Accessing mail via Exchange

Is there some trick to setting the Touch up to push email from my work server via Exchange? I've typed in the user name, the password and the server and everything asked for. My employer tells me that ActiveSync has been activated. Co-workers have no trouble accessing their email using their Blackberrys. What might I be missing?

not sure if it will help you, but here are my settings:
email: [email protected]
server: web address for your server (example, if you access Outlook Web at an address such as https://www.mycompany.com/exchange you would enter www.mycompany.com)
domain: the domain setup at your server, may not be the same as the web address, check with your IT (example mycompany.local)
Username: what ever you use to login to you company machines (eg: LastFirst, finitialLast, etc)
Password: your password.
I leave SSL on, but may cause you issues if your companies certificate are self signed. You can try accessing via safari to see if there are certificate errors.
Set to push in the Fetch New Data settings.
Good luck

  • Problem accessing mail via Safari browser

    How do I access iCloud Mail via my Safari browser on my iPhone? If I go to iCloud.com it just offers me the option to install it on my phone.
    The problem is, I already have it installed on my phone and it works fine EXCEPT at my new job - the wifi is not very good and I can access internet/Facebook etc but every time I try and load email it always says it 'cannot find the server .' I therefore tried to access email via safari browser - my other email provider works fine that waybut iCloud doesn't even give me the option to login, just keeps suggesting I install it.
    Any ideas how I can check iCloud email at work? Can't do it on work computers, site is blocked....and there is no 3G/4G signal.
    Thanks for any advice!

    According to http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2618 you should be able to access it via a browser by going to https://www.icloud.com/#mail

  • Accessing Mail via Dock

    Hi
    I'm having problems getting into my .Mac mail using the 'Mail' icon on the dock. I can access my mail by going direct to my .Mac account but not through the dock. I checked all 'settings' and even reinstalled 'Mail' but still no joy. The mail page simply shows no mail and the proverbial spinning beachball. Eventually, I have to force quit after several minutes of wasted time. Has anybody any ideas? Thanks

  • Outlook automation failing to send e-mails via Exchange.

    I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes:
    We  have an application written in VB6 which automatically generates e-mails in Outlook . The customer in question was using use Outlook 2010 with Exchange 2003 they have recently migrated
    to Exchange 2013. Since migrating all generated e-mails have stopped being sent out and are all being bounced back with:
    Remote Server returned '550 5.1.0 RESOLVER.ADR.InvalidInSmtp; encapsulated INVALID address inside an SMTP address (IMCEAINVALID-)'
    When I go into Outlook to try to resolve the issue and drive down into the properties of the recipient of the e-mail the e-mail type field is blank (see screen shot below) where as before the migration the e-mail type always defaulted to SMTP. I'm
    not sure if this is what is causing the issue but its the only difference i can see post migration.
    I have looked at the Outlook object model and cannot see where I can set the E-Mail Type property. Can anybody advise my how i can programatically set the E-Mail Type property to SMTP
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    How are those systems configured to send through your Exchange server? Are they configured to send as an authenticated user, or is it basically anonymous?
    If they're not configured to send as a valid user then your scenario makes sense. When sending to an external address via the server you're effectively asking it to relay the email. Exchange will naturally block any relay attempts from unknown sources, otherwise
    anyone could send spam via your server. When sending to a distribution list the destination is local to Exchange, therefore relaying isn't required and the message is allowed.
    I imagine if you receive the failure reports when you try sending to
    [email protected] that the report will be something along the lines of "550 relay denied".
    I suspect your best option will be to setup a user in Exchange for the purpose, and then configure those apps to authenticate to Exchange using that login, but that obviously depends on the capabilities of those apps and how they connect to your server.

