Access to IM conversation

I just had a rather important conversation with a co-worker via IM on my iPhone. I need to save it. Is there any way I can access that information on my PC (through either some data iTunes backs up, or via access to the 'Pod), so I don't have to retype the whole thing?
Thanks in advance,
G.

Try http://homepage.mac.com/vaughn/msync/ Mobile Sync Browser. Mac & PC
I have tested this. You don't really need your iPhone connected at all. If you at least synced to your PC a couple times since the convo. And iTunes made a proper backup. It will scan the backup file and show you the SMS conversations.
You can connect iPhone if needed and it should scan iPhone for SMS messages as well.
As far as saving the convo. Looks like you may have to pay for the Software to do that. Best of luck to you.

  • Need help regarding Access to Oracle conversion.

    How do I covert an Access database to Oracle format.

    Are you just converting the data? Or are their forms/ applications as well that need to be converted?
    Does "convert" imply that this is a one-time process? Or will this be an ongoing process?
    Among the tools, the Oracle Migration Workbench is now embedded in SQL Developer. That should assist in migrating the data. If you're trying to convert applications as well, there are tools in APEX to convert Access applications.

  • Possible to Turn Off Tagging for Accessibility?

    Question: Is it possible to skip or disable tagging for accessibility option during conversion of a Word doc to PDF?
    I convert 90+ doc's to PDF to deliver my project twice yearly. Most files are 200 pages +. ADOBE often falls over during conversion. Usually it appears the tagging phase is problematic. Sometimes for especially large files, Acrobat prompts to skip tagging in order to speed up conversion. When I accept [Yes] to turn off tagging, the PDF is generated very rapidly with no issues. I would like to turn of tagging permanently.
    How do I do this, if possible. I have consulted Help, and checked all the menu options, but cannot figure out if possible nor how to accomplish.
    Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Help with ID3 tag conversion

    hi - I use a product called Squeezecenter as a music server to drive a couple music devices, and in order for it to read tags and artwork properly it needs to used v 2.3. iTunes has always given me the option to select all tracks and convert to v2.3, no problem. Recently I re-ripped my entire CD collection (to AIFF) and also buy high resolution tracks online and transcode from WAV to AIFF. AIFF has tagging capability, but now that my entire library is AIFF and some Apple Lossless, iTunes is no longer giving me the option to convert tags to v2.3 (which I used to do after I added new tracks to ensure compatibility). So, anyone know what version iTunes uses by default with the AIFF format now that I don't have the convert option? (I have a 2nd library with my lossy collection and it still has the option to convert tags, so I'm guessing it's the presence of MP3 or AAC that allows for this?).
    So anyone know how to access the tag conversion feature when just AIFF/Apple Lossless files or which version of tags it might be using? Thank you!

  • Old conversations are not synchronized with new MacBook Pro

    Hello!
    Yesterday I purchased the newest Retina MacBook Pro (medio 2014), upgraded to Yosemite and started installing and setting up my applications. Sadly, I seem to have a problem with iMessage, since it's not synchronizing my messages properly.
    Up until now I've been using an iPhone 3GS, a MBP (medio 2009 w. Yosemite) and an iMac (late 2012 w. Yosemite), and everything seems to work fine, since all the devices share and can access the same conversation history. However, when I started setting up iMessage on my newly purchased RMBP, the conversation history with each of my contacts isn't synchronized even though I'm able to send messages. I tried logging in/out, delete/add my iCloud account, but nothing seems to work.
    I assume all of my messages are synchronized with iCloud. Of course it would make sense if it took some time for Apple to recognize and synchronize the messages, but it's been 18 hours since I started messing with iMessage. Am I being to impatient?
    Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Theis

