Accessing context nodes from DO_VALIDATE_INPUT

Hello together,
in Web-UI i want to set the CITY depending on the POSTAL-Code. This should be done automatically if the user saves a new business partner. I did some coding in the EH_ONSAVE, but there are some problems with the duplicate check. So i tried it in the DO_VALIDATE_INPUT but i can't access the context node. Does anybody know how i can change some field before EH_ONSEARCH()?

Sascha,
If the context node is available on the view you are working, you should be able to access the the context node as DO_VALIDATE_INPUT is available in the IMPL class.
Example:
current ?= me->typed_context->product->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
Also you use DO_HANDLE_DATA, I remeber using it sometime back as it triggers on Save.

I have an table in webdynpro and a datagrid in flex, both getting the value from the same context node. My requirement is to make the table fields editable and when I make changes in the datagrid, it should get reflected back in the webdynpro table.
So how can I access the internal table's context node from flex ?

Hi,
As you are using a datasource, i assume you have set method in flex to read the datasource(context node). What you need to do is store the reference to this datasource in a local flex variable. Have a look at the below code:
private var refreshFlexUINode:ArrayCollection;
public function set refreshFlexUI(datasource:ArrayCollection):void
refreshFlexUINode=datasource;
and say you want to edit one row of the table, get that row from ArrayCollection and assign the new value.
it would be like, if you want to save second row of the datagrid
Object obj = refreshFlexUI.getItemAt(1)
obj[<CONTEXT_ATTR_NAME>]=<new value>

How to read the attribute in another context node from setter method

As part of the requirement
i need to read the STRUCT.E_MAIL ( attribute ) present in INDEPENDANTEMAIL context node from the SET_S_SRUCT method of the context node HEADER.
I tried th following but it didnt work out....
Get the Custom Controller Path
*lr_cuco ?= controller->get_custom_controller( controller_id = 'BP_HEAD/IndComm').
*IF lr_cuco IS BOUND.
Get the Entity
*lr_entity ?= lr_cuco->typed_context->independantemail->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
*ENDIF.
*CHECK lr_entity IS BOUND.
Get the Trade Event Type.
*lv_email = lr_entity->get_property_as_string( 'E_MAIL' ).
also i tried ...
data:
*lv_value type string,
*lr_property type ref to if_bol_bo_property_access.
*lr_property = collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
*lv_value = lr_property->GET_PROPERTY_AS_STRING( importing iv_attr_name = 'E_MAIL'
returining ev_result = lv_email ).
but it didnt workout ......

Access tree nodes from context

Hi all,
I have context with a parent node having a recursive node. if we populate data in this node i will get a tree structure. Now my question is how can I traverse to recursive node and display all informations to an excel. I know how to export the tree contents to excel. but my doubt is how to export the recursive node contents of the context to export to excel. can anybody help

It is used to perform save/check at the page level. Usually the root object context nodes will be created in the
overview page or window. This can be used to access context node entities such as for the purpose of save, copy,
checks/validations.

Dynamic Context Node Copying question

I am trying to dynamically copy some context nodes from my component controller to the view controller. In the source context, I have a node whose "Multiple" property is set to true.
I use the function addMappedChild to copy the attribute info, but the copied node always has "Multiple" set to false!! In the definition of addMappedChild there is no paramter for "Multiple". How do I do this?

How to set value from one view to other view's context node attr b4 save

HI all,
My requirement is as below:
There are two views in component BP_CONT.
BP_CONT/ContactDetails    IMPL class
BP_CONT/SalesEmployee   SALESEMPLOYEE    STRUCT.SALESEMPLOYEE
I want to set value from first view to second view's context node's attribute.
i get Sales Employee BP number in ContactDetails view, from here i want to set that value in to STRUCT.SALESEMPLOYEE
of second view in the same component.
please send me code snippet for doing the same.

You can access the fields from different views by either using custom controllers or by using component controllers, in your case you can access the Sales employee BP number from the Component controller.
first access the component controller as below in BP_CONT/SalesEmployee (in do_prepare_output method) or in (specific setter method)
lv_compcontroller type ref to CL_BP_CONT_BSPWDCOMPONENT_IMPL,
lv_partner type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity,
lv_role type string,
lv_partner_no type string.
lv_employee TYPE REF TO if_bol_bo_property_access,
lv_compcontroller = me->COMP_CONTROLLER.
lv_partner ?= lv_compcontroller ->typed_context->-partner->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
lv_role = lv_partner->get_property( iv_attr_name = 'BP_ROLE' )
IF LV_ROLE = 'SALESEMPLOYEE'
lv_partner_no ?= lv_current->get_property( iv_attr_name = 'BP_NUMBER' ).
endif.
now set the value
lv_employee ?= me->typed_context->salesemployee->collection_wrapper->get_current( )
CHECK lv_employee IS BOUND.
    lv_employee->set_property( iv_attr_name = 'SALESEMPLOYEE' iv_value = lv_partner_no )

How to call a method in IMPL class from one context node

Hi, I´ve been only study the posibility to access a method in the IMPL class from one context node class...CN## without using events, is there a way to call it ??? I don´t have it as requierement just learning thanks !.

