Access to ADE books purchased on an old Adobe account

I have puchased a number of ADE books with an old Adobe account. I can no longer access that account as the password is not valid anymore. I cannot use the password reminder because the email address associated with the account no longer exists.
I have a new Abode account but I cannot access the books with the new account because they are not authorised to that account.
I have had absolutely no help from Adobe support in trying to remedy this situation

Protected items are permanently tied to the iTunes account used to purchased them. The phone and computer must be authorized using the same Apple ID.

I just transfered my library on iTunes to a new PC and also changed Internet Service provider, now I can't access my old music purchased under the old ISP account, any ideas?

    Hey there,
Have you authorized your new computer yet? To do this, head to Store and click on Authorize computer. Then enter your account name and password in and see if that helps.
Here is a bit more on authorizing and de-authorizing computers in iTunes.

  • Is there a way to transfer music I've purchased from my old Apple account to my new one?

    Hi everyone,
Many moons ago, when the iPod came out I downloaded iTunes and setup an account using my then current e-mail address aka user ID for iTunes.  However, fast forward about 8 years later and that old e-mail address has long been forgotten.  I know the log in information but I haven't used the e-mail for communication purposes for about the last 3 years.  At the time I got myself a new e-mail address I just continued to download from the iTunes store using the same account with the old e-mail address because basically I was never really concerned with getting the receipts, weekly updates, etc. (I get enough e-mail as it is, lol).
This past summer my husband bought me an iPhone and set it up for me using my new/current e-mail address, different from the one I had purchased 100's of iTunes songs with over the past 8 years or so.  It seems as though while I can authorize iTunes for both of the accounts, and share the music on different computers, I can only transfer the ones I've downloaded with my new username/e-mail address from iTunes to my iPhone?!  What do I do about all of the 100's of purchases I made with my other account, are they now worth nothing as far as getting them on my iPhone which I use as my iPod nowadays?!
I'm staring at my lucky bamboo as I type this because I get this feeling that I'm SOL .  I've tried "googling" my way to the answer but I haven't been able to find it.  And if it turns out I am, than shame on Apple.  It's ridiculous to presume that someone will keep the same e-mail address created as a kid which is typically a non-sense, flashy e-mail to adulthood when they tend to be a little more reserved and business friendly; there should be a way to transfer between user accounts if it's clear that that account and billing information is the same.
    Any help is appreicated.
    Thanks.

    Zion,
This worked! ...about 50%, but I suppose that's better than nothing.  I went into iTunes on my old username and downloaded the 300+ songs to my library but then for some reason when I went to transfer them to my iPhone it would only transfer like 120 or so of them.  I'm not really sure why but I'll continue to work on it.  Thanks so much for the help.
FYI - if anyone else reads this bc they have the same problem.  If you choose to go this route and download previous purchases from your old account you cannot auto download any content on your new(er) apple ID for 90 days after the purchase download.  Just something to keep in mind, but for me, it was totally worth it.  I have no qualms about manually transferring the songs to my iPhone for the next 3 months if it meant getting the rights to transfer all my old songs to my iPhone.
    Thanks again!

  • HT1918 how do I transfer purchases from an old itunes account to a new one?

I recently bought a new Macbook and just transfered my iTunes library from my old one by using an external hard drive.  It turns out that a lot of my music was bought through an old itunes account and I can't remember the password for that account so as to authorize my new computer.  I have since started a new account and want to know if there's a way I can move what I purchased through my old account into my current account.  Help!

Sorry, but you cannot transfer purchases from one iTunes Store account to another. You'll need to continue to use that old account ID for authorizations and re-downloads. If you can't remember the password, you should be able to reset it through this web page:

  • Is it possible for me to transfer the purchases from my old itunes account to my new one? I would like to keep all of my music, movies, tv shows etc.

I just created a new Apple ID that is different from my old one. Is it possible for me to transfer the purchases from my old account to my new one? I would like to keep all of my music, movies, tv shows etc.

It doesn't matter what your AppleID is - you can just change the email address associated with it at http://appleid.apple.com/ as mentioned numerous times above.
Okay, my former Apple ID = my former email address and the latter is dead because I moved out of the geographic area.
If you just updated the email address associated with your AppleID you wouldn't have to sign in twice.
I guess Apple Inc is wrong because that is EXACTLY what they stated when I called yesterday afternoon.  SIGN IN TWICE when I activate Apple TV and want to watch/listen to my legitimate purchases when my iMac is OFF.
Your only problem is the fact you didn't safely store the password to your account and subsequently forgot it.
Wrong ... my only PROBLEM, SIR, is that my bride, my wife of over 51 years died in my arms at 4:16 AM on December 27, 2012.  As a direct result, I decided to get the **** out of the city where my Nancy and I lived for **** near 20 years.
On the outside chance it is of interest to you, she is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Section 66, based on my faithful military service during 1961 -> 1981 ... including Vietnam during 1967.

