Access to Palm data after re-creation of user ID in Win XP Pro

Hi,
I am using Win XP Pro on my laptop. I had installed Palm Desktop under my user id e.g "ajitshah". Due to  problem with user profile not functioning correctly, my administrator recreated user profile "ajitshah".
Now I am able to access all other programs except Palm - unable to access palm desktop or carry out Hotsync operations. Is there any ways to access my Palm data and carryout Hot Sync operations?
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Ajit Shah

  • Can I access WorkFlow Container Data After Archiving?

    Hello .....
I am tasked to Archive thousands of old WorkFlows that are cluttering up our system and are beginning to cause performance issues.
I have managed to Archive some WorkFlows in our DEV system with Tcode SARA.
My question is .... Can I still access container data for Archived WF's?  I can see logs that indicate successful Archive but our Managers still want to be able to see the container data.  is it possible or is it gone?  tahnk you in advance.

    Hello,
Your archiving isn't successful until you've tested it out - and answered your own question.
But as far as I can recall (I'll check) - yes, the container values are present. So far I haven't been able to find anything that was missing.

  • Accessing DLL buffer data after receiving Windows Message

    Hi,
I am programming MS4404 bar code scanner using LabVIEW. This is a miniscan and does not have trigger button. So we need to trigger it using Software.
Could communicates with scanner to enable. disable, beep, etc....issue is with the decoded data.
DLL put data in the allocated buffer, and send a windows message WM_XXXX to application. Problem is to check these windows messages and copy the buffer data into application..............struck up here..........There was an example for this scanner but that is in VC and it is using ON_MESSAGE function to catch windows message and memcpy() to copy buffer data into local.........................Not sure how to go ahead in LabVIEW
Appreciate any help from fellow members...........
    Thanks in advance

    Little advancement in the issue......
I am able to capture windows messages using Windows messages queue library (found on ni.com), Now the issue is with creating buffer for DLL and pulling data from that DLL on successfull Decode of data from scanner.
I think I am going wrong in giving cirrect data type while creating buffer here.
Below is the description of the function from manual
    SSIDLL_API int __stdcall SetDecodeBuffer(int nComPort, unsigned char *pData, long max_length);
    where:
. nComPort is the COM port number used in the call to SSIConnect. pData is a pointer to the destination buffer for decode data returned from the scanner
. max_length is the size in bytes of the destination buffer
I am sure I am going wrong about the pData parameter.
I need to create this buffer before decoding, so the scanner fills this buffer with decoded data.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • BSoD after installing Boot Camp 3.0 into Win 7 Pro x64

I installed Windows 7 Professional x64 into the partition created by the Boot Camp Assistent (3.0.4), the whole windows setup worked just fine and finished as usual. Then, after the final reboot to finish the windows setup I installed the Boot Camp software and drivers from my 10.6 DVD. The setup finished and promted me to restart the system - no problems so far. But just as Windows rebooted and was about to show the desktop, it crashed with with a BSoD providing no precise imfomation as to which driver could have caused it.
I have re-installed Windows and Boot Camp about ten times now, and no matter what I tried, the result always remained the same.
I booted in Safe Mode and tried to update to Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.2, but near the end of the setup it shows that Keyagent and MacHAL could not be installed (Setup said the Updates were installed successfully though).
When I rebooted Windows normally it was still the same - BSoD just when the desktop was about to be shown.
I have absolutely no idea what causes this. The BSoD only shows a hex-code, but I wasn't able to write it down since it disappears too quick and I don't know how to 'pause' using the integrated keyboard.
    • Computer is a MBP mid '09 running 10.6.8 with all updates
    • Boot Camp version is 3.0
    • Provided drivers on the Snow Leopard DVD are for XP and Vista/Vista x64 only, but since the setup completes without any error message I assume those Vista drivers are OK
    • Windows - as stated above - is a 7 Professional x64
So, does anyone have an idea what might be the problem and/or how to solve this issue?
If any possibly useful information missing please ask and I'll add them.
    Thanks in advance

Well, at least my Windows won't boot after renaming them to *.sys.old.
But anyway, these two drivers aren't the cause, instead it's actually BootCamp.exe and/or the trackpad or keyboard drivers.
This guy had the exact same problem and the 'solution' was to disable BootCamp.exe.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/10301692#10301692
I finally managed to install all Boot Camp updates but still nothing has changed; as soon as I launch BootCamp.exe or change settings for the trackpad the system crashes.
It seems I have two options now: Use Windows without "Tap to click", "Secondary Tap" and modified keyboard settings, or find suitable trackpad/keyboard drivers.
Speaking of which, is there any chance to get Boot Camp drivers for Win 7? Maybe this would solve my problem since I only have Vista/x64 drivers which I used for Win 7.
    Thanks!

