Accessing Keyboard shortcuts freezes program...windows XP

Hi,
When I try to access the keyboard short cut...Audition CS5.5 simply freezes. I cannot do anything.
I'm on t he fence about keeping the program...this might tip me back.......Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Chuck

I don't believe we've received reports like this from others.   So I think your prefs folder may have been corrupted somehow.
Try nuking your prefs folder which is in (on XP) C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Adobe\Audition\4.0
and then relaunching.

What is the scripting object to access keyboard shortcuts in Indesign CS3 using VB script?.
I have created a custom keyboard shortcut set and activated it. So the next time indesign starts,
this custom set will be active. But I want to activate the "Default" keyboard shortcut set programatically

But I couldn't find one to set default keyboard shortcut. Please help.

    Hi,
The queries are stored in the database table OUQR.
You can add data to particular table and can also update the queries.
Once refer to the documentation of the OUQR table fields.

  • Keyboard shortcuts (vs. Windows)

In the now locked "Better than Windows" thread in the Tiger Installation & Setup forum, Wade Peeler commented as follows:
The fact that you can't restore a minimized
application via the keyboard is an oft-requested
    feature ...
Unless I'm missing something, you can do this using the Control + F3 key procedure I outlined in a post to that thread. I'm discovering it's actually a very well thought out feature:
    • Even if you have Dock hiding turned on, the keystroke combo pops it up.
    • Whatever was last selected by this method is retained as the initially selected item, even if you have used the pointer to select another Dock item or otherwise switched to another application.
    • The arrow keys select among apps & are smart enough to honor the vertical or Dock options -- navigate through horizontal Docks with the left & right keys & through vertical ones with the up & down keys -- just as you would intuitively expect.
To select any Dock item, you just press Return.
    {infomercial voice-over} But wait, there's more! {/infomercial voice-over}
    • Say you don't just want to restore an application minimized in the Dock, but instead want to access the docked item's pop up contextual menu. Once you select it with the arrow keys, instead of hitting the return key, hit an arrow key that points in the direction that the menu would pop up in (up/down for horizontal Docks & left/right for vertical ones). The menu then pops up & once again you use the arrow keys to select any menu item you want from the list.
    • If the contextual menu has a sub-menu, you can continue to navigate in this fashion with the arrow keys: if left arrow moves you into the sub-menu, right arrow moves you back to its parent.
    • If you decide to bail out of the feature without activating anything with the return key, either hit Control + F3 again or the Escape key, & you are retuned to where you were before.
    • Since the Dock can hold just about anything, the possibilities are almost limitless. For instance, I keep a folder in the Dock that is just a collection of folders containing aliases, organized by functional groups: favorite utilities, video apps, games, & so on. Since the actual folder lives in my Home Folder & contains nothing but aliases, I can name any of the items as I like & control their order in the popup menus & submenus with prefixes (like a "•" to move something to the top of the list). Moreover, some of these aliases are to files that launch apps via a setup file in a particular state (like a SuperDuper backup settings file). Since I'm an AppleScripter, a few of them perform complex actions, complete with state-dependent tests & logical branching. If you wanted to, you could even put an alias of your startup drive in the Dock, & navigate through the entire file system this way!
    {infomercial voice-over} Now, how much would you expect to pay? {/infomercial voice-over}

    Hi J,
running Windows on your MBP is like running Windows on any given computer, so all the well known keyboard shortcuts will work according to Windows standards.
Whether your wireless Windows keyboard will work with the MBP merely depends if you can sync it with your MBP.
There have been numerous posts round here, that are mentioning that at least with the Wireless Apple keyboard there are quite some difficulties maintaining a stable connection.

  • Why are the keyboard shortcuts for new window and new tab (N) and (W) instead of (W) and (T) when I right-click on bookmarks in my toolbar?

If I right click on a link in a page, the context menu allows me to open a new tab if I hit t on my keyboard and a new window if I hit w. In the bookmarks menu, these shortcuts change to w and n respectively. Hitting t results in deletion of the bookmark. Can this be changed so it is consistent with the in-page context menu?

You can middle-click a link to open the link in a new tab.

  • What's a simple keyboard shortcut to change windows..?

    Hi everyone,
I'm using a Swiss keyboard and am trying to figure out if there is a simple shortcut for switching Safari windows. I've finally figured out the shortcut for changing tabs (Command-Shift-left or right arrow) but changing windows still eludes me.
    thanks for any help,
    paul

No, it's not the key (nor the method to make the symbol) which makes it work but your mentioning the Keyboard System Preference turned a light bulb on for me. I went through the list of Keyboard Shortcuts in System Preferences and found that Command-< was the shortcut to move focus to next window in active application. Thanks..

  • Keyboard shortcut for changing window/tab

    Hi
Hope you're well. This is odd that I've not been able to find this anywhere.
In Flash CS5 (Mac OS). Window menu... right at the bottom it lists the windows you've got open with a number in front ie:
    1 project.fla
    2 class.as
    3 interface.as
Now... if I click (with the mouse) to focus (activate) the window menu and press a number key corresponding to a window in the list, Flash kindly takes me to that window.
Q: What is the 100% keyboard shortcut way to do this?
I've had a go at wading in and just pressing keys... as my last-but-one strategy for finding this out. My last strategy being "ask". :-)
    Cheers.

