Access to 3rd party email from BT Mail

I asked this question about a year ago but didn't get a satisfactory reply because the email migration was in full flow and there were lots of problems
I have a BT Mail account which I use from home.  I also have a couple of business email accounts which I would like to incorporate into the BT account so when I'm at home I only have to login to one account.  I have the 2 business accounts defined in BT Mail and I can view the messages.  However, when I wish to reply to one of the business emails I don't get the option of sending the email as the business email address.  I used to be able to do this with the Yahoo account before it changed to BT.
Any ideas how I can get this to work?  I don't want to install Outlook or Thunderbird.
Thanks

Try a client, you'll wonder why you ever used webmail.
All your accounts in one place, no more logging in and out as the client does that for you, no more ads, no more trackers, what's not to like?
OK, you win.  Which email client would you recommend & can you post a link for the download?  Windows 8.1

    Hi:
I should also mention thatthe issue is with Mac Mail, which is where the messages are being forwarded to from the 3rd party email account.,......sorry for any confusion.
This is a problem that cropped up recently, i.e., previous to the past couple of weeks, she had no issues with trashing email.

  • Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac. Tried every settings, My iCloud only works with Mail.app

Can't sign in using any 3rd party email client with my iCloud account on any Mac or any other Mac. My iCloud will only work with Mail.app. All the clients I tried work perfectly well as long as I sign in with somebody else's iCloud account. But mine won't work no matter the client (Postbox, Unibox, Airmail...) and no matter the computer.
I can access my account on iCloud.com, but I can't use email clients without getting error messages prompting me to check my password or login.
I was able to use those clients in the past but a couple of months ago I got logged out of Airmail and the issue started just like that!
I tried every possible mail server settings including the following:
IMAP information for the incoming mail server
    Server name: imap.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 993
Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected])
    Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
    Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    SSL Required: Yes
If you receive errors when using SSL, try using TLS instead.
    Port: 587
    SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker)
    Password: Your iCloud password

Those are the correct settings, and they work with any email client that supports Imap.
    Try again.

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
As mentioned, unset SSL when using port 25. You could try using port 587 (again without SSL set).
If you still get an error message when trying to send, can you post that ?

  • 3rd Party email - outgoing POP3 configuration

This is just an FYI for anyone else that may be having a problem sending email from a 3rd party POP3 email account.  I was not able to find the information with numerous searches, so I thought I'd post it here after I got it figured out.
I just recently switched my internet access to FiOS, and several 3rd party email accounts that had been working just fine in Mozilla Thunderbird quit sending mail.  The receive still worked fine, but any attempt to send a message just timed out with a message that the server was inaccessible.  These accounts were set up using port 25 and no connection security for the SMTP servers.
It seems that FiOS is blocking access to the SMTP servers on port 25.  I was able to get the accounts working again by using port 465 for the accounts with SSL/TLS security and normal password authentication, and port 587 for the accounts with no connection security.  No other changes to my Thunderbird account setup were needed.

Yes, I searched in the email areas first.  But the problem is, this has NOTHING to do with Verizon email, and that seems to be all that is covered.  It may be there, but I couldn't find it in the FAQs or other places that I checked.  I'll admit that I did not read several thousand threads in detail on miscilaneous subjects, but I previewed a wole lot of them looking for something that seemed to apply.  If I had known it was specifically an issue with port 25 before I started the research, it would have been easier to solve.
This issue is about how to set up SMTP outgoing access to a 3rd party email account while using FiOS internet access, NOT using Verizon.net email or any other Verizon email.  And that is why I originally posted this information in the internet forum.
A thread about how to set up Thunderbird for Verizon email is of absolutely no value if I do not use Verizon email.
The simple fact is that I have been successfully using the old Thunderbird settings with port 25, on five different computers, -  including several laptops used for lots of traveling (therefore MANY different ISP connections in multiple countries) for quite a few years.  I was initially stymied when I found that the same computers that have always been able to send email on these accounts from any other internet connection could not do that from FiOS.  I was unable to find any information here about how to access NON-Verizon email accounts from FiOS internet connections, so I had to find it by outside research and trial/error testing.  I simply wanted to post the information so that maybe it would be shared with others that faced the same problem.

  • How do I get rid of a ton of old reimported email from the Mail App?

I was having an sync issue with a particular email address, it wasn't getting the emails forwarded from GMail into my Apple Mail account, so I followed the directions I got from apple.com
"Go to your home Library folder, then to the Mail folder and remove the “DefaultCounts”, “Envelope Index” and the “LSMMap” files."
"The next time you start up Apple Mail it should ask you to reimport all messages and it will rebuilt the index."
So, before I could use the Apple Mail, I had to let it reimport all messages and rebuild the index, which I did. Now, I did notice it was reimporting well over hundreds of thousands of files. Not sure if they were emails or what, but it took a long time to rebuild.
Now after, the email address was able to forward or "push" the email to my Mail program. Problem fixed. But hours later I looked at my available harddrive space and noticed I only 80GB's availble when before I have 224GB's of Harddrive space available on my 500GB home drive.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not 100% sure if this is the problem, but there's no other explanation I can come up with because I didn't import anything or install anything else on my computer that day, especially that big.

