Access Root - Nokia N8

Hi everyone.
I recently made a factory reset on my N8-00 because wanted to free up the C:/ space after having problems in upgrading WhatsApp. The factory reset method used is *#7370#. After the factory reset, I have restored back files backed up earlier on Mass Memory and Micro.
An unexpected problem that I am currently experiencing after made the reset on my phone is that, all images snapped and videos recorded using Camera since the reset are now stored on the "Root Folder" of my Mass Memory, and it cannot be found on DCIM.
Is there any ways that I can access the Root Folder of the Mass Memory on PC, and is there any other way to change the folder of where Camera stores my images and videos?
There are no locations made for those images and videos, and I wanted to access it via PC so badly. it is not visible.

What do you have in "Hukommelse i brug" = Memory in use in the camera settings?
With the setting shown here, pictures are stored on my SDHC card in \DCIM\100NOKIA\
The "Gendan kameraindstillinger" below = Restore camera settings that I mentioned earlier.

How do i reset admin password. no disc but system automativally logs me in as administrator and can access root user mode

I recenly got this macbook, MA&00LL/A, max OS X, V:10.4.11, 2GHz IntelCore 2 duo, 2GHz, When I power up it automatically logs me on as administrator but prompts for password when I try to access/change certain features. I got the macbook from my cousin who has forgot password and has lost disc. I can access root user mode but as iam unfamiliar with apple I am hesitant to delete anything without making things worse. Is their anyway I can reset this admin password without the disc or simply delete this user and reconfigure system as myself as administrator. step by step instructions would be appreciated at this stage till i familiarize myself more. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If it came down to buying a disc, how much roughly do these cost??? thanks again

If you don't have your install disks you can get the 10.4 gray disks by calling Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need.
To find your serial number go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info, the System Profiler will then come up. The Serial Number (System) is down near the bottom of the Hardware Overview list.
If you don't have your install disc handy,then follow these steps
1. Start up in single-user mode (hold Command-S as thecomputer starts up).
2. Type: mount -uw /
3. Press Return.
4. Type this: passwd (user's short name) Replace "(user's shortname)" with the short name of the user account whose password you wish to reset. If you are not sure what the account name is, you can get a list of usernames by typing: ls /Users
5. Press Return.
6. Enter a new user password.
7. Press Return.
8. Type: reboot
9. Press Return.

With the Finder active, from the File menu, select Find... .
In the Find window that opens, in the section under the heading "Search for items whose:", click the Name pull-down menu and select Visibility. The options in the next pull-down menu to the right will change accordingly; select either invisible items or visible and invisible items as you prefer.
You can make invisible folders visible all the time (not recommended) using TinkerTool
You can also make make .hidden things visible by Booting from another drive.

How to access root apps folder again in Time Machine after a restore?

I just did a Time Machine full system restore which worked, but now it doesn't look like Time Machine is backing up my root level apps folder. All of my root apps were indeed restored, but if I try to go into Time Machine with my (root) Apps folder open, it switches the folder contents to my user apps instead so I don't have access to the root apps in TM. It doesn't appear to be backing them up at the root level anymore either (nothing in the exclusions that would cause this). Any ideas on what happened here? I have just one admin level account on this machine.

No, TM automatically denies everything to everybody, among other things, in it's backups, to keep us mere mortals from messing with them. The original file permissions are kept separately, and TM should restore them along with the files, as they were.
What you're probably seeing is, the user that you're signed-on as won't have those permissions, once TM restores the files. I'd suggest trying the same procedure as your other, or original user -- see if you get the same message.

PIM access on Nokia 6030

I am trying to develop an application that can access PIM database and file database on Nokia 6030. To run the application, I need App.access should be enabled to read and write permission. Here is what i see...
Game & Apps>myApplication>options>App.access>Phone access
"Read user data" --> set to "Not allowed"
"Read and edit data" --> set to "Not allowed"
Has anyone tried to develop applications for this particular model to access PIM or file database? If Yes, how did you enable the access?

Access point Nokia messaging.

I have a N97 mini.
How to delete access points in Nokia messaging? I have the latest version. I have Internet as access point. I have set Internet to ask before connecting as I want to use wi/fi when possible. Despite that Messaging connects with 3G without asking. In messaging there are access points I would like to erase. Is that possible? Can I setup messaging to ask before connecting?

create a new destination in connectivity settings, copy your wifi access point to it. and set messaging to use that.

How to access root iterator

I have a page with a region in it.
I need the region to update one field in the parent. This field is binded to a VO attribute through an iterator. The VO is filtered via two binding variables (with a view criteria). The region changes the values of the VO binding variables (via request variables).
I have tried AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(field); but the field's iterator is updated from the cache and no SQL is sent to the database. The result is that the field is not updated.
If I'm able to execute rootIterator.executeQuery in the region, I think the field will be updated because this instruction will force it to read data from the database and then apply the binding variables in the query.
With JSFUtils.findComponentInRoot("pt_pb2") I'm able to access an UI element from the root. I would need something like this but related with binding.
May I get the binding and the the iterator via the pageDef file ? It's another option.....
Any idea ?

Hi,
a quick solution is to ensure you use a shared Data Control and no isolated transaction. In your region you access the binding for the iterator (you may have to create it manually in the Executable section of the PageDef file that belongs to the view displayed in the region). Once you have this created, you can access it from BindingContext--> getCurrent-->getCurrentBindingsEntry --> get('name of iterator binding') - Now you are good to change the value in here. In the parent view, ensure the iterator has its ChangeEventPolicy (PageDef file) property set to ppr so that a change of the information refreshes the UI

i made a small file browser programand assigned it necessary permissions such as
javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read
javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.write
now when i run that program on nokia 6280 and try to access any file i get error ACCESS DENIED. what other permission do i have to get....

