Accessing mail account after 2.2 update -takes me to iPhone home

Anyone else having this problem or know how it is resolved?
I have just updated and have 3 email accounts which I have never had any problem with.
Tonight (UK) after the update one of my accounts canot be accessed. When I select inbox (where there is unread mail) the email program closes and takes me to Iphone home where I can see all applications. I can access the the sent email and trash but not inbox.
Hopefully it's a quick fix as I need access to email duing the week!

So- went into mail account and switched off all mail. This meant I could get into mail (but obviously no mail visible) swithched them back on one at a time and pop email was the problem. Deleted pop account and set up again - but still same problem-says 1 mail in account (but there isn't) and when I select the 1 mail it crashes back to home page?
So 2 out of 3 accounts are working and one is locked (ntl)...

    Passwords are case sensitive and an numeric 0 is often mistaken for an alpha O.  Please verify your entry.
    If unable see here, click the down arrow on the right hand side and select Windows 7
    We are aware that there is a problem with this update concerning the Memphis S motherboard.

    Mail doesn't sync properly with my university IMAP mail account after installing LION... worked great before with snow leopard.
    when i try to configer the "incoming mail server" section, I fill everything out correctly and yet I get this message:
    "can't verify the identity of imap.'myuniversityname'.ca"
    there is some text explaining it after. If i press continue anyway, no new messages are transfered from my university server to mail on my mac.
    I am running a 2010 13" macbookpro

    Plug it into iTunes, Control-click on the iPod in the left frame and select "Restore from backup." Should put it back like new.

    After deleting files, there does not seem much improvement on the disk space.

    I recovered from time machines's backup harddisk
    Time Machine may be using the disk space - if you have Time Machine enabled and not the backup drive connected, TM will make local snapshots, if you have free disk space. See Pondini's webpage for more information: Time Machine - Questions 30. What are Local Snapshots?
    I disable these local snapshots on my portable macs, to be sure, how much space really is free.

    After the ios 7 update to my iPhone 5 mail does not show my accounts. Specifically there is nothing below the word Accounts. The rest is working fine and still connected to my three accounts. However it no longer shows accounts.

    thanks for the suggestions, i tried the ideas you suggested but i dont even get a camera showing for the rear camera, i also noticed the torchlight no longer works.  i did all the steps but no luck.
    So I took my camera to the genius bar this weekend as well as walking through various steps with the apple guys in ohio support over the net. 
    With the guys at the genius bar, after i insisted that it must be software as the rear camera stopped working only after the softwre update, they continued to assure me it was hardware and talked me into letting them replace the camera,  they then took it to the back and tried fixing a camera and 30 minutes later came out and said the rear camera is no longer being detected and wanted me to replace the motherboard for yet more money.  im glad they didnt charge me for the new camera though as it still didnt work.
    anyway the motherboard idea i rejected as it was just 2 months out of warranty and had only stopped working the day after the release of 7.0.2, so im going to wait until the next few releases to see what happens, as i dont believe for a second its hardware.  i expected a stock answer from apple and its exactly what i got even after my explanation of how it was working the day before the release.  not overly impressed with the whole process.
    i wanted to back down to 7.0.1 to confirm the camera still works but they said no chance so i cant even see if it still works ouside 7.0.2.  anyway will update if i get any further progress.

  • Need help accessing Mail files after Updgrade to OS X 10.5

    I recently did an Erase and Install of my new Leopard OS X. Before doing so, I copied my complete mail file from 10.4 to an external HD.
    After installing 10.5, I tried to import the old files from the HD and I get a message that says my Mail file is not compatible with this version of OS X. This is a REALLY big problem because I have 8 years worth of contacts stored in those mail files
    I don't know what to do. I have since set-up new mail accounts, so I am using my Mail Program without problems. I need to know how to access my old files. I have tried everything I can think of. Any help would be appreciated.

    which Mail file do you mean? the Mail application itself? that was the wrong thing to copy. the application itself contains no user data at all. all your mail data was stored inside your home directory in the folder homedirectory/Library/Mail. if you didn't back up that folder, your Mail data is gone. Your ONLY chance (and it's a small chance) of recovering your Mail data now is to use data rfecovery software like [Data Rescue II|http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php] or [FileSalvage|http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1] and try to restore that Mail folder. You should do this ASAP to decrease the chance that this data will be overwritten.

