.lists["Access Requests"]
    $list.items[0].delete()

  • Access request List issue after migration

I have migrated site sharePoint 2013 from metalogix tool.
Migration is from SharePoint 2013 to SharPoint 2013
I am getting one strange error while approving "Permission request" send by the users.  I have matched columns of  Access Request list(Hidden) from original site to New site , columns are matching, and also I have checked every column
on migrated site, ther are opening without error, so why I am getting this error , there are no logs for this.
One thing is diffrent is that on migrated site I am not gettign any data from Permission column check below, however On original site I am gettign data for this Permission column , what can be an issus ?
Please mark answer , if you think answer is helpful or correct.

    Hello WillAdams92,
It seems you are experiencing permissions issues. You can repair permissions using Disk Utility, which comes with all Macs. The following article provides more information about the feature:

  • Access Request list "Request For" Workflow

We are looking at ways to use the current access request functionality.
If we use the default view, pendingreq.aspx, for the Access Requests list, there is a column we are especially interested in "Request For".  This column, a hyperlink, tells you the level at which users are requesting access...and if approved,
the level at which the SCA is about to give permission.
If we create a new view on the Access Requests list, this "Request For" column isn't available anymore.
I've tried to pull the list in to look @ all the available fields via:
    1. Report Builder
    2. http://mySharePointSite.com/_api/lists/getbytitle('Access%20Requests')/items
...and can't find this "Request For" field.
Any ideas?  Separate or linked list elsewhere?

    Hi Eric,
I can now see the column via:
    http://mySharePointSite/_api/lists/getbytitle('Access%20Requests')/items?$select=ObjectRequestedTitleDisp
Looks like from Report Builder {download here} if you select "Show Hidden Fields" @ the top of the modal window when building the query, you'll see the
"Request_for" ...or this ObjectRequestedTitleDisp field.  Only bummer is it's just the name/title...there is no file extension or anything at the end of the string value.  So, if the name isn't "smart" coded/listed, you won't
know if it's library, folder, document or site level...there is no ".docx" or ".xlsx" @ the end of the "Request_for" string.  At least, I haven't found a way to decipher that yet.
In SharePoint Designer, I see the following View code which could lead to helping get to the right place, but I'm not familiar with this code just yet:
    <FieldRef Name="ObjectRequestedTitleDisp"/></ViewFields><RowLimit Paged="TRUE">15</RowLimit>
    <JSLink>accessrequestscontrol.js|mquery.js|callout.js|accessrequestsviewtemplate.js</JSLink>
    <XslLink Default="TRUE">main.xsl</XslLink><Toolbar Type="None"/></View></XmlDefinition>
    </WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart>
Creating a view to enable access request delete functionality
Open the site in SharePoint designer 2013 and click the “All Files” node
Notice the right side shows the “Access Requests” list
Right click the “Access Requests” list and select “Properties”
On the Views panel click New
Enter a name for the new view such as "showallitems"
    Click “OK”
Navigate back to the original “Access Requests and Invitations” page
Current URL is containing page name of “pendingreq.aspx”
    Change the URL to “showallitems.aspx”:
The view will have no columns
Click the ellipses and “Modify This View”
Add at least the 2 columns with edit options
Make sure if you select multiple columns (good practice so you can see the full scope of the request such as status and person), use the right side “Position from Left” ordering to have your edit item links located on the left side of the request row
Click “OK” in upper right of page, and now you can see the view which contains the edit links to allow deletion of the item

  • Mail for Access Request to O365 SharePoint site not received if a mail-enabled Distribution Lists' email address is provided.

I have the Access Request feature enabled in my O365 SharePoint site. This functionality is working fine for a single Site Owner's Email-ID and he is receiving the mail in his Outlook with an option to Approve/Deny the request. But when I specify the Email-ID
of a Distribution List (which consists of all the site owners), the mail is not sent to their respective members although the corresponding request is listed under the Pending Requests in the Access Requests list in Site Settings. Why is this happening and
if this not possible, kindly suggest a workaround.

can you specify the DL name instead of the email?