    Hi,
    It is a yes, no and maybe answer.
    You have to grab several items form the old Mac and place them in the correct places on the new Mac.
    As you seem to be using Yosemite all round that task is easier (that is a relative easier),
    See this pic
    Note the Path Bar across the bottom that list where this Archive folder is.
    It can be shortened to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Archive
    (you can type or Paste this in the Dialogue box in the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder)
    In the Messages folder is also an Alias that links to the Attachments folder.  (I will come to that later)
    You also need this spot.
    This is Still in ~/Library but not in the Containers bit but just the Messages folder.
    It has the Attachments folder and the various chat.db items.
    Move the Contents of the Attachments from one computer to the new one.
    Move ALL the chat.db items (I must admit I am not sure about leaving the incompatible ones behind).
    Make an Alias of the Attachments folder and drag it to it's proper position (in the Containers/../../Library/Messages folder)  (replace the one that is there so it is linked to the moved stuff).
    Now go back to the Archive folder.  If you are using the Show Path Bar (view Menu of Finder) then you can Right Click the folder icons
    Select the Archive Folder and then Get Info on the right click.
    At the Bottom highlight your name in the list for Permissions.
    You Should have Read and Write Permissions.
    If you now use the Gogwheel type icon you can see if you Own the Folder.
    If it is greyed out like this one then you Own it.
    However you are most likely to have to "Apply to Enclosed" items as you have just moved things.
    Repeat for the Chat.db and Attachments (~/Library/Messages folder).
    And then the Alias just to be sure.
    There is not an Export option that would be simpler.

  • Why do I have a home screen image that I did not choose?

    I just turned on my iMac (24-inch, Early 2009) and a new desktop image appeared.  I did not choose that image.  I did not do an update recently?
    Would someone float some ideas about this?

    It may be because your desktop image was in iPhoto and can no longer be accessed after a conversion to Photos -- although that shouldn't be the case unless you deleted your iPhoto Library. At any rate you may be able to go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver and find the original and set it back to that.

  • Bug? Unable to add ActionListener using Anonymous class.

    Hi,
    I come accross one strange behaviour while adding ActionListener to RCF component.
    I am trying to add the ActionListener in the managed bean using the Anonymous.
    We can add the actionListener to a button using following methods. I am talking about the the first case. Only this case is not working. Rest other 2 cases are working properly.
    Case 1:
    class MyClass {
         RichCommmandButton btnTest = new RichCommmandButton();
         public MyClass(){
              btnTest.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){
                   public void processAction(ActionEvent event){
    Case 2:
    class MyClass implements ActionListener {
         RichCommmandButton btnTest = new RichCommmandButton();
         public void processAction(ActionEvent event){
    <af:button binding="#{myClassBean.btnTest}" actionListener="#{myClassBean.processAction}"/>
    Case 3:
    class MyClass implements ActionListener {
         RichCommmandButton btnTest = new RichCommmandButton();
         public void addActionLister(){
              //Use EL to add processAction(). Create MethodBinding
              FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elContext = facesContext.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory exprfactory = facesContext.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
              MethodExpression actionListener =
    exprfactory.createMethodExpression(elContext, "#{myClassBean.processAction}", null, new Class[] { ActionEvent.class });
              btnTest.setActionListener(actionListener);
         public void processAction(ActionEvent event){
    Java has provided good way to use the Anonymous classes while adding the listeners. It should work with the RCF also.
    Some how i found the case 1 usefull, as i can have as many buttons in my screen and i can add the actionListener in one method. Also it is easy to read. I dont have to see the JSPX page to find the associated actionListener method.
    Is it a bug or i am wrong at some point?
    Any sujjestions are welcome.
    - Sujay.

