Accessing interface controller in different WD DC

Hi,
I have the following question related to using coding from WD DC1 in DC2 (just two example DCs) since I have problems accessing the interface controller of a different WD DC.
What steps are necessary to use the interface controller of DC1 (to be more precise the interface controller of a particular WD component within a WD DC) in DC2 and even more important in which order?
My assumption:
1) Expose interface controller as public part of DC1.
How is this done? Via exposing the whole WD Component in the public part wizard?
2) Build DC1.
3) Add DC1 to "Used DCs" for DC2.
4) Now the DC1's interface controller should be accessible? Am I right?
Unfortunately is the corresponding interface controller not visible in DC2.
Any help is really appreciated.
Kind regards,
Michel

Hi Michael,
After adding the first DC's component to DC2's used DC's, did you select the same under the used WebDynpro Components of the component controller? If not :
Under the component controller of your second DC, right click on "used WebDynpro Components", select "Add Used Component" and then on clicking on the browse button, in addition to the same component controller you will be able to see the component of the first DC too. Select this and provide a suitable name.
After this you will be able to access your first DC's interface controller in DC2.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Nibu.

  • Component Interface , INterface controller in WEB UI

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell me what is a component interface, component usage , Interface controller and interface view?
I am a beginner in WEB UI and is getting confused with these terms.
    Please help.
    Many Thanks,
    Neeraj

    Hi,
    component interface -> interface view:
Here you can define which Comp/Window should be accessable from outside the component
For example: COMP_1/MainWindow in component interface means this can be accessed as usage from other component
    component interface -> interface controller:
In this node there is 2 child nodes: Context and Events:
I don't know how to use Events. But in Context you can add context node from component controller, which can be accessed from outside. This is specially important, when you want to bind two context nodes from two different components.
You can see how this can be used in component controller class in the method WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE
    component usage:
Here you can define a usage of of other component.
For example: In your COMP_2 you can create a usage from other component (COMP_1/MainWindow).

  • Using Interface controller in OCA application

    Hi,
My requirement is to pass information and screen control between two components in two different DCs.
My parent DC Component has to pass information to my child DC Component and also call the view assembly of the child DC.
    I am using CE7.1 SP07 PAT003.
In my child DC I have created a component Interface Definition say ChildInterface. In the context of interface controller of ChildInterface I have added a string attribute. ChildInterface also has a view container.
Now in my Child component I add ChildInterface as my Implemented Interface. I map the window of the child component to the ChildInterface. To the view container I add the default view of the component.
Now I have created a public part and added the ChildInterface as an entity.
I add a dependency in my Parent Component to this child DC's public part.
At design time I can access my ChildInterface's context from my parent component. However, while adding a link from parent default view to ChildInterfaceView, it gives me an error. however on reload it suppress the error but doesnt open the java editors.
While trying to deploy the applications it gives me a deployment failure message.

please do attach the trace files..
Meanwhile , just check the way you have implemented the interface and the interface defintion of achild node are correct.
Once the implementations are correct, there should not be problem in deployment.
Let us know if you need more info on interface definton creation ...

  • How to create a method in Interface Controller

    Hi Guys,
I am working with webdynpro ABAP sample application "Component usage" . There i got a issue like i am not able to create a method in Interface controller. There i am not able to edit anything. Can anybody please let me know how to do that.
                Thanks In Advance
    Regards
    Ravikumar

    Hi Ravi,
              Check This
If one Web Dynpro component (parent component) needs access to another Web
Dynpro component (child component) the parent component can declare the use
of the child component. A specific component usage instance is then created and
the parent component accesses the functionality of the child component via its
    component interface controller.
The only parts of a Web Dynpro component that are visible to the user, are the
interface controller and the interface view(s).
All Web Dynpro components have only one interface controller. Via the
interface controller, data, methods, and event handlers can be exposed to
    other components.
Interface views represent the visual interface of a Web Dynpro component.
There is a one-to-one relationship between a Window and an interface view.
Each time a window is defined, a related interface view is automatically
generated, which makes the window accessible from outside the component.
The interface view only exposes those inbound and outbound plugs to the
component user that have the interface property checked. Methods and
context data of the window are not accessible via the related interface view.
If the component has no views, there is no need to have Windows. In this
case, the component will not implement an interface view. Such components
having no visual interface are known as faceless components.