Part of this PROBLEM, SIR, is that Apple Inc refuses to merge my old purchases with my new one.
    SHAME ON YOU!!!

  • Purchased songs with old AOL account, itunes won't play them, nor copy them

Years ago, I used my old AOL account name as my Apple/itunes login, and purchased several songs. Since then, I've changed my Apple ID, and songs I've purchased using that login play fine on my Mac, and transfer to my ipod/iphone. However, songs I purchased with the old AOL login will not sync to ipod/iphone, and when I try to play them in itunes, it comes up with "Computer is not authorized to play. Would you like to authorize", and it has my AOL name, and it asked me to enter the password (which I remember), so I enter it, but after i enter it, it says "You need to change your account to use an Apple ID." But I already have an Apple ID. Long question short: How do I make it so my old AOL purchased songs will play on my iTunes and ipod?

I was referring to the online music store. I googled and found this contact:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html
You should also be able to log into your account on find some means of contact or a Report a Problem link from the account or an e-mail receipt (if you still have one).

  • No longer have access to the email I set up my Adobe account with...

    All,
About 3-4 yrs ago, I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements.  I now want to move this product to another computer.  However, to do this, I need to find my serial number.  To find my serial number, I need to log into my account.  I cannot do this though, as the dialog box I get says "for security reasons you need to reset your password...we sent you an email with info"  Or something to that effect.  However, I haven't used that email address for years.  So I cannot get a new password, cannot get into my Adobe account and cannot move my product to a new computer.  Also...there is no phone support anymore for my product.
    Wow...should it be this difficult?
    J

I have had the same email address since I left CompuServe about 20 years ago, so never a problem there (and Norton Internet Security keeps track of my passwords in an encrypted database)
To be sure I do not have other problems due to lost information, I put all downloads in a folder on one of my internal hard drives (currently have 4 internals) along with a text file at the root of that folder which I update with serial numbers every time I buy a new program (disc or download) AND I copy that entire folder to an external USB drive or two
I work on the theory that there are two kinds of computer owners... those who HAVE had a hard drive crash, and those who WILL have a hard drive crash
I also make periodic backups of my boot/software drive, to make it easy to do a full restore
Hardware crashes or virus infections or simple software problems happen, so you should buy AND USE software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus, making step-by-step backups during a new setup or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything

  • I upgraded to mountain lion and created a new password.  I cannot access pages which I purchased using my old id and password.  what do I do?

My hard drive crashed and I took it in to an Apple store.  It was fixed and all data was erased including the program pages which I purchased.  I created a new user name and password.  Is there any way to recover Pages or do I have to purchase it again?

Apps can only be reinstalled for free using the same Apple ID they were originally associated with.
You need to re purchase Pages using the new Apple ID and password.

  • How do i share the purchases from my old itunes account, with my new itunes account and id?

My wife and i are getting divorced and I, i have had an itunes account for a few years. We recently switched my credit card infor for hers before the divorce decision. Now I have adjusted the account to give her the original account and I have created a new second account with my credit card information. I need to know how to make the purchaces from the original account avaiable to the new account.

Do you have your purchases on a backup drive ? If not then depending upon what country that you are in then you might be able to redownload some/all of your iTunes purchases via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes - what you can redownload will depend upon what country that you are in (music, films, TV programmes can't be redownloaded in all ; audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads), and whether they are still in your country's store (rights-holders occasionally remove things).
If you do redownload an account's past purchases then you may tie that computer to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - so you won't be able to use iTunes Match or automatic downloads or redownload past purchases from another account until the 90 days have completed.

