Accessing contact details on PC

Hi all,
I have a Nokia 6230i and PC Suite 7.1.180.94. Have backed up phone contacts to a file on my PC (My documents) but cannot work out how to access these contacts ON THE PC and edit them (without having ny phone connected (using bluetooth)). Any ideas welcome please.

Yes both the Applications are different ..
Go to Nokia Suite-->Tools-->Options-->Contacts ..and select 'Do not Sync' under 'Sync with Contacts application' and it will not sync them with MS Outlook ..Refer the Attachment
..and if you still wish to continue using the PC Suite.. Connect the phone and in the PC Suite open contacts-->.. select all then go to File-->Export and it will get saved as a .csv file in the 'Documents' folder .. Not sure if you are unable to locate the file or open the file. If the former then just search for .CSV files on your PC and you should get it. And if the later, what exact problem / error you get ?

Mail keeps opening in the background when accessing contact details

I'm using iPhone 3G
I have an App called FreeMemory (from the AppStore) than can view all running apps in the background.
What I'll do is check FreeMemory and I can see that Mail is NOT running.
Then I go ahead and open Contacts and tap on a particular contact name (I noticed that it takes a while to open the details of a particular contact).
After that I close Contacts and go back to FreeMemory. Now I see Mail running in the background.
(but when I only open Contacts and scroll through the list and I dont tap a contact name, it WONT open the Mail app).
I can conclude that accessing a contact detail also opens Mail app which eats RAM since im using only iPhone 3G which has small RAM.
*PLEASE note that all my mail accounts are already INACTIVE/DISABLED and my Fetch options are OFF and set to Manual. Also, I DONT have any email adress info of my contacts stored in their names.
Any idea how I can prevent Mail from opening when I access contact details??

my iphone 4, I can open my contacts and select the contact, but cannot open the contact details to dail their number or send a text, can someone help

Yep, I have the same issues with my TTG 700 and my N70. What software version are you running on the TomTom? I'm currently using v5.201 & this doesn't support any N series phone, so I had to choose the 6680 from the list.
TomTom have released a recent software update, v5.420 which is meant to be compatible with more models but I am sure I have read that this version supports the N90 but not the N70 as of yet.

Actually I am still running v5.201 as I use the PocketWorld GPS speed camera database and I have read that upgrading to v5.420 can cause issues.
I can make and receive calls using the TTG with the N70 and I can also access the internet if using the traffic update functions for example, that's about it.

I recieved a scam email from apple. then sent me the same email using my own email account. how do I report this to apple. can't find any contact details.

hi over the past month have received maybe 5 scam emails from apple.
I opened one the other day cause I thought well maybe it is from apple.
went through the steps and it was amazed at how well they did at copying apple website. you could even go to the apple shop page from their page!
what set me off that it was fake was that I tried to open the other apple pages along the top and it wouldn't let me. so I opened my own apple page and logged in. and realised that they don't ask for your bank details in your Apple ID account.
anyways so now what has happened is I got an email today " from myself" with this same scam email. it is as if they have hacked my email account and sending me these emails. I want to report this to apple but am unable to find any contact details apart from call back options. does any one have any advice on this.

I've had that same exact issue, I received the first e-mail claiming to be from Apple last night (though over the past week I've received two other scam e-mails from different addresses claiming that my bank transactions have been aborted). It said it was from my own address, and I checked it closely to make sure it wasn't a spoof account but found it was indeed my own e-mail address. Five minutes ago I changed my password, and I have just now received a second e-mail exactly the same, still coming from my own account. My best guess at an explanation is that it may have been sent before I changed my password and there was just a delay in the message sending, resulting in it coming through after changing my password.
I've now forwarded the e-mail on as an attachment to the [email protected] address, however this still doesn't help me with regards to stopping these e-mails. It concerns me that even though I changed my password they still possibly have access to my account. I tried checking my account activity but as opening the mail app on my iPhone is considered as a log in and I check it almost twice an hour, it's impossible to tell which could possible be an intruder logging in.

How to get contact details in C# code , when new contact is created in Exchange Server 2013

If you want to be notified when a user creates a contact then look at notifications (either streaming or push) on the contacts folder

Can you access contacts from calendar

Hi I would love to be able to access contacts when entering an appointment in calendar, I mean it makes sense doesn't it , well to me anyway , your more likely to make an appointment in calendar with someone you know? And if you know them they are likely to be in contacts? So why not be able to create a new appointment and simply add all the details with one touch ie address mobile email etc I currently look up the person and copy and paste details but that's a faff!
Any ideas ?

I have same issues and I am still with Snow Leopard.. I am terrified to switch to Lion or Mountain Lion due to the fact I will lose all my Word documents I have created for many years. I have been with apple since the 80's I worked for them when the mouse was developed... It has far surpassed me I can't keep up anymore. icloud will not work with snow leopard and my iphone has icloud. my software won't keep up with any changes either, nor my printer. Everytime I let the computer add new updates something else goes haywire. My apple id, my passwords etc. I'm on fixed income and can't afford to keep up, does this mean I will lose all my pictures, documents, and sooooo many other items I have created over the years. I miss the good old fashion put a picture in a scrapbook to keep it. Now I have to save and print out everything I create in a document or risk losing it. I will become a hoarder of paperwork in order to save all my documents and writings that I have done and collected over the years.... Does anyone out there have a suggestion or solutions for good old me.... What good does it do to put things on a disc if you are unable to open them because your software can't read them anymore. PLEASE someone help me.....