  • Access Denied Error while accessing "Site Settings Access requests and invitations"

    Hi,
I am getting Access Denied Error while accessing "Site Settings > Access requests and invitations" in SharePoint  2013 online. Currently I am the owner of the site and have "FULL CONTROL" access. I am able to access using
site collection account. So, what permission I have to give my regular account to access this page?
    Thanks, Pal

    Hello,
Have you recently changed the Owners group of the site collection or removed the user from the original owners group?
The reason I am asking is when the Access requests and invitations list are created, the permissions are given only to the default owners group at the time that the Access Request list was created.  If this "regular account" is not part of that owners
group, the user will receive access denied.  Site Collection Admins always have permissions for the Access Request List.
A workaround for the Access Denied issue is listed in the KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2911390/en-us.  By giving the correct group or user the permissions to this list, the users will not receive
    the Access Denied issue anymore.
Preferably, in order to grant the user the full permissions ( you will see features like resending invitations may still fail after implementing the above workaround) there is one other workaround that may be required depending on what the original issue
was.  Below are additional steps to restore full functionality.
1)Access the /_layouts/15/permsetup.aspx of the site collection, make sure the default Owners Group
is set correctly.  (There is a group selected)
    2) Add user to that Owners Group.  (Issue may be resolved at this step if the site collection Owners
Group was never changed, if not continue to next step.)
    3) Implement workaround on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2911390/en-us, by adding that owners
group as Full control on Access Request list Permissions.
Let me know how this works out for you.

  • Is it possible (and if so, how) to automatically approve Access Requests

SharePoint 2013 (we are using SP 2013 On-Prem.) provides the ability for users to "request" access to a site, or for Site Members to "share" content with users outside of the current site users.  In both cases, however, the request
for access/sharing is added to the hidden list Access Requests, and a notification sent to the Site Collection Owner/Administrator, who must then "approve" the request before access is actually granted to the outside user.
We have a use case where we would like to have any access requests (specifically those initiated by Member users to share content with non-site users) automatically approved.  We still want the Access Request list to track all the requests, but we want
to somehow set all requests to Approved as soon as they come in, so that the Site Owners/Admins do not become a bottleneck where it takes time for access to be granted.
Is there any way to accomplish this without the need for custom code?
I tried leveraging a SPD-based workflow, but there are not properties on Access Request that seem to represent the Approved/Declined selections available in the Request user interface, so there does not appear to be a way (at least via workflows) to set
    a request  to approved.
Any ideas/thoughts on how to maybe accomplish this?

Don't think there is a way to do this OOB.

    Hi Reinhard ,
According to your error message, it says that no data is available after  encoding the social notification mail message. It  should be caused by the E-Mail encoding setting.
For troubleshooting your issue, please check the character set of your E-Mail Settings:
Verify that the user account that is performing this procedure is a member of the Farm Administrators group.
On the Central Administration Home page, click System Settings.
On the System Settings page, in the E-Mail and Text Messages(SMS) section, click Configure outgoing e-mail settings.
On the Outgoing E-Mail Settings page, make sure
Character set setting is  65001(Unicode UTF-8).

  • Excel VBA to access sharepoint list without permission

    Hi,
I do find solution to retrieve the SharePoint list from excel VBA but my problem now is on the SharePoint permission to the list.
I am developing this solution in excel because i don't want the particular user to access the list direct from the portal because the list contains some unique and confidential data. So what i did was created a new view in the portal with selected column
and i connect to the view from excel. So every time the user want to retrieve the data, he can run macro to refresh the data in the excel.
When i run the macro it can generate the list because i do have permission but if i run the same macro on the person machine, excel request for username and password because he don't have the permission to the list.
Are there any work around to allow the user to generate the data in excel without permission to the SharePoint list.
    Thanks for the help.

I've done this before using SQL Server Reporting Services integrated into SharePoint.
Using SSRS, create the report you want the end user to view. Then create a Report Subscription, emailing the end user (or putting it in a file share/Doc Lib) the report. If they want to run it interactively, you can enable caching on the report, which would
pull the report from the last time it was scheduled to run (the data would not be 'real time' in this case).

