Accessing Business Intelligence via Browser?

Hi all,
we have a CA Clarity system which we will be using Business Objects with, rather than Actuate.
Our Internal Systems team have installed the Business Objects server for use with publishing reports etc.
They say that it is Business Intelligence R2, although I thought it should be Business Objects Enterprise.
Are they different beasts?
what i'm trying to ascertain is how I can connect to it using my browser, as I currently do with our Actuate reporting server.
I cannot seem to work out what URL to use.
I have the servername and the port number, and the administrator password - but for the life of me I do not know what to put in my browser address bar.
can anybody offer any guidance on this?

Hi,
Business Objects XI/R2 Enterprise is the version of Business Objects. It is reffered to as BOXI R2. You will have to log into BOXI R2 Designer and design the Universe first and publish it and then use it to Design the report by logging into WEBI URL. This development when Executed will open in a URL.

Error in trying to access my FORM via browser

Hi, I am new to Oracle Application Development, as a starter I created a sample form in Form builder and compiled it, let say TESTFORM.fmx
I have placed this file in [ C:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms ] as my default location in "default.env" file is this only.
Then I created a tag in "formsweb.cfg" as:

2.If Webutil installed? Then do proper configuration for "WebutilArchive"
WebutilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
3.If Jinitiator is used,check if all corresponding jar files are downloaded onto user machine.Because all required class as shown in the error are there in jinitiator jar files.Also check all jar files that you have mentioned in archive_jinit are downloaded onto user machine.
DO like this if using webutil archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,colorpicker.jar,keyfilter.jar,my_icons.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
4.Enable all activex settings of your browser and do a proxy bypass setting in the browser as well..
5. Check if you have download rights for downloading JAR files mentioned in archive_jini

Trouble Accessing Router Setup via Browser

I am having a strange issue with accessing my WRT54G router settings page via a browser.
Everytime I would type the IP address into the address box, I would get the message: cannot connect to server. I used the link in the User Manual and got the same message.
Of all places, my son found a link on the Nintendo site and it worked. I copied the link to my favorites in IE 7 and I can now access the setup page in the router. I did the same thing with Mozilla and the link gives the aforementioned error. The link is nothing more than the IP address. Also, I might add that I took the router to work and could access the setup page from my office computer. This seems to point to a browser issue.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do so that I can simply type the IP address?

Not very familiar with mozilla. But I'd recommend that you check if the proxy settings are on.
The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

Oracle Business Intelligence Dashboard username / password

I am trying to access Business Intelligence Dashboard and it is prompting for a username / password. I have the administrator username/ password however it is not allowing me to login. Which username / password should i use to access the dashboard page.

Hi,
i think you are new to OBIEE.
let me say something about it.
OBIEE has mainly two components on which users can work.
1.RPD. (Designing and syncronization from Database comes under this).
2.Presentation. (Dashboards,Answers and all other reports to the end user for analysis.)
What ever you have designed in the rpd of OBIEE can be viewed in Presentation.
To access rpd go to OracleBI/server/repository and click on your rpd.
the default path of the rpd is (OracleBI/server/repository).
You have many rpd's find the correct one.
you have to configure it for presentation.
it is a long process.
If you are using 10g you can login with user_name :Administrator and password :Administrator or empty.

Error accessing Business Rules from EAS

Hi,
I am using EPM System 11 and trying to access Business Rules via Essbase Adminstration Services Console (EAS). When I open up the Business Rules node from Enterprise View, and select Repository View > Rules, a list of all the Business Rules is displayed. However, when I try to click on one to open it in the editor, I received an error message from EAS the reads:
Business Rules Error. Error creating DBUserGrpObjLinkTable. Cannot continue.
When I click Get Detail, it just displays Detail: null. This occurs when trying to open any of the Business Rules. In the past I have had no problem creating, editing, and launching business rules from EAS.
I am still able to successfully launch the Business Rules I have already created and assigned to my Planning application FROM the Planning Web Application, but I am not able to edit them or create any new ones in EAS. Does anyone know what has happened to cause this error? It appears as if something happen to the one of the tables in the relational database that was configured during the installation of the EPM system? I can provide more detail if necessary. Thank you.

I have restarted the services and that did not solve the problem. This may be a stupid question, but I'm not exactly sure who I would contact at Oracle about this problem. Can someone tell me where I should look for this?
Also, I have a bit more information from the logs that may be helpful in solving this. Here is an excerpt from the hbrserver.log:

It appears that the HBR repository is not configured? I am confused because Business Rules were working fine just last week, and I'm not sure what has changed. Also, I can still successfully run Business Rules from Planning. Any ideas on how to fix the repository? Thanks.

