Accessing files through web-browser

Does anyone know of a global way to disable the ability to browse a directory structure of a BEA domain through a web browser.
For example, if a user knows of a directory within a domain, and that directory does not contain an index.jsp file, the user will see the files. How can we prevent this without putting an index.jsp file in every directory?

Yes - The NMH is a local network device, and you can store/retrieve files on it using the computers on your home network using either Windows Explorer, or connecting to it in Linux/MacOS as a Samba share.
However: The NMH requires an Internet connection to dowload firmware updates, and - If my experiences today are anything to go on - You'll need to have up to date Flash support in your web browser to be able to configure and administrate the thing.

Yes - The NMH does support uploading via a web browser as long as the latter has a recent Flash plugin installed. For small numbers of files, this should work fine...But for larger numbers of files, I'd suggest using either Windows Explorer, or the Media Importer program that came on the enclosed CD-ROM. :-)
You can find full details and instructions for doing both of the above in the NMH 4xx user guide, which may be downloaded Here. :-)

  • Unable to access CMC through web browser

    Hi All,
I have a BOXI3.1 Windows install on a VM server. Install is up and running and I can access the CMC via Start menu on the server. When I attempt to access the CMC via browser on a remote computer it fails with a "IE cannot display the webpage" error message.
    I have tried http://alias:8080/cmcapp, http://servername:8080/cmcapp and http://IP address:8080/cmcapp, but all fail.
Is there a server setting or a BO setting that must be changed?
Thanks in advance for you help!

    Hi Scott,
The communication should be two way communication. In both machine host entries the other machine details with hostname should be entered. Try this way should work and if any firewall configured please allow both the machines to communicate.
If this doesn't work then check for the following:
In VM there is an option configured to Ethenet called Host Only entry turned it to bridged will solve the problem.

  • How to Show preview of adobe illustrator file on web browser

    Hi All....
Is there any possibility to showing preview of adobe illustrator file on web browser through Flex or Flash or any other application.
    If any kindly suggest me.

    Hi Mylenium
    Thanks for all your suggestions..
While Googling on this issues I come to know that Illustrator file can be exported in XAML format with the help of a small plug-in, and that XAML file can be use in Microsoft silverlight. Then we can preview our Illustrator artwork on web browser. Also we can select each artwork (line, point, shape etc) on design view (on Microsoft Expression Blend). This is what I required.
Here is a link for Illustrator to XAML Exporter

  • Do mac os get virus through web browsing ?

Hi, i wonder if mac can be infected by virus through web browsing ?
If yes, how can i protect myself. I have also installed some third party app how can i check if my computer is clean or not.

You can be caught by some malware through uncareful browsing. To protect yourself simply avoid websites you know nothing about, don't click on a link unless you know what will happen, ignore any pop-ups or alerts telling you that you must immediately download something in order to protect or clean up your computer. These are all scams or are aimed at Windows machines.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection I recommend using VirusBarrier Express 1.1.6 or Dr.Web Light both from the App Store. They're both free, and since they're from the App Store, they won't destabilize the system. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

  • AdobeAcrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF Files in Web Browser...what do I need to do to fix this..

I just got Windows 7 and have been having problems since loading it. Most of my drivers only go to Vista and don't recognize 7.
I have trying to download some manuals from their website
and keep getting this message; Adobe Acrobat/reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in Web Browser.

Could I suggest a workaround for PDFs until a solution is posted? Open them directly in the Adobe application rather than in a browser tab.
In your Adobe application(s), go to:
    Edit > Preferences > Internet
Then uncheck "Display PDF in browser"
(There are very few sites where having PDF integrated is really beneficial.)

Just read catalina.bat and find where $JAVA command is called, for NT it should be "%_EXECJAVA% %JAVA_OPTS% %CATALINA_OPTS% "
    "%_EXECJAVA% is java
%JAVA_OPTS% and %CATALINA_OPTS% are enviroment parameter for java command. Just added one of them in your case.
By the way, " i am using a HP PDA on the client side, so i cannot increase the JVM heap size there", you should info. the client, otherwise the client may be get "out of memory".

    Meeting Place version : 6.0
Issue : Not able to access meeting place through a web browser
Getting errors regarding database in eventviewer.

Also, if you reset the "sa" password in Microsoft SQL Server, you will want to reset it in MeetingPlace. Do this by going to the desktop of the Web Server(s), then double click on the orange door on the bottom right, click on the Web Conferencing tab, and re-entering the "sa" password for both the Database Connection and the Slave Database Connection if both are showing.
Then you may need to restart the "Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing" service.
If this still does not work, you can open a SQL Server tool such as Enterprise Manager or Query Analyzer and try to connect to the SQL server using the "sa" credentials.