    Hello Sujay,
    As I said in my previous reply, you can try with request scope. In JSF you shouldn't use the binding attribute very often. I agree that anonymous class is nice, but don't forget that you might be dealing with client state saving here so it cannot be perfectly compared with Swing that maintains everything in RAM. What I think happens with you currently is the following:
    1. Bean is created and the button instance as well. The ActionListener is added to the button;
    2. The view is rendered and while it is, the binding attribute is evaluated, resulting in the get method of your bean being called;
    3. Since the method returns something different than null, the button instance created in 1. get used in the component tree;
    4. The tree's state is saved on the client, since your class isn't a StateHolder, nor Serializable, the StateManager doesn't know how to deal with it so it gets discarded from the saved state and maybe from the component itself (would have to debug the render view phase to be sure);
    5. The postback request arrives, the tree is restored. When the handler reaches the button, it call the bean that returns the same instance that was used in the previous tree (since not request scoped), which is BAD because the remaining of the tree is not made of the same object instances, but rather new deserialized ones. The component then gets updated from the client state saved in 4, this might also be where the listener get removed (again debugging would tell you this, but I would tend more with the previous possibility). Note that with a request scoped bean you would have to add the listener during the first get method call (by checking if the component is null) or in the constructor as you're doing right now. It would be a very clean way and you could give the request bean (and thus the listener) access to the conversation scoped bean through injection which is very nice as well.
    6. The invoke application phase occurs and the listener is no longer there.
    Btw, this isn't a rich client issue, more a specification one. I'm curious if it works in a simple JSF RI application, if it does then I guess it would be a bug in Trinidad and/or rich client state handling architecture (using FacesBean).

  • Oracle PL/SQL or JavaScript Interaction with a PDF Document

    I'm new to LiveCycle - be gentle. . . :-)
    My department is attempting to develop a web application which will, among other things, generate fixed layout forms filled with data from the database or from an application web page. The web pages for this application will be served via stored procedures from an Oracle database through a dedicated web server - that is, the web pages are actually contained within stored procedures called by the browser through the web server (we're sort of an odd-ball shop, serving pages this way, but Oracle does lend itself well to this technique). We are exploring the feasibility of using LiveCycle to design the fixed layout forms without having to form a connection to the database from within the document or PDF viewer. We are currently using Crystal Reports to generate forms or reports but we are trying to get away from it due to implementation difficulties, dependability and connection issues and the fact that a license for a Crystal Reports viewer must be purchased for everyone who needs to view the reports.
    Is it possible to add a JavaScript snippet to an existing PDF form template from within an Oracle stored procedure to accomplish this (this appears to be the simplest solution to me)? The solution can be either PL/SQL or JavaScript based. Barring that, is it possible to merge data into PDF form fields before the document is sent to the browser?
    After several hours of searching through Google in general and the Adobe forums in particular, the closest possibilities I can find is XPAAJ or maybe the LiveCycle PDF Generator service that comes with LiveCycle - I'll be researching those approaches to determine their feasibility. In the meantime, suggestions for simpler approaches would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
    Woody

    A quick glance at PDF Generator shows that it doesn't handle document access, only document conversion. XPAAJ looks promising, but appears to require Java programming knowledge to utilize it - we're not a Java shop. I'll investigate further, see if the XPAAJ interface is available to other languages.

  • Advice directory locstion for dynamically generated data

    Hello, My application generates .jpgs from a file consersion, that happens on the user request. For example they click a button on the jsp and the file is converted to a .jpg...
    The problem that I am having is where is the best location in the Tomcat server for the directory to hold the convered .jpgs.
    I put the folder for the converted jpgs in the following structure
    C:\jakarta-tomcat\webapps\myapp\web\conversion\
    However when I come to display the converted .jpgs in a jsp page I cannot get access to the conversion folder which is a sub directory of the web folder... i.e. I just get the missing image icon in the jsp page
    For example
    <img src="https://localhost:8443/myapp/web/conversion/filename.jpg >The jsp cannot find the .jpg in the conversion folder.. The only way that I have been able to display the jpg is by give the absolute path to the .jpgs
    Am I missing a setting somewhere?
    do I need to set permission somewhere?
    or do I need to reference the conversion folder ?
    cheers

    Also if i have the converted .jps in the web folder
    C:\tomcat\webapps\myapp\web\
    everything works great, but I don't want my converted files to be in the same directory aas my .jsps etc, this is why I added the conversion folder
    c:\tomcat\webapps\myapp\web\conversion\
    cheers