3rd party email addresses have to be deleted on every synmced mac product, although I have 1and1.co.uk and my imac updatetes the mails in that account from mac mail.
Yahoo etc is a 2 step deleting process but good to get your emails pushed when on the go.

  • 3rd party email will not work

I have a 3rd party software that emails users on request. When we were using Office 2003 we did not have a problem. I am not sure that the issue is with the version of office, but I do know that there are many more security items in the newer versions. I
need to find out if there is something within outlook 2007/2010 that would prevent a 3rd party software from sending an unsecure email. This is all internal, the emails are not being sent out. We do have the correct information (mail server/port 25) in the
3rd party software setup. The error is:
The e-mail was not sent to the individual for the following reason:
A communication error occurred with the mail server.
Service not available, closing transmission channel. Ther server response was: 4.3.2 Service not available, closing transmission channel.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Please check your antivirus software settings and your firewall settings. Try to temporarily disable them and then test the issue again.
The error message would indicate that the mail server itself is rejecting the connection. If you are using an Exchange server, please try adding your server IP Address to the field "Receive mail from remote server that have this IP Address". You
can find the setting by going to: Server Configuration > Hub Transport > "Default SERVERNAME" > Network tab > "Receive mail from remote servers that have this IP Address".
In addition, you can contact the third-party software support to confirm that if you need to change any setting in newer version of Outlook.

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 connector to check 3rd party email providers like gmail, etc.

Is there a solution that allows you to create requests from email massages sent to 3rd party email providers like gmail, yahoo, etc.?  Similar to the way the Exchange connector works with Exchange.

    Hi Herb,
    Now provided by SCUtils :)
SCUtils Email Connector supports IMAP/POP3 so all mail servers are supported.

I want to sync my 3rd party email to  all of my MACs.  If i delete an email on one device i would like it to delete on all the others. Anyone have any luck.  Maybe icloud?  How do i switch it for exsiting emails on Apple mail. thanks!

    sjc47 wrote:
I was also wondering why iCloud doesn't delete e mail across all devices when I delete it on one device.
It does, provided it is an iCloud email account (which is an IMAP account).  Email from non-iCloud email accounts such as Comcast, etc. is entirely separate and is not managed in any way by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
I am also confused by the discussion that POP accounts don't sync using iCloud as I have been using my Comcast POP account as well as several other POP e mail accounts and I receive e mails from all these accounts across all my devices without issue (Mac Mini, MacBookPro 13, iPhone5).
As mentioned, your non-iCloud POP accounts are entirely separate email accounts and are not managed by iCloud.  You are receiving email from your POP accounts on all your devices because you have the accounts set up on all your devices; but the email is being sent from your other email providers such as Comcast, not by iCloud.
    sjc47 wrote:
When you say POP accounts don't sync are you all referring to the deleting of e mails which was one of the subjects of the original post or is it something else I'm missing?
Unlike IMAP accounts, POP/POP3 accounts only deliver email to your devices.  Any subsequent changes that you make an email on any of your devices such as deleting a message, marking it as read, etc., will not be synced to your other devices.  This will give you a little more information on the difference: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2008/05/getting-gmail-anywhere-imap-versus-pop.htm l.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Provide the access to 3rd party in internal network? Needs some Design suggestions?

    Hi Folks,
I have to provide the access to 3rd party in the internal network to repair their server...
How can we provide them the access? Needs some input as design perspective and working solution?
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    MS

Well I would argue that if you distrust the remote user so much that you should seriously reconsider letting them work on equipment on your network at all.. Actually in that case, "watching" them during a remote desktop sharing session is actually a more secure solution as you can validate the actions they are taken are limited to those necessary to perform the tasks at hand. When I have had to work on systems in environments that were required to be secure to meet regulatory requirements, I was required to provide a step-by-step list of activities before hand and my performance of only those activities and verification of the expected outcome was done by staff of the client I was supporting.
If you want a purely network-based solution then put a temporary access list on the server's default gateway for the period during which the remote maintenance is ongoing allowing it to communicate only to/from the remote access VPN gateway.
A more sustainable setup would be to host the server in a DMZ on a private VLAN with an access list (or default setting) on the DMZ interface of the firewall that prohibits the server from initiating communication to the inside network.

  • 3rd Party Email Application for CF

I know there are 3rd party email applications for CF ... Can
anyone point me to them and/or let me know if they have worked
better. I'm looking for more power with email (tracking, sending,
    routing, etc).
    Thanks,
    Joe

Yeah, that might be to much. Normally, CF will directly send
to your mailserver (usually IIS mail services) and if something
goes wrong your only options reside in looking at the CF logs if
you're logging mail. But I know there are some third party apps
that do more tracking/resending then send to your mail server (and
or better bulk mail processing). In your case you've just handled
it more complexly by using an Exchange Server. That will be
overkill for me plus a good amount of time learning and installing
    (not to mention price tag).

  • Cannot send email from the Mail App?

I've had an izymail subscription for 1 year and just renewed it last week. I could never send an email from my Mail App without a window popping up stating "izymail cannot connect to the server" and the sending bar (along the bottom of the screen) just freezes and will not send.
I've a Hotmail account linked up to izymail. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.
