Is there any way to save a PFD or Word document on iPad that can be accessed without the internet?

yes. When you view the doc (I am assuming it is coming to you from attached to an e mail) touch it once to download it, then touch a second time to view it. But if you make the second touch a long touch - hold it, an 'open in' box will appear, and you can select what app you want it opened in, and that will save the file to that app. You can go in later - off line, and it will be there, associated with that app.

Is there a way to sync email with Word doc. attachments with a desktop, via a usb cable, without the desktop having an internet connection?
The setup is an iphone that syncs mail with a work computer that is internet connected. At home there is no internet accept Edge; i.e. iPhone gets internet but the desktop does not. I would like to use the iphone to move Word docs from emails back and forth to the desktop. I.e. someone emails me with a word doc attachment, (ii) Can I then sync (download) the attachment onto my home computer via a USB cable, edit the document? and then (iii) sync (upload) the edited word document back to the iPhone (which will then sync with my work computer via the Edge connection.

Hey Tooschaye,
iTunes will sync the email account settings to the iPhone, it does not sync the actual emails or attachments.
You should be able to find a few applications on the App Store which will let you store files on your iPhone. Then you can transfer the files to your desktop. I believe most of these apps require the devices be on the same Wi-Fi network.

How do I download a word doc off the internet and still be able to edit it in Pages?

I am really stuck. I have some stuff on Skydrive that downloads as a docx but then I cannot open it in Pages. And if I download it as a pdf in Preview I still can't edit it. Can someone please help?

What version of Pages? What version of OS X?
I ask because I just now located a 'random' .docx document that had arrived as an email attachment, and opened it with no difficulty in Pages '09 v4.3 (1048), running in OS X v10.8.4. I did get some (expected) warnings, all having to do with fonts used in the document that are not available on my machine.

One more question is I want the form page to show up right next to the ending or in the middle of the word doc . How to manange the placement of the sections?

1) The option of creating the whole thing as a LiveCycle form means that you need to convert the Word document using LiveCycle Designer. The import utility won't preserve the fidelity of the Word document the way printing to the PDF print driver does. It will likely require a fair bit of tweaking in Designer to get it looking like you want. You will likely get frustrated, since Designer is not a word processor.
2) You can create PDF forms in Acrobat without launching LiveCycle Designer. While they look the same to a user as forms created with LiveCycle Designer, behind the scenes they are very different. When you create a form in Acrobat you overlay fields on top of an existing PDF document that you had previously created using the PDF print driver. There is an extensive scripting model for these "Acroforms". The technology pre-dates LiveCycle yet Adobe continues to improve the two forms models in parallel. In Acrobat, open a PDF and select tools-->forms-->show forms toolbar.
3) I recommend this option if it's feasible. I don't know what you mean by "doesn't show up in a flow". If you're going to use the form in Acrobat 7, then save it as Acrobat 7 compatible in LiveCycle Designer. This is one of the options in the Save As dialog of LiveCycle Designer.

Referring to your previous message when you said you'd converted via Acrobat and not Acrobat.com, I'm converting via Acrobat.com because that's the only option that is shown (how do I convert via Acrobat? - perhaps that would be more successful). I'm using the Export PDF website, and the OCR is enabled to "Recognize text in English UK". However, I've just tried converting a different LPA pdf form, this time for Health & Welfare https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245571/LPA114_He alth_welfare_LPA.pdf and again I have the same problem as before. I've altered it from "Read only" and thought I'd then be able to enter text, but "Drawing Tools" is shown in the pane and I'm unable to enter anything onto the form - everything appears to be in images. Also, the lettering on the heading of' page 1 has become jumbled, with the word "Public" overlaying the word "Guardian." Any suggestions as to what it is I'm doing wrong would be welcome - I don't like to be beaten!

My file started in Adobe Illustrator. It has several pages of text. I converted to a pdf. When I tried to convert to Word with Export PDF, all the pages ended up on a single page, instead of a Word doc with the same number of pages. What do i do to get a pdf of 7 pages to convert to a 7-page Word doc?

Word page layouts are fixed like PDFs. Just add page breaks as needed. But don't expect any kind of good result. If Word could do fancy layout, we wouldn't need Illustrator.

You need the ExportPDF forum. There, you'll find people who actually use the service (I have Acrobat and have never needed ExportPDF)

Do you receive that error when you try to sign in via Reader? If so, try signing in via the web interface. Did that do the trick?

Insert a PDF ro Word doc into an Excel sheet

I have to track parts. I created a spreadsheet to do this. We are trying to as paparless as possible is my office. I need to insert a PDF copy or the actual Word doc into the spreadsheet so my techs can access it and indicate that the
parts have arrived. This spreadsheet is on a SharePoint site and so are the PDF or Word copies of the documents that the techs need. Inserting a hyperlink will pull the PDF doc up in another web tab which is what I don't want.
I need to be able to pull the docs up and modify them and save them back to the SharePoint file. Help! THANKS!!!!

Have you considered using a SharePoint list instead of an excel spreadsheet? You can then attach one or many documents to each row in the list.
