Access webcam on 4510L
Help, I've got a wifi webcam configured/attached to the 4510L. I also have my laptop configured/attached to the 4510L. I've got the webcam configured as a static address (192.168.1.52), and it shows up in the LAN tab of the 4510L control webpage. I've got a dyn-dns account, and when I go into that account, it tells me I'm attached as a TCP number of 166.250.111.167. I get the same TCP number from my Windows 7 laptop and my Android (ICS) phone. I've tried both port-forwarding in the config page (HTTP (Web) Server, which is presumably port 80), and downloading the config XML file and changing the DMZ section to '1' (on), and the TCP address of 192.168.1.52, and then uploading that config file.
Is what I'm trying to do possible? Presumably Verizon is supporting this kind of activity, else why would the port-forwarding section be presented? The 'WWAN' numbers of 10.164.142.25 seem like a 'local/NATed' IP address... How do I access the webcam from the internet?
Thanks,
Kirby
Kirby,
Accessing the webcam over the internet will not be possible due to the NAT used on the 4G LTE network. All LTE devices appear to be this way. Since the MiFi 4510L is an LTE device it will always have an issue providing a public IP address to your computer and personal devices. Port forwarding will not help as we have discovered in numerous threads. You cannot port forward on a local/private IP address like 10.x.x.x.
The only work around is to purchase a static IP from VZW for several hundred dollars. That or downgrade to a MiFi 2200 which is on the old GSM network and can provide public IP addresses. Even the old network has a few NAT segments built into it now, but atleast you can reboot those devices until they pull a good public IP. Hopefully this will change over time as VZW realizes how many webcam users there are.

Adobe Flash Player Plugin crashes in ALL browsers while accessing webcam
Hi,
I am struggling to get my adobe flash player plug-in working while accessing webcam.
It simply crashes in all browsers. I googled this issue and realized many users are facing this issue.
However I did not get any solution to fix this. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling plug-in multiple times but of no use.
Following are specifications:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32 Bit) SP3
Browsers: Internet Explorer (8.0), Chrome (8.0), Mozilla Firefix (3.0)
Webcam: Dell monitor inbuilt webcam
Flash Player version: 10,1,102,64
Please note, the webcam is accessible through other applications (e.g. Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, Windows Explorer)
Also, Adobe Flash player doesn’t give any trouble while playing streaming videos on YouTube etc.
Trouble is only when flash player tries to access webcam through any browser (eg. while "Record from Webcam" on YouTube)
An interesting observation I like to note here, the device list that appears in the plug-in window is blank for both video/audio devices (See the area encircled RED in the image below)
Not sure, but just suspecting could this be potential reason for crash?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
StrugglerHello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
2. Click Deny then Close to close it
3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
Thanks,

Hi guys,
I wanna create an applet that just takes a snapshot image from the user's webcam, so I wouldn't like to tell the user to install JMF first. Does anyone know if it's possible to access the webcam from a standard JRE, if yes than how? Any link or anything else would be greatly appreciated, since anything I found on the net was based on JMF...I can only point you to the demo download from the above, which I can run in Windows to identify more than one webcam. This includes a java demo and jmf demo, with source, and these may help you.

Miix 2 8 - Blue Screen of Death when accessing webcam(s)
Hi Lenovo!
I have a Miix 2 8". When I open one of the camera apps, the device can lock up and bluescreen, with the BAD_POOL_HEADER error. This happens once in a while. I have the automatic mini memory dump (C:\Windows\minidump) when it happened, I can provide this if you contact me on my e-mail I registered with (or you can give me ways to contact you directly).
The Dell Venue 8 Pro also had this problem but they allegedly patched it with a recent BIOS update. No BIOS updates are available for the Miix 2 8" at this time.
Regards,
ikt1 Go into the Control Panel by long-pressing the Windows button in the down left corner of the Desktop.
2 Select SYSTEM and then DEVICE MANAGER.
3 In the Device Manager expand the Imaging Devices and double tap the Intel Imaging Signal Processor to open the properties for the device. Then go to the Driver tab.
4 If the driver date isn't October 2013 tap the ROLL BACK DRIVER button and follow the instructions. -