Let me know if any of you can you guide me through it.
    Thanks,

Looking over you configuration, it looks like you perhaps have a typo in your weblogic-ejb-jar.xml resource reference. In your weblogic-ra.xml you have defined the JNDI name to be MctEIS11/connFctryCCA but in your resource reference in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, you have defined the JNDI name as MctEIS11/connFctryCCA1. In applications where we have an RA and EJB clients, these JNDI names are usually defined as the same and we take advantage of the fact that the resource ref definition in the EJB descriptor makes the resource application scoped (vs. global scoped) so we will usually do application scoped JNDI lookups from within the EJB (i.e. ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/MctEIS11/connFctryCCA")). We do this because we support the WL production redeployment feature which defines as a best practice that all application references be defined at the application scope so they are self contained and not shared between multiple versions of the app that are deployed simultaneously. Your situation may not require use of application scoped lookups so I do not want to give you the impression that it is required. Just sharing our configuration in hopes that it may help you resolve your issue.

  • Issues showing PDF files in web-browser (Windows 7 x64, 32-bit version of AdobeReader X)

I'm not sure if this is the right way to share my experience, but at least I know Google will discover this thread eventually and maybe someone else will find what I have been looking for the past 3 hours
I'm deploying the 32-bit based AdobeReader X (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950) to Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit based machines. This is a MSI deployement done through our Active Directory. Everything goes well - no errors. Except for the x64-based machines having trouble showing PDF-files in the web-browser.
I used Adobe Customization Wizard X to customize our MSI installation - this showed out to be the solution once again.
Common for the installation on Windows7 32-/64-bit were that the value in the registry database for HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe (Default) was set to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe". This is valid for the 32-bit installation as Program Files is situated in C:\Program Files, but since it's a 32-bit edition of AdobeReader that I'm installing on the 64-bit based system as well, it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86) and the reference in the registry database to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is therefore not valid - which explains why PDF files could not be displayed in the web browser. Changing the registry to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" solved it. Now this is a manual solution which might be useful on 1-2 machines but on a bigger scale it's not the right way to do it.
I could change it with a batch/vbs script but still this is only a solution of the symptom and not a solution to the core issue. I therefore focused on Adobe Customization Wizard X again.
The problem was easily solved. I opened the MSI file, loaded the transform file that I've made previously. Went to Registry > HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe . I then changed the (Default) value from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" to "[INSTALLDIR]Reader\AcroRd32.exe", generated the MST file and replaced my current one for distribution. Problem solved! :-) The entry in the registry now shows : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" and PDF files are open without any issues.
I hope someone can save a bit of time on this one.
    Best regards!
    Alex Mikkelsen

I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine.  But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and  unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser.  I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
    Immediately after installing adobe--
when I do adobe test in ie 9---https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html--  launches a test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
After unchecking-- it stays in the  https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
Tried to go back to "display PDF in Browser"--it is showing it is checked(eventhough I did not check it)
    and in ie
it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf

  • Opening a specific page of a PDF through web browser not working with IE5.5

    Hi,
I need an urgent help to reslove the problem below.
Using Netscape 4.7, When I am trying to open a specific page of
a PDF file through the web browser using the command below.
    web.show_document('http://oraweb/abc.pdf#page=3','_self');
This opens the page 3 and then when I give subsequent calls to
this command with different page nunbers, it opens the related
    pages correctly.
But when using IE 5.5, the page gets displayed correctly for
only the firt time. Any calls to the command does not change the
    page at all.
Could anybody help me to resolve this problem ASAP?
    Thanks
    Preji

    Hello,
I think this is a problem of IE5.5 with PDF-Files.
You can find more information at acrobat web site
    (perhaps there is a patch)
There is a setting in the reader where you can say that
the reader should start in the web-browser. Turn it off -
when IE starts downloading a pdf-file you can choose
acrobat reader for the first time.

  • Remote access using a web browser

Does anyone know how secure your system is accessing labview remotely.
    Whenever you're accessing Labview(port 80) from a remote location
through a web browser there is nothing stopping a hacker from gaining
    access to your system.
Is there anyway to prevent outside access to the sytem?

    Casey wrote:

    > Is there anyway to prevent outside access to the sytem?
Well, if you prevent outside access you automatically prevent access
altogether so you won't be able to use a browser to connect to it. If a
browser can connect anyone with some TCP/IP knowledge can connect too.
If you want to disable that possibility you also disable access by browsers.
However the WebServer in LabVIEW is fairly secure and it is quite
unlikely that you can abuse it to gain access to your machine. The
biggest risk would be a DOS attack which in older versions of LabVIEW
    were possible at some time.
You have some options. If you only need access to the WebServer from
your Intranet, simply don't allow routing from outside traffic to your
LabVIEW computer at all. You configure this in your firewall.
I assume you have a firewall, (not the playtoy included in Windows XP
but a real one) because if you haven't you have a lot more and bigger
problems to worry before you even think about a possible vulnerability
    in the LabVIEW WebServer.
If you do need to have outside access to your LabVIEW WebServer you can
configure the firewall to only allow outside access to port 80 on your
LabVIEW computers IP address. And if that seems still scary to you the
better approach is to use a real WebServer such as Apache and do
everything there. Don't forget the firewall though. Eventhough Apache
may have some security problems every now and then, they are usually
discovered fast and fixed even faster. So if you monitor the situation
and react on known vulneribilities you can have a very secure system.
LabVIEW vulneribilities are often not found as fast because a lot less
people use it and even fewer try to actually seek out such systems and
    attack them on purpose.