Ipad2 contact details are not displayed

Hi guys, since a few days I have got the following problem on my iPad 2, OS 5.01, sync with iCloud. The contacts are displayed in 2 pages layout, left the alphabetical list of contacts and (usually) on the right the details of the selected contact.
The alphabetical contact list is displayed but the details are not shown. The right side only shoes the options 1) new contact 2) add to contacts 3) send contact. A new contact 1) can be entered, the name is shown on the left, the details are not shown on the right. If I choose options 2) or 3) the contact folder is closed.
The contact details, however, must be available because the email app has access to the email addresses.
In order to solve the problem I tried the following
a) deleting all contacts and importing them again. Result: the problem remains
b) restoring the ipad from the last back up on my computer. Result: the problem remains
c) deleting all contacts, switching the ipad off and on again, entering a new contact. Result: the problem remains
I am also using the ipad 1 as well as the iphone with OS 5.01 both devices working as normal.
I do hope somebody can help, thanks.

could solve the problem by using iEA's suggestion:
I've been having this problem every since I updated to iOS 5. I called Apple and they told me to restore. That didn't work, I deleteted my icloud account, that didn't work, I switched contact off in icloud that didn't work.
I did a spotlight search for a contact, and it pulled up the contact info, then I touched the top left of the screen even though it was black, and went to the groups area. Then I clicked all, and they all magicly appeared with all fields in tact, wowowowo!! Hope this works for everyone

Missing Contact Details in Text address book

I have a 6500c and have noticed that i have a full list of contact details in my address book (sync'd with my PC) but when i go to send a text and access my address book via the text window i am missing about 100 names...
any ideas what's wrong and how to sort it out?

I did have all addresses downloaded through icloud when I first purchased my iphone 5 but since then I have attached various photos to people in my address book on my imac and would now like those details to be shown on my iphone.

Viewing contact details takes along time. N82

Hi!
I've been having this problem with my Nokia n82 for a while now. Whenever I try to see a contact's number by selecting it and clicking it, it takes about 20 seconds before I get to the Contact details. The phone doesn't freeze though (I still see the cursor in the search field blinking and I can switch to another process).
Once I opened one contact details, opening any contct details is quick. Only once I exited and killed the process will it take a long time to open a contact details again. Is that normal?

Thanks for your post and welcome.
Google uses a different naming scheme for phone numbers which does not translate to Windows Phone automatically. While some of the basic phone entries in Google Contact will translate to Microsoft account numbers other won't by default.
If you have access to software like Microsoft Excel or Libreoffice Calc you can fix this using the attached CSV file. This file has an account which is set up to use the default Microsoft Account naming for phone numbers. You can export your contacts to a CSV file in Google Contacts (More>export) then rename the phone descriptions as indicated in the attached CSV file and import these back into your google account using the Import Contacts... option. When done your phone numbers will be available on your Lumia after the next sync.

Contact details for directors

I am so sick of being passed from one agent to another, from one department to another retail, to Openreach and back again, and all the while having no broadband service and no-one being prepared to take responsibility for the problem, which is a BT problem. I had to go and sit in a coffee shop with my kids today so they could access the internet and do their homework. Until quite even recently you could contact directors via Twitter (whether they actually read it or not is another matter. I suspect the Director of Customer Service is more interested in their large bonus and next holiday than customer service). Meanwhile the service agents are left to take the flack, and have absolutely no ability or authority to do anything to help anyone. Pretty shoddy really. Anyway, does anyone have any direct contact details for any of the BT directorate?

Can't access contacts on Iphone 6 - fine on previo...

Just upgraded to an iphone 6 (latest software) and download Skype again latest version (i have a skype number) on it.
Works fine but it does not ask for permission to access contacts on the phone so when someone rings it doesnt show their details from my iphone contacts list (which is sync'd with all IOS devices via icloud)
So basically it doesnt access my iphone 6 contacts so i dont have a clue who's calling and when i call there is no iphone contacts to choose from
Previously on other iphones (including an iphone 3GS which i have in front of me right now which is working fine) there was an option in SETTINGS > PRIVACY > CONTACTS to allow Skype to access iphone contacts. This option is NOT available on my iphone 6 and i cant work out why
Note: I dont want to have to add all my contacts as 'skype' contacts when they are on my iphone and worked fine on previous iphones/versions of skype

Importing contact details from PC

Hey,
I was wondering if it's possible to transfer all my contact details from microsoft outlook on my PC to my PM G5?
I've got loads to transfer and really don't fancy sitting there keying each one individually!
My only other option is to somehow transfer from PC onto mobile phone, and from mobile phone to Mac - just means having to go and get the cables, discs etc to be able to do this.

this looks like the closest thing to answering my question, so if you're there, how about this. my version of outlook and outlook express don't allow vcard forwarding, or exporting.
however, i can export .csv - have accessed the information, and correct email addresses show up, but the email block is check-marked "Do Not Import". I cannot find a way to uncheck the selection, even though i've selected email on my address book card display. any thoughts?

IPhone 4s - Need to increase font size and add dashes to Phone Contact Details and Recents

I am in my 40s and need reading glasses. I can't read the Phone>Contacts details/numbers because the font is too small and there are no dashes between numbers. Same applies to Phone>Recents but there are dashes that make the numbers more readible. 3rd party apps such as Big Names, Big Contacts don't apear to be maintained to work with new IOS releases. Changing fonts in Accessbility doesn't alter the fonts in Contact details nor Recents. Zoom is inconsistant and inconvient.
This should be a simple fix for Apple or a 3rd party app that will help retain middle aged iPhone users and attract new users. No one want to use there reading glasses to read their phone. Andriod makes font selection a snap.

Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom. Turn it on. That or try bifocals (I've had to wear bifocals since I was in my mid 30's) or consider monovision contacts or lasik.