  • Is anyone else seeing memory leak/resource hogging in 3.6.15 -process fails to terminate after shutting it down, 170M memory usage, win xp pro

Running xp pro (up to date on updates)
if I leave firefox open for a while, then shut it down and later start it up I am told it is already running, looking at processes shows the process is indeed still showing with over 170M of memory usage (excessive).
Nothing odd was open, no adobe etc (adobe X is a whole 'nother issue )

I have the same problem (Firefox got up to a staggering 1.3GB of RAM!).
Well, I've managed to "fix" it (until it is fixed in Firefox itself) by a RAM optimizer.
I use Smart RAM, which is a small but great tool from the Utilities section in [http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html Advanced SystemCare], which got Firefox down to only 20MB of RAM.

  • Authorisation: controlling access to objects/data

    Hi all,
I am looking for some pointers to design patterns that deal with authorisation.
The issue at hand is the following: for an enterprise application we need to implement a mechanism that manages user-access to certain data. Example: if a user asks for sales-figures, only the data that he/she is allowed to see (e.g. based on office) should be included in the result.
The question that we asks ourselves is: do we set up a separate authorisation manager (sessionbean) that includes all the business logic to restrict user-access, or do we make the specific objects (entity beans) responsible for this.
The latter solution would take the form of: entitybean Office, getSalesFigures(Year, User) method; based on the User object access is granted or not. The method will return 0 if the user has no access.
    Feedback is appreciated.

    Hi,
    The Composite View pattern http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/CompositeView.html
has some discussion about applying security based on user roles.
    Also the Intercepting Filter pattern
    http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/InterceptingFilter.html
can be used to apply security checks. The Java petstore applies this pattern for self-registration of users, and this is explained in more detail at
http://java.sun.com/blueprints/patterns/InterceptingFilter.html which includes an explantion of the pattern being applied, and also a link the details of its implementation at
    http://java.sun.com/blueprints/guidelines/designing_enterprise_applications_2e/sample-app/sample-app1.3.1a3.html#wp1065478
These should give you a good starting point for designing role based security. The petstore used a seperate module for security because it was allowing self-registration of users. If your application does not allow users to create and manage their own user accounts(like yahoo mail etc) and instead all accounts are set up administratively(someone in the company sets up each user account), then the J2EE platform may provide the capabilities you require and you may not need to write a separate module.
The J2EE programming model also has a lot of support for role based security. So you may be able to leverage the J2EE environment to do much of the work for you. The J2EE security model is described in the security chapter of the BluePrints book at
    http://java.sun.com/blueprints/guidelines/designing_enterprise_applications_2e/index.html
    hope that helps,
    Sean

  • Access NAST table immediately after creation of sales order (va01)

    Hi All,
I want to access the nast data for the newly created sales order from va01. I tried to use program exits:
    userexit_save_document and userexit_save_documnr_prepare
and plu the BADI BADI_SD_V46H0001 method EXIT_SAPLV46H_003.
the breakpoint is not stoping there even if I have given.
Please suggest any enhancements are there for such functionality.
    The flow is like this.:
when user clicks on the save button after entering the data for sales order creation, the email/fax will be send to the contact persons for the output type and I want to update the nast table DATVR entry so that it will be marked as processed entry.
    rgds
    Madhuri

I am not sure what you want, but I think it is not  the right way to realize the flow.
When a sales order is saved, the process of issuing output will be handled by another program RSNAST00 (T_CODE: WE15)immediately or via a scheduled job due to output configuration , and the nast table will be updated at the same time. i think there is no need to update the nast table by yourself.

with V11 at least 1 row must have been INSERT into table.

  • Keeping orginal creation date after editing a photo

In Photoshop, Does anyone know how do I keep the shot/creation date after editing/adjusting a photograph in order to keep hundreds of images in a chronological order? I am combining files with a second shooter on an event an the timeline is essential.

Hmmm you might have a point.  I can see that tag in Bridge, but in Windows 7 Explore, that tag is not turned on by default.  Right clicking a column heading gives you the option of turning on any of about 50 column headings.  When I turned on the 'Date taken' column earlier the EXIF was there and correct.  Looking at some of my edits just now, the Date created tags are OK, but the date taken tags are not showing for the psd and save as files.  The date created tags for the RAW files show the time they card was uploaded to the computer.
It's not a big deal though.  As the questions are being asked in the Photoshop forum, all anyone has to do is sort them in Bridge (which does retain the Date Taken tag), and Batch rename with a number prefix.

