Access to iTunes movie rentals from Sweden

Everything about Sweden is great, except for the fact that the iPhone hasn't arrived yet, and that I can't rent movies or TV shows off the Swedish version of the iTunes Store.
Does anybody know how to rent movies from iTunes/ AppleTV in Sweden? Does the new AppleTV circumvent the need to have a US billling address to rent movies? I was hoping that payment by PayPal would allow me to use the US Store, but no luck. It still requires a US billing address.
Another thought I had was a Swedish credit card that is accepted by the US store. Does anyone know of one?
All workarounds are greatly appreciated.

Sorry, there is not workaround. The US store is the only store with movie rentals. In order to purchase from any country's store, you must have a credit card with an attached billing address from that country. Gift cards & certificates will not work as they must be used within the country of purchase & also require a billing address within the country.

  • Can I transfer an iTunes movie rental from one computer to another?

A movie I rented on one PC with iTunes Windows won't transfer to my main PC.  I'm using the latest version of iTunes and Windows 7.
I also have an iPhone 4s with iOS 6.  I can't transfer the movie rental there either.
(I want the movie on my main PC, because only that PC will show it on my TV.  Both PC's are suthorized.
    Help!

Sorry, but rentals cannot be transferred from one computer to another. Unless someone's found a trick I haven't seen, if you want the rental on your main PC, you'll have to pay to rent it again. As to transferring the rental to your iPhone, see:

  • Moving an iTunes Movie Rental from one computer to another

    How do I do it?
When I try to play it on the second computer, I get the message:
"Cannot play rental because it is authorized for playback on another computer or device." or similar.
    Thanks!

According to the documentation I found today... after a lot of digging.
"You can only play your rented movies on the computer you rented it from and only if it is authorized to play your iTunes Store purchases and rentals."
This is an extremely bad user experience. I now have 2 rentals on my work mac that I can't play at home as I intended. Didn't anyone think that users would download with their fastest network? Users should be abel to play rentals on of their five authorized machines. I was considering an iTV setup, not any more.
And watching a movie on an iPhone... what a waste!

  • HT1657 AppleTV recognized iTunes movie rental from iMac but wouldn't play

Last night I rented a movie from my iMac, hoping to watch from AppleTV. I've done this before. AppleTV recognized the rental but just wouldn't play it. I'm crazy busy right now but had a window of time and energy last night. I'm not sure I have time to watch withiin 30 days. Can I get a refund?

  • International Access to iTune Movie Store

We will be traveling to France next month and staying in a hotel with wi-fi. Will I be able to access the iTunes movie rentals area on my iPad, select, rent and view movies while abroad?

Yes you will be able to - but ...
terms of use require you to be in the country where your iTMS account is located.
So, renting, purchasing from abroad won't be allowed ...

  • Moving Movie Rentals from one computer to another

Is there a way to transfer an iTunes movie rental from one computer to another. I purchased it on one laptop but wish to play the movie on another laptop. It does not show up in the list on the other computer even though it is a shared laptop

Sorry, but transferring a rental from one computer to another is not possible, at least not directly. It might be possible by transferring the rental to an iPod/iPhone and then transferring back to the second computer, though I don't know for sure.

  • Movie rentals from the iTunes store

    Hi everyone,
I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes after hearing about movie rentals from the iTunes store. After the install (which installed cleanly), I went to the movie section and do not see an option to rent any movies.
Am I missing something? Is there a different place or section that I need to be in to rent movies?
    Has anyone else noticed this?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks!
    Don

I don't think that movie rentals are available yet on iTunes or Apple TV. Note the "Movie Rentals, Coming Soon" on the blue circle next to the tv at http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=br owse&mco=7B723644&node=home/shopipod/family/appletv
and rentals will be available on iTunes, it says it on the new features list

  • When you download from your IPAD a movie rental from ITUNES-where do you go to find it?