  • AP Groups - Guest Access - Anchor Controller

Need clarification - I think it does work
Does the AP Group feature work with the anchor controller guest access feature
SSID guest --- LWAP -- LWAPP -- Foreign WLC --- EoIP --- Anchor Controller --- VLAN 10 or VLAN 11
    ie
    Guests in Building 1
    SSID guest VLAN 10
    Guests in Building 2
    SSID guest VLAN 11
    Mark

    Hi,
As far as I know, AP Group only works locally in each controller, and the mapping between SSID and VLAN is done in the anchor controller.
Therefore, all clients will end up in the same VLAN, even if access points are in different AP Groups in the first WLC.
    Kind regards

  • Use of interface controller

    HI
can u please explain me use of interface controller with simple example along with the code
    Thanks
    kishore

    Hi Kishore,
Here r the few facts abt interface controller:-
Used to control access from other components.
Is created automatically when a component is created.
Exists as long as its component is embedded in another
    component.
This controller contains data, methods, and events that can be used by other Web Dynpro components.
A componentu2019s interface controller can be used by the embedding component for mappings, eventing, etc.
Interface for external users of a component: data transfer,
    eventing.
    Interface Controller
One Web Dynpro Component may declare the use of another Web Dynpro Component to form a u201CParent-Childu201D usage relationship. In such cases, the only point of interaction between the parent and child components is the functionality found in the childu2019s interface controller.
There is a usage declaration arrow pointing from the component controller to a child component. Notice that the arrow joins the child component at the top right-hand corner. This is the location of the childu2019s interface controller.
At no time does the Web Dynpro Runtime interact with a componentu2019s interface controller. It is only ever used to form a Parent-Child relationship between two Web Dynpro Components.

  • Purpose of Interface controller

    Hi,
What is the purpose of Interface controller in webdynpro?

    hi
    Interface Controllers
    Interface Controller
One Web Dynpro Component may declare the use of another Web Dynpro Component to form a “Parent-Child” usage relationship. In such cases, the only point of interaction between the parent and child components is the functionality found in the child’s interface controller.
There is a usage declaration arrow pointing from the component controller to a child component. Notice that the arrow joins the child component at the top right-hand corner. This is the location of the child’s interface controller.
At no time does the Web Dynpro Runtime interact with a component’s interface controller. It is only ever used to form a Parent-Child relationship between two Web Dynpro Components.
SAP strongly recommends that no application coding be written directly into the methods of the interface controller. Instead, the public methods of the interface controller should simply delegate their functionality to a method of the same name in the component controller. This will greatly reduce the conversion task required when upgrading to the next release
    Interface View Controller
The visual interface of a Web Dynpro component is supplied via the Interface View. This behaves much like a UI element in so much that it can be embedded into the view layout of a parent view as a single, reusable entity.
Once the interface view of the child component has been embedded into a view layout belonging to the parent component, the parent component then has programmatic access to the visual interface of the child component through the child’s interface view controller.

  • Direct Context Mapping of an interface controller

    Hi all,
I want get 2 or 3 context attributes from an interface controller of another component. I can see the attributes that I want in the interface controller of the other component. I've been reading SAP documents and other posts and everything is concepts. How can I access those attributes to get the data. I've been reading and it sounds like you can do direct context mapping and external. I'm pretty sure what I need is the direct context mapping. The other component is an SAP component (LO_OIF_MAIN_COMP) and I can not make any interface methods of the component controller. So the only way that I can figure is to either call/make reference to the interface controller and get the attributes... but I can not figure out how to do it. Please help. I've been researching this for several hours now... and in my mind it seems like a pretty concept. Thanks.

    Hi,
I guess this seems to be WD compoent usage. you can use the steps mentioned in any article for e.g. WD ALV component usage and find out how the context mapping is done.