  • Change sender Address when using SAP Mail via Exchange

    Hi,
    I'm using FM  ZSO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send email with .pdf attachment. all works fine but the recipient sometimes replies to the email which I dont want to happen, so I need the email to appear to have come from an alternative address than mine.e.g. from 'saphelpdeskatxxx.com'
    ....code I have tried to change is Originator here...
    CALL FUNCTION 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'
           EXPORTING
              EXTERN_ADDRESS             = ' '
              FOLDER_ID                  = ' '
              FORWARDER                  = ' '
                OBJECT_FL_CHANGE           = OBJECT_FL_CHANGE
                OBJECT_HD_CHANGE           = OBJECT_HD_CHANGE
              OBJECT_ID                  = ' '
                OBJECT_TYPE                = OBJECT_TYPE
                OUTBOX_FLAG                = PUT_IN_OUTBOX
                ORIGINATOR                 = ORIGINATOR  <----
                ORIGINATOR_TYPE            = ORIGINATOR_TYPE
              OWNER                      = ' '
              STORE_FLAG                 = ' '
           IMPORTING
                OBJECT_ID_NEW              = OBJECT_ID_NEW
                SENT_TO_ALL                = SENT_TO_ALL
                ORIGINATOR_ID              = SENDER_ID
    but that doesnt work.
    Is this something I need to do with Exchange and not SAP?
    Any help appreciated.
    Steve

    Hi Aditya,
    I took a copy of the SOI1 function group, called it ZSOI1. Copied Function  SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to Z version. In there there's a call to FM ZSO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1
    In call arguments set SENDER_ADDRESS to desired static email address, then set SENDER_ADDRESS_TYPE = 'SMTP' - it was that statement that I was stuck on for months
    Hope that helps,
    Steve

  • Why can't I access mail via the mail Icon on my desktop?

    I can only get mail when I log into my MobileMe account. When I click on the Mail Icon on my desktop,
    my Mailboxes are all empty. Was working fine until I changed my iTunes password earlier today.
    I'm also getting an error message in iCal: "the server doesn't recognize your username or password."

    Go to settings>mail/contacts/calendar>accounts (select MobileMe)>account ( and change your password to the new one).

  • Access Mail on Mac Server with non-Apple device

    I currently have a Windows server with Exchange installed and am considering replacing it with a Mac Server. IF I do that, can my non-Apple Windoes 7 & XP computers access Mail on the Mac Server as they now do with Exchange?

    Yes and no.  You will be able to access mail via IMAP but you will have a dickens of a time getting Address Book and Calendars to work.  Apple uses CardDAV and CalDAV respectively for these services.  Your options on WIndows are limited.  See here for options:
    http://caldav.calconnect.org/implementations/clients.html
    http://carddav.calconnect.org/implementations/clients.html
    If you are looking for something to "replace" Exchange, then check out Kerio Connect.

  • Mail with exchange server problem.

    I keep getting a connection failed message asking me to chdeck the settings for my exchange account. I've done this many times and even managed to talk our administrator into checking the settings.
    The error message contains the information that the host xxxx server on port 143 failed. This port may be incorrect, but how do I chage it?
    I have managed to sync with my exchange account and all messages seem present, just can't send or recieve from mail, via exchange server.
    suggestions?????/

    I think the problem of intermittent connections to the mail server is that it may be caused by OSX's firewall, so what I did was to go to System preferences>sharing>Firewall, I opted for a New port, I selected "other" and named it Mail and under the TCP port number I input 25 or you may input whatever you use (ssl requires a different number) or you may do several to cover all the accounts and name them mail2, mail3 etc. if you are wondering what UDP is, its the following: is a connectionless protocol that, like TCP, runs on top of IP networks. Unlike TCP/IP, UDP/IP provides very few error recovery services, offering instead a direct way to send and receive datagrams over an IP network. It's used primarily for broadcasting messages over a network, in other words if you are not sure avoid inputing a number here. So far Im trying it out for stability, I have read many articles and the solution may be as simple as this, its easy to try and non permanent, any one trying this solution please post any experiences. Thanks

  • Can't get access to OWA (Exchange 2003) through Mail App on iPhone

    I can access my Office's Email system through Outlook Web Access (2003) via Safari, but I cannot seem to get Mail (on the iPhone 4S) settings to recognize the server.  I have tried all combinations of excluding the https:// and the /exchange.
    Help

    No clue. It works just fine for me and everyone I know.
    Re-boot the phone.
    Restore the phone.
    Restore the phone as a new device.
    Do any of those fix it?

