I keep getting the above message when I try to access BC and update my website. What am I doing wrong?

Is this issue still active? If so, are you getting this on any browser? Any OS? Any network? Please provide the URL of the site you're getting this on. Is it only on this particular website?

Error -50 Please check that network connectivity is active

I ran the diagnostics and everything was fine. I made sure my itunes was up to date. I restarted my computer. I tried to download a song from the itunes store and had no problems, but the newest episode of the vampire diaries (I have a season pass) won't download.

You can turn all of them back on by selecting the Normal Startup option under the General tab of the System Configuration Utility window, but please note that this may cause the issue to reoccur.
If you are able to isolate the issue to a particular third-party software, you may wish to contact them to let them know of the conflict.

TS4268 "Face time Activation: Could not sign in . Please check you network connection and try again"

I always get this message when I try to activate facetime on my Ipod.The internet connection at home is fine and am able to surf through web pages etc. I went through the complete troubleshooting provided by Apple but in vain. There is no restictions or firewall.

- Go to Settings>General>Time&Date and make sure it is set to Automatic
- Go to Settings>wifi>the connected network and change the DNS to Google's 8.8.8.8

Okay, so i've tried to download it multiple times with multiple "solutions" but none have worked! I'm starting to get SO mad.. and aggravated. I just want this stupid update to update! I've disabled my anti virus and firewall while trying to update too.. no luck. I even downloaded the ios 5 manually from a site, but i dont know how to use that as my download. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. When I try to use FaceTime on my Macbook Air, I try to verify the email I want people to call me with, and it says verified, but soon an message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."

So our school lets us use Macbook Airs for the school year, and it has facetime on it. I know facetime isn't blocked because like everyone else is using it. So I decide to give it a try. I click the icon, it says enter your apple ID. I dont have one, so I click to make one, and do so. I then enter my apple ID and click next. The screen reads "People will call you using your email address. What email address would you like to use?" I enter my email address in the box below the message, and then go to my email and click the link, and sign in, thus verifying the email. I go back to the facetime window, and click next. At the top it says Verified, but when I click next it doesn't go on to the next step, it simply blacks out the next button so that I can not click it, and after a few minutes a message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
So that is the issue, please help!!!!!
*Note-I repeat that I know it is not blocked by the school because everyone else uses it just fine.*

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

I have a quick wifi connection (Mac shows it as about 35 megabits) but I couldn't get the 5.0.1 OTA to work, I had to do it via cable to my computer's iTunes - and as I was already on iOS 5 it was only a small download, basically the same size as the OTA size.
As the original poster is talking about a 730 meg download then I assume that they are still on iOS 4.3.5 or below and can therefore only download via their computer's iTunes - you need to be on iOS 5+ before you get the OTA option.

I've had the same problem for the last two weeks. Finally resolved the issue in Windows 7.
Go to start button, control panel, system & security, windows firewall. On the left side of the box click on "advanced settings." On the left side of the box again click on "Inbound Rules." You should be able to see iTunes under the name category. Make sure it has a green check mark next to it. If it does not, then double click on the name. In the "general" box which comes up open, click "Allow the Connection." That worked for me. Somehow itunes was blocked but now I can access the itunes store again.