  • Using several UMTS access points (APN) for different services

    Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to use several UMTS access points (APN) for different services.
    situation:
    1) The iPhone is used for business AND private purposes.
    2) The company's mobile telephone contract includes a APN, which is only usable by the employees' mobile phones.
    problem / question:
Is it possible to define two access points in the iPhone, that for example the exchange account uses the company's APN, while all the other apps use the standard APN of the carrier?
Problem is, that some iPhone's benefits like Push-Messages are blocked by the carrier's APN. Now, I have to switch the access point by installing the appropriate profile every time I want to check my e-mails or vice versa for using "normal" apps.
I hope you can hep me.

Thanks for your help! This really helps a lot! We actually only want to replace the autonmous access point with the controller solution and make one WLAN available at another site. From what I can see, this is possible with our current solution - we just need to switch from Layer 2 to Layer 3 and purchase the corresponding amount of supported Access Points (I think we should be able to get some refurbished ones).
Am I correct in assuming that the Access Points we want to replace (AIR-AP1230B-E-K9 with 802.11b radio only) cannot be upgraded to lightweight ones? Since if I understood document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html correctly, this is not possible with access points that only have 802.11b radios.
Regarding the switch from Layer 2 to Layer 3: Do we really only need to perform the steps I described in my first post?
And one last question regarding REAP. As far as I understood this is only needed when local traffic needs to be maintained in case the connection to the WLC becomes unavailable. So we really don't need it if we want to access resources that are only available over the WLC?
    Thanks again for your help!

  • How to consume a method on the interface controller from another component?

    Hello,
    I have a project which contains two Components, A & B.
I have exposed a method at the interface controller of Component A. How can I consume it from Component B?

    Hi,
First add ComponentA as a used webdynpro component in ComponentB. Then open the Interface Controller of B and switch to Properties Tab. Select Add in the "Required Controllers" section. From the dialog that appears, select A's interface controller. Then you can access A's method from B's interface controller as:
    wdThis.wdGetAComponentInterface().<method>;

  • Call method of interface controller from component controller

    hi,
I have created one method in the interface controller of a component. Now i have this method along with attributes to the component controller. Now from the component controller i want to call the method of the interface controller. How do i do it???

    Hi,
You dont need to call the method from the interface controller when you are in the same component.
You can call the method which is in the component controller.
Interface controller is used to expose some methods to a different component.
Ex Comp a want to expose a method which will be used by comp b then  you need the interface controller in comp a.
Comp b will use comp a as used component
then it will invoke the methods.

  • Component controller Vs interface controller

    Hi Experts
Please state me the difference and similarities between the component controller and interface controller
    Regards
    Noel

    Hi
Similarities between these two is that both are controller but each having different purpose in the application
    Component Controller
1.Starting point of any application,(you can't create any app without defining any Component)
2.Master Controller of the complete Component structure (View ,Model ,interface ,window)
3.If function defined in Component Controller or Custom Controller it is available to any controller within your  component (Interface, View, Custom) but not available outside.
    Interface Controller
      1. To make Contents outside of the world one separate controller called Interface  Controller come into picture
whose only task is to exposing of the content to outside.

  • APEX Application accessing data from two different databases

    Hi All,
Currently as we all know that APEX Application resides in database and is connected to the schema of that database.
I want APEX Application to be running and accessing data from two different databases. Elaborating my question,
Currently, my APEX Production Application is connected with XXXX Schema of DB1 Database(Where APEX Resides). Now I want to add some pages into this APEX Application for REPORT Purpose, But I want to connect this REPORT APEX Pages to get data from Different Schema YYYY for Database DB2.
Is it possible to configure this scenario?
The reason for doing this is to avoid the REPORT related (adhoc queries) resource utilization effect on Production DB1 Database.
    Thanks
    Nil

    1. If you do the joining of two or more tables in DB1 then all data is pulled over to DB1 and then the join is executed: so more data over the databaselink and more work for DB1. Better keep the joining stuff where the data resides and just pull exactly that data over that you need.
    2. Don't know about your different block sizes. Seems a nice question for one of the other forums (DBA or SQL).
    3. I mean create synonyms on DB1 for reports VIEWS in DB2.
    Hope all is clear!