On the Add Port Forwarding Rule page, in the Protocol pull-down, are you selecting "HTTP" or "User Defined" from the list?
If your web cam is on port 80, then you should simply select "HTTP" from the protocols list.
If your web cam is on other than port 80, then you should select "user defined", which will take you to the Edit Service page.
At this point you would give the service a name (e.g. "Web Cam") and select New Server Ports. This will take you to the the Edit Service Server Ports page. This is the page that has the Protocol pull-down with TCP, UDP, etc. Select TCP. For source port, select single, then enter the external port on the router where you want the web cam to be visible. For Destination, select single, then enter the port number of the web cam. Click OK and return to the Edit Service page. Click OK again, you should be back to the Add Port Forwarding Rule page. Now you can select the "Web Cam" entry you created from the Protocols pull-down. -
RDP - WebCam cannot be found [Microsoft LifeCam]
Hi,
I can't seem to use my webcam [Life Cam HD] when on RDP in a domain environment using the same domain account, but if i'm on Logmein then no problems, any specific reason behind this? any restrictions involved?
Thanks in Advance
AlaineHi Alaine,
Do you get any error message?
When you use Webcam with the Remote Desktop, make sure you enable Remote Desktop Connection on both the computers. You can use devices and resources that are on or part of my computer, such as my printer, hard disk, or Clipboard, while I'm connected to a
remote computer. Check the settings for the device.
In order to access webcam from the remote computer user might have to use a Third Party software.
As I know, redirection of a webcam is supported when using full RemoteFX VDI capability, but this requires that you have all of the necessary software and hardware to enable full RemoteFX, on both the server as well as client side.
For your reference: Introducing Microsoft RemoteFX USB Redirection: Part 1
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2010/06/10/introducing-microsoft-remotefx-usb-redirection-part-1.aspx
It also seems that some files are corrupted. You may try to reinstall Webcam for Remote Desktop Server for a try.
Hope it helps.

Imaging devices option is not available in my device manager itself.
There should be a white sticker on the bottom side of your laptop and there it should say Part Number.

Netgear STORA access crashes Adobe flash player plugin
Hi,
I am having trouble accessing my Netgear 'STORA' NAS with firefox.
The 'STORA' uses '''Adobe flash player '''(firefox plugin) as a base for the internet 'landing page' it uses for log in.
Each time I try to access the device over the net with firefox, I get a report that the plugin container for firefox has stopped working then, on the firefox page, it reports that the plugin has crashed.
I have used various machines over my LAN to try to access the 'STORA' with firefox:
Desktop - Win 7 home premium 64bit (main machine)
Laptop - Win 7 home 32 bit
Laptop - Win Vista (home!) 32bit
Also, I have had family and friends try to access the 'STORA' over the net with firefox from the UK (home country) and from Germany.
All report that they cannot access the device as plugin crashes.
All machines tried can access the 'STORA' via MS IE browser!
All machines at home are up to date regards firefox, Adobe flash player and OS versions / updates and I am assured this is true for the other machines too. And all machines are more than adequate to run respective os and programs etc.
On my main machine (see list) I used fire fox 'about:config' to negate the associated timer for the plugin as suggested on the mozilla site:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/The+Adobe+Flash+plugin+has+crashed?style_mode=inproduct#Disable_hang_protection
Doing this had no noticable affect on performance and the adobe flash player plugin still crashed.
I have informed Netgear of the issue some time ago and have no reply. When I tried to inform Adobe a few days ago, the bug report facility failed and I could not get back into it.
Firefox is my preferred browser and I would like to use it to access the 'STORA'.
Any help would be appreciated!

WVC54GCA. Seutp utility can't locate camera on network
I just bought the camera today. Went through each step of the setup. When I connect the camera, blue light flashes and then becomes steady. But then I get a message that says "The setup utility was unabel to locate the wireless-g internet home monitoring camera on your network." I've gone through those instructions several times, told it to search again, but it never finds it. My router is a Linksys WRT54G. I'd appreciate any ideas anybody may have. Thanks

If it is not detected using the setup CD, then you can configure it manually. Access the setup page of the camera and configure it via the setup page. The wireless settings should be the same with the wireless settings of your router.

