Accessing my MobileMe account

When I attempt to go to my MobileMe account via me.com on my iPad I get a blue screen that asks me to do four things: Set up Mail, Contacts, Calendar; Install Find My iPhone; Install Gallery App' and Install iDisk App. All of these things have already been done months ago when I first got my iPad and all was working well until I installed and set up Find My iPad a few weeks ago. Now I only get this screen and can't access my MobileMe account with my iPad.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

HI,
until I installed and set up Find My iPad a few weeks ago.
Tap Settings / General / then tap *Reset All Settings*
Restart your iPad.
Hope this helps. If not, connect your iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes. Select your iPad under devices on the left. Click Summary from the menu, then click Restore. This will restore your iPad to it's original settings and you can reinstall your apps and photos from a backup.
Note. I had the same thing happen when I installed, "Find my iPad" .. couldn't open my iDisk. A restore did the job so I hope it works for you.

Trying to access an old email account through mobileme.com
everytime I try to check my mobileme email a message box pops-up:
User name or password is incorrect.
What can I do?  I currently have 2 email addresses hooked up to me.com

MobileMe is closed (as was announced over a year ago). You need to migrate your account to iCloud while you still can - go to http://me.com and follow the link to migrate. You should do this as soon as possible.
Then sign in in System Preferences>iCloud (Lion required) and enable Mail in the checklist there.

I currently use iCloud on a MacBook Pro. I opened my iBook G4 that hasn't been used in years. I have many email messages that i would like to transfer to the MacBook Pro, but every password I use to access MobileMe is not accepted. Any suggestions on retrieving or transferring the emails?

MobileMe was discontinued around 2 years ago.  Anything on the MMe servers are long gone. The MMe passwords are uselsess because MMe is no more.
Unless you created an iCloud account back before MMe was taken off line you won't be able to recover any emails.

  • How can I access my iCloud account from my computer, when I'm running OSX Leopard?

I have a Mac Book running Leopard and I don't have the iCloud icon in my settings.. How can I access my iCloud account/back up my computer to the cloud?

Your signature says you have 10.6.8 which is Snow Leopard, but that is still not compatible with iCloud. You cannot back up your computer to iCloud in any case - it doesn't provide for that, only for iOS backups.
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
If you have already set up an iCloud account on another Mac or device you can make limited use of it with Snow Leopard - details here.
To make full use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
    and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
(If in fact you are running Leopard and it is an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.)

  • Can't sign into my ICal with my mobileMe account?

I have had an active mobileMe/ICloud account for years.  When I try to log in it says the sign on or password is incorrect.  I go to the ICloud page, sign in and I get
right in.  I am trying to sync my calendars and other things between my IPhone and my Mac.

In order to be able to make full use of iCloud you are going to have to upgrade your operating system. The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.

    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:

  • Access mobileme account + emails on my mac/me accounts.

I am unable to access either my mobileme account - via the system preferences or mail nor can I send or receive emails via .mac or .me email accounts. Something happened to my password and unfortunately I cannot retrieve through keychain - the password stored there is not working. I am seriously concerned re the security of my account. Cannot stress how much time I have wasted trying to get help from Apple!

MobileMe closed over a year ago, after numerous warning emails and online notices. Did you migrate your MobileMe account to iCloud before the end of August last year? If you did not, you can probably still use your address (which is an Apple ID) to open an iCloud account (Lion, Mountain Lion or iOS 5/6 required) but your emails previously stored on MobileMe have long since been deleted and are not recoverable by any means.
If you did migrate to iCloud your first step would be to go to System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud and sign out, then sign back in again, chacking Mail in the checklist there.
If that doesn't work, go to http://appleid.apple.com , sign in anc change your password. You will then need to sign out of iCloud again and sign back in with the new password.

  • Can't access MobileMe account on iPhone

    Hi there,
I can't find an answer to this question anywhere here or through a Google search. Does anyone know how to access one's MobileMe account on the iPhone? I've tried everything and all I get is a dialogue box telling me to set up a MobileMe account. I already have one. I can access it via Safari on my new MBP but not on the phone. I've nuked and paved the iPhone, re-installed the software, updated to the latest version and still can't access MobileMe. The iPhone's Mail app works fine, as does Safari, but MobileMe continues to be a Byzantine mystery and Apple's documentation is feeble and hopelessly inadequate. I wouldn't care so much if I wasn't paying big bucks for this service.
I will soon be at sea with no Internet access for the next month, so maybe somebody will have figured something out by then.
    many thanks,
    Michael

Thanks to those who responded to my questions so promptly. Admittedly, some confusion surrounds the syncing issues. For some reason, I thought I could access my Keychain on my iPhone since it is synced with MobileMe in my MobileMe preferences pane on my MBP. Clearly this isn't the case. I have a lot of information stored in Keychain Access in secure notes and I needed to look at one of them via the iPhone while I was on the road. My bookmarks sync. This is where I was led astray. I clicked on my MobileMe bookmark from Safari on the iPhone and that leads me to a page "Looking for me.com?"
    thanks again,
    Michael

I cannot access my mobileme's account from my Ipad 2 because it assumes I do not have an account and need to create a new one (I can access my mobileme's account from my MacBook Pro). What can I do?

