Accessing iTunes store through a proxy
My school blocks everything iTunes for bandwidth reasons, so I can't update my iphone or use ringtones. Is there a way to use the proxy settings in the network settings to allow connections like the itunes store to work? I'd really appreciate any assistance, thanks.
I'd like to add some more details to my question.
I don't know if this happens at Win8 since I updated to Win 8.1 right after I purchased my laptop, all Win patches are up to date and also iTunes, I am running Win 8.1 64bit Pro version.
I tryed to reinstall iTunes, install quicktime or reinstall quicktime, also tryed to use microsoft kb 2639417, but it does not support win 8.1.

Try going to settings and then iTunes and App Store and logging out and log back in. Make sure the music app is closed while doing this and then open it back up after logging back in and see if the icon has returned.
I'm not sure what you mean, precisely - I opened settings, then I opened "itunes store", then opened "app store", but not sure how to log out, and back in on the phone? I closed them all down again, but still no radio icon, and when I'm in the store and tap the prompt "go to itunes radio" it just brings me to my albums list on the phone. Strange.
Does this make sense? I mean, am I explaining things clearly?
I appreciate the help, this is a pain in the arse. -
Cannot access itunes radio through autoconfig proxy
I've moved to a new office, and the new office uses autoconfig proxy. The autoconfig proxy needs authentication. Since moving to this new office, I cannot access the itunes radio. I've tried going to one of the radio website radioio and tried listening directly from there. But also no success. I clicked on the links on the website and windows media player popped up, but it seems that it also cannot get through the proxy. In addition to proxy, it seems there is also a filter installed at the new office.
Anyone knows how I can listen to the itunes radio again at this new office? You'll have to talk with the IT people and see if they have blocked the ports.

Trouble accessing iTunes store THROUGH iTunes
I am not sure if it is a problem with the program necessarily, but I am suddenly unable to access my iTunes account through my iTunes program. I am trying to continue the streaming of a bulky purchase I made yesterday, but now when I try to login, I get the following message:
[in red]
"FieldName:null. java.lang.Exception"
What does this mean, and how to I fix the underlying problem? Note that this does not occur when I attempt to log the SAME information on the Apple website.
Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10)
Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.10)It seems 7.3.1(3) has been causing a lot of problems, especially with authorization. I have also started seeing this in red:
FieldName:null.java.lang.Exception
on error messages when trying to log in to authorize my Mac, AGAIN. I have authorized repeatedly, iTunes said authorization succeeded, and all is well in iTunes. However, the music I imported into iMovie HD will not play, because my Mac is not authorized!!!
At first, just after the update, everything in my library had disappeared. However, after logging into the Store, everything reappeared. This happened sporadically for a few days, now everything loads properly when opening iTunes.
I would like to see a fix from Apple on this; clearly, the latest version has a serious bug.

I can't access itunes store, error 0X80090213
I'm not able to access iTunes store through iTunes 11.1.3.8. I'm running Win 7 64-bit. The error I receive is 0x80090213. I disabled Norton Firewall, refreshed the modem and the router several times with no success. I restored the system to an earlier time when iTunes worked but that did not work either. I also uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and got the same result. The date and time on computer are properly set. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you
Try this:
1. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off
2. Set the date ahead by a few months
3. You should then be able to connect to the store -
Can no longer access itunes store to update apps through itunes OR on iphon
I just updated to the 2.2 software on the iphone. Ever since, any time I try to update an application (or even check for updates) I get a message saying itunes can't connect to the store, check my network connection, etc. I get the same problem if I try to check for updates directly from the iphone or from itunes on my computer. I see many people are having problems with the itunes store. I assume that since I am having the same problem on my phone and on my computer, and since so many other people are having problems, that this is some kind of problem with Apple and not with my set up. However, I have not seen anyone else mention problems connecting from their phone the way I am.
Other than upgrading to 2.2 there is nothing different about my system - accept I did also try upgrading to the newest iTunes. The problem happened with version 8 and with whatever the current version is. I am using Vista - I never had any problem like this before.
Any help or comments would be much appreciated.I am also having this problem, i can no longer search for app's updates through the latest release of itunes 8.0.2 and also the latest iphone 3g update version 2.2 - this has been going on for about 15 hrs now. If i try to update through my iphone the the page eventually times out or comes up with "unable to connect to itunes store"., If i try through itunes itself, the windows comes up with the progress bar type thing and accessing itunes store, then after a while just comes up with "iphone sync complete, Ok to disconnect" - but i'm not syncing my iphone i'm trying to update the apps.....

