Accessing a guided procedure as an iView

I know I can use a URL (or webdynpro) iView to access a GP directly but I am wondering if it is possible to supress the addation GP information (like the Process Activites and GP header and the attachments and just have the main portion of the GP run.
We are looking to use this for modeling BP for a customer facing portal and do not really need them to see the other data.
Cheers,
D.

GP View is technically a portal page comprise of many iviews(like header iview, process activities vie etc). You can find this page(called process instance) in portal content administartion UI. Once you find, you can just uncheck the visibility of header, activity etc on the page layout.

  • API for access of guided procedure from ABAP / WebDyn: change/read status

    Hallo together,
I'm very new to guided procedure and have some questions about possible interaction between WebDynpro ABAP and Portal guided procedures (UWL ?)
is it possible to access a guided procedure or their attributes from WebDynpro ABAP? What are the relevant key attributes (ID's) to do so?
Is is possible to change the status of a guided procedures f.e. from "completed" to "ready" from outside, let say WebDynpro ABAP? for the purpose of a monitor for mgrs.
    - possible szenario is a manager says: "no, not well done" go back to start and do it again !
    - another szenario: guided procedure is "running" and should be set to "completed"
    Any hint will be helpfull
    Thanx very much in advance
    regards Hans

    Hi Hans,
There is a good and a bad news regarding APIs for GP and ABAP Web Dynpro and GP:
The good news is that you can find [here|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/gp/index.html] the APIs for GP.
The bad news is that the cooperation capabilities between GP and ABAP Web Dynpro are restricted in a certain way. One can use a ABAP Web Dynpro in GP as callable object, but GP is only capable to transport parameter values from GP to the UI but not vice versa. In many cases one needs a solution where the ABAP Web Dynpro UI accepts user inputs and forwards them to the GP context. This is not supported.

  • Using FLEX Visual Composer iViews in Guided Procedures and the UWL

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to display a GP workitem and I am getting this error
"The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available."
I have a GP Process and it haves FLEX Visual Composer iView, it runs fine un the Runtime workbench from Guided procedures Role, but when I configure de GP UWL Connector and try to open a GP workitem with a VC FLEX iView i got the error "The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available."  Guided procedures with webdynpro iView works fine.
    I have a NW 7.0 SP10
Could you please help me undertand what configuration I am missing??

  • Extract in a iview Guided Procedures

    Hello Experts!!
I want to know if is possible to extract a procedure from the Guided Procedures to view it alone in a separate iView. It is possible? Like Mainteinance Processes.
    Regards

What I mean is show Maintain Processes (that is a standard link into the Administration iview "SAP Standard") in a separated iview in order that the administrator only can see that.
I don´t know wich process is called in that link or if is calling a SAP transaction. Maybe someone who has access to the webdynpro can see the what is called in that link??

  • Creation of Vendor in MDM  using Guided Procedure ...SDA not found

    Hi All,
We are trying to create Master data Using Guided Procedure.
After deploying MDM components on Portal we are able to see the standard iViews provided by SAP on Portal.
We are using the following PDF to create the scenario.

According the PDF we have to deploy following two sda on the portal server to see the GP callable Object.
    H2G_GuidedProcedures.sda
    H2G_SourceCode.zip
But we are not able to find Follwoing sda on even Service Market Place.
If anyone knows from wher to download these two SDA, Let us also Know.
    Thanks in Advance for Help.

    Shruti,
While clicking on link that is given in PDF for these files its saying:
    Error - download expired
Sorry, the file you want to download, is already deleted or the id is incorrect.
Perhaps we require a special ID of basis guys because it might be possible we dont have access to these files.

  • Guided Procedures vs ISR

    Hi
We are trying to automate our internal form processes using SAP adobe interactive forms. These forms must be available online and must be routed to the relevant approvers and processors on submission.
Can anyone tell the difference between ISR and Guided Procedures and which one is the best to use.
    Regards,
    Michael Mayisana

    Hi Micheal,
Please check the answers for your queries. I have adding all the info i have.
    1. It doesnt exactly mean that the GP are only for Offline Interactive forms., they r for online too. but better suited for CAF appl. For this case we need, we will take the help of CAF GP i.e. Composite appplication framework GP. CAF GP is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools. As a part of the Composite Application Framework (CAF), GP enables access to multiple backend systems, consistently combining different types of services and applications into processes. In addition, GP supports collaboration, ad-hoc items, and offline task management using interactive forms. It provides role-based access to tools and resources and guidance through the workflows at runtime, thereby helping end users to easily identify and complete their tasks
    2. As to my implementation the form cannot be rendered on the front-end without any extra web-dynpro development when using GP. Like ABAP Webdynpro iviews can than be integrated with portal. and hence portal is used as front end.
    Pls chk the below link
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0957cb6-5103-2a10-6d9d-a0a4d68c8bf1
3.Example as such , might be a general MSS/ ESS implementation but check out this blog for such scenario
Guided Procedures explorations: Scenario using Interactive Forms and Visual Composer
Hope this helps you and hope i was clear .

  • Form with HTTP Submit.. Do I need a Guided Procedure ? How to Configure it?

    Hi masters.
I have a adobe interactive form with HTTP submit, it works when it runs online, but when I save the pdf file, open, fill and submit, the server does not recieve any request.
I have read a lot of tutoriais but I still haven´t find a specific tutorial from the begin to the end of this process.
Should I create a Guided Procedure to recieve this form from http submit ? How can I create it ?
    NetWeaver CE

Regardless of whether this bar is displayed or not, you should be able to access what is in the "Favourites" folder in a few ways.
Firstly via the Bookmarks link in Safari. This is the first icon directly to the right of the address bar. Pressing this will open your Bookmarks menu. If you see the word Bookmarks in blue select this and it will take you to the main bookmarks page, and the word Bookmarks will appear in black bold text. If you see Bookmarks in black bold text when first clicking Bookmarks you are where you need to be. The first link on here will be Favourites and have a star icon right next to it, click on Favourites and you will see what has been added to your Favourites folder - if anything.  Also there is an Edit button in the bottom right of this screen, if you aren't going where you expected when selecting a URL in here press Edit, press the > arrow to the right of the favourite name, is the URL correct? If not change it, and click DONE on the keyboard - appears where Return key normally shows on the right-hand side.
If you are opening Safari and have no tabs already open or have already closed pages so none are open you will see icons that represent the contents of your Favourites folder displayed at the top of the page.
Also with a page loaded if you click in to the URL field then you will see these icons appear again, together with the keyboard at the bottom of the page.
    Hope this helps.

  • WebDynpro ABAP & Guided Procedures

Can WebDynpro ABAP components be included as callable objects in a Guided Procedure within a portal?

    Hi Ryan,
Yes, it is possible starting from NW2004s.
When I go to Guided procedures -> Design Time, I see an option for ABAP webdynpro application under th menu Type.
Another option would be to put the ABAP webdynpro inside an iview and use that iview from guided procedures.

  • How to pass tables in Guided Procedures from VC

    Hi experts!
I'am working in a workflow scenario, more precisely an approve-reject workflow scenario.
I've defined all the start and the end points belonging to the respective iviews (I mean the sender and the approver iviews), following the  [Modeling Visual Composer iViews for Guided Procedures|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/44/429bbd709914bce10000000a155369/frameset.htm]
and everything works ok if I pass input fields, data fields, or boolean fields.
But I need to pass tables (In fact, I need to pass MORE THAN ONE table)....  Is that possible?
    How do I make it?
Any help will be apprecieated and point-rewarded.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards,
    Marcelo
    P.S. I'm working on EP7 VC SP15

    Hi,
    If you'll create 2 iViews:
    1. Table connected to end point (all the fields are mapped and table selection mode is multiple)
    2. Table connected to start point with same fields.
and create GP process for it, you'll find that selecting all the fields and passing them will result with all the selected fields appear in the 2nd iView.
But, i don't know if you can pass the entire table automatically (without the user selecting all the records).
    Hope I helped,
    Shay

  • Importance of UWL in Guided Procedures.?