Unable to access CMC through web browser

Hi All,
I have a BOXI3.1 Windows install on a VM server. Install is up and running and I can access the CMC via Start menu on the server. When I attempt to access the CMC via browser on a remote computer it fails with a "IE cannot display the webpage" error message.
I have tried http://alias:8080/cmcapp, http://servername:8080/cmcapp and http://IP address:8080/cmcapp, but all fail.
Is there a server setting or a BO setting that must be changed?

Hi Scott,
The communication should be two way communication. In both machine host entries the other machine details with hostname should be entered. Try this way should work and if any firewall configured please allow both the machines to communicate.
If this doesn't work then check for the following:
In VM there is an option configured to Ethenet called Host Only entry turned it to bridged will solve the problem.

Portal not accessable via browser as inside sapmmc - http provider is red

Hi Experts,
I am very new to NW admin side and currently my client is facing an issue while accessing portal via browser.
Problem: Some times suddently when users try to access production portal it takes a lot of time to open up and in most cases it doesn' t get opened up at all. To check what' s wrong with the portal i access sapmmc and inside their i find under current status -> ... -> services -> http provider -> total requests in red status with a description as avg request - response time last reported value above threshold limit. It will be the same case under open alerts too.
My server configuration is:
SAP-JEE = 7.0SP14
OS = Windows 2003 (X86) 5.2
Server Version = 1.4.2_17-bo6
Kernel Version = 7.00 patch level 109886.44
Server = 32 bit
RAM = 16.00GB
Processor = Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5450 @3.00GHZ (8CPUs)
Heap Size: 1024 MB
Approximate number of users = 500 - 600
Currently to solve the issue, we give a reboot to server. But with the progress in time the frequency is getting increased drastically (approx once in 2- 3 days).
Any pointers on how to solve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Now the issue seems to end up by raising an OSS notes with SAP and i have been given responsibility to prepare a doc that needs to be submited to SAP.
I have already got the screenshots from SAPMMC on it' s status and all, but also requires log information specific to the reason behind this behaviour. Can i know where the log information specific to such issues gets logged and all the necessary information that i need to document to raise an OSS.
Inputs with be of great help and will be highly appreciated.

Business Intelligence crash when accessing repository

Hi!
I have a strange problem. When I login and try to access a universe or the options menu my Business Intelligence client crashes
with
Faulting application busobj.exe, version 12.1.7.1144, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.1433, fault address 0x0001500a.
Faulting application busobj.exe, version 12.1.7.1144, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.3520, fault address 0x000449df.
A login with a different user solves this issue.
Does somebody know where I can reset the standard Universe and Document folder for a user?

These are the steps we took:
1. Delete Files
     a) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<USER_NAME>\Application data\Business Objects\Business Objects 12.0\lsi.
     b) Delete all the lsi file present in the lsi folder.
2. Deleting the user profile from registry
     a) Click Start > Run. The Run dialog box appears.
     b) Type "regedit" in the Open: text field. Click OK. The Registry Editor appears.
     c) Make a backup copy of the registry.
     d) Navigate to HKEY-CURRENT-USER > Software > Business Objects > Suite12 > default > Business Objects > <User_Name> User Preferences.
     <User Name> refers to the unique user name and profile on the specific computer.
     e) Delete the <User_Name> User Preferences.
After a restart the Client should now have no errors.

Problem accessing em via browser

Hi,
Anyone know what the problem? I got the error message from the sysman/log folder. Anyone know where i can find the documentation of the setting up of oem?
Beside starting the dbconsole service, what others services and things need to be started or done before i can use em via browser. (http server, any agents, set up repository)
Currenlty I managed to load the http://<host>:5500/em page. Although the database instance is already started up, the web page still indicate that the db instance is down and need to be started up.
Check the sysman/log folder and found the below error message from the trace files. Anyone know what the problem?

I was on my gmail account and looked at settings forward and pop/imap
be sure they are activated.
Imap if you want to access it from several places. That way you have the original on Gmail-server and copies on your pc.
Pop on the other hand loads down the emails. perfect if its just one pc.
(i'm not sure the Gmail-server deletes them thou).

L7600 Cannot Access via browser

I'm frustrated.
HP Printer --> Wireless Bridge --> Router
I can print from my MAC and the HP Utility can access the printer so I know I have connectivity. However, driectly access the printer via the browser seems impossible. I know I have the correct IP address and netword otherwise I could not print nor would the HP Utility "see" the printer. Any ideas - my PC cannot "see" the printer either.

I am unable to access cisco asa device using https and cannot lunch asdm, after recent power failure at our location. I have asdm installed on my machine and whenever i try to access the asdm, receive Error: unable to lunch device manager from X.X.X.X The following is log from java console

i was able to connection through console as suggested and regenerated the rsa key .. was able to connection through ssh, but the issue with the asdm or web access was not resolved.