    Cheers Nivesh
    That's such a boon, cool.
Just to clarify for everyone, Mac Keyboard, it's the command and tilde key ( ~ ), but not using shift, Nivesh is correct. I had difficulty deciding whether it was the aposthrophy - my eyesight....
    Thanks again.

  • How do I set up Keyboard shortcuts to match Windows Excel?

At work I use MS Excel on Windows and I use the keyboard shortcuts a lot.
eg. Alt+= for sum the cells above
    Alt+I, Alt+R for insert a row
    Alt+D for downfill
How do I set this up on iWork numbers?
Also, where could I go to find out how to do this on MS Excel 2008 for Mac?
    Thanks,

As Yvan said, it is in the help files. The procedure is
    1) Open System Preferences and navigate to the Keyboard section then keyboard shortcuts.
    2) Hit the + to add a new shortcut
    3) Having it apply to All Applications is the default. You may want to use that because otherwise you'll have to do this once for Numbers and once for Excel. On the other hand, it might screw up an existing shortcut in another application if you are using a key combination assigned to something else in that application.
    4) Type in the menu title EXACTLY as it is in the menu. Capitalization and punctuation are important. You don't need to put Insert/Function/Sum, just Sum.
    5) Choose a key combination. Note that some key combinations cannot be reassigned. For instance, Alt+ (actually this is Option=) does not work; it inserts a not equal to symbol. Nor does Command+ (Command=) because it is assigned by Numbers to something else. Control+ will work. You can, however, make a different shortcut for the existing Command= shortcut (Format/Font/Bigger) so there is no conflict.
    6) Click Add.

  • KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS using MS Windows on Apple Airbook

I use MS Windows on a Mac Airbook runnig Mountain Lion.
The Airbook keyboard lacks the convenience of a PC keyboard as it lacks a Page Up  /  Page Down and End keys.
Are there keyboard shortcuts which will give me this functionality?
I would particularly like to be able to move to the beginning and end of a document.
It would also be helpful to be able to Copy part of it, to the beginning or end of a document.

I'm new to Mac having just got the new 27" IMac last month and have driven myself crazy with the same issue, cursing leaving PC. This Mac came with the small keyboard so no number pad no Home or End button. In Googling and reading through forums it appeared the only answer was to purchase a full size Mac keyboard which only made me grumble more about Macs. I tried every combo I thought should work to no avail. What I did find is that holding down Command, Fn and the down arrow took me to the next page. And Command, Fn up arrow paged up..so there's your page up and down. I finally called the "genius" bar yesterday and the guy was as perplexed as I was after trying several different combos to get the cursor to go to Home and End of my 125 page word document. Now I know why they are called the "genius" bar!!! Not one to give up (either of us) he finally hit the jackpot by having me hold down Command, FN and right arrow (I know, right???!!!) and it took me to the bottom of the last page. Command, FN and left arrow takes me to the top of first page..so there's your Home and End and I shall now live happily ever after!!  (And I rescinded all of the 4 letter words I had spew about Macs) :D

  • XFCE4+ other windowmanager: no keyboard shortcuts until 1st window

    Hello,
this is really a minor issue, but nonetheless, I would be interested in a solution:
When I use XFCE4 with another windowmanager than xfwm4 (so kwin or compiz), keyboard shortcuts (assigned in xfce4-settings) only work after at least one window is open. I also tried assigning keyboard shortcuts via kde-systemsettings or ccsm (Compiz-config-settings-manager), but it's the same for them: No window, no shortcuts.
As I said, the issue is minor as the workaround is: "open a window!" (so I do now with a terminal at session startup), but does anyone know a solution anyhow?

Solution for Studio 2 AND Studio 3:
    1) Each time you start your computer, go to System Settings - International
    2) Change the language from your language to English
    3) Change the language from English to your language
    4) Start FCP
    5) Your shortcuts and the FCP shortcuts work OK
You have to do this each time you restart the computer. People working with the English language setting don't have this problem.
This bug is about 2 years old. Shame on Apple for not solving the problem!!!

  • I am a disabled user and I need keyboard shortcuts to program the software. Does anyone know the keyboard shortcut for 'Save link as' ? Very grateful for your help. Thanks. :)

I am using Windows 7 ultimate and Firefox 4. I tried Alt + enter which does not work.

There is no shortcut key for such context menu items.<br />
You can use the context menu key on the keyboard to open the right-click context menu on a link and press 'k' for the "Save Link As" item.<br />
You need to press the tab key until you arrive at that link.
You can set the pref <b>browser.display.focus_ring_width</b> to a higher value (I use 3) to make it easier to see which link has focus.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

Was there a setting I changed originally that is now preventing me from cycling because everything is back to its default state?
    Thanks

As far as I know that is the default setting. Check under the keyboard and mouse preferences.

  • Accessing Itunes store freezes computer - Windows 8.1

My computer seems to work perfectly in every other scenario, is completely virus free (according to malware bytes) and Itunes is fully updated however as soon as I try to access the Itunes store (tried it on 4 separate occasions) the entire computer freezes and I have to restart. Any solutions or should I just re-install?
Thanks for all the help in advance

I'm trying to access the iTunes store through a restricted network at uni, thus I'am unable to launch many applications which require network connectivity, would the iTunes store come under this and if so is that the reason it freezes my computer? As I thought that perhaps iTunes is unable to connect fully due to the network restrictions (partial display) therefore gets stuck in a loop without any exit strategy (reason for no error message) and thus crashes.