When you download a movie rental from the ITUNES app. on my IPAD-how do you find the movie rental to be able to watch?not under video,purchases,movies-?

If you don't find it in the Videos App look in the iPod App as well. If you still can't find it, from your home screen, swipe to the right to bring up the Spotlight search feature. Type in the name of the movie. If the movie appears - tap it and it should begin to play.

  • HT1577 Why am I experiencing long download times for an HD movie rental from itunes?

I have been experiencing long download times for movie rentals from itunes (this time 11 hours).  I have even tried to use ethernet, turn off simultaneous downloads, and shut down my browser, to speed up the time but that didn't help.  My internet download speed is about 7mbps.  Any suggestions?

  • Problems downloading and watching first movie rental from iTunes

I wanted to try renting a movie through iTunes tonight and it has been constant problems on my Windows 7 64-but PC home theater PC with iTunes 10.5.  I was going to rent it through Amazon Video on Demand, but they didn't offer the movie in HD on a PC (I would need a Ruku box, Tivo or Blu Ray player to get Amazon Video in HD).  I have used Amazon SD and Netflix HD streaming on the PC with no issues, so it is not normal to have problems streaming video with this PC or the internet connection here.
The iTunes download was indicating it will take 2 hours and I let it buffer about 30 minutes on my 15Mb connection.  Over 1 gig is cached.
I can only play the movie a few minutes at a time before the movie playback and download both stop with unknown error -39 and I have to manually resume the download every few minutes and restart the movie or else  iTunes freezes completely and I have to kill it and restart it and I have also rebooted the PC.
The 24 hour rental countdown has already started since I have already attempted to start watching the movie and it doesn't look like I'm even going to have time to finish watching the movie now.  Every time iTunes crashes and I relaunch it, I now have to re-enter my iTunes password just to get into iTunes.
This has been a complete nightmare and waste of time and waste of the $4.99 rental fee.
Are there any fixes to these issues?

I waited for the download to complete and now when I play the movie there is no sound!!
The movie had sound before even though I could only play a few minutes of the movie at a time.
I have sound everywhere else on the PC including the music in iTunes.  Only the movie playback has no sound.
I have tried rebooting, reinstalling iTunes and I even installed Quicktime because an old thread about iTunes movie rentals playing with no sound suggested installing Quicktime separately, but it has not helped.
This is a very poor experience renting movies through iTunes.

  • Can I watch an iTunes movie rental on a TV connected via mini displayport?

I'm not sure if there's been any headway with this, but I've got a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor on the way that I'm going to use to connect my MacBook Pro to my HDTV, effectively using the TV as an external monitor.
And of course, I want to watch some iTunes movie rentals on the TV instead of my laptop, but digging around the internet has shown that I might be facing an issue relating to the HDCP standard that would prevent me from being able to use my TV in this manner.
Is this still an issue? I have a fall 2009 MacBook Pro, which may be important, as I've read that Apple modified the mini displayport on the MacBooks in 2010.
Other than renting a movie as a sort of guinea pig with the possibility of being shot down and wasting my money, is there any way to know if this is going to work? Or is it simply a fact that any monitor/TV connected to my MacBook through the mini displayport is incompatible with HDCP, and I'm totally out of luck?
(Which, FYI Apple, is utter horse **** and is absolutely counter-productive to the notion of encouraging me to pay for digital entertainment.)
    What are your thoughts, folks?

If your HDTV is HDCP compliant, you probably will have no problems. But you might want to read this information which while written a while back still, to the best of my knowledge, applies:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/16488
HDCP compliance is, from what I've read, rather a "rubber ruler" so even if your TV lists as being HDCP, it might or might not work correctly with your Mac. Testing with one movie first might avoid an expensive surprise.
As to your complaint to Apple, it probably wasn't up to Apple but instead was forced on them as part of the conditions by the content owners for licensing movies and shows to the iTunes Store. But feel free to comment to Apple via their feedback pages:
