Accessing BO XI Desktop intelligence reports through ASP 3.0

<p>I am trying to view BO XI Desktop intelligence reports through a customized application in ASP 3.0. The examples that I have come accross are all related to Crystal reports and none is related to BO XI ".rep" files. Please let me know if anyone can help me with the solution.</p><p> Regards</p>

    Hi
    We are experiencing intermittent issues with our DeskI reports that are pointing to a universe that subsequently changes its name.
    We seem to have some reports that cope with the name change perfectly well, and other reports that "cannot find universe" because it is looking for the new name.
    The issue with the latter, is that if DeskI cannot find the universe, it will then not allow you to repoint the universe in the View Data pane. When such reports are found, our workaround has had to be:
    1) copy universe and rename with old universe name
    2) open report and repoint to newly named universe name
    3) delete old universe name
    Should all reports automatically update when the universe simply changes their name? Why do some reports not do this? Is there something we can do to alleviate the situation?

  • A scheduled Desktop Intelligence report runs indefinitely on the server...

    If we delete the report through InfoView or Instance Manager, the report still appears in the Desktop Intelligence Job Server metrics. We tried pausing it first before deleting it but it does not pause the report in "running" state. The only way we are able to remove it from the Desktop Intelligence Job Server is to restart the Desktop Intelligence Job Server and CMS.
    Is there a different way for this? Perhaps have the report time out or something?
    FYI, I've noticed that the connection server pooling timeout setting is set to no timeout. Would setting this to a certain number solve our problem?

    Hi Gina,
    I would assume you are after the Desktop Intelligence Processing Server - new term in XI 3.1 - formerly known as DeskI report server in R2. Feel free to let me know if this is not correct.
    Steps on adding a new server in CMC are all contained in XI 3.1 Administrator's guide page 170.
    The document can be found in our SMP product guide area.
    In addition, it has the steps on cloning a server and deleting a server for your reference.
    Hope this helps.

    There is reference to an automated tool for converted DI BO reports to WebI (for XI R2) - but I can't seem to track it down!  Anyone know where it resides?

    Sure this is called the "Report Conversion Tool" which is installed via a BOE or a client install (3.0 on).

    goto 'Properties' tab for avail_bal
    and set the Qualification to 'Measure' and the Function to 'Sum'

  • Time Difference with Desktop Intelligence XI

    I have 2 date time fields
    Starttime: = mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS AM/PM
    Stoptime: = mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS AM/PM
    I would like to compare the actual time difference between them.  Unfortunately Daysbetween() doesn't cut it because it returns an integer for the actual days between.  I need the number of hours/minutes. 
    For Example:
    Starttime = 03/27/2008 01:00:00 PM
    Stoptime = 03/27/2008 01:15:00 PM
    =Daysbetween(Starttime,Stoptime) returns "0"
    I need my variable to return eith 15 minutes or 0:15  (read 0 hours and 15 minutes).  Any thoughts?

    There is no function for minutes that is comparable to DaysBetween, so you'll have to perform the work of "minutes between" in SQL using Designer....

  • Discoverer report accessible through Desktop but not through Viewer

    Does anyone have a hint for me about this problem: we can use a Discoverer report via Discoverer Desktop, but when we try to access the same report through Discoverer Viewer, we get an error message: the page cannot be found.

    It sounds like discoverer viewer may not be correctly configured or the permissions on the database account may not be correct. Can you run any reports through Discoverer viewer as any other user? What version of Discoverer are you running?

    Whilst I can access the web interface, somehow I cannot access Desktop Intelligence.  When I logon I get the following error message:
    &#91;repo_proxy 13&#93; SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(CMS host 'Desktop01' address was resolved properly, but cannot be reached to establish a CMS connection. Verify that your router/firewall allows communication on port 6400(hr=#0x80042a01)
    Port 6400 on the machine is LISTENING, which tells me it's open; Windows (WinXPSP2) is off.  The machine I'm logged on to is usually joined to the corporate (work) network, and, somehow tracert to the host indicates that the connection is passing through the Internet. 
    Trying to connect using the <internal ipaddress>:6400 is unsuccessful as well.  Any ideas, pls?

    Jon80:Trying to connect using the <internal ipaddress>:6400 is unsuccessful as well.  Any ideas, pls?
    You need to be able to connect to the CMS port. If this is not working even via telnet then there must be a firewall rule somewhere preventing it. Unless traffic is allowed to pass to the CMS on it's configured port (6400 by default) then any further troubleshooting is unnecessarry.

    We are unable to run Web-Intelligence reports against Microsoft Access Database which resides on a network drive
    Able to create Unvierse, and Universe Connection to the Access Database through ODBC, but unable to run Web-I reports, when tried we get the following error
    A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path.  Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.. (WIS 10901)
    Did anyone tried to develop Web-I reports from Access database on a network drive, if so I request you to provide us details and your findings

    We run the designer on the same machine where BOBJ runs and also on other client machines, from disigner it works fine,
    The service account which is used to run BO Application Services has full control access to the network location and folder where the database resides
    We can run / refresh Desk-I and Web-I rich client but cannot run web-i reports against access database

  • Portal Runtime Error while accessing BW reports through portal

    We are facing portal runtime error(An exception occurred while processing your request. Please send the exception id to your portal administrator) while accessing BI reports through portal frequently.
    We are unable to trace the error in the 'default trace' log file and although refreshing the cache solves this issue, it is difficult to explain this to every user individually.
    After many such errors, We found one log entry, which we are now not yet sure if it is relevant. The error states:

    We have implemented the FPN using RRA.
    This error comes only for few users when they navigate in Portal. After clearing the cache, it works for all. Kindly help us to resolve this issue.