  • Missing Keychain Access data after repair.

    Hey!
I encountered hardware problems and took the 2012 MacBook Pro 13-inch, and had it fixed.
But after I got back the device, a great deal  of my essential data stored in Keychain Access are missing, mostly, website credentials.
I'm sure the data should be stored on the hard drive, but can't figure out how to access/restore that data, so please let me know if you know a way.
The MacBook uses OS X Mavericks 10.9.4.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately the backups I have predate the information I need. Seems like hardware change will affect the Key Chain Access.

  • Can't access my data after restoring

I had the Seagate Hard Drive on my iMac replaced.  The Apple Store restored the original Snow Leopard system.  I used Migration Assistant to restore files. It  prompted me to create new user name.  It restored Applications under one user name and Desktop, Documents, Photos, etc under different one, and now won't give me access to my data.  What can I do?  Thanks in advance!

When you boot from a Snow Leopard DVD, you answer a few questions like langauge...and finally get to the installation screen.  On the top menu line are some utilities.  You select disk utility and erase the volume you are going to install to.  When it is complete, you can quit disk utility and continue on with the installation.  You will reach a point where it asks if you want to transfer your data from a disk or other mac..  This is where you select disk and then select your external drive.
All your data will come over.  When it is done, reboot and run software update.  There will probably be a gigabyte of stuff waiting for you (like 10.6.8).
I assume all your stuff is on an external disk.

  • How to get access to Row Data (Child Text) in a Tree Control Pragmatically?

In LabVIEW 2010, I have entered Row Data into a Tree Control pragmatically using the Add Item method and providing the Child Text array and the Child Tag for the Row. When a Row in the Tree Control is selected, I can get the Row Tag in the Value Property of the Tree. But how do I access the Child Text array data when the Row is selected? I can't seem to find a Tree Control Property or Method that will return that data back again.
What I am trying to do is: once a Row in a Tree is selected and a button is pushed, if the Row Tag is valid, I want to transfer all of the Row data into another similarly formatted Tree. To do that I need the Row Data for the Tree and Row that was selected. I can not find a way to get access to this Row Data after it has been entered into the Tree.
Can anyone tell me how to pragmatically access the Child Text or Row Data in a Tree Control from a selected Row in the Tree? I have the Tag for the Row, but how do I access the data?
    Thanks for your assistance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As mentioned in the posting here, you can use the Active Item:Tag property to set the item to which subsequent property changes apply. This includes pulling the Active Celltring values out in a for loop as you increment the Active Cell:Active Column Number to get the row's Child Text data programmatically as I was originally wanting to do.
Note that wiring a 0 to the ActiveColNum property and reading the String value will return the tree item's visible name (in column 0), but not the unique item Tag (which is somewhat intangible after its creation). Therefore, I save the unique item tag when I add the item to the tree control (the output of the Add Item invoke node) and store it as a separate column of the Child Text array and place it out of sight in the tree control so I have access to it later. It might be useful, it might not.
I find the tree control totally non-intuitive and not well explained anywhere, but that's how a lot of LabVIEW coding is I guess. Play with it long enough and you become an expert. I had to learn the hard way, but I hope this helps someone else.

  • Unable to access time machine backups after creating new user profile

    Hi,
I had visited the Genius Bar with some problems with iTunes not opening. The Genius had indicated that I likely had some corrupt files and that the easiest fix would be to create a new user profile... So we did...
After transferring all my data over to the new profile and setting everything back up as I like I deleted the old (presumably corrupt) user profile. To my dismay I no longer have access to any of my time machine backups that were created prior to setting up my new user profile... They appear to still all be there. However, I am unable to select any of the dates prior to the new user profile's creation and the deletion of the old profile...
    Please help...
    Thank in advance,
    Des

That's correct. What you see in Time Machine's "Star Wars" display depends on what you have the Finder window set to. While looking at the new profile, you can't see any backups that were done before it existed.
You're right, they're still there, for now, but are grayed-out in the timeline at the right, because what's in the Finder window wasn't backed-up then.
If you select your internal HD or Computer Name in the sidebar, you'll be able to see those backups.
But since they're for a different user, you won't be able to view inside that home folder or restore from it -- one user, even an Admin user, doesn't normally have access to a different user's data.
It's doubtful, but you might be able to create a new user with exactly the same name as the one you deleted, log on to it, and see if the old backups appear.