Can not access root app module in nested one

I am using Jdeveloper 11g R2 (11.1.2.3) & Weblogic 10.3.5.0
I have a root application module and few nested application modules nested under root one in my ADF application
I have few common methods under root application module Impl class and try to access them in nested Impl classes
like this (This code is in nestedAppModuleImpl class):
RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)someViewObject.getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule();
root.doSomething();
when I execute above code this excepton is thrown:
oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl cannot be cast to mypackage.RootAppModuleImpl
Any comment or workaround?
What is the proper solution?

root.doSomething();doesn't make sense. Does doSomething() really return an RootAppModuleImpl? You can access the root application module from the nested application module by
RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)getRootApplicationModule();If you get a class cast exception it means that there is something wrong with your RooAppModuleImpl. Does it extend ApplicationModuleImpl? If yes the cast should be possible.
Is the root application module of the type RootAppModuleImpl? only then you can access the common methods after getting the root application module.

}doesn't make sense to me. Where does this method reside? in the RootAppModuleImpl? if yes, why do you call getRootApplicationModule? You are in the root application Module. I can' comment on the createViewObject you are calling, but my feeling is that you don't need it either. The view you are creating should be there already if your application module are setup correctly.
And you are right, you should not call createRootApplicationModule if it is not needed. In your case it's not!

Exchange (OWA) access with Nokia Messaging

Thank you for enabling corporate mail (Exchange / OWA) is now working under Nokia Messaging.
I summarize a few items that could be improved:
1 In order to install this, you first need to log into the service with an online web account and only then can you install your corporate account. You can later delete the online web account. This is awkward.
2 Within Nokia Messaging I cannot set the email address I wish to show when I send someone an email. I use in my corporate email an alias which is slightly different from the main domain: for example if my corporate email address would be [email protected], then my alias would be [email protected]
3 Within Nokia Messaging I cannot set the reply_to address
4 Within Nokia Messaging I cannot accept calendar invitations.
5 MFE used to work fine with the 3G Portal (WAP based) access point and this saved me from using the 3G/Internet connection (payable). However, Nokia Messaging does not work on the 3G Portal access point and has to be set to 3G/Internet. This means that using Nokia Messaging will cost me more than MFE.

Can you please tell us how did you configure OWA on Nokia messaging, because as from Nokia support team , OWA is not supported in Nokia messaging !

But, many apps don't work and memory is already full (had it one month) so I'm unable to get the new system updates...

Can't access root share sometimes and some strange performance issues

I'm sometimes getting error 0x80070043 "The network name cannot be found" when accessing \\dc01 (the root), but can access shares via \\dc01\share.
When I get that error I also didn't get the network drive hosted on that server set via Group Policy, it fails with this error:
The user 'W:' preference item in the 'GPO Name' Group Policy Object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070008 Not enough storage is available to process this command.' This error was suppressed.
The client is Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop and file server is 2012 too. On a VMware host.
Then I log off and back on, and no issues.
Maybe related and maybe where the problem is: When I have the issue above and sometimes when I don't (the network drive is added fine) I have some strange performance issues on share/network drive: Word, Excel and PDF files opens very slowly. Offices says
"Contacting \\dc01\share..." for 20-30 sec and then opens. Text files don't have that problem.
I have a DC02 server also 2012 with no issues like like this.
Any tips how to troubleshoot?

Based on your description, you could access shares on DC via
\\dc01\share. But you couldn’t access shares via \\dc01.
Please check the
Network Path in the Properties of the shared folders at first. If the network path is
\\dc01\share, you should access the shared folder by using
\\dc01\share.
And when you configure
Drive Maps via domain group policy, you should also type the Network Path of the shared folders in the
Location edit.
About opening Office files very slow. There are some possible reasons.
File validation can slow down the opening of files.
This problem caused by the issue mentioned above.

Plssss Help, I can't Access my Nokia OVI account.

I use a nokia E6, I've had it since 2011. I've always used and installed apps via my Nokia OVI store untill sometimes early this I discovered it was no longer connecting (as in I could no longer login to my account). The error message is; unable to complete the operation due to connection error, please try again later. And this is what it has been displaying since early this year. I could login to my nokia account via other means like on my PC but, if I try to download mobile apps, it will ask me to connect my phone and when I do, it will require me to login via OVI which will take me back to the error display.
Please what do I do?
Or how do I access and install apps on my phone.
Even my social app is malfunctioning too, don't know if the problems are linked.

Mounted SMB shares always access root directory

Hello everybody,
I have no idea how to frame this in technical terms, so it might have been answered before. Anyway I hope someone recognizes this and can give me a clue!
My problem is this.
When I mount my user folder in my university via VPN, the finder will pop up that folder as soon as the connection is made. (e.g.: smb://student.uni.ac.uk/S_users/students/geography/smith).
However I can never navigate to this folder, for example, in a save dialog. I can also not access it again should I ever close the Finder window that pops up first. Unlike Windows Explorer, Finder does not show my user folder in the left-hand bar, but the university server's root (it's probably not the real root folder but I hope you know what I mean!). I cannot even navigate down to my folder, because I don't have the permissions on the server I guess. Even if I could it would be a nightmare! So all I can do is eject the folder and re-mount it to get to my popped up window again. Quite annoying.
This doesn't happen in Windows, which puts the correct folder right there in the list of mounted shares, so it can't be a technical limitation. What can I do? Does this still happen in Lion? It's so annoying that I'd put up with upgrading I guess.