  • CFolder with Documentum content server

    Hello,
    We have installed cFolder on WAS which has a RFC connection with ECC6.0 and this ECC6.0 instance uses  Documentum content server. I want to understand , is there any impact in terms of document export/import in between content server and cFolder ? Like in normal scenario where cFolder using SAP content server, we use CFE01 and CFI01 transactions in ECC for document import/export in between back-end system and cFolder, in my case can we use the same transactions for document import/export?
    Please clear my understanding.
    Thanks,
    Avinash

    Hi,
    Cfolders is basically a functionality in the PLM.
    However this can be used in the SRM for the Bidding Scenario.
    The functionality deals with the Creation and maintaining a collaboration room in the Public area by the Buyer so that all his bidders can access and allows the Bidders also to create a collaboration room so that the buyer alone can access.
    On conversion of a successful bid into the PO the PO will have a link to the Cfolders.
    The customizing would be quite simple.
    I am sure you will find a document in the SAP Market Place.
    Thanks

  • Getting disheartened by lack of BB support, big Q10 problems after most recent update!!!

    I am very frustrated and in need of some help.
    I have a Q10 and after the most recent operating system update, multiple things are wrong.
    1. The camera does not work. It makes shutter noise when using the rear facing camera, but does not save any of the pictures.
    2. Will not even let me enable the front facing camera, freezes phone when I try to use it.
    3. Will not let me attach pictures/files to any text message.
    4. Has problem accessing text message conversations that were there prior to update, have had to delete all and start over.
    5. Sends out multiple text messages by its self. resends messages that are days old and jumbles current messages went sent.
    Basically, the phone is not pperating at all like it should. I have on;y had this phone 3 months and after the update, it seems to have ruined it. This is my first BlackBerry in years, I bought it in hopes that they had fixed their previous issues, this doesn't seem to be the case. Was considering upgrading to the Classic, however, I don't think I will unless this gets resolved.
    SOMEONE HELP!!! Thank you in advance.

    There are major problems with the 10.3 update on the Q10.  Many people are downgrading back to 10.2.1 until BB can get their heads out of their arses and fix the issues.

  • What is a good ApplesScript Dictionary resource

    The title says it all....
    I have picked up and read a couple of books on AppleScript and am making progress but am essentially stuck at learning and understanding the AppleScript dictionary...
    I would appreciate someone pointing me in the direction of a good resource which explains -- in detail -- the understanding and use of the AppleScript dictionary.
    Thanks.

    As a first point let me say thank you for taking the time to explain the Dictionary / helping me as this is currently the stumbling block which is keeping me from being more successful in scripting.
    As a second point let me say that I am not a programmer in that I have no formal programming experience or training other than 25 years ago when I was a university student and starting my career.  I was, at that time, extremely proficient in programming in FORTRAN, PASCAL and other language of the day – yes, I am old / older.
    As far as explaining the hurdle or stumbling block that I am running into i) I have done my best noting it was extremely difficult to do via this media and ii) I will use the Messages Dictionary.
    As far as the basics are concerned it is my understanding t—which may be wrong – that:
    A Class – the English equivalent of a noun – is the category or group to which an object belongs.  Classes include dates, integers, list, records, etc.  Objects in in the same class have the same Properties.
    A Command – the English equivalent of a verb – is an action or instruction.  Classes include [b]make, open, save, etc.[/b]
    A Parameter – the English equivalent of an adverb – is an argument or value which more fully explains a Command.  Parameters include save file [b]filename[b], etc.
    A Property – the English equivalent of an adjective – is an attribute or quality of a Class.  Properties include [b]count[/b] of letters, [b]name[/b] of a document, etc.
    As far as the Dictionary is concerned it is my understanding that the leftmost pane lists all the Suites starting with the “Standard Suite”, the “Text Suite”, the application’s general Suite and finally any other groupings. Each Suite groups together related features in the application.
    As far as the Dictionary’s middle pane is concerned it lists the Classes and Commands for the Suite that is highlighted in the leftmost pane.
    As far as the Dictionary’s rightmost pane is concerned it displays the description of the Class or Property that is highlighted in the middle pane. The description of a Class may include the plural form (eg “cells” is the plural of “cell”), a list of Elements (eg a range of cells may contain several rows and columns); a list of Properties (eg each cell has a formula, format and lock value) etc. The description of a Command may include a list of parameters (eg “sort” can specify a reference to the “cell range”, the “orientation” and the “key cell data”), and a result.
    Based on the above understanding – which may or may not be correct so please let me know – let me explain the problem I am having in understanding / using the Dictionary through a real life example because I think this best explains / illustrates the problem.
    I want to write a script that will identify the name of the individuals / people who have sent me a message .
    [b]Step 1[/b] – As the information is contained in the Messages application the script must be contained within a tell block.  This results in the following code:
    tell application "Messages"
    end tell
    [b]Step 2[/b] – As the information is contained in the Messages application the next step is to access the individual conversations that appear in the Messages window.
    I do this by opening the Messages Dictionary’s Messages Suite and scrolling until I find the Chat class (because I believe or think that Chat is synonymous with the conversations).  The Dictionary appears as follows:
    This has me thinking that the next step is to access the Chat which in turn results in the following code:
    tell application "Messages"
           set myChat to chat
    end tell
    This text is incorrect.  The proper coding is:
    tell application "Messages"
           set myChats to chats
    end tell
    [color=red]With that, how am I supposed to know that i) Chat needs to be plural (i.e. Chats) as I see no indication of that in the Dictionary and ii) that Chats contains all the chats (i.e. it is not described as a list)?[/color]
    [b]Step 3[/b] – As I have now accessed the collective conversations (or collective Chats) the next steps are i) to access the individual Chats and ii) to access the participants form the individual Chats.   This first item leads to following intermediate code:
    tell application "Messages"
           set myChats to chats
           repeat with aChat in myChats
           end repeat
    end tell
    I now focus on accessing participants from the individual Chat’s by clicking on Participants in the rightmost pane. The Dictionary appears as follows:
    [color=red] [/color]This is problematic because it tells me that Participants is a list of Buddy but i) provide no guidance on how to access the Participants from the list of Buddy and and iii) provide a link to Buddy.[/color]
    Though I am feeling very confused / lost I decide to click on the buddy link.  The Dictionary appears as follows:
    While studying the Buddy definition I notice that i) Buddy is a class whose properties include “full name”.  I recall that hierarchy is chat -> participants -> buddy. This leads to the following code:
    tell application "Messages"
           set myChats to chats
           repeat with aChat in myChats
                   set ConversationSender to participants of aChat
           end repeat
    end tell
    [color =red] While the above code works it is confusing to me as to why i) Chat needed to be “changed” to Chats (i.e. the plural) while Participants was provided in the plural (i.e. why was Participants not provided in the singular like Chat). The lack of consistency is extremely confusing![/color]
    While this seems to have me on the right path I now need to access Buddy’s “full name”. I think i) aChat contains all the information for a single chat ii) ConversationSender contains all the “list of buddy” for that single chat and iii) because Buddy is a list it needs to be accessed along the lines of “item x of list of buddy”.
    With the above hopefully properly reasoned out I now need to think – what item in the list do I want to access / reference.  With each chat having at least one person I settle on the item 1. This results in the following code which thankfully works:
    tell application "Messages"
           set myChats to chats
           repeat with aChat in myChats
                   set ConversationSender to participants of aChat
                   set ConversationSenderName to full name of item 1 of ConversationSender
           end repeat
    end tell
    [color=red] With the script having run I now think to myself that Dictionary is usable / workable but conclude that this is not the case because i) there was a lot of confusion along the way (i.e. see the red text above) ii) there was the need for a lot of thinking along the ways (i.e. accessing a Class versus accessing a list, recalling hierarchy, etc.).
    Worth also noting is that while I understanding Classes, Commands, Parameters and Properties I am still do not by the Dicionary’s meaning / use of the highlighted references / terms in the below image. [/color]
    I hope the this post gives you enough information to understand the issues / problems I am encountering in working with the Dictionary.
    Again, thank you for all your patience and help.