  • Why do I get an "unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network." message from iCloud.  I have verified the settings.  I can access my iCloud account online but can't send or receive e-mail via the mail account.

    Text limits to the "Question" link prevents a full explanation:
    This is a long-time problem.  I have tried to resolve it with Apple but their "Customer Support" is merely a name.
    I can go online and access my e-mail but when I try to send or receive e-mail via iCloud through my internet server (Google fiber now but the same situation existed with my prior service), I receive "There may be a problem with the mail server or network.  Verify the settings for 'Apple Email' and try again.
    "The server returned the error:  The server 'p0-imap.mail.me.com' refused to allow a connection on port 143."
    Well, I have verified the setting and tried again and again and …
    Well, you get the idea …

    Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
    iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
    The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)
    The document I linked to is Apples documentation for iCloud on current devices,I don't care whether you believe that you know better than they do, but it will affect the people who follow your advice as it won't work

    I never said that there was, perhaps you imagined it.

  • MfE uninstall - Sent via Mail for Exchange still e...

    Hi,
    On my new N97 I accidentally installed MfE trough the Wizard. Later I removed MfE succesfully, but now in the Contact list, under E-Mail there still is an entry "Sent via Mail for Exchange".
    How can I remove that entry?
    Best regards,
    Wouter

    Check in Messaging and see if Mail for Exchange is still listed as a folder.
    If so, go to Options, Settings, E-Mail and you migth be able to remove it from there.

  • Mail 4 Exchange should allow Access Groups

    It's a shame the Mail for Exchange Connection menu requires an Access Point setting - and doesn't allow the selection of an Access Group.
    I have an Access Group set-up where my WLAN is used, but when I leave the office, the 2nd preference is a 3G/UMTS data connection.
    I should be able to sync with my Exchange server in the office, and when I leave, maintain the connection without any user intervention required (by auto-switching to UMTS)
    It would seem so simple, but unfortunately it's not supported. Hopefully someone from Nokia is watching....

    Don't know what kind of phone but I assume an E series. Try downloading Smart Roaming (go to "Catalog" on the phone). THen configure smart roaming to be your wifi and then gprs. Then configure mail 4 exchange to use smart roaming as its access point. Works well.

  • Can I setup Mail app to access Yahoo mail via IMAP?

    Can I setup Mail app to access Yahoo mail via IMAP? I think that my iPhone is doing this, but what about the Apple Mail app on my Mac? I don't like the fact that the Mac downloads the e-mail messages and removes them from the server, therefore making them inaccessible from Yahoo's online mail or my iPhone.
    I'd like to get to work just like my Mobile Me e-mail... Any thoughts?

    There is an option in the 'Advanced' section of the account setup to delete the messages from the server after a specified period rather than immediately on download; you could leave them for a week or whatever, then they will still be there when the iPhone accesses them.

  • Mail for Exchange - Access Point question

    Hello,
    When setting up Mail for Exchange, you need to input the Access Point.  I cannot find an option to select "Ask for Access Point" or something along that line.
    I use wireless access points and when I go from one spot to another I have to change my settings just to sync.
    Does anyone know of an option, if not how could I file for a feature request?

    The specific problem can be resolved. How did you hard reset your phone? You should hard reset your phone (some key combination which I cannot remember, press four keys simultaneously). Then format mass memory. Reinstall the firmware. Otherwise let Nokia Care reflash your phone. I had issues with freezes when I hung up a call, but that was resolved when Nokia Care reflashed my phone.
    My phone is currently broken, so I cannot help you further.