  • Can't play songs purchased under old AOL account after upgrade to Apple ID

I guess I've been abandoned by the iTunesStoreSupport. They basically told me what caused my problem and now will not return any of my emails.
This message is mostly to inform anyone who "upgrades" an old AOL iTunes account to an Apple ID to be sure to use the same credit card for the new Apple account that you used for your AOL account.
About 2 years ago I "upgraded" my AOL iTunes Store account to be an APPLE ID. When I did that, I used a different credit card for my Apple ID than I had been using for my old AOL account. Big mistake. At the time I had no idea it would cause problems later. I don't remember seeing anything at all warning me about the importance of that at the time. Now, according to Shwetha at iTunesStoreSupport it is "important to use the same credit card for a successful conversion".
Everything worked fine with iTunes for the past 2 years, but a month ago I upgraded my hard drive in my computer and promptly recycled my old hard drive. Another mistake on my part.
A few days later when I went to play a song purchased under the old AOL account I got stuck in that endless loop where I get the prompt "This computer is not authorized to play __. Would you like to authorize it?" Then it asks me to Upgrade my AOL account, but I already did that 2 years ago. I went ahead and attempted to upgrade the AOL account again, but I was still stuck in the endless loop. (note: I did successfully authorize the computer for my Apple ID with no problems.)
I followed every step in the Troubleshooting Guide "support.apple.com/kb/TS1389" including the step where I delete the SC Info folder, but I was still stuck in that endless loop of authorizing / deauthorizing.
Shwetha was very professional and did work with me pretty quickly through 3 rounds of emails and various troubleshooting attempts. But as soon as we realized that I had used a different credit card when upgrading the AOL account to an Apple account and that the conversion was not successful, they stopped replying to my emails. I guess I'm a lost cause.

I repeat here a post I made elsewhere: I hope that it helps you, and, if it does, please post the info elsewhere.
You can get this problem solved!
I encountered this problem yesterday, when I tried to play some songs in my ITunes library on a new computer; this is an ITunes library that I had moved from my old computer.
I called Apple Support, and the excellent Tech person began looking into the problem.
Meanwhile, while I was waiting for him, I Googled the problem (which I should have done first): lots and lots of people (I discovered) have bumped into this same frustrating problem.
Yes: the problem arises when you move to a new computer with an ITunes library that includes songs you bought, way back when, using an AOL ID.
Apple Support contacted ITunes. And ITunes tracked down my AOL account, and then issued me (that is, me and Apple Support) a new Apple ID. There are two or three additional steps; they are not hard, but you need the combo of help from Apple Support and ITunes. The key thing is getting the new Apple ID, which you must have, and which, once it has done its work, you then can ignore..
I can now listen to everything--and I am signed in to ITunes using my current, usual Apple ID.
Note: All of this would be easier and simpler for us if we could actually speak to someone at ITunes; the only way we can get to a "live" person there is by contacting someone at Apple Support.

  • Unable to play purchased tracks from old account

am sure this has been asked many times before but...............
I changed ISP provider 18 months ago, i.e. our email address changed and we also changed our credit card details. I backed up all my i-tunes store purchased music in preparation for moving to a new PC. Despite authorizing the new PC (apparently successfully) i-tunes simply refuses to play anything that was purchased under my old email account and, I can't remember the password.
The ironic thing is that CD's that i purchased 10 yrs ago can simply be fed into the blue-ray drive and i can reload them. No such luck on music that was purchased less than 3 yrs ago via i-tunes. groan. we also don't have phone help in the UK. anybody help before i ditch i-tunes store and go back to buying CD's?

it does seem crazy not to have some sort of tag that u can carry with u
    What?
that would allow you to easily keep your ligitimately purchase music as your own
There's nothing really to do except copy your music onto CD/DVD/hard drive.
Continue to use the same iTunes account you had.
far too complicated and something that needs addressing.
I believe you are trying to make it much more difficult than it is.
If you get a new computer, copy your files from the old to the new.
If you have the same computer, you need do nothing.
Change the info in your iTunes account if you move or get a new ISP.
That is all you need to do.

  • Can I move storage purchased under old MobileMe account to my AppleID account?

Can I transfer the extra storage purchased on my old MobileMe account to my AppleID account (which is my primary account for iCloud)?  If not, can I get a refund for the MobileMe storage to use toward my AppleID account?

This can't be done: and you aren't due for a refund because your MobileMe account was extended for free from the date of its last renewal coming due up to the service closing in July, so you haven't been paying for it.
As an ex-MobileMe user your migrated iCloud account (signed into with your ex-MobileMe address) storage has been extended by 20GB for free but only until the end of September - at that time it will revert to 5GB unless you purchase additional storage.

  • NEW ADOBE ACCOUNT REMOVING DRM FROM ALL BOOKS

I have had ADE and Sony Reader for PC for some years without any major problems. Recently I have been having some issues downloading a particular book - the acsm would not download the file from Google Play Books. In trying to fix this I seem to have created a far worse problem.
One of the fixes suggested was to ensure my computer was properly authorised - but I was unsure of my password on my Adobe account linked to an old and defunct email.  Not knowing what else to do I created a new account with my current email address, big mistake.
Adobe have now rather unhelpfully removed the DRM from all my legitmately pruchased books as they were purchased on my old account. I cannot open any book now either on my laptop or my ereader and I have no way of accessing the old Adobe account.
My computer is running Windows Vista and my ereader is Sony PRS T1, I suspect that this can only be resolved by Adobe linking or merging my accounts but if anyone can help  I would be very grateful.