Try this by following this you can get the custom controller instacne in the view context nodes, for your requirement you can keep the view implementation class instance instead of cuco..
To get the custom controller instance in Context node getter/setter method:
1. Declare Cuco instance reference variable in ctxt class..
2. Set this cuco ref. in the Create context node method of ctxt class:

gr_cucoadminh ?= owner->get_custom_controller( 'ICCMP_BTSHEAD/cucoadminh' ). "#EC NOTEXT
catch cx_root.
endtry.
you can avoid this step as this is not needed in case of view isntance
3. Assign this instance to the respective context node Create method using:
BTStatusH->gr_cuco ?= gr_cucoadminh. " here assign the view implementation ref. " me" instead of gr_cucoadminh
Here gr_cuco is the ref. variable of custom controller in the respective context node for eg. BtstatusH
Sample implementation of this can be found in
ICCMP_BTSHEAD/BTSHeader ->context node BTACTIVITYH-> attr ->GR_CUCO(instance of cuco)

To access a dynamic context node defined in a Used Component

Hi Gurus,
I need your help with something.
I have a dynamic context node in ComponentA. I want it in Component B too.
Component B uses Component A, but I am not able to get access to the context node.
Is it possible to do this? Any suggestions how to proceed.
PS: I am trying to do a dynamic mapping. The initial scenario was here, Set data into Model Node on Navigating from a View

and was trying to map it using

I want to redefine method BUILD_TABLE for a table context node and I need to access data from another context node within the same context. I have looked through the methods of class CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TV but could not find a mean of retrieving the other context nodes.
Any ideas?

I need to access the implementation class from the context node,in component seged_tg/eltargetgroupitem. Node is targetgroupitem.
Also if I can either access the component controller from the context node,I need to know how to instantiate the class.

I am VERY new to the concept of CRM and currently working on creating an alternate version of the BP_HEAD_SEARCH. With help from SAPPRESSs book 'SAP CRM Web Client' i was ble to create my own simple Z-component.
However after going back and forth the book and the forum (including this [article|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/Howtoaddanexistingfieldtoasearchpageofadifferent+component]) i was not able to find a solution to my problem. My current search uses BuilHeaderAdvancedSearch as context node for searching. But the search should also be able to use attributes from BuilActivity, which is directly related to BuilHeader. I can't seem to find a way to get attributes from BuilActivity into the search window of my component without having to change SAP-Standard.
Is this really the only way? Please advise on possible code and insertion point.

Any suggestions?

Reading Attributes from different context nodes in the same view

I have added a new field as part of an enhancement for Trade Promotions. This field is a checkbox and part of the context node TRADE in the view TPMOE/HeaderEOF. This field will be checked or unchecked using a logic in the background.
The logic will be based on an attribute (Fund Plan ID) which is part of another context node FUNDPLAN in the same view.
How can I read the attribute of FUNDPLAN context node in TRADE context node?
A sample code will be quite helpful as I am new to CRM 2007.

Hi Abhishek,
If I understand your question correctly, you would like to access the Fund plan ID (in a different context node) in the getter setter methods of the check box attribute which you have added.
The code snippet mentioend by sudeep works perfectly fine when you are making any checks in the view implementation class. But since you are in the getter setter methods of the context class, this doesnot work as "me" always refers to the class instance in which you are present.
Now in this case what you need to do is :
1) create an attribute <view_controller> in your context class. Here the context is TRADE. The type of this attribute wud be same as the view controller class CL_TPMOE_HEADEREOF0_IMPL
2) Go to the view controller class and redefine the method
DO_VIEW_INIT_ON_ACTIVATION. This method is called only once when the view is loaded for the first time.
3) In this method, put the following code
me->typed_context->(Trade)->[view_controller] = me.
by the above code, you are setting the newly created attribute to the view controller instance.
4) The next step would be, go back to your getter setter methods or what ever it may be, try referring to the Fund plan ID by the code snippet mentioned below
data: lr_entity type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity.
lr_entity ?= me->[view_controller]->typed_context->[the context node in which the fund plan id is present]->get_current().
lv_field_value = lr_entity->get_property_as_String( **pass the field name here ).
This should definitely resolve the problem.