I do have an @me.com address because I enabled Mail thru the iCloud pref pane and I setup the @me.com email address but I'm still not able to use back to my mac.

  • Two mobileme accounts on one ipod

Hi all, what I'm going to ask got an airing here : http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2620155&tstart=0 but that was iPad, not iPod. I want to use 2 mobileme accounts on the same iPod. One's mine, the other is my spouse's, which is a - don't know what you'd call it, sub-account??, i.e. there's only one mobileme membership. This all works fine on our Mac computers Mail client. When we can't get to that, we can still access our mails via the mobileme website, but using the same password. Password's not an issue. Not sure how the ipod mail client will behave or how to set up 2 accounts. Any advice? TIA, Terry.

Well, there is a differene between cabled syncing (over iTunes in regular data syncing) and OTA syncing (latter one used by MobileMe to use Push Sync).
Mail does not copy actual mails to the device and back, that is done via the mail server (if supported, what is done by MobileMe with IMAP).
What I don't know is stuff like MobileMe calendars and contacts and so on.
Maybe it keeps the data separate while syncing (so your cals are synced to your account and the 2nd cal to the 2nd account); but maybe they're shared.
It's all based on the fact that the iPod is a single-user device and not meant to support multiple users... quite ironic considering that iOS technically supports multiple users as a UNIX system

  • Questions about syncing multiple MobileMe accounts on one iPad

You can set up multiple MobileMe accounts; however, only one MobileMe account at a time can be used for Find My iPad and for syncing contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and notes. (iPad User Guide p. 32)
    Okay.
If you've done this already (created multiple MobileMe accounts on your iPad), can you please tell me how syncing two accounts to one device works in practice?
What prevents the merging of contacts and calendars between two MobileMe accounts and one instance of the Calendar and Contacts apps?
As a matter of functionality, and assuming there is a way to avoid merging this information, how does one access separate calendars and contacts from separate MobileMe accounts in the Calendar and Contact apps?
    Thanks!

  • On apple tv you can sign in to mobileme account but it wont allow me to, it says mobileme account could not be found.  please help??

on apple tv you can sign in to mobileme account but it wont allow me to, it says mobileme account could not be found.  please help??

OK - I am trying to be rude either, just very frustrated.
I hope the OP is not put off and for her benefit I will post this.
If you are looking for galleries and have an otherwise functioning ATV2 read no further.
If you are trying to get your unit to work because:
    1) You have selected to send feedback to Apple and then wanted to key in your mobile me address and failed, or
    2) Tried to set the iTunes store by using your me address, because they are the same, or
    3) You are trying to set up home sharing using your mobile me address
then as part of the set up process you will, having keyed in your .me address and password, have got the message that your mobile me account can not be found.
If you look under the general section, you have the option to set time zone. If this shows Cupertino and you have selected either "automatic time setting" or keyed in another town not on Pacific ST and you are not in Cupertino then date and time have not set.
You can unplug the unit and leave for a few minutes, you can select to reset and restore. You can check that your router allows access to the necessary ports (typically 53, 80, 123, 443, 3689 and UDP 5353).
If your Apple TV on reset and opening the ports, still hangs at "setting date and time," then you are one of a group of people being blocked access for some reason that is not being shared openly - other than my comment above about server issues at Apple's end. This is not malicious but just repeating information posted on this and other fora. I can not confirm or deny, but when every other option has been discounted then only certain solutions remain.
I wish you luck in getting your ATV to work as it should.
PS I don't think cables are an issue here as you obviously are seeing something on the screen to see that you can't log in.

  • Do I need a MobileMe account?

    Hello,
I Made my web site using iWeb '08. If I let my MobileMe account expire, will my web site go away? Or, will it continue to exist without me being able to access/edit it? Don't know why I don't know this but I don't. Thanks in advance.

The main difference is that you publish your website to a local folder and upload it using an FTP application. Some info here....

  • Setting up secure chatting without a MobileMe account

    Hi
Some experimenting lead me to believe that it is indeed possible to setup iChat 4 to sign and encrypt messages without a MobileMe account.
    1. Open Keychain Access
    2. From the Keychain Access menu, choose Certificate Assistant > Create a certificate…
    3. Select Self-Signet Root and check Let me override defaults
    4. Click Continue until you come to the section Extended Key Usage Extension
    5. Notice the iChat Signing and iChat Encryption options
I am just curious, have anyone managed to actually setup secure chatting in a non-MobileMe chat account? Such as Jabber? Where do you get the certificates from? (I know self-signed certificates wouldn’t work.)

    Hi,
AIM allows several form of Encryption and the Apple MobilMe and the previous .Mac system are allowed.
There are Add-ons for AIM itself but I have not looked into whether they use sites that create certificates iChat can use.