    Hi,
I need to know the importance of UWL (Universal Worklist) in our Guided Procedures,
One thing that I can visualize is that, All the actions pending for a user can be seen here.
But that we can see in respective workcenter also. Then why do we need UWL seperately?
Also what if I want to <b>terminate</b> some task inbetween,
<b>Is there any option for removing tasks from the list?</b>because all the tasks, with the status as <b>pending</b> or <b>running</b> remains there until they are completed.
    Please share....
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi,
You have to create new system for GP.
Go to System admin - System config - UWL
    click on New button
Fill in the details as below:
    System Alias: *  SAP_LocalSystem
    Connector Type: GuidedProceduresConnector
Rest of the fields are optional
In the UWL - Configuration page, at the bottom, click on the link "Click to Configure Item Types and Customize Views Using a Wizard" , I think u can take it from there..
Add the UWL iview (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/general/iViews/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.iviews/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.uwl_iview)to ur role.
You can see all ur GP tasks in UWL.
    Good luck

  • Difference b/w various blocks in Guided Procedures?

    Hi experts,
I am new to Guided Procedures and want to know a few things.
Can anyone of you tell the difference between the various blocks in GP.
    Or
Can you give a brief idea about when will we use the different types of blocks in GP?
    1.Sequential
    2.Parallel Dynamic
    3.Precondition Loop
    4.Alternatives
    5.Parallel Block
    6.Post condition loop
Also, can any one tell me the diff between a Process and a Simple Process.
    Thank You.

    Hi Murthy,
As we know that CAF Guided Procedures (CAF GP) is a framework for modeling and managing workflows using simple and user-friendly tools. CAF GP enables you to re-use existing services and applications, such as SAP system transactions, remote-enabled function modules (RFCs), CAF Core applications.
Please check the below links for the different tyoes of blocks available at GP:

  • I Have a Guided Procedure Process...now what?

Obviously I'm a newbie with GP's.  I created a real simple Guided Procedure Process which I can execute in the GP runtime.  So how do I create and iView or a Portal page with it so I can assign it to a Portal role?

Roles are handled as following ways
                      Role
    Action A --    R
    Action B ---   R
defined the role to be user defined, runtime defined or initator. So if you are doing the user defined you will be prompted to assign user which are the portal users.

  • Guided Procedure - Authorizing an offline form

    Hello,
we're currently developing a Guided Procedure using an interactive offline form. The GP shall continue the process when the form is submitted back using HTTP.
Actually, we need to have authorization to make sure that only certain persons can return the data.
What's the best way to archieve this?
The best would be if the user is asked to provide uid/pwd and restrict access to the GP process in some way. Does Acrobat Reader come up with a pop up?
    Thanks very much
    Stefan

    Hi Cindy,
Your scenario seems to be a standard offline process.
Let me attempt to break it down for you:
1.Your offline pdf should have a submit button with the mail url.
2.The mail with the pdf/xdp attachement gets send to the preconfigured mailbox.
3.This mailbox is continously monitored by GP Adapters for any incoming mail.
4.In your design time you create a CO of type Interactive form which is basically your offline form. You also create your GP Process with the review and approving process.
5.Map the parameters of the Offline Interactive form CO to the Process Parameters.
(You should ensure the two have the same structure and number of parameters to make the mapping simpler)
6.So at runtime GP will do the mapping for you and when the approver logs on he sees the data passed from the offline form.

  • Naming Conventions for Guided Procedures

    Hi Experts,
Is there any naming conventions followed in Guided Procedures, please send it if yes.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Runal

    Hi Runal,
Basically, you can check all defined terminoly in the SAPterm Web Access database with a display user.
For starters, you can also go through the GP "Concepts" section in the documentation - it gives quite a good idea of the terms used and helps it easier to understand what term stands for what in GP