Flash Player crashes when accessing my webcam
Hello,
I am using about 20 different HP Elitepad 900 G1 tablets (all 32 bit OSes). On each one, when signing into MegaMeeting and being prompted to access the webcam, IE stops responding. When I try the same thing in Firefox, it states that Flash Player has encountered an error and to reload the page, which it then promptly encounters the same error.
I have confirmed that I have the most up to date flash player, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, updating my drivers and confirmed that on another Flash based site (Chatroulette) that the error occrus, as well as confirmed that the camera app (Windows 8.0) and Skype both function just fine with the web cam.
At this point, I am at a loss because beyond this, there are no problems utilizing flash for the meeting, just that they cannot join with voice/video and that is the point of the meetings.
Posted below are the DXDIAG files as well as the version of flash that I have installed, and I am just looking for some assistance in confirming what I can do to get this working.
Thank you all very much!

<media source CLSID>Finally found the issue, but unfortunately I am not sure if this will help in your particular case, since you are using a 3rd party software. You can however contact the developer with this information and hopefully they can send you a patch.
The default size of the Camera object in Flash is 160x120, but this resolution seems to be too low for the Intel driver. Additionally, if the Width property is smaller than the Height property (portrait mode), it seems to also cause the crash.
In our application, we simply resized the camera object to 640x400 and it solved our problem.
Before calling the Camera object, a simple line of code can be added:
Camera.setMode(640x400,15,true);
and it resolved the issue on the Dell Venue 8 Pro and Acer W4.
I hope this helps solving your problem! -
Creative Live wireless webcam - DDNS or any other outside access doesn't work
Bought the Creative Live Wireless webcam. Works inside my network, but DDNS server offered by Creative has been down for weeks now, so I can't use this service. The remote IP access also does not work, since the webcam doesn'y assign a remote IP (it states 0.0.0.0).
No support infor on Creative web page at all, they don't even list the product. I feel like this is all a big scam....
Can anyone provide insight in how to the this product to work?Did you get an auto response to your e-mail? Once a request arrives a response goes out automatically. If you didn't get that, check your spam filter first as the reply may be stuck there.
If for some reason you did not receive any response at all, please send me a PM with your contact details. I will have someone look into your issue.

I dont have the original install and/or back up DVDs. Is there any way to access my webcam without the photobooth app, and how can i get the photobooth app?
There's no place to download Photobooth. It's only available on the system install discs. Are you sure it's not in the Trash Can? Have you done a search of your hard drive? You should be able to retrieve it from your backup hard drive. You do have a backup don't you?

No Hassle Sinlge Frame Access From WebCam
Does anyone have a READABLE solution? The example given in JMF solutions is far to complicated for someone new to JMF. What about the first way of doing the frame access? Can I just treat the output buffers from my webcam datasource as frames? The JMF docs say that a codec can operate in frame-based or non-frame-based modes. How is this set/checked? The example also swaps the input and output buffer. Is this necessary? Then it simply appears to use the buffer as a frame. I'm still in early development ATM so I can't test this. I'm sure it works OK but it doesn't actually show how to turn that buffer into an image, or define under what circumstances it's possible.
I'm a little disappointed with learning curve for this part of Java, but I guess it's not as widely used as the rest of the language. It's all very well to show the hard way of doing things - i learned a fair bit pulling it apart - but teasing me by telling me there's another way and then not showing it is unfair! :-)
Any code would be greatly appreciated from some of you veterans out there.
Thanks very much in advance,
Aaron Oxford (JSPWebTech)
[email protected]I am not sure I understand your question, but to get an image from a webcam in a java application, you can use the Java Twain from http://www.gnome.sk

Warning: iPhoto 08 Makes it Too Easy to Delete Entire Library
This is just a warning to everyone else since it happened to me this morning. I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto library because my roommate stupidly placed the icon "iPhoto Library" into the trashcan, and this morning I emptied the trashcan. I