    I cannot access my mail, when I login to my mac account I get the new mobile.me page (I never knowingly made the transitiuon and trying failed), I can read the account page but not the mail.
    There is this message on the lower right side of the account page:
    1% of MobileMe members cannot access MobileMe Mail. Service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience.
    Am I one o the 1% ?
    Is there still an alternate way to get my mail ?

  • Duplicate mail accounts after converting to icloud from mobile me

    Anyone else having problems with their iPhone 4s after converting from mobile me to iCloud?
    I did the conversion and everythign works, except I cannot get my old mobile me mail account to go away on my iPhone.
    I've deleted it from the accounts section of settings, but I still have an old mobile me mailbox that is showing the exact same thing as my iCloud mailbox.
    It's like a mirror mail account that won't go away!
    I just did a complete factory reset and updated to iOS 5, but it's still showing up.

    Many thanks for the suggestion, I copied the messages in the iCloud mailboxes to new boxes "On My Mac".
    As suggested here I then unchecked the "Mail and Notes" item in the iCloud pane in System Prefs on the iMac, iCloud then disappeared from my mailboxes. I then unchecked the "Enable this Account' box in Mail Prefs for the Mobiel Me a/c.
    After checking the "Mail and Notes" item in the iCloud pane in System Prefs the iCloud boxes reappeared in Mail. I then deleted the Mobile Me a/c in Mail.
    Seems a bit of a rigmarole! but it worked!

  • How do I get Thunderbird to connect to a properly-configured Office 365 mail account after shutting down and then restarting the client?

    I get my Office 365 account set up and working in Thunderbird. I can download and send mail just fine using the auto-detect or manual account settings recommended by Microsoft/Outlook/Office 365. Everything appears to be working as it should as long as the client stays open. When I shut the Thunderbird client down and restart it, it can no longer access the Office 365 mail account. I get a popup error message:
    The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account (my Office 365 account) responded: User is authenticated but not connected.
    It has no problem connecting to Hotmail, Gmail and other email services, and I can access Office 365 through the web client, but Thunderbird refuses to connect. If I remove the account and re-add it, I can have full access to my email again, but only as long as Thunderbird stays open. If the client gets restarted, it's gone again.
    How do I fix this?

    I think you might be having a cached password problem. I was having it and was able to resolve by deleting my stored password in Thunderbird. I referenced

  • Mail in iOS 7 changes default mail account after entering addresses?

    I just noticed that the Mail app in iOS 7 changes the sent from email address from my default to another account I have after entering in the send to address. When I first create the new email the correct default email address is showing (iCloud) but after I add any send to address it changes to another account (Hotmail) as the sent from account.
    I checked my settings and iCloud is still set as the default account, I can click and change it before sending the email but I think this may be a bug unless there is something I missed.
    Anyone else have this problem?

    Oh, and just to add, whilst under Settings > Mail it does indeed state 'default mail account to use when an application outside of mail attempts to send mail'.  However also when you are in the Mail app and on the main screen where you can see all your mailboxes, the Mail App also needs a 'default' account, and in my experience/opinion this is pulled from the Default account within Settings > Mail rather than which ever mailbox is top of the list within the Mail app (didnt work for me!)
    But regardless, I have sent an email from an app outside of Mail and the issue is encountered:-  I have my virgin.net as my default email (via Settings > Mail).  I go into the Photo app, and select a photo to email.  My virgin.net email is showing in the From box - so far so good.  I select an email address for the To box.  My From email address switches to my iCloud.com address.  So this is the bug.  It should not be doing this.  This is the same issue it seems encountered by the original member of this thread.  Anyone know how you alert Apple to bugs in their software?