  • Feature Request: List of linked contacts

    hi there,
as there is bug with disapearing gmail contacts (those which are linked with SIM contacts if SIM card contacts display is switched off) i've tried to view all linked contacts and unlink them. i found the only way to do this is to go trough all contacts in list, check everyone is it linked or not separatelly. as usual contact list may exceed even 100 positions it is really hard task, or time consuming.
it wouldbe very nice to have:
    1. a quick access to list of all linked contacts, so i may decide manually which one should be unliked, or:
    2. maybe a little icon next to a contact name to indicate that contact is linked, or:
    3. little icon at right side of the name which would indicate a type of storage: gmail, local phone, sim... contacts linked from few sources could have more than one icon.

    Try this:
Once logged in, click 'All Files' from the top-left corner.  Then click the 'Clock' symbol to 'List by when I viewed'
I realize it's not exactly what you've asked for, but it may be helpful!
I've shared this feature request with the Workspaces product manager too.

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing SAP GRC Access Control and we have an issue in Access Request Creation. If we put the user name in “User” field and press intro, the user details are updated, but if we want to make an "Advanced search" the user is not found and the application give us the following message: “No records found for the search criteria entered.”

We are using the Active Directory as Data Source.

  • GRC 10.0 SP 14 access request form displays unassigned roles

Dear experts, when I open the Access Request form and I select a user, and then I click on existing assignments, I am shown a list of roles and systems assigned to this user. However, when I go to those corresponding backend systems to see if the roles are actually assigned, it turns out that they are not. I have rerun all the sync jobs and they all completed successfully. Auto provisioning works on all these systems and there are no issues in terms of the RFC. However, as indicated by the attachments, it continues to show rules that were unassigned from this user some time ago. where might these assignments be coming from?

    Hi Santosh,
did you run the repository object sync job in full mode for this connector? This has mostly to do with outdated sync information as you can also see in the following note:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1667112
    Please check again.

  • Access Requests Not Sending Email

    Hi Everyone,
We are having issues with access requests not sending in our new SP 2013 deployment.  All other emails are flowing properly including workflows, alerts and denials for the access requests.  We have verified that the addresses populated
in the access request can receive email and have tested with multiple accounts and DG's.
We were receiving files in the badmail folder on our SMTP Relay every time there was an access request sent.  The error was 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender.  We updated the relay to allow for anonymous access
in the access and delivery sections and added the WFE as well as the SMTP relay and App servers to the smarthost exception list.   After performing this action, we no longer see badmail files populating, but we are still
not seeing the access requests coming through.
Any assistance or guidance on why these emails are not coming through would be greatly appreciated.  Please let me know if I left anything out that could be helpful in solving this issue.
    Thanks,
    Dan

We had this same surprise issue when we upgraded to SharePoint 2013 from 2010. In SP2013, the access request is being sent as the authenticated user of the SharePoint site that is requesting the access. While this makes it easier to reply to the user instead
of having access requests coming from the general account specified in Central Admin, it breaks all other outbound emails if you're using an authenticated account on the SMTP server. Unfortunately, we need certain email groups to be restricted to authenticated
users being able to send to them. This prevents the public from spamming one of our groups. Is anyone aware of a way to have access requests get routed to a different SMTP server than all other outbound emails? Or switch it back to all request coming from
the general SharePoint outbound email account. When you try to route them through the authenticated SMTP it chokes on the mail because the person submitting the access request isn't authorized to "send as" the authenticated account the SMTP relay
is configured to use. I've seen a work-around where users can be granted the right to send as the account used by the SMTP server, but that doesn't really scale well with almost a thousand users.

  • Can we add users to the 'Manage Access Request' field to process site access request in SharePoint Online?

    Hi,
I have a requirement in which I have to assign couple of email ids to the "Manage Access Request" field to process site access requests. And, this is possible using server object model but I have to achieve this on SharePoint Online with the help
    of CSOM.
There are two properties which control the access request configuration, first is "RequestAccessEnabled", a Boolean flag which turns on or off the access request feature for the site. The second property defines one or more email addresses where
requests will be sent to. It is named "RequestAccessEmail".
The above both properties are available for server object model but not for CSOM.
So, is there any other workaround or way to achieve the sane in CSOM?
    Thanks,

I don't think there is a programmatic workaround for SharePoint Online.  But the email address is just used for Notification.  Anyone with Manage Permissions can approve Access Requests.  If you create an email distribution list for the multiple
addresses that should be notified you should be able to add the email address for the distribution list into the Access request email field using the user interface.