I have a proxy server and the server is allowing me to go to iTunes. But I get a message "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error code ox80092013. I cannot find that code in the troubleshooting section. I have just installed a new PC HP5750, with Norton IS 2013. I installed the current version of iTunes directly from the iTunes site. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I contacted them and they said there should not be a problem with their server. I have had an account previously, but has been inactive for several months. I even tried to create a new account, but still got the same error code.
Someone please help with this. I have accompaniment tracks on iTunes that I need for music ministry.Hi Lcoffin8,

I am unable to access my iTunes store through my iTunes account. Every time I have tried it gives me an error ' cannot, connect to iTunes'
check to see if you are online
check to see if you can access secured websites (https) on your computer / device
if this is on a computer with windows configuring your antivirus / firewall to not block itunes some times will help, also resetting your tcp/ip might fix it (open command prompt as an administrator, type: "netsh reset winsock" hit enter, restart computer -
Rented movie stopped half way through,"Accessing itunes store" with revolving loader symbol
FIrst nite with ATV2, it suddenly stopped working, didnt recognize my password, and ultimately i had to change my password. Then went to bed and tried again this morning. It worked.
Second nite with ATV2, we rented a movie. 2/3 of way through movie, the loading circle appeared. cannot access the movie, though it recognizes that we have 22 hrs left on the movie. cannot access other itunes content.
--turned ATV off and back on--didnt work
--checked network--no problems
--reset ATV2--still cannot see anything but loading circle.
Tried to see a tv show we'd watched earlier today. "accessing itunes store" with the loading circle appeared.
HELP?
I have spent more hours trying to make the device work than enjoying it.
Thinking that I want to return this product. it works like a PC device.
If you dont know how to fix it, can you tell me,
HOW do i return it?are you guys watching TV late at night. I've noticed that the shows stop working at around 11 to 11.30 pm pacific time. I suppose that iTunes updates their catalogue to include the latest shows that are new and cleared for sale after the night's TV schedule. I think it's poor iTunes judgement to do that. Most people watch TV at night. They should update their catalogue some time in the morning hours.
I usually just unplug my apple TV, restart and then wait for a while to make it work.
If you guys get stuck because you put the show on pause then the remedy is to turn the screen saver off. Switch it to never because then when you pause and iTunes server goes out you don't have to re-authorize the show to continue watching it. That's if you purchased and the show was sownloaded to your apple TV -
TS1368 error in accessing iTunes Store Ox80092013
I have purchased an HP 5750, installed Home Premium, and Norton 2013 IS. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I am able to get to iTunes through the proxy server, but as soon as I login to it I get the message, "Error in accessing Itunes store. Unknown error. Please try again later." I get the error code Ox80092013. I contacted the proxy server and was told it was not a problem on their end. My account has been inactive for several months, so I tried creating a new account but still get the same error message. If it is permissible, please rely to [email protected] Otherwise I will try to get back to this page. Larry
I have this issue too. I sent an email and got a link to visit the community and find my answer here. I'm NOT happy with the email I got. I've been able to see my appleid and then click on Music or Movies but I cannot go to the home screen of the Store. This is obviously something they will have to do an update for. We aren't the only ones with this same issue. I've seen more than one question/subject about this same thing.

Unknown error code (-50) when attempting to access iTunes Store
Hi, can some kind person assist a newbie iPod user please! I have as yet not been able to access iTunes Store to purchase music (although I've successfully created my acccount which displays without error). Every time I attempt to access iTunes Store by simply clicking 'iTunes Store' in the left hand column, I keep getting the same error message box: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50)" Anyone who has exprienced the same problem and was able to fix, I'd really like to hear from you! Many thanks, Andy
Message was edited by: iPod Classic NewbieI am having the same issues with my Dell Laptop. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit addition with SP2 installed. This issue has been since I got this computer months ago.
I have checked/disabled firewall, symantec end point version 11, deleted the host file, used the msconfig procedures, uninstalled all of the apple/itunes programs in the recommended order. flushed the DNS cache, verified that no proxy server is being selected, and just about everything else I can think of doing with no change in the status.
The computer is fully patched through Microsoft update. I am also using iTunes v9.0.3.15.
I am using a linksys router which uses NAT. But this issue did work on my old computer with Windows Vista Home Basic eddition. So the only thing that has changed is the new computer with the differant version of Vista Home.
I have been researching this issue on and off for a couple of months with no sollution.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -
Can no longer access Itunes store
Sudeenly yesterday I cant access the Itunes store.
When I click on the store, I just see the scrolling barbers pole at the top of the screen and the message ""Accessing Itunes store."" It never gets any further
Ive disabled all my security, ive done the winsock reset and restarted my PC ((many times) I downloaded the LSP list from windows, and the list is huge, with many suppliers listed. It would take days to try and update all of that.
SURELY there is an easier solution to this problem. Clearly Im not the only one having it.
Please help
